I just got my Kaiser today finally, and all of the sudden half of the reception icon at the top disappeared and all of the volume icon disappeared. Occasionally all of the reception icon will reappear but the volume icon doesn't, not even after a soft reset. I can still tap the location of where the volume icon is supposed to be and adjust the volume. Anyone know what could be causing that?
One more question, at first I thought it was the x-button overlapping the icons so I removed it from the start bar. Does anyone know how to get it back? - Nevermind, I turned it back on in the registry. Should have thought of that to begin with.
Here's a pic of the missing icons.
I have the same bizarre problem all of a sudden - were you able to resolve this issue?
Anyone? This is driving me nuts! I know the last thing that I did was to use CeRegistry Editor to fix/modify the Windows Media Player not playing fullscreen landscape issue! I've since changed back but my volume icon and half of my reception icon still missing!
Please help...
I had this problem once and I seem to recall using KaiserTweak to change the battery / time display, and/or changing the time control panel for displaying time on task bar.
Unfortunately, I can't recall the exact steps... Hope this helps.
Ah success! Thank you Alex! I used the Kaiser tweak to change my settings for 'Title Bar - Battery/Clock' to "Battery" and 'Title Bar - Clock Settings' to "Nothing". Not exactly sure what it was set to before but did a Soft Reset and all is back to normal! I'm still not sure what changed things in the first place but I'm happy now. Thanks again Alex!
It helped me too! Ty Alex!
I'm trying to make the top bar less crowded with crap (Volume, Battery, Connection, Phone icons take a lot of space away!)
I'm using wktask and it would look a lot nicer to have a somewhat full task bar!
Thanks (I already searched and couldn't find anything)
bump anyone please?
Have you tried Kaisertweak?
In 'Today Screen' there are several options including some to disable icons in the top bar.
Hope this helps...
Good luck
Well, the only tool i can think of is wisbar advance. It can also replace wktask.
yeah wisbar costs money though. and it doesn't look that nice.
I just liked Wktasks idea of turning the top bar into a task bar like in regular windows editions.
Also: Nothing in KaiserTweak
I have a funky navigation bar. It shows the connection status (Edge/Wifi), radio bars (with edge/3g/analog), and volume next to the X/OK button, but no clock/battery. When looking at the Today screen, the volume icon is hidden, but touchable (takes getting use to). When looking at programs, I can see all 3 next to the X/OK. I'm not entirely sure which bit of tweaking accomplished this, but I did choose, in KaiserTweak, to show "Nothing" for Today Screen>Title Bar - Clock Settings, and "Battery" for Today Screen>Title Bar - Battery/Clock.
I also used an old WM5 tweak to show the clock as Analog through HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Shell\AnalogClock as DWORD, 1
And another, HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\ShowTitleBarClock as DWORD, 0 and HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt as DWORD, 0
Also, ArielBattery can cover whichever of those you want (but clicking the battery icon shows memory usage only).
Doesn't seem to work for me. Ugh....thought it would be an easy fix too....
I installed HTC Home Plugin and the HTC Home Plugin Customizer and did a few things with it and my Bar status (connection bars with att network), sound icon, and time data is missing from the top of the screen. I went into customizer and said for it to display the time, but it doesn't work still and the weirdest part is is that the bar status icon is half there, you can see a little bit of the left side of it, but not any of the bars. Should I uninstall the Home Plugin/Customizer?
Thanks
Are you running any other software that might reconfigure the status bar display?
Help us out with a screen shot
Hey All..
Noticed that when i turn on my HTC One M7 software no: 6.09.401.11 android 4.4.3
Right next to the battery save icon in the top bar an icon disappear after like 1 sec when i wake up my phone and its still in the lockscreen..
This makes it impossible to actually unlock the phone and see what this is..
The icon is like the red part of the icon for Maps.. But its only the outer line of it with like a pause symbol inside.. It the same color (white) like the battery icon and clock in the top bar.
Anyone here who can give me an answer what this icon is for? Can it be some sort of app that pause my location when my phone is in sleep mode?
Hope someone out there have seen it too and got an answer...
I have recently (the last week or two) started getting this symbol as well, no clue what it is!
Hi everyone. Can anybody post a screenshot of your homescreen with received emails / messages icons showing in the top left corner of the Mate 20 Pro screen (notifications area) please? I'm sick and tired to hear explanations like "hm, weird. might something wrong with your firmware", hm, I've got everything". Something is telling me that this problem is notch related and Huawei simply don't know how to fix it. Thanks in advance.
What problem do you have?

Okay, I want my phone showing notification icons like in your second screenshot with received emails icons. To other screenshots are the result of action like swipe down gesture. How did you get emails icon there?

No notification icons (emails, messages...) in the top left corner. All I have got is operator name and signal strength (GSM + WiFi) signs. That's it. As a result, I'm missing important messages and emails, not reading them in time. Never experienced anything like this on Pixel, Galaxies, LG, HTC and Sony phones. Also my previous phone - Mate 10 - didn't have this problem too. Can't find the way to fix it on Mate 20 Pro.
Maybe you have disabled them by mistake, you can always go to app setting and enable notifications for each app you want.
It's a horrible notch on this phone.
I'd much rather that if the option to turn "off" the notch is selected, that the whole top line would be moved down so that icons show in an entire row the line below, instead of the very top notched line, but such is life!
For you, is this a space issue do you think?
I've changed the option to show a notification number instead of individual icons. At least with this method, you'll know something is there?
.
You have the place for only 4 icons at the right and at the left of the notch. So that depends if you have Bluetooth on, network monitor on etc... Etc.. For each apps you have maybe in notification bar you should disable apps that you don't want to be in notif bar. For exemple I use Tasker but don't need it in notification bar, so I removed is icon in notification menu.
Like you I don't see my email or text msg notification icon but is because I've Bluetooth on, alarm on, vibrate On and data monitoring on so... Alarm icon don't appear coz I've also signal strength.
Signal strength + Bluetooth icon + network monitor + vibrate mode = 4 icons nothing more. If I switch from vibrate mod to ring mod i' ve again one free slot for another icon etc... Etc..

I haven't touched or disabled anything. Everything is on default settings. I've checked all notifications related settings, everything is enabled.

Yes, this is a space issue and a Huawei issues at the same time. I set "show numbers" options but still no luck. Maybe my current operator name is too long to have anything else beside.

Okay, thanks for explanation. Thant's mean it is space + Huawei issue indeed. Useless (no notifications whatsoever) AOD is quite frustrating as well.

Have you tried unticking the display carrier name option in the display settings?
Edit:
Ahh, this only affects the home screen and not the lockscreen. Never mind
There is room for 5 icons and not 4. The last three ones are replaced by new icon.
I think you've changed something in settings that's why you're not getting notifications.
If you look at second screen shot, you can see that sms icon in the first photo is replaced with keyboard icon and on the third it's back again.

Okay, I see. Seriously, I haven't touch any settings, all in defaults state. Just tried to disable providers name and finally notification popped up! Anyway, notch is the culprit of my issue. I takes heaps of space so with provider name displayed by default there is no space for anything else. Can't justify such a huge notch and having below the average sound from the speakers. My old small Pixel 3 sounds a way clearer and louder even not at high volume. Don't really care about secure and fancy 3D face recognition at all.

Then you bought the wrong handset. The notch is there for a reason. I love the 3d face recognition, so I live with the notch. I bought the right phone.
You can also use adb to permanently disable some of the system icons like Bluetooth, alarm clock, nfc, etc.. This really helped clean things up and made more room up top for notification icons.
One option I wish they had was the ability to move signal and WiFi from left to right.

Total is 8 icons....4 at left and 4 at right or 5 at left 3 at right etc... If you choose to put battery % out of his icon you will see... Battery icon take 2 places, % take one, time take one = 4
If you put battery % inside his icon : battery icon take 2 places, time take one = 3, so you have automatically 5 slots available at left... [emoji57]
