I love Hbutton from you can launch apps when pressing telephone hard button. But you can only assign 5 apps and only to this button.
Is there any way to customize more buttons with Hbutton?
Is there any similar software with the possibility of customizing all hard buttons? I'm looking for one small application like Hbutton, do not want a huge program like spb pocket plus.
No apps?? nothing?
The ONLY application I know that works for now is AEButton Plus, sadly it isn't freeware and not as good as HButton.

I am thinking about getting AE Button Plus.
I have two things I want to map a button to that I cannot figure out how to do. Both I can do with SPB Plus that I have installed, but if I map one of the buttons with AE, it completely overrieds teh SPB mapping.
ONe is I wan tto call up SPB Contacts. I can only find Contacts app, which is the default contacts. From SPB Button mapping, it shows up as [SPB contacts]. I can't figure out what that is really calling in order to point AE buttons to it.
The other is Backlight Loop. Same Situation, from SPB, it looks like [Backlight Loop].
Any ideas?
(I tried to search on AE Buttons, but no matter how I put it in I got all these messages with just Button in it, so having to post w/o much pre-reading. I need to learn how to search for phrases on forums that don't offer boolean options.)
SPB creates shortcuts that are dependent on action sender. So you won't find it without SPB.
Well, either I was blind, or one of them showed up. I do see a few [] ones for SPB in the apps list. So I can call SPB Contacts, but still not the [Backlight Loop].

One thing I can do wiht the AE Button Plus is call a program with a paramater. I wonder if I might be able to call an SPB program with the [Backlight Loop], or somethign, as a parameter.
You know the Back key directly next to the home key? I have absolutely no use for it so I want to assign it to something else.
Is there a way?
Search is your friend - AEButton Plus
Well, AEButton Plus doesn't work when TF3D is active, so let me elaborate:
Is there a way to assign a function to the Back Key that also works on the home screen as well as the applications?
It absolutely does my head in when i find all these apps running in the background sucking up battery paower when i thought i had closed them off.
there must be a way to re-map one of the hard keys that kills all running apps in ONE HIT!
sorry guys if there a post asking for this already but I have searched & searched for what would, in my mind anyway, appear to be soething really simple & definitely a necessary tweak.
I have it so the X button closes the app rather than minimizes them, not had a problem with apps not closing with this other than the photo Album not closing.
i would prefer a hard key... i fat fingers & that tiny little icon in the top ight hand corner is just too bloody small!
Without the use of a task manager program there would be no way of doing this. I've used magic button and SPB Pocket Plus before and both of these will allow you to do this.
To be honest tho the quick list (top right) in TF3D has a big X button that closes all current buttons, so in my opinion no point bogging phone down installing big programs like SPB Pocket Plus if you are only going to use that one feature.
There is a small app called "close all" which I had on my old artemis mapped to a HW button with AEButton plus, you could also use HButton for the mapping. I can't find a link to "close all" at the moment, you will have to google it unless some kind person can post it. However I find the built in x button works well enough for me.
If you assign a button to Oxios CloseApps it will do exactly what you want, and compact your RAM too. Also on the page is Oxios Hibernate which will compact (reclaim) your RAM without closing any open apps. These are essential!

First of all, thanks for all good advices and programs from you guys!
My question: How could I remap the Home button to go to SPB Now instead of WM Today?
Thanks an Happy New Year!
Remap...
You can use this application, which uses the touch panel to scroll in apps and use the four hardware buttons to launch apps by touch, thus giving you 4 buttons to map applications to. It's worth a look at least.
I've not heard of anyone actually remapping the 'Home' key itself.
you probably cannot remap home key unless you modify its keypad driver. By the time I bought this, I also thought I could remap or hook the hardware keys to other actions as other WM devices can but it does it in an unusual way that limit the possibility of the OS itself. Moreover, the keys often does not response or response wrongly, you just cannot rely on them as you could on other PDA.
try dredsensor!
it works~ but it doesnt go well with my BSB WM6.5 rom's titanium screen. can scroll or use arrow (up or down) on the titanium.

I find it annoying having to press OK all the time then going to task manager (which is laggy and have to wait for it to load up the running pprograms).. any light on this?
You can use a third party task manager like Showcase (free), and assign it to a soft key.
Also, AEButtons Plus has an Alt+Tab function that is assignable to many different keys. It also has a Switch to next app function.
I'm sure there are many others.
Showcase, Taskfacade, and Alt-Tab, any of which could be mapped to one of the little silver keys.
