Is there any way to set a proxy address to Wi-Fi connection?
Or is there a way to add proxy ro IE/Opera/Youtube?
My School WiFi required a proxy to access the net.
Help will be appreciated.
Start Menu->Settings->Connections->Connections
Under "My Work Network", clic on "Set up my proxy server" and then... setup your proxy ^_^.
i thought that is for the gprs?

Yes this is also what I had thought. I have to set up a proxy in addition to the SecureW2 software client that I have to configure in order to connect to my University's Wi-Fi. I can set up SecureW2 fine, it will connect to the network, but I'm unable to set up the proxy properly.
Already tried the method still can't access internet.
Called HTC Tec support just now, they say you can only add proxy for gprs but not WiFi.
Any mod to add proxy to WiFi?
bump.......
This is very important, can anyone help?
Wifi Profiles Tool
Just try WifiProfiles from RStein - very convenient

Hi Guys,
Does anyone know how i go about creating a hidden proxy? I tried looking at the settings of the at&t hidden proxy but can't seem to figure it out...
The problem is I cannot use the proxy setting under connection settings because it is already in use. My cellular operator has a monthly data plan of 100MB for 7,5€, but is limited to http traffic. This limitation is enforced by the use of a http proxy.
I'm running a http proxy server at home and would like to chain the proxies so that all requests would be formated to go to my server, through my operator's one. Is this possible?
Alternatively, does anyone know of a program that would allow me to chain proxies?
Thanks
I would also like to know if it is possible to create your own hidden proxy.
I use my tilt on T-Mobile and am also using the proxy to allow me to get unlimited internet access with the T-MobileWeb (Formerly T-Zones) for 5.99 a month.
However, using the proxy I am unable to use Apps such as remote desktop, windows live messenger, etc because for some reason they don't work with the proxy.
I was thinking that maybe using this hidden proxy instead of putting the proxy info in the connections settings would allow me to use these apps.

Try using Mobile Profiler: http://www.iaccarino.de/silvio/stuff/MobileProfilerReadme.htm
Download it here: http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/System-Utilities/Mobile-Profiler-22304.shtml

If you cannot properly setup a visible HTTP proxy (for WiFi), how could you even think about an invisible proxy?
This device is crappy.
Almost
This looks like the beginnings of an excellent application, however, does anyone know of a program that will automatically switch various settings based on GPS location? I have been digging around for months trying to find a solution that will allow me to set up various "profiles" based on my GPS location, e.g. silent/vibrate, medium brightness, gprs connection enabled all other data connection disabled, while I am at work, and wifi on while im in major metropolition areas, and off while not, etc etc.. is this a pipe dream or has anyone stumbled across something similar?
also Im not sure why you want a "hidden" proxy, but this might be your solution:

If i go to
Settings / Connections / Connections and Change on My Work Network with "Edit my proxy server" the proxy server for HTTP and try to download something with quick GPS or F-Secure the Proxy switches back to proxy1. Does anybody know about this problem and maybee know how to solve it?
Kind Regards

Is there any tool to turn off proxy setting easily without having to re-enter proxy setting?
Is this for the at&t network? If so you can leave the proxy un-checked in your connection profile and use the proxy manager cabs instead.
Anyone with a cab for tmobileweb proxy manager
Hi
I am using Vp3G's 3.63 rom on TMobile Usa and I can browse the web using the proxy but can only use the mail auto fetch settings without the proxy settings.
Is there a way to manage proxy settings without having to manually enter settings every time.?
I have a HERMES.
Is there any app that will disable the proxy when the PDA is cradled?
I mean, my hima can connect with GRPS and thru the Pc, but i have to change the proxy setting (GPRS use proxy but the Pc not, only should be checked "this connection uses internet")
Is there any way that the PDA could do this on its own?
Many thanks!
Hi,
I'm an IT Student in my last year university in Belgium. My campus uses a network where hotspots are available every 5meters.
The network encryption is WPA2 and I succeeded to get connection with the school network but I can't set up a proxy to browse internet or use Windows Live Messenger on my Diamond.
Can anyone help me with this? I used Google and other search engines possible solutions but none worked.
I tried setting up a proxy under my connection tab and changing the network type to 'work' but that didn't help.
Any suggestion or push in the right direction are very appreciated!

Hi,
Same Problem here. Any Solution?
For browser proxy, try opera:config in the opera built-in browser and setup the proxy. For msn, I couldn´t find a solution yet.
I know for browser you can use an older version of Opera which has configurable proxy settings.
For MSN you can just use Ebuddy or something I guess?
Is that like a system wide proxy?
sorry to double post but that filename doesnt look very 'safe'. can anybody verify what it is?
Hi. I have the same problem here. I enable the proxy but it has no effect. Please any help?
Hello, I found a solution to use proxy on opera browser: type "opera:config" in address bar, then select proxy menu and set the proxy.
seeu!
