I have a MDA VARIO flashed with an Imate Kjam ROM (one of the first found here). Radio is stil 01.01.10
I want to flash my RADIO ROM. Is it as simple as this? (found in thread here)

I ask because I think there are also ROM updates that come with OS and Radio? And Also I read about the ROM tool that can do this. More roads lead to Rome I guess but the executable seems the easiest way to go.

Unfortunately I've found separete Radio ROM image just in Portugal Brazilian ROM archive (1.13.10, ftp://xda:[email protected]/HTC_Wizard/Roms/Qtek/QTEK_9100_portuguese.rar)

Exactly what is the difference with this radio ROM?
I ran the executable without Vario attached. It warned that it also deletes the full pda. Guess I can better update to the offial uk t-mobile ROM at once then.

Kenji776 look at the size of this utility... full rom is about 45Mb. It is coocked from standard rom upgrade utility, that's why you can see the standard warnings.

Nopes. But always make a backup to be on the safer side.

The device itself did make a soft reset after the flash. A hard reset is not needed.
I just flashed usin the executable. Worked fine! Thanks.

I don't think he meant it in a sarcastic way. I think he meant is there a way to quantify your findings.
I would like to improve the sound quality of my wizard, also. I'm especially concerned with the earpiece volume and the speakerphone clarity for the called party. Everyone I talk to on the speakerphone says it sounds very "scratchy" and full of "static".
Did yours sound this way before you upgraded, and does it still sound that way?

In my case it indeed improved my sound[/b]
I've extracted the radio ROM from 1.23.408.1 Italian Trinity ROM and packaged here as a standalone NBH radio upgrade:
TRIN_RADIO_1.38.00.11_Only_SSPL.rarThis radio has HTC_BOOT 0108 and GPS enabled.
To upgrade the radio connected the phone to computer through USB cable and activesync enabled, Des SSPL will be pushed into your phone when the RUU starts.
Remember that when flashing a radio only you don't need to hard-reset your phone, so no data will be lost.
Enjoy!

The upgrade worked well with latest DOPOD WWE ROM. Hope that this RADIO version will have some fixes for my 3G issues - in bad covered areas i get 3G calls but cannot answer with RADIO 1.35... hope this will be better with 1.38....
GPS in 1.38.... works fine like with 1.35....

I'm not sure I'm qualified to answer that yet but I believe you'd still need some kind of driver in the OS. Might be wrong though.
Our best option would be to get someone to dump a german GPS ROM from Vodaphone or Swisscom Trinity and make that flashable. I'm looking forward to this but know nobody who has one.

Yes you can upgrade but GPS will not work anyway.

No. I tried Radio 1.35 on my WWE HTC and even though the upgrade went ok GPS is still not operational.

You can upgrade the radio, but if you don't have the GPS drivers in your OS ROM you will not get the GPS functionality.

AFAIK this is not handled by the Qualcomm chip, so answer is no.

Connect your phone to computer using usb cable, make sure activesync is enabled (green icon) and run ROMUpdateUtility.exe. Radio upgrade doesn't enforce hard reset, so you'll not loose any data.

No, as said before, you need a ROM with GPS drivers, otherwise will not work.

This is an unmodified HTC radio, so you should not loose warranty by flashing it. You can always flash back your original radio using SSPL, as far as the phone is not bricked.

same here... allso, after agree eith the upgrade,

Yes... 1.23 is your ROM version, 1.18 is the RADIO ROM version which is going to be updated, it's only a radio, won't touch your OS ROM.
I've tested almost all radios in all roms, and I couldn't decide wich one is the best. Have you guys found that answer?

I need to change the radio ...
I need to change the radio in my ROM. How did u test the radios in different ROMS? Did install just the radio or did u have to install the whole ROM?
I tried to install the sim unlock and now my data won´t get HSDPA speeds. I think the problem is the radio version.
Any help would be greatly apprecciated.

Are you saying that the ROM's from other devices will work on the Treo 750? I thought this wasn't possible since it's different hardware.
If you can't there are only a hand full of radio ROM's to try, since there aren't that many Treo 750 ROM's out there. Or am I wrong on this one?

do you know how to decide which radio rom do you have without standard htc device info? I have T750 running wm6 with some radio which was there when i bought them, runnig on hsdpa many times, and everything is ok but i dont know how to check which version do i have
2.19. seems to be the best for any WM6 or 6.1 as all the others seem to get lost calls. Its also dependent on your provider.Some people has better luck with laster versions but like I said it depends on who you are with and where.

Um....there is no radio 2.19 for the treo 750 or hermes. The latest rev is 1.54.30 I believe.

Merlyn is right. I made a mistake and was thinking about my wizard 8125 and not my Treo 750. Radio 2.19 is for the wizard.

I came to use my camera on my Tytn 2 and low and behold all i have is a black screen with all the menus, this is the same for both.
I have tried a hard and soft re-set in hope it might spring back to life but no joy so if anybody can help would be very greatful.

HI,
It was originaly on Orange and i got it unlocked and had the ROM flashed to the latest Ver or so i was told as i did not do it, hope that helps.

if you did this ... than you need to flash a radio that is compatible with the rom .. i.e if its a wm6.1 rom than you need a wm6.1 radio

When u had previously installed wm6 rom and now u flashed wm6.1, u need to flash appropriate radio rom.

use the link that Mikulec provided, goto post 3 and the radio is there to download and flash. that should sort your problem out.
I am just downloading the radios now and will give them a try in the morning.

i assume that if you have an updated rom that you should have hardspl installed on your phone so just follow these steps:
1. attach your data cable and sync with your pc then run the .exe file from the radio you downloaded.
2. the phone should go into a 3 colour screen and say usb at the bottom, the flash will then start and you will see a percentage bar telling you when its been sucessful.
3. the phone will then restart and the radio will be updated.

I think u have the latest official one, but u can take a look at cooked roms in kaiser development section. Every custom rom has its own thread with list of specifications, ....
Just take a look.
