...but I want it to start Pocket Music 5 which is the player I use or even WMP. When I use Kaiser Tweak the default player only gives a choice between Audio Manager and WMP - how can I add Pocket Music to that to be able to select as default. However it does not matter which default I select using Kaiser Tweak as the RC E100 only operates the HTC Audio Manager.
Can someone please direct me to another possible registry entry that can fix this?
thanks guys
Didn't the remote only support windows media player?
no, doesnt support WMP. I tried to get it to run anything other than Audio Manager but as soon as you push any button on the remote unit, it starts up Audio Manager - regardless of whats running.
If I have Pocket Player running, the music is routed through the remote headset but it does not respond to any button pushes; again; it just starts Audio Manager.
Any suggestions? Is there a registry hack?
I'm in the same situation as you !
I contacted HTC, and they said the driver is developed to support only the Audio Manager. My contact having on the other phone a technician of HTC, I have asked to tell him to improve the driver to support other Media Player
But ... nothing moves ...
...bump..
anybody have any ideas please? or having same experience?
Cant believe there are only 2 of us with Kaisers using the new RC E100 headset?
I'm still waiting for mine
THough i like the audio manager

I got mine yesterday, using WMP on my Tilt though. I didn't have to install the included driver.
I thought it was possible? how did you get it to work on WMP?
I tried calling HTC support but less than worthless....
The Tilt doesn't have the HTC Audio Manager, just WMP.
I didn't do anything other than plug in the remote, hitting a button then launches WMP.
Can anyone please give me a clue as to where in the registry to look - I'll play around this weekend and see if I can come up with something BUT can one of the hotshots on this forum PLEASE give me an idea of WHERE in registry to start looking.

Hello,
I know that problem too. Have you, at least, identify which HTC driver is used (name ?).
Maybe we may developp one ourself.
Cheers,

Hi,
I have both AudioManager and WMP and when I press play on the remote AM starts but when WMP is started first the remote controls WMP. I didn't install driver form CD.
But on the other hand it would be great to control other apps with the remote. I tried many programs to capture E100 buttons but no luck. Only phone buttons can be used. I configured TCPMP to use them as next/previous.
I think intercepting communication between E100 and kaiser would give us some idea how does it work - is it USB or some kind of pulsing through button line of the EXTusb.

How I would solve this is to dump the register before pressing start and dump it after I had pressed start then use a comparing program and look up where in the register the change is made (triggered), then swap it whit the wanted program.

I'm not sure if pressing the button triggers any changes to the register. I was thinking more about taping into physical signals between Kaiser and E100 remote but this could lead to trashing the device in the process Or maybe someone asm literate will look into driver file using IDA to tell us what registry keys it points to.

Everything is logged, by dumping before/after is like to see what actually happened, once you spotted the change you go in and study the area of register. No need for a integrated development environment on this one as we know that this is what kaiser tweak do; change youre register... I suggested to make the changes that the register is sorted to run whatever player of own choice. This is one of many ways to do just that. And after you know the changes you can cab it and save it for another rainy day.
Hi,
Have anyone noticed AVRCP buttons ( next/previous and play pause buttons) not working in Pocketmusic and PocketPlayer. But they are working perfectly in TouchFlo3d music player and also Windows Media player.
Any fix?
I found this problem too as I always played pocketmusic; now I play my mp3s thru audio manager cause I don't know how to fix it, sorry.
that's weird, hope somebody could throw some light over this issue
no fixes yet? nobody got a clue?
is there button mapping options in Pocket Music player?
Would be great if this could be fixed
i am trying to link different applications with AVRCP / A2DP though without luck...
it did worked on Tytn II , though the Diamond seems not to offer the possibility to control 3rd party Multimedi applic's
Coreplayer 1.25 ; no AVRCP - only volume control
Pocket player 3.6 : same as above.
WMP -on board : all works, but the sound output is less than the above
I will try to associate file extensions with other programs and report back if this would solv.
i guess only disabeling Touchflo might solve this temporarely as a work around.
I have same troubles with CorePlayer too
When I connect my DS-970, its controls TF3D player tab
I try to disable this tab - CorePlayer didn't work correctly too
but WMP did! (
Reg tak request
I posted left and right requests to tweakers to have a look into this but without luck yet.
Advanced Config (or boinger66 add-ons for Advance Config 2.1) should be the most suitable solution though.
If you guys would liek to post a few other direct requests (no new thread yet) someone with the required knowledge might come up with something ..
DS980 VS HTC Daimond + Pocket music
I have got the same problem. Now, I post my problem to Pocketmind support team already. They said, they will get back to me. Actually, I am not advance user and this problem should be a known problem, unfortunately, I tried to search on many web by using google, hopeless!!
If I got any feedback from the support team, will share

There is option on the button mapping but it did not work with AVCRP bluetooth. It works on the handheld itself
Having same problem too.. have installed the WMP plug-in for Pocket player and enabled the workaround relating to play/pause for WMP A2DP in the config screen. However, still cannot use AVRCP to control Pocket Player from my Bluetooth car stereo.
Not a major issue, but it would be nice to get working as I've been impressed with PP so far and so will probably end up buying it.
Thx

I'm following this thread because I plan to buy a Touch Pro when it comes out in my area and I want PocketPlayer to work with the AVRCP on my new car stereo.
I saw from your post about Advance Config and I was curious if anybody tried setting the Default Music Player for the HTC Music Plugin setting? Does that help?
Advance Config can be downloaded here: http://www.touchxperience.com/
As I do not have a Touch Pro yet, I cannot test this, but I am curious about other's experiences solving this issue.
Until today, Pocketmind has not reply my question yet. May be, they could not figure out too. I posted my the same question in some other forum. One of the reply stated that I should find the plugin AVRCP for pocketMusic. Again, Until today, I tried to search in the google, I still could not find plugin AVRCP for pocket music. If anyone of you have a luck on this, please

After I launch your above web, then, I link to
http://www.touchxperience.com/
I saw the "HTC Music Manager" function in the description that allow you to choose default music player in the link but when install, NO "HTC MUSIC Manager". So ridiculous
My old Touch was able to map the Hardwarebutton BT to Start/Stop, so i could pause/Play by pressing BT Sidebutton.
On the Diamond and on the old Touch this is implemented in 1-3 DLLs. As it is hardcoded in these DLLs - it is definitly not possible to "remap" these buttons :-(
I asked in the forum if it is possible to use the DLLs from the "old" Touch. ... No interesting feedback by now...

Thanks for your info. Until today, nobody could solve this problem!!. I left this issue to Pocketmind and they said they would come back in 3 days. Now 10 days already. May be, they are also incapable to solve it : (
Same problem here with Mort Player on HTC Touch Pro (Raphael).
It seems, they changed the way BT stack interprets AVRCP commands, or hardcoded sending these commands directly to WMplayer, cause it is only think that works with AVRCP.
I hope this will be soon solved in some cooked ROMs.

I don't usually have time to comb through all the awesome stuff going on at XDA and would very much appreciate it!
Hi, is there a music player that can be controlled (next, previos, volume, play/pause) with the buttons on the stock wired headset? I can't use them in WMP and is very frustrating.
BT function for Pocket Music
Still no response from Pocketmind. Also, tried to search, hopeless.
Hi everyone,
Having trouble trying to change the default music player from Manilla 2D from audio manager to windows media. Currently using Hyperdragon III rom. tried searching the hyper dragon site, general rom development, google, etc and cant seem to find it.
Im sure its a really simple config item somewhere in the registry?
tried Manila 2D Customizer...still no luck
i second his problem, i want to do the same
And question here is. What is that change supposed to accomplish?
You might be able to change the player by editing the xml file. But with Audio Manager, you get the One touch play; once you change it you will be running Media player in the back ground
Moved the thread to the general section.
Thanks for understanding.
Tater
Try changing the default player to WM using Adv Config!
...A reason to change
I also want to do similar....however, I love the new Audio Mananger cab from HTC. BUT!!! I am peed off at having no direct access to volume control and that is spoiling the experience for me.
I dont want to change to WMP, but may have to if it turns out that it offers the much needed direct onscreen or HW access to volume control.
Incidently, to the point made about trying AdvConfig....It works NOT!. I tried several times to force the change over but to no avail. The way i have left my setup, is simply to install a previous version of Audio Manager (which doesnt offer the album cover facility) and place a shortcut to it on the Manila Programs tab. I found that using a diifernt version via the Audio tab screwed the screen up,
Regards
nick
I believe that all you have to do is find the link for the HTC audio player in the /windows folder of your phone, copy the WMP link and rename it to the htc Audio player link, and overwrite. This is how I changed my web browser from opera to pie.
Let me know if this helps

HI i want a solution for this too please ....
somehow would be better if there was a vol control in the tab itself
lol looks like i stumbled in to a dead horse ;p
I'd like to set the music audio lower than my system volume on the tf3d audio player. (I think I'm one of those few who listen to music while going to sleep and I can't get system volume quiet enough to not be annoying).
I've tried Shaps Advanced configuration tool to toggle the music player volume but it must be designed for the old HTC home because I can't tell any difference even after dropping from 100 to 5 and rebooting.
Any ideas? Is there already a knowledge base on this? If so, please point me there as I've done every search I can think of.
Thanks in advance.
you can use windows media player instead.
Yeah. But WMP is much less user-friendly and it doesn't integrate seamlessly with TF3D. If I knew alternatives to TF3D that integrated a good music player on a vga device I would switch. But so far everything I've tried including SBP Shell don't seem to do that well.
Thanks for the suggestion.
TF3D volume too high
Long time after the creation of tis post ...
but I'm experimenting the same issue!
When my volume slider is on the minimum (actually one step above zero), the music volume is still too loud for me.
Has anyone found an issue to that?
Thank's
It's been a long time since I used the Fuze. But as I remember, you could go to the settings in one of the far-right tabs of Touch Flo (if using a customized ROM) and manually change the volume. But it only stayed that way until the next time you changed it. I eventually just bought a set of headphones with their own independent volume slider so I could adjust it that way. It was a clumsy solution and one reason I left Windows Os behind for good. We'll see about their improvements with W7, but I'm skeptical until I see they can get it right.
Hope that helps!
I have the same problem. Minimum volume on my HTC Touch Pro 2 is far too loud when I am in a quiet ambiance.
I would be very interested in a solution.
It is a pity that there are "amplificators" available but obviously no system that could help us protecting our ears !
yeah, I have the same problem, but Nitrogen player looks even more finger friendly and stable, it do not ruin my music library, so everything is just the way it was in my now dead iriver Clix
I just moved over from the Tilt to the Fuze. I loved the way the HTC Audio Manager functioned on the Tilt, speedy and user friendly.
Unfortunately that cab no longer works on my Fuze. I've tried Win Media and Core Player but both programs have an incredible lag when choosing playlists.
Is there a HTC Audio Manager cab for the non-Manilla version? What else are you guys using to play your MP3's?
Try MortPlayer or GSPlayer.
I like Mortplayer. You have to be careful with the skins though, some of them like to crash, or have impossibly small fonts.
I wish someone would come up with a skin that has a car screen that's basically three HUGE buttons (skip forward, back, and play/pause) and then the name of the song and a counter. Most people have tried to focus on aesthetics but I think that would be the most useful.
mortplayer had a tendency to lag/skip when i play music on my fuze. i've since then switched to pocket player (so far so good)
I would use Nitrogen when I am on the run. If I have time, I like the look and interface of S2P. It's pretty slick with opengl.
Great feedback. I'll look into those programs.
One thing I noticed is that a lot of the players would shut off when the phone goes into sleep mode. Do mort player, nitrogen have that problem?
Here's the .cab for HTC Audio Manager fot TP/Fuze
I had HTC's Audio Manager working on my TP, found the cab after lots of diggin and testing... got it here on XDA, just don't remember where...(thanks to the maker of the cab anyways, sorry I don't remember who you are! )
Well, enough chatting, here you get it (lucky you I keep most of my cabs in MediaFire ):

Thanks! I've been playing around with both HTC Audio Manager and Nitrogen. Both are great programs so it's hard to narrow it down to one music program for my Fuze.

I'm not sure it's a unique feature, but I am toying with Nitrogen, and it has a "blank screen" button. The elements of Nitrogens user-interface are super-simple and easy to manipulate. As a plus its billed to be lightweight and responsive - it's fast to me.
Nitrogen is still early in development, and it looks like the author is adding features that you may miss, relative to more mature players, like Mort.

I have a cab in my faq that's called keep music playing.
basically you just hit the power button to put your phone into standby mode.
it's better than blank screen as taht just shows a black screen and still uses more battery.
The music player built in to tf3d is as good as any of the other ones. Nice library function. Menu has the audio booster built in to it. Shuffles music. I can't find anything that works as good as this. This came stock with my sprint touch pro.
i use S2P *Slide 2 Play* it also intergrates itself into S2U just like the iphone which i like, power manage is awesome while using the music player and ease of use is also great, make it even better yet, its FREE!!

I am with you on this one. However i recently switched to WM 6.5 and titanium to save battery life so I have lost the Touchflo music player. I tried nitrogen and found it to be great in every way except one.
On the Touchflo music player it would scan your whole phone for all of your music and organize it for easy selection. With nitrogen though you have to look through all of your folders to find a song which is a major turn down for me as I use itunes to organize my music. Which means it goes by album and I never remember which album a certain song is in. If anyone knows of a workaround that would be great.
The best music player is Pocket Music Bundle.
Best sound and manager playlist.
http://www.pocketmind.com/pmfp.htm
realy like htc audio manager. Even when I used tf3d, for some reason the volume was too loud, and I hated having only 6 increments for volume.
Also unlike windows media player, audio manager doesn't think my 4 zillion sound files whic are from my various instaled games are music too
