Has anyone tried it yet? Does it work? Looks nice, probably way better than the diamond one. I'm still waiting for my diamond so I can't try it out myself. If someone would be so kind, I'd really appreciate it.

Yes, Touchpal v3 is better then the Diamond one...
There are lots of staff in Touchpal V3 which Diamond one doesn't have.....
Does it also work in landscape mode? That is if you change the screen orientation by some other program first...

TouchPal 3
I have been using Touchpal 3 for a while. I wouldnt use anything else. It is a great keyboard. You can change swizes on the fly, change keyboards instantly, store passwords and phrases. Works and looks great on my TD. Skinnable....get it..much better than TD keyboard.

I must totally agree, great keyboard
I have it installed too, it is a great Keyboard but I have been experiencing lock ups when using it so currently using diamond one! gonna try going back to it again soon, see if the lock ups come back!!
Rich
Make sure you install in main memory, I've had lockups on TouchDual if installed in storage...
I can't get it to work. Intalls then says it needs to reboot to finish, then when it comes back on - nothing there?

Make sure u download the version for Windows Mobile 6.1
I had the same problem, after downloading TouchPal for WM 6.1 everything worked fine
Better use FingertouchPro directly.
It's by far superior, supports several languages, and uses very little CPU. All in one, it's a more compact product, designed with high speed text input technologies , I've seen two on the website: www.fingertouchpro.com
Why choosing touchpal when are several other (better) alternatives?

I did, unfortunatelly
I tried it and had to give up. There is absolutely no way to move the 'space' key in the T9 layout, unlike the other layouts. Which makes it unsafe to use when holding in the right hand I find.
Did you enable "Allow drag able keys"?
I have no problem moving the keys around, ncluding space.
TouchPal V3 the greatest SIP by far. Ever since I had started using it I rarely use the slideout hardware keyboard on my TyTn II

It does work in landscape mode, but not as you might expect:
it will not scale the buttons like for the iPhone. You will get left and right borders, so it is not easier to type with.
But: I bought it, the swifting feature is wonderful. Just try it, you have some day of fully free usage!

Better? Maybe in your opinion.
I, and many other people, find Touchpal much better and more advanced than the alternatives.
From the tone of your messages, it sounds like you had some problem with Touchpal...well fair enough, but maybe you should describe what the problem was?
I've been using Touchpal for some months, first on my Touch Cruise, and now on my Diamond, without any major problems. With the latest version 3.5 is just gets better and better.
Ben
Is version 3.5 really that much better then the Diamond's own keyboards ?
Obviously the sliding of keyboards and stretching are cool... but are the keys that much easier to use ? I know its not that expensive, but it still takes up space and cpu cycles on the phone.
Maybe good idea to see how well I get on with the built in keyboards first then instal the trial.

Have looked everywhere and don't see that as an option. I can move the space key in the usual keyboard layouts but none other.
Any ideas where the setting is?
Cheers
EDIT
Apparently you can't move the space key in T9 layout due to the disambiguation that occurs down left side. A HUGE mistake in my opinion as having the space to the right makes this a very unsafe keyboard to use right handed. My Diamond is too precious to risk dropping for a space key. Back to the original T9 for me then! That's a lost purchase on CooTek side.
TouchPal v3.5 is just released!
http://www.cootek.com/intro.aspx
The new skin fits in diamond pretty well. And, well, use it and I promise you won't go back to diamond stock keyboard anymore.
FULLY agree. Saw new diamond keyboard and though "kewl, cootek got a sale" then realised that HTC version just SUX!! You have to try cootek's to see how much better it is - and I only use the free version!
I use the T9 and for me it sucks because of the pop up to confirm what you type and the buttons are smaller. I have large fingers.. I paid for it and it sucks because i cant use it well.. can i skin it for larger buttons and possibly kill the press/view option. it makes me think i am pressing the wrong key.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm going from a physical keyboard to the virtual keyboard on my htc touch diamond and its taking some time to get used to. I've been experimenting with various soft keyboard replacements and touchpal is my favorite so far.
Again thanks!

great keyboard..hope they give it for free
Hi, do you have a problem when you need to type text message but only one hand is free? Standard on screen keyboard has to small letters, for me it is impossible to use hardware keyboard with one hand. It will be great to install keyboard which will mimic standard mobile phone keyboard one click on 1 will type a, two clicks b, and so on… and which will cover half of screen similar to keyboard which pop ups when you are calling someone.
It will be great if someone posts link where I can download that additional keyboard for wm6.1
Thanks

Have Fun, Its free.
Just install cab, restart phone and then select PCM Keyboard from drop up menu for keyboard.
Any Probs, Message Me.

there are a lot of keyboard you could use for your device. All you have to do is a small and simple search with google, altavista or if you prefer in this forum too.
btw, you can look for Cooteck Touchpal, PocketCm, Resco Keyboard, Spb Keyboard and of course the one extracted from Diamond (P1TATER or similar)
good luck and sorry for bad english.
fausto
Sorry to say it, but for one hand operation I don't think anything beats the standard cell phone hardware keypad.
there is this HTC keypad.cab..that looks like the conventional cellphone keypad hardware..im still looking for it too
Check out the Touchpal keyboard before you make your decision once you get used to it you can type faster with one hand then some people with two.

Just wanted to say thanks. I hated this type of keyboard with it no individual key layout when I tried a similar version before. BUt this one is great.Takes some getting used to but I going to give it a week and see how it goes.
Many thnks!
No problem once I got used to it there is no comparison I hardly even use the hardware keyboard because it is slower than Touchpal. Good Luck

what do you guys think about the Resco Keyboard Pro. I have been using that and seems ok.
All apologies for the unintentional hijack, but I installed PCM Keyboard and also Touch Diamond Keyboard, but now word completion no longer works. They work great, but I checked word completion settings and it is set, but no longer suggests words. Is this normal?

I found it to be the best. I downloaded some nicer iSkin layouts
Every time I try to use the PocketCM, nothing happens when I change to it in the menu where I can select which entry type I want.....what am I doing wrong?
I have used all other keyboards including Resco etc but I have found that SPB Keyboard is now the best. It has an option to have the keyboard in landscape mode and it becomes very big, enabling one to type with one hand very easily. Try it out. It also has many skins available for download from SPB's site.

i agree spb keyboard is great, but how do you make it as the default keyboard? it seems that after a soft reset the keyboard goes to the orig. one and have to select spb KB again.
I tried all keyboards and didn't like any. Then I found "EZ input". It works best for me.
try/google for SPB KEYBOARD v4.x
in my opinion, the best keyboard i've ever tested (and i've tested a lot of..)!
unfortunately it isn't freeware.. but the money worth(?) it

If you activate the Spb Keyboard, Tap on the sip arrow, go to Spb Keyboard Options>System tab then check box to make it default keyboard. Then it is always there even after soft resets. There are also several different skins to download for free from Spb's site. My favourites are skin4 and stainless. I use skin4 all the time now because keys are nice and big for my fingers.

hi, thanks for the response.
i did that already and even in the input method but every after soft reset the keyboard is the one appearing and not the spb KB, i have to select it again.
FingerTouch v1.0
I found FingerTouch v1.0 and I think Is´s better then SPB Keybord, because FingerTouch have relly big buttons and with this keybord is relly possible to write with one hand during walking. If I were you I would try It because It´s excelent keybord. It has 4 or 5 types of keybords and you can download a lot of skins.
I'm starting to get a little bored of how bad the onscreen keypads are on the Kaiser. Is it possible to use the keypads from some of the later HTC models such as the Diamond, Touch HD or Touch Pro?
Resco Keyboard. Ive used it for months and it doesnt get boring!!!
http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/keyboard/default.asp
I've tried a few and the nicest I've found is actually the Diamond one which you can get here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=392197
Careful though. It looks like it doesn't uninstall well...
A very nice freeware keyboard is pocketCM Keyboard which is also skinable:
http://www.pocketcm.com/keyboard2.php
Whichever you choose, you'll probably want an use the app attached to stop your phone going back to the default keyboard every time you soft-reset
SPB Keyboard.
a nice qwerty and full screen keyboard.
but no phone pad like layout.

I have TouchResponse installed, so the device vibrates every time you touch the screen (Haptic feedback).
Personally I have used Resco Keyboard which is great, but now I have SPB Keyboard which is by far the best and it has many skins available. It can also click if you want.
Hi, i'd like to know which keyboard do you use when you dont use de qwerty one. Ive seen some CAB files but i really dont know "which one is better". I think its about taste, but that why i ask you all, to know which one do you all use so i can "think" about which one will i use
thank you very much!!!!
I use sometimes fingertouch and sometimes default WM one.....
i'd say "FingerKeyb 2.1" is the best one so far... It's free, it's good, it's even customizable (just a bonus, not necessary) x1 has wvga-resolution, download the right cab!
Ezinput is even better (made by HTC), but it messes up the hw-keyboard, makes it unusable. there are others like SPB etc, but they're not free and definitely not better than FingerKeyb.
one problem they all share is the small screen of the x1, unless you have really really tiny hands.
Well, I never use software keyboard in landscape. In portrait I use the default WinMo one haha. I have the SPB keyboard as well, but it is kinda ugly. From time to time the Bulgarian keyboard is pretty useful. The Resco keyboard is very nice too.
The XT9 keyboard is good for landscape and portrait. Um.. I have one called "fullscreen keyboard", but I don't remember where I got it from lol.

Not true, u can still install CE star, it has handwriting capabilities which can work for English characters. Does anyone know of the new EZ input keyboard which Agent_47 used to package in his manila 2.5 rom? It looks real good and was large enough, but pretty laggy. Does anyone have the cab? I want see if its laggy on a non manila 2.5 rom
XT9
Try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=494026
It has large finger-friendly keys and allows for fast text entry with the feel of the old-style phone keypad.

do you mean the sip selector? (tiny triangle at bottom of screen- i think!!)
if so, in fingerkeyboard settings, in the 'options' tab you can choose to 'show bar' in portrait or landscape. this will then will allow you to use the sip selector, and also the soft keys
fingerkeyboard and softtouch maxkeys gets my vote
spb keyboard. its a really nice keyboard, easy to write with. also has options to add vibrations when u touch a key if u like that sort of thing.
