OK, this just started for me. Yesterday, after entering a couple of appointments into my Tilt, I was able to sync to a MS Exchange Server wirelessly everything EXCEPT those 2 appointments. Mail/contacts work fine. Just not new appointments. However, I can enter them directly into Outlook 2003 and they sync back to the Tilt. No new appointment, re-occurring or not, with or without notes/reminders/attachments syncs. they are reflected on the Tilt, just won't sync. When connected via USB, I get the no help "Support Code 1" error.
My ROM/Radio/Hard SPL info is in my signature. Win XP (I don't know what service pack the server is, but no changes that have occured that coincide), Active Sync is 4.5.0. Death V.4 does have Thumbcal installed by default which, in an effort to resolve, switched to the standard calendar program. I also (in no particular order):
1. ran scanpst.exe on PC
2. ran detect and repair in Outlook
3. did Regsvr32.exe %Windir%\System32\ole32.dll
4. deleted and reconfigured relationship in Activesync
5. changed the durations of the past appointments AND
6. searched to no end XDA and the net for a solution.
Any assistance would be appreciated. TIA!!
-Sign into OWA check if all is ok.
-On your desktop, do the same in outlook
-Create a test appointment with notes on OWA and see if it sync with your desktop calendar.
*If it sync you're good and you may have to contact your exchange host to see if there's been any changes in your exchange setup settings for your device.
*If the sync fails, create a new outlook profile on your desktop. It's a possibilty you profile is corrupt. Any part of outlook can be corrupt and not effect outlook as a whole. In your case, your calendar isn't functioning properly.
-Also...if you had your exchange account for a while, check the personal folder file size. It can hold up to 1.96 gb but at around 1.75, 1.8 gb ... outlook may do some weird things. If this is the case, you need to start archiving.
Hope this helps.
My background on topic:
I used to do tech support for Honeywell where 80% were exchange email related. Most of the users used Blackberrys and a handfull of windows mobile users. I provided telephone & remote support with Landesk & Remote Desktop.
Thanks! I will check in the morning. After posting this I noticed that one of my PST was well into 2 gigs. I am in the process of moving stuff around and hopefully can get it to be a more reasonable size. Lots of rules to adjust. . . .

OK, no luck. Entered an appointment with note in OWA, which synced fine with desktop. Adjusted pst size down to 1 gig, deleted and created a new profile in Outlook. Hard reset Tilt, contacted IT at work and no changes to Exchange Server. IT said contact ATT to see if it is something on their end, but I don't see how that could be.
This is a disaster for me.
I really need to have this working.
edit: One more interesting facet: if I just sync the calendars via USB (i.e. deselect MS Exchange and select "this PC"), syncing occurs. This is entirely related to the wireless component of syncing the calendar. Weird . . .
edit 2: well, flahed Duttys Hybrid, and all was good. Reflashed Death V4 and problem returned. Switched over to L26 KaiserDiamond V9 and problem resolved. NO FRIGGIN IDEA WHY. Thanks DWNY for the help, though. I suspect that my Exchange Server has something against Shogunmark.

Glad I could help ... somewhat.
What ever you do, do not upgrade to IE8 especially if you update your calendar with OWA. The new appointment will show up in your calendar but if you've created notes .... the won't sync to your phone.
Other browsers will show OWA in basic mode with only text entries, no HTML support.
Just a tid bit to share .....
ROMeOS 3.1 has worked great for me.
I'm a heavy Outlook user myself. These days I run my own IT Sub-Contracting company and do all my scheduling via OWA.

Anybody? would love some help!
Not sure if anyone is still having this issue, but the fix for Calendar items created on device not syncing up to Exchange (but sync no problem from Exchange to device), do the following:
1. Go to Start/Settings/Clock & Alarm
2. Change your Time Zone to another zone, and OK.
3. Go into ActiveSync on device, and sync with exchange
4. Go back to Clock & Alarm and change your time zone back to appropriate time zone
5. sync with ActiveSync again.
Problem should be resolved. Has worked for me many of times.
Thanks!
Windows Live for Windows Mobile.
Its not working correctly for me on Hyper Dragon III Full rom. Installed a cab for Windows Live 10.6.0034.0800. I then set up email (I have a legacy hotmail account) via messaging > windows live. Inbox fails to sync, but contacts will sync. After fiddling with manage folders sent items will sync but junk mail wont. So at present i am able to sync contacts, and sent items, but not inbox or junk mail.
Tried thinning down both folders (Less than 50 messages each) but no dice. Any one else having difficulties with windows live and hotmail, or know of a fix for this issue?
I know the server isnt broken because i can sync sent items and contacts...
Trim them down some more. Same thing happened to me. I think Microstink changed server settings and won't synch a heavily loaded inbox. I have only 26 items in hotmail inbox now and it works fine.
I thought they took care of the heavily loaded inbox by only displaying last 50 msgs...
Any who, slimmed inbox to 21 messages, and still no sync "Failed to synchronize Inbox"
Surprisingly junk email did sync with only 5 messages... Ill slim down my inbox some more, bur will be upset if my inbox will only sync with 5 msgs.
It worked after slimming inbox to 4 msgs. whats the point.
Had 25 emails in my inbox and it brok'd again... Boo . Is there another way to sync hotmail besides going to mobile live via PIE, or using mobile live?
This is ridiculous, i would say its an issue with my build current build of Windows Live Mobile, but sent items and junk mail are syncing now... Its the inbox that wont sync. It seems to be very enigmatic.
Anyone having luck syncing hotmail/live inbox with other builds of Windows Live Mobile? If so what build are you using? What rom are you running?
Thanks in advance,
James
This happened all of a sudden for me... I don,t think it's a ROM issue but a server issue. Might be a good time to consider using Gmail. I don't have this issue with my Gmail account.
Not a bad idea .
Hotmail seems to be working ATM. I'm gonna have it do syncs every 15 min for the next day or so.
Opened a gMail account as well, nice that they have imap!
What's the maximum attachment limit for Hotmail on mobile?
It doesn't seem to bother with anything bigger than 2MB... how lame!
Kinda makes HSDPA pointless lol
I've always had problems with Windows live, first setup it syncs flawlessly then nothing but fails. Totally useless. Like you say whats the point in having to log in via PIE, clear your emails out, then re-sync. I'm absolutely amazed that Microlimp haven't sorted this out yet I mean come on its not like people receive less that 5 messages a day what with spam and whatnot.
Useless.
The only solution I think is to forward all your mails to a Gmail account, but im pretty sure that's not a free service, nothing in life usually is.
Live Mail won't download
I've been running into the same problem where my hotmail account won't download. The symptoms are that the email account works fine (access from a PC always works), then suddenly poof, my phone won't synchronize with the server anymore.
On the WindowsMobile website, this is a known problem with the email service and MSFT is trying to fix it, but it's still broken.
The workaround is to find the offending piece of email that is causing the logjam. Once it's been moved to a non-synchronizing folder or has been deleted, Live Mail downloads just fine again. The problem is finding the offending piece of email. For expediency, I just copy ALL my mail to another folder, just to get the downloading working again. I have not found the characteristics that cause the problem, but I do know it doesn't happen to simple text emails.
I've been having problems with this for the last month, very annoying.
AutoSync
So far so good, with auto syncs every 15 min. Hopefully it will last, or at least allow me to find out what mail is causing the sync to break... I didn't know that there are bugs in Windows Live, (or perhaps it !is! a feature to have sync break) maybe it should be degraded back to beta.
I have been having this problem for the last few days, thanks for the notice that it was due to an e-mail jamming it up.
It was my e-mail coming from skyfire, the one telling me to log in and dowload the beta.
I deleted it, and it is working just fine now.
Autosync
Autosync-ing every 15 min or so seems to do the trick, so far for me. Haven't had any issues since cleaning out my inbox and setting up auto sync.
* Damn, didnt realize that i get so much cr*p!
Hello,
Can anyone tell me how you use the agenda birthday reminder with HTC Diamond ? I've just bought the phone and sync it with mail2web (outlook exchange service on Internet). The phone is not reminding me birthdays which is annoying me...
Before, I was using TYNT II with Spb Diary plugin which was great ! It was showing the coming birthdays and also ringing the D-day.
I read that other Diamond users had also this kind of issue. To solve it they manage birthday's on Outlook contact (on their computer) to generate entire day event and then sync it with their phone.
Do you know another way to get this reminder work ?
Thank you
i HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM... HOW CAN i USE BIRTH REMINDER ON TOUCH FLO.
ANY BODY KNOW???
LEO
It seems that no one else has this kind of problem....
i do, but i haven't any solutions for this ****ty bug
Finally I've manually created reminders in the calendar...
I have all the birthday in the Outlook (like meeting)
and all ok after sync the Phone with the Outlook (to outlook exchange server at work via the Internet)
Just open the Outlook and add new Item in the Calender , cycle it evey year as u add the item (Press on the Recurrence button), that all ...
I have added birthdays to my contacts in outlook. Is there away to make those show up on the today screen? its kinda odd the calender is only for meetings or perhaps i am missing something here.
I assume i could add birthdays by hand in outlook but that kinda defeats the idea when you can have it all in the contact info.
Regards
I use Birthdays 1.2.10, so I don't need to touch the calendar.
http://pda.jasnapaka.com/birthdays/
I know Birthdays 1.2.10 but this programm don't work with manila3d
becaus all today pugins don't work with manila3d
The funniest thing
In also seem to have a birthday related problem.
I bought my diamond several months ago and synced it with my compu (outlook 2007). I just yet noticed it didn't sync all my birthday info. (The info is in he contacts, the birthdays just aren't coming up in my calender, neither on my compu nor on my phone ).
Is there a way to 'update' the calender in such way all birthdays come back to my calender?
Thanks in advance!
Hi all,
If you enter the birthday in outlook contacts, normally a all day event will be created in outlook. please check if this is ok. finally i have turn off the reminders for this events, because the alarm will go on at 11.45 pm by default. This all day events appears on my home sreen in TF3D.

maybe U can to use a software like mToday and to have 2 Today profiles ... one with manila and other with regular WinMo plugins
http://mobile-sg.com/software/?p=mToday&platform=ppc
I think you need to synchronise it with outlook on your pc for it to take effect. Outlook on the phone isn't smart enough to figure it out by itself apparently, but I've just synched it with my pc, it's showing up in the calendar in outlook and in the calendar on the phone.
Is it possible that there is no any simple WM application to check contacts evey day for birthdays.
Pocket PC should be smarter than some "smartphones"
Hi,
I don't know anymore what to do. Is it so that Mobile Outlook doesn't give option to set IMAP path prefix? And we are living year 2008. I have couple of webhotels and both of them is storing mails under /usr/blaablaa/mail and under blaablaa/ is public_html etc. Now when i configure my account to HTC Touch Pro, it gets all folders and its taking forever.
Is there any solution? I think i'm not the only one with this problem.
Hey everyone,
Google recently released official sync support for Windows Mobile devices. Google Sync supports synchronization with Google Calendar and Google Contacts. Instructions can be found here.
The issue is that the instructions and respective screen shots do not correspond with the Touch Flo interface, and I see no way of inputting a server address within the Diamond's ActiveSync client.
Does anyone know how to set up Google Sync with the Diamond? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
Elliot
Just follow the instructions from the link you provided.
I will start you off:
Start>Programs>ActiveSync>Menu>Add Server Source....
..and then follow the instructions from your link!
Thank you! I was confused because it asked for my email address before the server address. My calendar and contacts synced almost perfectly, but I still have a couple of issues that maybe you could resolve:
1. Despite that everything synced, ActiveSync shows an "Attention required" message that says,
"Synchronization could not be completed. If this condition persists, try deleted and then re-creating the device's sync relationships.
Support code:0x80004005"
2. Is there anyway to get the Diamond's calendar application to recognize and distinguish between the multiple calendars I have in Google Calendar?
Thanks again,
Elliot
Google sync is used only for contacts and calendar sync, so if you check the mail or task in the option of activesync, you will have an error.
Just check contact and calendar and enjoy.

I've had no luck in getting this to work. Always get this error 'ActiveSync cannot reach the server. Check that the server address and proxy server settings are correct' Support code: 0x80072F78
Any ideas?

It will work as I've tried it setting up sever on the diamond, but you can also do it via activync.
I have stopped using it as I would get a couple of good syncs then the same error messages as your getting.
Also google and outlook do not play nice with each other.
All my contacts revert to Lastname_Firstname on my diamond, and the "file as" gets messed up.
fadge
Just configured the sync options on my Diamond (1) with WM6.5. But the contact sync works fine, but none of my google calendar items will appear in the calendar of my Diamond.
Is this due to WM6.5? Or are there other possibilities?
Well I successfully synchronized my HTC Diamond. But after this the ActiveSync on my handset would start automatically after regular intervals creating memory issues for me. I tried all the methods available on this forum to solve this problem but finally I had to Hard-Reset my handset. So pls try this on ur own risk.
I just configured my phone to sync every 4hr on and off-peak times, but only told it to sync contacts and it seems to be working pretty well.
Hopefully, this will reduce the amount of time it spend syncing and then I can let OggSync manage my calendar. Unfortunately, I synced my calendar and contacts first so I now have a bunch of duplicate events on my google calendar.
I wish I had know about this months ago... doh! Thanks!
