I am trying to figure out which Diamond Rom works best on the Kaiser. I am looking for speed and reliability. So far I have only used L26's rom V5 and V9. I would prefer a rom with MS Voice Command but I can install that later if needed. Thanks everyone.
Hyperdragon for me
I have found great speed and most importantly stability with Hyperdragons ROM. They are not bloated and you can install what you need on them. After trying and flashing roms every week, i have been hanging on to the last Hyperdragon that I installed since last 30 days. Its remarkable for me.
And it seems to be going strong.
And someone else will reply that he loves another ROM, I'm hooked on ROMeOS for example.
Really, the best thing to do is to try out a few, you'll find out what is important for you, and you'll end up with a ROM that YOU will like.
Well I appreciate everyones input. I have only tried L26's Roms. I am in the process of trying Hyperdragons and will try your recommendation next. Thanks again.
Check my ROM thread. It will be updated daily.
I hope that i can finish all Cooked 6.1 ROM's till friday. Ill do my best.
Yeah, You were not kidding when you said Ultimate thread. I saved it to my favorites. Since there are so many, do you yourself have a preference? I have tried L26 V5 and V9. V5 was the most stable for me, V9 has some issues for my device. I have also tried HyperDragon III 1.1.6 version which has been decent and has great graphics. I think I may try Duttythroy's next.
I've found Dutty's Diamond to be the quickest on my Tilt.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398271
I tried a recent version of hyperdragon and it was sickeningly fast. Never thought it'd be possible on the tilt. But it had issues with wmp crashing the phone, which I believe is fixed now. I've tried sleuth's, but it's not diamond I don't believe. Was quite slow (too old I guess). Hopefully new version coming soon will haul ass. Am on l26 right now and it's fast compared to older roms, but dog slow compared to hyperdragon. Quite stable though and I love the look of the stock diamond. Glossy black almost
i tried em all
Hyperdragon IIIs or IIIr for me!
I believe SJ is coming out with a new one sometime soon. sweeeeeeeeet
Garmin ROM 1.2
I have tried lot of ROMS (even Dutty's) for kaiser, but what I found the best ROM is Garmin ROM 1.2 till now.
Gullum's ThrottleDiamond
Try Gullum's Throttle Diamond Rom. I've tried all of the previously mentioned ones and enjoyed most, but Gullum's gives you more functionality similar to a diamond in my opinion.
Getting used to the Throttle Launcher will be your only challenge if you have not had experience with it before.
Good luck!
From the Diamond ROM's I've tried... I think HyperDragon IIIs is the best, mainly because of it's stability. It is based on 19591. The others I've tried are Dutty v1, Garmin DK1.2 and L26 v8... which are all based on 19588.
My humble opinion
Hey guys,
Everytime I switch to a rom that is expected to be really good I end up with a laggy, slow, buggy device.
I tried almost every rom on this site and nothing really works for me.
I am looking for a ROM that is stable and somewhat up-to-date. Maybe manilla 2.1 or something. I really don't like all the new LEO roms, they are SO slow and buggy I don't even understand how some of you can deal with them.
What's the secret? or is my device just faulty and slow?
Can you name a ROM that you found to be fast and not too ugly? I also need 'some' eyecandy. Speed is of course the most important aspect.
Kind Regards
Thomas
Touch X 10.1 is the way to go...very stable, fast and looks good (especially the MrRusch blue theme).
I've tried many of the roms on this forum but yet always flash back to Touch X 10.1. If there was ever a perfect 6.1 rom this is it

Same here -tried almost every rom - jack v3.11 using now fast, smooth, no freezes. With HDwall you can change background see screenshots: http://mackosorbar.extra.hu/sex1.htm
Yep, jack v3.11, then either use the included TF3D or use SPB Mobile Shell.
I found Touch X 10.1 to be a dream really but I hoped that all the new stuff will help create a comprehensive rom that is also fast. I must have been mistaken. Some of those highly rated roms out there are a TRUE nightmare. I just don't get why people seem to like them.
When you try to navigate from one TF3D tab to another you get stuck 200 times + it randomly gets really laggy and then you have to restart.
I think I wll give jack a try.
the reason many are slow and buggy are because the manilla nd lots of other things in them are not actually finished by HTC yet nor is wm6.5.x!
wait for manila 2.5 and wm6.5.x to actually complete before you flash another rom if you want ultimate stability!
i lcan live with it because, well i'm a flashaholic
Not to mention you can't really judge a rom based on a version.
One day the rom will work pretty well, the next day it's a new build + new manila, etc, etc and it has entirely different problems.
My solution is to cook my own rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=564743
As you know many chefs cook their roms based on what they like, not what users want. After all, everyone has different needs and the chefs cannot customize a rom for everyone. That's why I also released my source kitchen for customization.
Are you looking for WM6.1 or WM6.5 - based rom? I can find you some manila 2.1 packages and put into my kithcen so you can start customizing.
deleted (eh? wassup with this thread?)
Hey Exxi,
I think you have to realise that WM6.5 and the new manila are both in beta. This is really an explosive combination.
For example I have found that pure WM6.5 roms are rather stable. You can use SPB Mobile shell or PoinUI and all will be fine.
Some WM6.5 + Manila 2.1.19 roms are quite stable (I said quite), usually the 23016 builds.
All the Leo roms tend to have issues.
There are many reasons for this, none of which can be attributed to the cooks. In effect the cooks do a fantastic job at making the Leo ROMs as good as they are. I have great respect for them.
As everyone said, TouchX 10.1 is your best shot. That ROM is a work of art.
If you want an upgrade from that, you can try the WM6.1 + Manila 2.1.19 ROMS, such as Jack v.3.11 and TouchX 10.5/10.6. If you want more Eye candy, play around with some nice themes, add some applications.
Alternatively get yourself a squeaky fast WM6.5 rom (23016 or even 23053...or the recently released WM6.5 One off) and use SPB mobile shell + SPB Phone suite + Various resco apps. The result can be quite pleasing.
Alternatively, you can try becoming a Titanium expert. I personally have failed miserably at that...but again...I hear it can be quite pleasing.
P.s. One final word, I have been watching closely the WM6.5 + Manila 2.1.19 ROMs. I would like to point out that while there still is a noticeable difference in performance with the WM6.1+ Manila 2.1.19 ROMs, this gap is closing up rather quickly.
NRGZ28 manila 2.1 roms
Try NRGZ28 2.1 manila roms. Fase and stable. Few things to complain. Last version is 22.09.2009 standard 2.1. Works best for me.
G.
Here too, i tried a lot of roms during the first couple of months with my X1, then when i found TouchX 10 then 10.1 i stayed with them, now once a month i flash to one of those Beta 6.5 or Leo roms to see if i ever can find a new stable fast rom, but most of the times i get back to TouchX 10.1 after a couple of hours.
now i moved to TouchX 10.5 which is as much stable as the TouchX 10.1, the best ROMs ever
and my trick to do everything fast is to backup the entire rom before trying some other rom with SPB Backup, then when i reflash back to TouchX 10.1 i just do a full restore and i am back productive as before, all settings and apps are back in their place..

This is a good approach. I find myself returning to TouchX 10.1 all the time, too. I have finally managed to curb my flashing habit and only flash when I find a ROM that seems to have something I REALLY want to try.
Right now I am using Valkyrie 3.8.53 Leo since it allows me to use the latest version of the Dusk theme which I had to try out. Looks fantastic and it seems that the ROM is almost at the same usability level as Touch X 10.1 now, but not quite.
I don't think it will take much longer for manila 2.5 to be working as well as 2.1 and the latest builds of WM6.5 are also almost as good as 6.1. Still some teething issues, the biggest for me being the WM6.5 volume adjuster app which sucks IMHO.
The short but crude answer would be: stay away from Windows Mobile
No really, it's getting better by the day so there's hope.
Personally, I use mobilevu's V-Lite 4.3. It's a little older but works like a charm.
Titanium only, but I combine this with SPB 3 so I have a stable and snappy X1!
I keep hitting the same brick wall over and over again.
In long term, SE stock R3 tends to be most stable and bug-free. Jack's has been faster, but it has it's own share of bugs.
So after trying out about 10 ROMs every few months i land back on stock ROM and just customize it a bit.
TouchX 10.1, Is the Chosen One.
Using Valkirie 2.9 Firestorm. For me it's best ROM, i'm using this ROM already for more than month. Tried switching to 2.5 but new windows mobile design and 2.5 Leo is not usable as 2016 builds are and 2.1 Manila.
i always return to touch x 10.1
it is the best rom in terms of speed and stability.

V-Lite here also.Exactly as you told, This ROM+SPB and Resco stuff and one stable and hardworking X1 since one month ago. I can use Titanum whenever I want though. I think mobilevu is waiting for the official release of WM6.5. I hope he comes back to upgrade his ROM at that time.

Agreed: The best 6.1 is probably Touch X 10.1. Master Smaberg was very good.
6.5 is a different beast. There are MANY GREAT ROM's out there. Each has its own 'issues'. You can usually find the best ROM for 'you' by defining what it is you need in your phone. And go for it.
My needs are, in order, Phone, email, sms, internet, fast, pretty. For these I have found NRG ROMs work best for me.
Christians, Valkyre, Tornado, Jack, and others ALL make good ROMs. Each has an issue that impacts my basic needs. BUT...I try each of their new ones..!!!
I've tried over 10 different ROM's now, and I just can't seem to be satisfied. I've come to the realization that I shouldn't use TF3D, no matter how much I love it. It is just too slow. But even ROMs without it, are slow and laggy. Maybe I just haven't found the right one yet, which brings me to ask the question... (title)
I'm suprised there isn't some sort of poll for custom ROMs >.<
I recommend UnOff! but thats just me because i value my battery life and it seems to suck the least or it may be a placebo effect because there isnt the 1% increment thing. But never-the-less UnOff! i think touch X is good too, but i prefer a clean wm 6.5 look
I tried Touch X twice, the Legendary was nice, but both seemed to lag a lot. I have UnOff now, it's alright, but I'm hoping for smoother.
Unoff V11 is a simply amazing. Install what u want and god like speed.
make that 1 more for UnOff but you can also try christians rom he cooks clean roms as well although i never got a chance to try them because i kept to the UnOff series
Still working on it, installed SPB and it slowed signifigantly. Wish I could run the lifestyle panel without all the excessive unnecessary stuff that runs along with it.
I ran Christian's clean ROM once, didn't like it. UnOff is still best so far, just needs to be smoothed a bit more.
He said hes working on v12 and that it should be released within 2weeks
UnOff is still best so far, only until v11 still has problems on the phone canvas
I've tried a number of customs roms since having my X1 but always swear by MrRusch's Touch X series...currently using 10.7.4 which I find fast, responsive and stable, and I find has a slight edge speed wise over 10.8.2 (although it could be my imagination)
jacks V4.6Medium is the best.
anyone recommend me 6.1rom because i dont like 6.5 look and its always slower than 6.1.... please....... im so tired of switching rom
Why UnOff? I'm certain Touch X 10.1 will beat that in terms of speed (6.1 is faster than 6.5, unfortunately) unless this can be proven otherwise?
hello, i've a question, what are the pro's and cons with 6.5?
and can i still use al my software what works on 6.1?
Jack V4.5 Lite?
i dont actually have UnOff i dont know what its actually like , but by reading the posts , its really stable & fast . but it drains the battery.
i'd try BareBone SEX1 , or Jack V4.5 Lite
Jacks Lite's really light and quick.. so i'd recommend that...
try jack V4.5 Lite or V4.6 medium !

drains battery????? lol i think u need to read again
i challenge you to the battery test
I think it has the BEST battery life of all the roms i used, touch x, energyrom.
Why hasn't anybody suggested PCTech4U (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=536551&highlight=pctech+4u) yet?
It's easily the fastest and smoothest rom I have ever used, even after installing all your crap on it it doesn't get slower.
This rom is very underrated. It is WinMo 6.1 , yes, but the menus and start menu etc. are all much more finger friendly.. (come to think of it, I can't remember the last time I used my stylus). It also has better battery life than all those WinMo 6.5 roms.
Just try it. Trust me, you won't regret it.
10 votes for UnOff Series!
I previously try Energy, Valkyre and other available ROMs published here... finally; on my first touch with UnOff 11, I think I will stay use it... Fast, really responsive, stable & very good battery life! Swear! I recommend you for daily use...
Just my testimony
After lots of flashings and cleanings, (removing and cleaning a bunch unnecessary apps and other B..S..ts), all roms are seemd to be lagy and slow.
Despite nice look of manilla 2.5, (or whatever variant of it was on ROM), and it's fingerfriendly behavior there are tons of software what gives bad responsiveness and slows it down.
Twitter, Footprint, Stocks, and likewise bullsh.t are not the apps that everyone needs on the phone. I even haven't account on facebook and other social networks, therefore I do need that. It is like carrying a bag full of stones in a desert, instead enough of water.
That is my opinion.
Finally I've found PCTech4You rom, based on WinMo 6.1, with Manilla 2.1, and some other sweeties. There are, (as in all other roms), yet more unnecessary thingies, but I can live with. At leest until I manage to cook my own rom.
So I think PCtech4You could be my favor, and the most shiny, (but most laggy too), are Energy and Walkrye.
Hi all,
I have been flashing ROMs for a while now, but just recently I'd say the last 4 ROMS i've tried all seem to be very slow and jerky on the graphics.
I was mainly using maryone ROMS and they seemed fine initially, but with all the 235** and 2400* ROMS it all seems very slow.
I'm using the Energy ROM at the moment and it seems better but still not great in terms of speed.
Is this just me or is anyone else getting it as well?
I remember reading a while ago about having to re-flash an original ROM occasionally, but can;t find any info on it when searching.

Slow ROMS
I've also been flashing ROMS for some time now and whilst the 6.5 ROMs are considerably better than when they were first ported across from other phones, they do seem to have reached a point where they just don't seem to get any faster.....is it time to upgrade the hardware (ie new phone) or does anyone think the ROMS can get any faster.
I've flashed just about every cooks rom and almost inevitably move on after awhile being disappointed - by the speed.
Thats said I think all the cooks have done a cracking job of improving the touch hd.
Currently using:-
G10's Evo v2.00 WM_24001_ Leo 2.09_2.5.20121412.1
well no wonder you're disappointed about the speed, you're running a heavy UI, sense 2.5
go for sense 2.1 or even win mob 6.1, and your hd will speed up!
agree with burobernd. Although of course it is personal opinion, i always go for speed over the ;latest' packages.
i just cant use sense 2.5 for everyday use, way too slow!
I generally use Topix (the WM6.1 / Sense 2.1 combo - this appears to be the fastest, but there are lots of different combo's on offer), but at the moment I am using blackstonehenge v3.4. it has WM6.5.x and sense 2.1
although not as fast as topix, it is useable, the best 6.5.x i have tried, and i like the big bottom taskbar

Search on wiki here for Stock ROM flashing.
Make sure you know what ROM you are flashing and what Radio works best for you before you flash the ROM.
Try hard reset twice after flashing your ROM's cuz it helps sometimes. If you are frequently going between 6.1 and 6.5, I suggest you flash to stock ROM and then start flashing again.
I;'ve been using 6.5 but both the 235** and 218** coms.
I haven;t flashed back to 6.1 in a long time, because quite frankly it sucks compared to 6.5.
I always do a hard reset twice after Falshing and have done ever since I started, better safe than sorry.
I suppose I justr expect every increment in build to get faster, not slower, which appears to be the case recently.
The 24001 was supposed to be fast, but wasn;t for me.
I'm getting to the point wherre I just want a stable 6.5 with a sense ui designed for my CPU.
I get the impression alot of ROMS are using the leo builds, which kind of makes me think, it's not going to be fast on the Blackstone.
I'll keep trying new ROMs, I'm just hoping that MS will release and official 6.5 / 6.6 soon, as I'd expect that to be optimised more than most.
Thanks for the advice all.

Hi,
I recently downloaded the Xperileo rom off the xperia-unoff site.
I love the rom, its got a great interface and features. I really like the graphics of this rom and Id like to keep something like this, I think its called sense or manilla. I really dont know though its confusing.
There is one or twos problem however.
1. The phone keeps freezing, requiring me to open the back of it and use the reset button. This is dangerous as if my family calls, I may not receive the call. This absolutely needs fixing. Is there a stable rom that will not freeze or have these problems that has the same type of scrolling or a really nice GUI like this one I am using ?
2. The other problem is that the interface is pretty slow, with text messaging being really slow to respond, and menus freezing for a few seconds.
If someone could recommend a stable but attractive rom I would be very appreciative. Stability and usability are top.
Thanks
Christof
You gotta test yourself a couple of ROMs. That's the best answer.
I've tried almost every rom here.
Energy and Valkyrie are both overbloated and unstable. Xperileo is unstable as well. Almost every rom with manila sense is unstable slow and rendering it almost unusable.
Try the 826x rom, it's the best one and has most stability i've seen in a rom. ♥
Also touch x is pretty good if your looking for absolute speed on manila.

u sound like me a couple of years back..anyways..Wildchild's ROM (Unavailable here on XDA) is by far the most stable Manila (now called Sense UI) ROM.
However if u dont want a Sense UI (HTC phone interface), i would suggest XPURE III OR II.
PM me if u still have problems.
All the best.
the best solution for your problem is use the original r3a rom.fastest rom whithout any bug .stable .I've tried all xda roms, after that I back to r3a rom.
Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the replies I do appreciate it.
It sounds like Manilla is a bit unstable, which is not safe for me.
What about windows 6.5. Whats the most stable or a very stable rom with nice icons? Dont care about the manilla stuff compared to stability. Just need something that never freezes.
Thanks again
Cheers
Christof
You CAN have pretty stable Sense/Manilla interface ROMs.
It's just that they are pretty much hit or miss. One version can be stable and reliable and another, issued 3 days later (and having replaced the earlier version) can be a mess.
I just recently started flashing ROMs and my experiences have been good so far. I have mostly played with the beautiful ENERGY ROMs and some have been good, some bad.
The Sense UI may not be a speed demon, but is gorgeous and works (although something like SPB Mobile Shell might be faster - not as good looking though). But the true differnce for me is in the speed of programs running. For me they work MUCH faster under ENERGY ROMs then on the stock ROM. This is most noticable with my GPS software which was slow, laggy and unstable under stock ROM, while is very reliable and works great under ENERGY ROMs.
My advice is to just find a good ROM that suits you and keep it, rather then enter the constant reflashing cycle. Some Sense ROMs are very stable.

I find Russell Eclair XPure II to be a little slow compared with jerpelea's X2 port.
The only issue I have with jerpelea's ROM is the first times someone is calling me. I can' answer the phone and I have to pull out the battery. But after 1-2 days it works like a champ (without using Slideview, the X2 addition to panels).
If you want something fast and stable look for a clean ROM (like Laurenti's ROM, 23.08.2010 version used for 2 weeks with no problem, and really fast) or R3A ROM.
Cheers!

I still maintain that Touch X 10.1 is the best rom out there.
It does exactly what I need. Great battery life, great speed and never had a freeze or SOD with it (EVER!).
Yes the graphics are a little outdated but I am willing to put up with that in exchange for the 3 above.
