I'd like to use an external bluetooth keyboard with the HD2.
It should:
1) Be compatible with HD2
2) Be compact / foldable
3) Should include "mouse" support (touchpad, trackpoint, ...)
4) If possible it should be able to hold the HD2 (Athena like)
Could anybody recommend one?
Would HD2 transparently work with any BT/HID keyboard including the mouse support (pointer displayed on HD2 screen driven by trackpoint/touchpad from BT keyboard)?
Same here. Just wanted to push this thread. I would be very much interested in having such a device since my laptop is crap and I never gonna buy one again.
HD2 questionmarks
Nobody has an experience connecting bluetooth keyboard and mouse to Windows Mobile device???
And second question: is there a chance that HD2 is physically able to have USB Host and TV Out, but there just aren't drivers and TV cable at the moment?
I have - I used to use BlueInput drivers from Teksoft to connect a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard with my Touch HD.
Unfortunately however the HD2 seems to be using Broadcom bluetooth stack drivers that aren't compatible with BlueInput (Touch Pro2 owners have the same problem), so now I can't use then anymore -_-... at least until they make the BlueInput software compatible with Broadcom drivers or some Chef hacks in the Microsoft Bluetooth stack into a custom rom.
Haven't tried the default Stowaway keyboard drivers that came with the keyboard though, so maybe I can get the keyboard working again, but not the mouse until BlueInput is working.
Also very interested! Love how the Celio Redfly worked with my X1 but with HD2 no luck so far...
yep looking on with much interest
Guys, redfly is working. for both bluetooth connection and usb.
Also, as for kb, i recommand logitech dinovo mini. Its great
conect usb keyboard
I like to connect usb keyboard is this possible....i need help.. the bluetooth keyboard i dont like it because it takes to connect ...is posible for usb.
thank gracias
Dear Folks
I have the iGO bluetooth keyboard that works great - I purchased this about 18 months ago for use with my Nokia E63.
Now I keep it on my desk and is an excellent way of replying to emails and text messages.
I am going to try SWYPE, for when I'm on the move.
Regards

I have tried a few blutooth keyboards but you can't seem to use the arrow keys like you would want to..
The arrow keys work fine on my BB keyboard.

It seems we'll have this the easy way. Teksoft has posted a news on their site, about a Broacom compatible Blueinput version.
I managed to get the Thinkoutside Stowaway BT keyboard working fine with the HTC HD2 without the use of any special drivers.
However, I am unable to connect my Stowaway BT mouse to the HD2. I tried the latest (2004) drivers for the keyboard which suppose to have the same drivers for the mouse as well.
No luck.
I tried to pair the following BT mouse:
* Logitech BT laptop mouse
* Microsoft BT 5000 mouse
Again - no luck.
Does anyone yet been able to connect the Stowaway BT mouse (or any other BT mouse) with the HD2?
hi,
as stated here some times already, it looks that hd2 only have a driver/dll that supports bt keyboards but not mices. its a step back because my old advantage has no problem accessing mices. so as long as blueinput or other drivers released there will be no luck with this. i personaly wait for 3party drivers too, so i can use my bt keyboard in my mother language, wich is also impossible in the moment.
regards mad
Just install blueinput from:
http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=products&platform=1&pid=5
Should work, tried it on my HD (with ROM 6.5.5 24001)
try the logitec dinovo mini works great on mine with blueinput

Isn't the logitec dinovo mini a keyboard and not a mouse? I too would like to find a mouse that works well with my HD2 - I suspect that when (and if) a new BT Stack and Drivers are issued then most products will work but..... when.... Sigh...
Dinovo Mini has a touchpad on the right side of the keyboard - I'd post pics but I'm still a noob. Out of the box bluetooth connectivity with mice and keyboards would have been great, let's hope it gets on the HD2 soon.
I also just tried my Stowaway Kbd and Mouse with My HD2.
The keyboard paired and worked fine without any additional drivers, just with the internal BT HID service.
Not so with the mouse.
Then I installed the Stowaways own Windows Mobile keyboard and mouse drivers. That driver enabled that mouse to work on every other WM touchscreen device I have had.
Doesn't work though. When one starts the Stowaway app to enable and set up the mouse, it does not recognize the BT stack of the HD2 at all.
Does anyone know what BT stack the HD2 has? Widcomm? Microsoft? What version?
Unfortunately, there will not be any new Stowaway drivers coming out. The company that made it, ThinkOutside, was bought up by IGo, who shortly after discontinued all its products.
If someone finds a hack to get it to work, please let us know.
This is an old problem. HD2 uses the Widcomm BT stack, and this doesn't support bluetooth mouse profile.
MS BT stack supports the mouse profile, and as far as I'm aware this cannot/has not been imported to the HD2 by anyone.
Teksoft claimed to have a solution and showed a video of the HD2 running a BT mouse, but the actual product didn't materialise:

Did you happen to succeed in pairing and connecting it with Android builds ?
Dell Stoaway Keyboard pairing problem
Hi,
I just installed the latest Energy Rom and I am not able to pair it with the Dell Stowayway keyboard. It used to be OK with my previous HTC Polaris. Is this related to the HID Driver?
Basically, once I install the driver which comes with the BT keyboard, the HD2 recognizes the BT keyboard, but the 'enable' button on the HD2 application is not pressable, it is grey.
Any ideas? Could you please shortly explain you did it?
Thanks

Not having much luck at locating a bluetooth keyboard and mouse (compact in size) that is proven to work with the HD2. Any help? Thanks.
I know this keyboard works ...
http://www.chinavasion.com/product_info.php/pName/mini-bluetooth-keyboard-for-smartphones/
I use a full size apple bluetooth keyboard personally ...
Have not seen one , but I don't think a mouse will work at all, don't think the phone has mouse cursor support ...
MyMobiler
I use MyMobiler when I am at my computer. It allows me to use my computer to type and my mouse to click on things.

MyMobiler is so cool. While it doesn't replace a blue tooth keyboard and mouse, to be able to control your phone from the PC is mostly there. And it's free
Thanks for the link.
Well, there was one bluetooth mouse (regular small mouse, with scroll wheel and all) that, besides working on a regular PC with standard BT HID profile, came with a software driver for Windows Mobile, and one could use it with any WM device, so I assume it would work with the HD2.
It is the Stowaway BT Mouse, from Think Outside, the same company that made various full-size fold-up BT keyboards (which also work on any WM device).
Unfortunately, Stowaway was bought up by IGo (who mainly makes universal AC adaptors for laptops), and shortly thereafter, they shelved the whole product line. (Pretty dumb to buy up a company, then shelve its products, especially not being a competitor.) (And with the explosion in smartphones, I think that could be a growing niche, especially the keyboards. (Of course, now they would need to expand support for Iphone, Android, Blackberry, etc., as well as WM.)
So, that mouse and its software has been discontinued. However, I would bet that you could still find them on Ebay, Craigslist, etc. Look for Stowaway Bluetooth Mouse.
I was wondering if it possible to connect wireless (2.4GHz Micro Receiver) mouse Logitech V400 to Galaxy Tab.
Mouse in question is this
http://www.everythingusb.com/logitech_v400_laser_cordless_notebook_mouse.html
Any app that can simulate the receiver dongle?
No luck - I think
The Tab does not have either an IR or Radio transmitter that can send/receive a 2.4Ghz signal.
Why not get a bluetooth mouse? - mine works fine with the tab
Software to simulate a wireless receiver dongle? Um, no
As Bert says, you can just a bluetooth mouse, or you can try and track down the USB socket adaptor that Samsung was supposed to release for the SGT. I don't know if it's ever actually officially been released but if you want to try and use what is essentially a standard USB device, it might be your only option.

Nah... it's not possible. Just get a decent Bluetooth mouse... but check first if your ROM has the necessary HID support... I think the Verizon ROM makes problems in that case...
Just ask a friend who has a bluetooth mouse if you may try it, so you can be sure if the purchase of a new mouse (they are rather cheap though) pays off.
Just don't try Apple's Magic Mouse. I failed at pairing (Euro Tab, unlocked, unbranded, stock ROM)
T-Mo tab takes bluetooth mouse and keyboard. As soon as you pair, the cursor shows up. It's actually quite good.
Magic mouse to samsung gtab p1000
I was able to connect an apple magic mouse and Hid bt keyboard. The keyboard works great, the mouse scrolls and all, but no mouse pointer!;( im using a CM7 beta kang ROM. Ive seen posts for themouse pointer for cm7 but only for the evo4g, cant find anything for thep1000. If anyone knows please tell me, i would donate for this thank you.
wait, a magic mouse? I thought it would only run in Mac OSX and Windows!

Theres a difference between a wireless mouse and a bluetooth mouse. Wireless is a no-go.
use otg cable
Has anyone found a compatible bluetooth mouse? I can't find a standalone bluetooth mouse that will successfully pair with my DB (I have tried a Targus Model#: AMB04US and a Think Outside BT Mouse).
Furthermore, all posts I can find relating to the subject are for a keyboard with a built-in trackpad but I hate trackpads. I want to use a standalone bluetooth mouse and don't want to have to buy a dock (I am using the Webtop hack that bypasses the need for a dock).
Thanks in advance.
I successfully used my MS Bluetooth Mouse 5000 on the web-top. But here's the thing that might be causing your issue with the other mice: When I went to pair the mouse with the web-top it was waiting for me to enter a pairing code on the phone screen window and since i had that window behind a Firefox window and I didn't realize it the pairing process kept failing.
Logitech has a mouse out meant for android tablets. Maybe give that one a try?

Thanks for the suggestion. I get the pairing code window, but when I enter 0000, 1234, or 4321 (per Motorola Support's suggestion), they all fail. Targus support says it is because there is no PIN required. So if I enter something then delete the pin I entered (just to get the OK button to activate), it still fails.
I'm glad to hear that the MS Bluetooth Mouse 5000 works though. It appears reasonably priced online. Motorola wants me to go buy their mouse for $40+shipping. Seems a bit steep for something that clearly isn't working due to software incompatibility.

I wanted to close out this topic by giving others the following insight:
The MS Bluetooth 5000 mouse works flawlessly with my Droid Bionic both in standalone mode (nothing attached) and in Webtop mode (with the WebtopMod_Hack that enables you to get to webtop without a dock). I purchased it for $18 from a seller on eBay and found other sellers listing it for $20-$25.
Hope this helps future purchasers out.
Same here...
I'd also like to chime in and say the Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse 5000 works just fine.
It really irks me though, because I have an older (ironically) Bluetooth Mouse 8000 which I really liked because it had an integrated laser pointer and presentation controls on the underside of it. I could never get it to pair.
Microsoft must have made some changes in the device firmware stack because now with the 5000, I could get it to pair to my Bionic using the passkey 0000.
No matter what I tried, the 8000 would not pair.

I've just picked up Logitech's V470, and it works great! No issues

Identical setup (stock, rooted, webtop mod), identical results! In fact the V470 has worked on DX, Xoom, and now the Bionic for me with no issues.
Same problem with microsoft notebook presenter mouse 8000
Same problem. Imposible to sync MS Mouse notebook . (Asus Transformer Prime TF201)

I have the wireless Apple Mighty Mouse that I use with my Mac and that paired up well with the phone.
I'm running the latest CM9 SELFKANG. The cursor works fine. Scrolling with the trackball is great. Clicking is fine. But it lags and locks up horribly on stock. Anyone else notice that?
Mouse Acceleration?
Do you have any mouse acceleration with the mice you have tried? I just tried to plug in a Logitech MX518 to the USB-port and i have terrible mouse acceleration (when you move the mouse slowly the mouse sensitivity is really low, but when you move the mouse fast the sensitivity is much higher).
I need to find a mouse that does not do this (or a program that will correct it).
I found a solution to this maddening issue!!!
Solution is very simple!
1) Download an app called bluetooth pairing in Play Store, its in japanese but all you need to do is click the magnifying glass icon, then click your device and hit the big blue button that comes next..
2) Disable and enable your bluetooth on the phone, the device is already paired
3) Select the device and it works perfectly.
Discovered this fix accidentally..
I use the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000. Works awesome no need for a third party program the mouse cursor works fine and you can find tune the mouse cursor in the language and input settings of the settings menu. I really like using the scroll wheel and you can even use right click with in ES File Explorer.
I use this same mouse with my laptop.

Anyone tried a Razer Orochi mouse? That is the bluetooth mouse I want to pick up for my laptop since I hate dongles and am adding a bluetooth transmitter internally to the laptop. Would be nice to have a mouse that will work for both my laptop and for my DB with the lapdock. I know that with the lapdock most USB dongle wireless mice will work but I hate dongles and I know one day I'm going to lose the stupid thing and be SOL.
