Put Australia_720_1838 on your storage card in the root directory not in Internal Storage\Program Files\Navigator\Australia_720_1838\. Put in Internal Storage\Australia_720_1838

Just copy the maps to your storage card
Example:
\Storage Card\North_America
\Storage Card\France
First, buy a memory card.
Second, put the map folder in the memory card root directory.

ok thanks guys.
memory card ordered.
I'm after tomtom for this device.
I just wanted to knnow if it is possible to install the edition that comes on an SD card via my laptop
Yeah it'll be easy
Just copy the contents of the SD card to your 'Internal Storage', and then run the autorun file in the 2577 directory.
If you've got the maps for TomTom 6 then I'd recommend going for TomTom7 - the older maps work fine with it. There's a cab file for it on this forum somewhere.
Funny you mention that Just add Tom Tom to mine, the only other advise would be.... leave maps in the root of Internal Storage, and you "might"have to move Voices folder (or at least the contents of the Voices folder in the right programe file after set up.
This may not apply to all, just what happened to me with my instalation

Hi All,
Forgive me if this has been answered, I have managed to get TT7.5 working. Only thing is I wanted to put all the maps and other files in a folder rather than on the root of my SD card.
Is there any registry changes I can make so that TT can find the maps in a folder on the SD card?
Thanks

I think you need to create a folder with the same name as the maps IIRC.
Mine are all in the GB_plus_major_roads_of_WE folder.

Hi Dave, thanks for replying, yes I have this folder to, along with voice and raster on the root of my SD card.
What I wanted to do was tidy it up, so I created a TomTom folder on the root of the SD card, placed all three folders mentioned above but then I get error "No maps found". If I take it out and place these folders back on the root, it works fine.
Ahh, I thought you meant the map files.
There is a TomTom 6 guide somewhere, I don't know if the answer might be in there, if it's not I have no idea
Dave
TT7 will find the maps if you put the folders in the "My Documents" folder on the SD card.
lastes maps
i'm not sure if I have the latest maps. where can I get them?
you can get the maps at the tomtom webpage. it´s not so difficult to find

Hi, i have installed TomTom 7 from a cab supplied elsewhere on the forum, i was wandering if someone could tell me where the maps are supposed to go? (the .pna and .metta file)
Cheers
They go in a folder in the root of internal storage.
My folder is called "United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland" but I don't know whether the name actually matters. I then have other folders in the root of internal storage called "Voices" and "RASTER"

bit annoying that u cant specify a folder...
I have several cab file programs (PDS Status Full, HHC v10 Final, Google Maps and Youtubeplay), that are stored in the "My Documents" folder . Can I move them to the storage card and still run the apps. from there in order to free up memory on the device?
The CABs are installation files. Once you've opened them and installed them you can do whatever you want with them, move, delete, whatever. They're not needed anymore.
What kilrah said.
I just keep them in a dedicated folder on my storage card so I can easily reinstall the programs if required.

Ditto. I've reflashed my Hermes about 10 or so times and I'm pretty sure I'll do the same with the Kaiser. It's very convienient to have the installation files on the Storage card.
GREAT, thanks...
just upgraded from an 8525 to a Tilt in the last month and still learning. Found this site and have downloaded several programs mentioned here.
