Hi,
after an hard reset when i turn on my tom tom the diamond connects the gprs and stay a lots of time to get the satellites.
Before the reset the time took to get the satellites was minimun and never turn it on the gprs.
Anyone knows why? And how i can put it back to normal?
Its expensive and not usual need the gprs to work with a gps.
My datebase of gps are in day.
Regards and thanks for the help.

Hi was in vodafone shop yesterday, looking at v1615 and got talking about GPS. I assumed that mobile GPS involves phone and software and thats all spending done the guy in the shop said that GPS involves connection hence a data charge, is this true and what approx is the average data charge.
Thanks
Marc
GPS itself does not use the cellular radio. If you get a standalone GPS app, there is no data charge. You can confirm this if you want by turning off the phone, wifi, and bluetooth radios, then using GPS. If you use the App included on the AT&T tilt, this application connects to the internet to download map data, and you will be charged for data. Applications like Garmin XT, or many other available applications do not use data connections at all.
Jozer99, Do you have any reccommended GPS software for the kaiser?
The most common seem to be tom tom and co-pilot
tomtom and garmin...its free to use...but ur gonna have to purchase it before hand...but after that its free to use day to day
I'm having a problem with my diamond, at work I connect to the wifi hotspot there but I don't get very good signal, tested with another device(ipod touch) and it has full signal and works without disconnecting. Mine disconnects randomly when it looses the signal completely. I'm using stock wwe 1.93 rom with radio 1.08.25.08. Is there a way to make Wifi work better? Maybe changing the radio will fix it? I saw in another thread that weak wifi signal would be the cause of a disconnected wifi antenna inside the phone. I really don't wanna slice open my phone as I'm pretty noob at this. Any other recommendations would be great! Thanks in advance
does anybody know how to try and fix this?
try your Wifi with an AP at home and if you have the same problem, use your warranty. You can try with the programm Wififofum to see the Db that your phone is indicating near the AP (10->80 DB ( 80 is far of the AP)). I hope it will help you.
Hi everyone,
I'm running on the Nav n Go iGO 8 on the PDA Corner Ultimate XV3 (May 7th) with the 1.65.24.36 Radio and iGO is having issues. aGPS is enabled and it is able to acquire satellite signals but then it freezes when i click street name when entering the destination. However, when aGPS is disabled it cannot acquire signal period as if the GPS unit is non-existent.
HELP
A-GPS
Hi
I can't get iGo8 to work with A-GPS enabled unless I start another program that switches the GPS receiver on and wait for a fix. Even then it's buggy and I have to restart the program every now and then. It is useable though. I find that iGo8 works perfectly with A-GPS switched off. Try waiting for a valid GPS fix before starting iGo8.
Cheers

I'm really astonished that this is happening...and I can't figure out why. My neighbors just got a wireless router hooked up, and i get about 1 bars worth of signal at my house. It is an unsecured connection and my Kaiser keeps connecting to it whenever I turn on Wifi. It will no longer connect to my wifi network no matter what I do. I click on my network in wifi settings and hit 'connect' and then it connects to my neighbors again...I delete it, start over...and no matter what I do it always connects to it. It's obviously some sort of glitch...any ideas on how to fix without a hard reset which is what I'm about to do because it is so frustrating. Everything I use is wireless, and nothing else was affected...just my Kaiser. Anyone had this happen to them before?

get your own internet connection and stop stealing signal from your neighbors!.
On another note, try to set your connection instead of best battery try best performance settings>wifi>advanced>power(sorry dude, if these are not the correct names, but I'm on my touch 2 phone with WM 6.5 spanish rom ..)
I'm on stock AT&T Tilt Rom WM6.1 I've tried all settings available through the Windows UI. So it must be somewhere in the registry that I need to change. I can delete all networks and scan for new ones...two come up...mine, and the new (neighbors)...I've been connecting to mine automatically for years now....and even if I click connect on my network...after its all said and done with the logging in...it connects to the wrong one still...grrrrr
I know SGS has a lot of issue with GPS. Here's mine. I've cold start and standalone set-up in lbs test mode. Now the problem is it'll lock on to satellites in a matter of 20sec with 15m accuracy only when connected to wi-fi couldn't check for gprs since sgs doesn't save my apn =(. But with wi-fi switched off it doesn't speak to any satellites forget about getting a lock on them. Doubt here is, isn't standalone mode supposed to be GPS working without any data connection of any sort or am I missing something here? Kindly clarify. Also what does MS based and MS assisted mean in the test mode. Checked for GPS with Network Provider selected in test mode. I get accuracy of 3.8km here at my home....
Thanks & Regards

I just tested indoors (rainy here) and the SGS did get a lock. I've switched off cellular data and wifi, cleared the AGPS data with "GPS Status", and it took a long time (few minutes) to get a lock.
But that was indoors, where it always takes a bit longer to get a lock.
I tried it outside last evening and it would only see the sat's no lock =|
