Please help, no connection or sound - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

I just recently got my phone, put the new 1.37 firmware on it. Everything's been completely fine, but just randomly yesterday my phone stops picking up my provider. It picks up the provider every now and then, but now it doesn't even do that. I try to call somebody when i do have service but there's no dialtone and phone just hangs up on me. And now I can't even connect to my provider. I don't know whats wrong.
I have a perfect cell phone, why would it stop connecting to the service provider, and why would my speaker not work even though I can hear sounds from the phone?

Phone not working, but showing that i have a signal

My first full day using the phone. Hadnt had an issue until this evening. For some reason i can not make a call. Im in an area that only gets edge, but it shows i have three bars. When i try to make a call it never rings or says connected, it simply ended after about 7 seconds or so. I can however browse the internet or watch my slingbox on the phone so it seems my connection is good. I tried a hard reset, but issue remains. If i try to make a call it will go through maybe once out of every 20 attempts.
I saw a few similar threads, but nothing like this. Anyone have any thoughts?
apparently there is a huge outage in the NYC metro area with cingular. So, thankfully its not the phone. way to go cingular!
im having a similar problem on fido in Vancouver, tho i dont think its as bad as yours. intermittent phone use at best.
I am having the same problem as well. It just says dialing but no tone. I remove the battery and it works again. But a day later and then it starts to act up again.
I was advised to update my sim card since its 3 years old now.
I am with Fido in Montreal Quebec Canada.

Unable to make a call in GSM network - works in 3G

My TyTN II is no more than one month old. Radio and ROM are all stock and I never tried any custom ROMs nor did I install hardSPL on it. The problem is all of a sudden I can't make any calls. If I dial a number it just says Call Ended following with couple of silent beeps. If someone call me they got to my voicemail. The strange thing is that after couple of retries, it works, I can make a call but then after another try, it stops working again.
In all that time, sending and receiving SMS works normally.
And now the very strange part of the problem. If I switch to 3G mode, everything is ok. No problems at all. If I switich back to GSM only mode, the problem is back.
I've contacted HTC in my country (I'm somewhere in Europe ) and all they can say is, hard reset your phone and if that does not work, send it for repair.
I consider that a valid response and I'm about to do just that but before I go and erase all of my applications and settings from my phone (which will take me ages to get them back) I was wondering if someone has previous experiance with this sort of a problem and if it can be fixed without hard reseting the phone.
I have the same issue but when I turn G3 mode ON. I can not make call with auto G3 mode on (I have to try a lot of times to make a simple call). If I use only GSM its works ok.
Zol
I have the same problem, i cannot make a call on 3g network only on GSM. I took the phone to the service and they said i had to change the motherboard it costs ~335 EUR. F*ck
Can anybody tell me an alternative solution?

XDA2 Pocket PC Phone - NO service

I'm using imate pda2k device.
wm pro 6.5 is the operating system.
The device was working smoothly until a week ago.
the question: the phone function does not work. sent me sms comes, I can send sms. But I can not receive calls and make calls on. To even make a call, even numbers and contacts will not open.
Bluetooth had no problem connecting to GSM networks, but the exclamation was inserted. From the LED is blinking but the screen seemed to connect to the network that still has delusions of trying to connect. I like my phone is ringing like a phone call to another party, but on the phone to the sound goes nothing, I can even connect to the internet , but the normal phone functions does not work.
please help me
Did u check your battery?
Wrong forum.. this is for the XDA2i....
Weird fault though!

[Q] Samsung Captivate calling problem on the 3 (Three) Network

I have brought two phones to the UK. Both of them are Samsung Captivates, one of which has Eclair, and the other has Froyo. I recently purchased a SIM card from the 3 (Three) Network and except for a small APN problem. Everything seemed to be working fine. Recently, I've been periodically unable to make calls from either of the phones. Text messaging and internet over the 3G network work fine, but when I try to call, it looks as though it connects, but I can't hear anyone and they can't hear me. If a friend calls me, I do see an incoming call on my phone, but when I pick up, we can't hear each other. I've noticed that when I reboot my phone after having the SIM card removed for a while, it connects for the first call made, and both people can hear each other, but after that first call, it goes back to not working. Has anyone here had a similar issue, or have any idea what could be causing this?
By the way, I was on the phone with 3 (Three) customer support, and they had me completely reset one of the phones, and the problem still happened. Also, I put in a SIM card that I knew was working, so it seems to me that it must be some weird compatibility issue with the Captivate, although I can't imagine why, because it's a phone almost exactly like the i9000 in Europe and the UK, and should be able to work fine with any network.

Losing mobile network, strange problem

I bought a 2nd hand Z3 Compact recently and it seemed to work fine. But I noticed after a day or two that it was dropping the mobile network. When it happens I get only ”Only emergency calls” and no bars for signal in the status field.
I've noticed the net disappears after I've made a call or two (rarely can do 2 calls in a row). As soon as I hang up, the net drops.
If I restart it might work again, or if I shut down the phone and start it after a while, also sometimes when removing SIM card and putting it back in again.
I can send SMS/texts and surf as long as I don't call or recieve calls, then the net is gone as soon as I hang up.
Anyone knows why this problem occurs?
Software problem? I have done a factory reset but it's still the same.
Would anything change if I downgrade and root?
Hardware problem?
How do I go about to troubleshoot this, both software and hardware?
It's a D5803, 23.5.A.1.291, Android 6.0.1
The SIM card is new, I have tried it in an older phone with a SIM adapter and it works. Though the older phone uses only 3G.
Grateful for answers!
