Can someone help?
I cant find where to change the sound when I get a sms message. I am shure there is an obvious soluction. Can anyone share some lights?

Anyone have any idea how to stop the ring/vibrate alert when I receive an email or sms? On most phones if I push a button it'll stop, but obviously it doesn't work for the tilt.
Is there a cab for this?

Start > Settings > Sounds and Notifications > Notifications
Or hit the dismiss softkey when you get a notification.
kinda.... When I hit the dismiss softkey the ring/vibrate doesn't stop. When I did a search I saw someone else with a Wizard had the same problem. But to elaborate, my ringtone for sms isn't just a beep, it's a ringtone, so I just need it to stop when I hit a key or something.

did you try this? change your tone to ring or beep or just turn it off...
there is this cool little thing on the side called a scroll wheel! just scroll up or down and the noise stops!

Uhhh... no it doesn't. Am I doing it wrong?
I'm not trying to adjust the settings, I just want to be able to have a ringtone for my sms, and then when it rings, be able to stop the ringtone/vibrate with a button (or a scroll wheel) anything really...
Any more ideas?

Really? Nobody knows how to fix this? Am I the only one who has this problem? I know I can just turn the ringtone off for txts and email, but then why let a great feature go to waste? There has to be a way to stop a ringtone from playing all the way through when receiving a sms. Someone? Anyone?

Is it possible to have a different sound for the delivery notification and a new text? at the moment they are both the same and it's annoying me. I want to know that my message got to them but I don't need it to be as loud as a new text.

Its under Sounds & Notifications in the Settings. There's an option for both.
Mine only has the one option for Text message, and this changes both of the sounds :/
search for kaiser tweaks on xda. it has an option in the program to turn sent notification off or change it's behavior.

I am trying to change my sms tone .... and everywhere is saying i do this via notification tone under settings and even apps such as ringdroid change the notification tone... but for some reason this does not change my SMS tone ... I remember I did change it once to bubbles because I was sick of my sms and battery full being the same and now I can't remeber how I did it
I am not usind a custom rom, just the stocky 2.2
anyone know how I did it

Go to messaging app then go to settings, scroll down to the bottom, there you will see select ringtone.

I feel like an idiot...I've been trying everything since I installed Zedge to get the damn default tone to change to silent...could not understand why changing it in settings wouldn't work. TYVM!!
Ok I have looked and I cant find any conversation here about the led notifications for sms and missed calls. Is my device the only one that these aren't working on or is there so really obvious setting that I am just not seeing? Is there a work around?
Also there doesnt seem to be a setting for changing the snooze time but a search shows that Im not the only one who would like 7,8, or ten minutes. So i dont think I am missing a setting.
Currently there is no sms led alert which is very, very irritating. I hate having to troll my phone to see if the text came.
Is there any way to change that? Any app to change it?
