When dual booting like that, you have to install the OS's in an oldest to newest order.

I've never used Vista Boot Pro, so I can't answer that question. Really, all you have to do is install XP on the first partition and then install Vista on the second partition. When the computer boots up, it will give you a choice of which OS to boot into.
did wid vista boot pro....thx

That's not actually true, you can install newest then oldest (ie: Vista then XP)
Follow this guide it works perfectly, I did it.
I guess I've been doing it the old skool way then.

the easiest method is that if u have a vista CD boot from vista cd and then choose the repair method and a new screen will appear and then from there choose repair startup problems and then it will repair it and in boot section after restarting the computer it will show windows vista and windows xp !!! this is the easiest way to do it !!!
or you can just use vmware on vista like i did.
Hi
Looking at upgrading my Windows XP SP2 with Vista Ultimate 64 bits.
Are there any issues upgrading ROM etc with Vista 64 bits?
Are all the various program running on XP (hard-spl etc) still working under Vista 64 bits?

My PC was previously on dual boot with Microsoft Windows 7 (x86) and Linux Fedora 17 (x64). I installed Windows 8 (x86) on the Windows 7 partition by formatting it. I'm not able to install the GRUB 2 bootloader from the Fedora LIVE session (I think Windows 8 secure boot is blocking it).
I'm thinking of going back to Windows 7. Does anybody have a better option?

Which operation system do you want to run the VM on?
Currently as I know, if you are using windows operation system, you can use VMWare Workstation or Oracle VirtualBox.
If you are using mac OS, you can use Parallels Desktop.
Are you asking about Win8 or WP8? Because this is a Windows Phone forum...
Aside from the "emulator" included with the SDK - which is actually a Hyper-V-based x86 virtual machine - you can't run WP8 in a VM to the best of my knowledge. The emulator works pretty well for the limited number of things it does, though.
