I would like to know if its possible to remove some icons from the systray (upper right corner)
1.) Battery: useless since im using batti, i dont need the battery icon there.
Batti has an optionto show or not the icon, but it doesnt work.
2.) Sound: useless imo, since i can access the volume control by just pressing the volume keys on the left side of the Diamond.
Ive searched alot and can fix this.
Tired lots of battery apps, but none will disable the icon.
Ive tried this code:
Code:
hklm\software\microsoft\shell\ShowTitleBarClock
0=battery
1=clock
2=neither
3=Both
but as soon as i access the system setting the battery icon will return.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi all,
I recently added a battery bar program called Batti2.1. It is a really great program and i like it a lot. There is, however, one small bug...
When using the program it remaps the Calendar soft key to "Notification". Rather it does not remap it but always displays the "Notification" word. I guess this is so because it gives me a setting asking me if i want the battery indicator in the top bar (which is what i want). When i click on the notification icon it gives me detail about the battery etc. When i am done and click on hide, it goes back to saying "Notification".
When i recieve an sms or missed call, it then resets the soft key back to the original "Calender" and does not come up with the "Notification" key i usually get when i have a missed call or sms notification.
Is there a registry setting to disable the batti program's notification icon or am i stuck with this for good (so long as i have the program installed)??
Has anybody else used this program? Had this same problem? It is a really good piece of software and does not affect anything else.
Can anybody help please. I have included screenshots and attached the batti file incase anyone is interested in looking at this useful program.
yep...that happens...i remember when i used that program...get...um...damn i cant remember the name of the program i used..

Wow... that is annoying. Nice program, but I see your dilemma.
Whenever there's a notification (such as wi-fi detected), the left soft key is remapped to it. PocketPlayer does that on mine. I don't mind because I can use the today screen plugin to access the calendar.
Use VistaHide battery gauge instead.
Thanks to those who replied.
Tinkering around with the program i discovered a solution. In settings option set the following settings:
<PLEASE SEE IMAGE CAPTURE NUMBER 3 IN THE ATTACHMENTS>
I then click ok and hide the diolog box (hide button). The notifiaction and icon on the top bar are gone. However, there is a small bar right on the top of the top bar with graduations along it. This is the battery bar and each graduation represents 5%. When you tap this bar once, the notification box comes up and displays all the info. When you tap on hide, it all goes away. No more remapping.
Thanks to those who tried to help out.
batti 2.4 is out but the sounds portion doesnt work on the touch pro ... plays the sounds at random rimes
http://code.google.com/p/batti/
very nice work...
perfect for my touch pro.. i didn't check the sounds part, but i'm not interested right now..
i'd like to have a button in programs tab to open the view information page... can someone give me some help?
respect!
Hi,
Anyone found a way to move the new windows taskmanger over a few icons towards the middle? It's always hidden under the X and thus useless to change programs. In fact it might be useful to order/move all the icons in the top task bar??
I've always used Magic Button but it doesn't seem to work that well with WM6.1, Ariel or WiseBar might be an option? Otherwise thinking of remapping one of the very scarce buttons??
Thanks.
Somehow I managed to remove the icon completely. Anyone who knows how to get it back?
settings -> taskmanager , choose button tab.
Hi,
Yep, that was how I setup TaskManager.
x Enable "X" button to end running programs
x End programs by tapping "X"
o End programs by tapping and holding "X"
x Enable Quick Menu on Today screen
x = checked
... however the TaskManager quick menu in under the "X" button. i.e. you have to close every program to get to the manager to change to the program you want ... but now it's closed??
I could use tap & hold to end, then minimise every program to change, but I was thinking like magic button - if I could just move the |||> icon over one space to the left I could tap TaskManger and then go to the program I want. Maybe I'm just being really really dumb?
Missing TaskManger dis this fix the problem?
Hi there,
I´m trying to hide the soft buttons bar. I already tried pmc today shrink and softbar remover, both found searching the forums.
Problem is, I still want to display the tray (in the place of the soft button bar - the goal is to increase today space without loosing the tray).
With pmc today shrink, the soft buttons bar is gone, but also the tray.
With softbar remover, the softbar is gone, but the tray remains in the same place (so today screen space is not bigger).
Does any1 have any idea about doing this ?
Thanks in advance.

well with pmc the buttons are still usable. you just have to hit the actual soft key buttons not the touch screen.
my 2centz.
Well... yes, I know
Thats exactly what I want: I want to get rid of the softbar, but be able to still use it by pressing the soft buttons (hence, why I think there is no need to have it on screen).
What I want is to hide the softbar, and still be able to see the system tray at the bottom of the screen...
The problem is that with both solutions I have found, I can´t do that: with the first, the softbar is gone but the tray remains at the same place, so I can´t make use of the extra pixels. And with the second, both the softbar and the tray are gone.
Thanks for trying to help
On WM6.0 I had very rarely problems with VJ Toggle Today II, it basically just hides the soft menu and everything else moves down, it looks great and the soft keys still work, PHM Task Launch works perfect, programs show up in the tray at the very bottom of the screen, the Today screen items can take up the extra space that has been made above it, etc..
The executable is: vjtoggletodayiialpha.exe and you just put it in Startup. I have to tweak the registry to get it just perfect, the following post documents it, has a link to it, etc..

It says WM5 only but it works fine for me on WM6.0 and WM6.1 Caveat with WM6.1; after reboot I have to slide the phone once for the task tray to show up at all. It's just empty down at the bottom otherwise. It happened every so often with WM6.0, but 100% of the time with WM6.1. But it's a fairly minor annoyance. I might see if there's some way to automate this with MortScript or something and put it at the end of the startup list.
Amazing!!
Reinstalled pmc todayshrink and as you mentioned, opening the keyboard made the tray reappear.
Thanks!! Now my today screen is looking the way I want.
You may also want to try dcinobar. It is a very small program that lowers the softkey bar but still allows the system tray to be seen.

D/L link in post #12.
EDIT: But you will have to slide the phone open and close it to make the tray go to the bottom as well...
I purchased the phone today,It's just awesome. The screen is large,Resolution is perfect,Call quality is superb and I won't say anything about the design,so elegant and classy. But I found some issues which are bothering me. 1st-Is there any Bigger Qwerty virtual keyboard available for landscape mode? The in built one is good but hard to type fast,it's not worth that big screen size. I used a 5800XM previously and the qwerty landscape was very good,is there anything like that available for the TD2?
2nd-The last Win Mo device I used was a Xperia X1i,it also had 6.1.but in the Task Manager bar there were 3-4 icons like Battery , Volume , Network Strength Signal and Edge/GPRS etc. Now when I clicked on those icons they showed as they were clicked,like if I clicked the Battery icon then it showed the Battery level or for the volume icon it showed the Volume and there was an option to go to Communication Manager. But in TD2 any icon I click on the Task bar it shows only ONE thing that is- 'Notifications' and under that no 'New Notifications'. Why is that? I just want that OLD mode I had in the Xperia.
3rd- Is there any option to see the Battery percentage details? It only shows 4 bars.
1 - search for fingerkeyboard
2 - don't know
3 - download and install http://www.zimmi.cz/files/diamond2/sdkcerts.cab and http://www.zimmi.cz/files/diamond2/FInixNOverBattery.cab
2. Search for "Notification Manager". You have to deactivate HTC's notification manager.

1. There are many input methods out there. You can go on Youtube & watch for the demo see if that's what you're looking for: TouchPal, Spb keyboard, Resco keyboard pro, Fingerkeyboard, EzInput.
2. This fixes your problem. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=515629&highlight=notification + Soft Reset.
Of course you need a Registry Editor to do this & I personally recommend Resco's.
3. See post #5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=511560&highlight=battery+indicator
Thanks for mentioning those good keyboards. But where to find and download them? for free of course.
Just click on the start button either on the screen or in the bottom near to the call button you will see the next screen tap on the settings icon on the next screen in the bottom left corner tap all settings in the next screen you can see the battery icon when you tap the systems tab. Have an exploration on your phone and see the changes from the Old Diamond
Hey, I'm trying to find some custom widgets (specifically, a more useful audio/music player widget, and possibly a hack to remove the Garbage icon from the Edit Layout screen). I've had no luck so far. Does anyone know of anything I can try?
For the audio/music player widget, I would love something that's more responsive (the buttons on the default widget seem to require a very firm push, not just a tap), and maybe additional buttons to show a minimal playlist, or to start your default music player, etc.
For the garbage icon, I would love to be able to put more icons on the bottom of the screen, but every time I try, it just goes to the garbage, no matter how carefully I try to move them. The garbage icon really isn't needed, since you can just click any icon and hit delete, so I don't know why they put it there at all.
Also, something that's been annoying me...when I lock my phone, the "unlock" bar appears across the bottom of the screen, covering up part of Mobile Shell...it just looks really ugly. Anyone know of any kind of fix for this?
Thanks for any help/advice guys.

To remove the Garbage-Icon try ShellExtension from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4664016&postcount=285
One of it's features:
• Add or remove the recycle bin in the edit menu’s
I'm very happy with that ...
