There is a way to change the dialer sounds by registry tweaking. The problem is that the choosed sounds will only play as long as the original tones do, which is a little bit short for one two three etc.
But maybe you can create sounds one two etc. and shorten them with a sound file editor so they will play completely. It will surely sound like the Chipmonks
- Create your Chipmonks soundfiles (sorry for this ) for all dial buttons (.wma will work, I don't know if other formats are possible) and save them on your device
- Goto HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\Dtmf# (Dtmf*, Dtmf1, Dtmf1, ...) with a registry editor
- For each one of the Dtmf's do this:
1. Rename Standard DWORD parameter Sound to Sound1
2. Create new String Parameter Sound
3. Assign the path of the new sound-file to this new parameter (for example /windows/one.wma)
Can't remember if a soft reset is needed after tweaking, you'll have to try.
Maybe you should try this for one dial button first and see if it fits your demands. If not:
You can change this back by removing the new Sound parameters and renaming Sound1 back to Sound.
I don't think this is a very useful mod because of the time restriction for the sounds. But decide yourself...

Hi,
I deactivated the HTC dialer so I can use S2U2... Now I have the problem that I cannot change the speaker volume during a call with the side-keys (e.g. if I press the volume down key it opens the standard system volume application by HTC)
So there might be 2 solutions:
1st: Is there a way to deactivate the HTC sound GUI and change it back to the windows built in volume changer?
2nd: Is there a tool / little program to change the volume of the speaker during a phone call?
Thanks for your help / solutions...

doesnt anyone have a clue?
how do you others change the volume during a call if you use standard wm6 dialer and not the one from htc?
Woohoooo!
Solved it - so if anyone is interested in the solution:

Thanks for posting this... however that service doesn't seem to exist.
My guess would be that HTC have changed things in a recent update and that would explain why the Volume Control settings in Diamond Tweak don't work either - Tried in Duttys Diamond 1.8 and SwiftBL 7.0
Does anyone know any other way to disable the HTC volume control, short of cooking a new ROM without it?
Solved!

I noticed that despite changing in call volume settings and system volume settings, the volumes are linked together.
Has this always been the way? I seem to recall my WM6 phone (Hermes) remembering in call volumes and keeping it seperate from the system volume -but I may be wrong.
I want to lower my in call volume, but the hardware volume buttons don't seem to make that much of a differnce - and not to mention they adjust the system volume as well.
I have read through all the other volume related threads I can find. I think this is the first time someone actually wants to lower the diamond's earpiece volume!
Effectively you have 3 volumes. Unless you are in a call then the volume buttons only give you access to the system and ring volumes. As far as I know you can only adjust the in call volume in call (there will be a registry option also but I don't know where sorry).
Anyway when you start your call before you put the phone to your ear (and the screen goes off) press volume up or down and it will change your call volume.
I figured out what it was... it was due to me disabling the diamond phone skin.
You lose volume functionality.
And if the settings is "silent", even the music player, via earphones, is silent?

Can you elaborate?
I've disabled the Diamond skin yet I am able to independently adjust the in-call volume... in-call. System/ringer volume is adjustable at all other times.

If you disable the diamond dialer skin and have HTC volume control enabled you will not be able to alter the in call volume. To adjust in call volume using default windows dialer skin you also have to disable HTC volume control.
Ah, yes, I do seem to recall having disabled the HTC Volume too with DiamondTweak.

Hi guys,
I do not want to use "Diamond dialer Skin" because of the S2U2, so I have disable it. However, there is no way to alter the in call volume (I have activate and deactivate HTC volume control with Diamond Tweaker, but no way).
Any help?
Thanks in advance
No one has solve this trouble? It is making me crazy!
Why does the dialler skin interefere with S2U2?

Each time a call is incoming, in the first few seconds the dialler skin appears. After that, the normal S2U2 screen appears again (with "slide to answer"...). If you touch accidentally the option "Answer" of the dialler skin by accident in these few seconds, it will answer the call.
I have added something in the registry (to be honest, I can not remember right now) that it was supposed to fix this trouble, but no way...

Does that mean the volume buttons will no longer work during a call but you will get a volume adjuster on the screen...or will the volume buttons still change the in call volume. dont know about anyone else but I find the volume buttons a bit too fiddly and 'sunk' too far...probably nicer to look at though...
I mean that the volume buttons will not work any more. The only way they work in my Diamond is activating "Diamond Dialer Skin", but with this, I get the S2U2 problem...

And a big memory comsumption!!!!
I've disabled phone skin too... and have the same problem. Hard to find the good key in the registry!
Some help are welcome!

It is not a big problem, but it is making me crazy...
try this regkey
I maxed up my in call volume, and found this DWORD regkey to be changing to FFFFFFFF (8 F's hex value).
Can you try?
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\ShellOverrides\SavedInCallVolume

Thank you very much for the answer.
Anyway, I do know how to configure the volume (I use a "Profiles" software that can adjust the volume). The point is to be able to change the in call volume during the call.
To be honest, I can hardly believe that no one has deactivate "Diamond Skin Phone" and had no trouble with this
I'm using the dialer skin, but when i am talking with someone, adjusting the volume up/down, it always reset it to lowest. Any advice?
Hello,
I've a problem with my Diamond, the soft button for controling the volume have change of function. Now the work as scroll wheel.
First of all I think it's an application that change the button affectation. Not the good way.
So I try to lauch the volume manager manualy and it didn't appear.
I don't know if a reg key was the point of interest for this. But haven't found yet where is the problem. If someone have already encounter the problem.
Thanks
Partial Found:
It's S2U2 that change the softkey mapping and if sound control is disabled in this application, it's completly disabled.
If someone can send me what have been change, where and the original value for the Diamond, he'll be the "man of the day"
Thanks you
my volume button didn't work. I don't know after installing which software it happens. but now my volume button only go to volume screen but it can't make it lower or higher?
how should I fix it?
Check your dial pad style in Advance config Change it back to the htc diamond dial pad...
I use 7 hours for solving this problem. 555
hope it help you...
I couldn't find dial pad style in my advanced config program
would please help me how should I find it?
Let's try Diamondtweak... in the "Call" topic, Topic no. 1.8 Phone Pad Style...
Again..
Hope it help...
i have this bug every now and again on Dutty's ROM, a soft reset seems to fix mine, anyone else had anything similar to this?
I have same situation when PocketMusic player is running. It locks volume change somehow. Up/Down buttons shows volume screen, but do not change volume. It doesn't matter if player is running foreground or background. When I exit the player, buttons work again as expected.
Maybe you have same problem.
phone pad style did not work. but after hard reset it become ok. I had this problem in OEM ROM Dutty and swift, so I think one of my applications make this problem, I should install my application one by one tonight and find buggy application.
I have the same issue that caused by VibrationFeedbackConfig app. I have to use the default bubble volume slider instead cuz I want to keep this app.
To do that, using a registry editor, go to HLCU\Software\HTC\Bootlauncher\Services\HTCVOLUME, rename \Windows\HTCVolumeControl.dll to \Windows\HTCVolumeControl.dll.bak and reset your device.
