XDA Mini S, no windows media player?

Hi guys, I've had my device a few weeks, I'm yet to play mp3.s etc, today I come to play a small movie file, only to discover I don't have windows media player, it's not in the program list, and when I look in the programs folder, the windows media player on contains 3 skins but no application.
Can I download this from somewhere?

I have it on my O2 Mini S (UK), perhaps a hard reset is in order?
Just checked a friends, who got his on the same day, and no media player? eek
Did you check the Start Menu? When a shortcut is activated on the Start Menu it is not shown on the Programs list. As far as I know by default [after setup] Phone, Messaging, Calendar, Windows Media and a couple more items are activated on the Start Menu.

Windows Media Problem

Guyz yesterday i installed Smartmovie with CoreMP4 codecs..since than i cant hear sound when i play any thing through WMP..but when i use GSplayer i can hear without any problems...wat could be the reaseon....
ps :- ive also uninstalled the Codec (not smartmovie)
I think the file you have installed overwrites the codec of the wmp and wmp do not recognizes the codec... just my opinion...
thats what i think so...thats y i un-installed the codec..but still..
Either the codec uninstall didn't reset codecs settings to default or Smartmovie itself is the culprit. You can try by first uninstalling Smartmovie, if that doesn't bring WMP back to life you'll have to find a WMP cab or create one from the kitchen. Never tried something like that myself, still strugling on cooking my first ROM (WM6 Dutch), but I believe it should be possible.
last night i remoced Smartmovie and without even resetting..the WMP was working againi...

WMP skins/ WMP instead of HTC Player in TF3D

In other WM ppc we used to install WMP skins in program files\Windows media player folder. In T-Diamond it doesn't show up. Can any body provide details as to change WMP SKIN
WMP instead of HTC player in TF3D? Is it possible?
Skins disabled in WM Player?
Further to the above,
I too am dropping WM skins in to the Media Player folder, however, when I browse for the skins in Media Player, the Next and Previous buttons are greyed out. either indicating that media player cant see the skins (though it sees the default skin in the same folder) OR the ability has been locked out.
I'm running an O2 Ignito.
So - is their a reg key to enable skins, if this is indeed the issue?

WMP doesn't run anymore .3gp or .mp4

Hi, I’m writting to you from Brazil.
I’ve got a TyTN II with WM 6.1 Pro and Windows Media Player Mobile doesn’t play anymore .3gp or .mp4. I can record, but not view it with WMP. It seems a missing codec : " No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection”. I can view it with CorePlayer, but there is some apps that always "call" WMP, like HTC Album.
Someone could help me fix WMP ?
Thanks a lot.
I am in the same boat
The same for me. I don't know why. I tried to install an another version of Windows Media but stil the same. It's annoying when I try to run a video from HTC album. "The filter source could not be loaded". One week I'm on this, I'm bored !
If someone has any information. Thanks.
Hi,
My problems start when I did a registry cleanup with Pocket Mechanic. I could do some file associations with Resco Explorer, but I only fixed the mess with a hard reset. Sorry!!! It seems to be a missing codec, but I think the problem is in the registry.
Same problem
I just noticed it gives me the same message when I try to run videos. I also used Pocket Mechanic to clean the registry.
Any fixes on this?

HTC Home VGA version and audiomanager

I found a VGA version of HTC Home and installed it, and that's working great. Much faster than TF3D. However, I flashed Da_G's clean rom, which doesn't have audiomanager, so I can't use the built-in media player on the home screen. It just says, "The file 'AudioManager' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalled or restoring the file." I can't customize Home either because HHC doesn't work with this version for some reason. I found a post that had all the files for AudioManager, but when I tried to paste them to the Windows directory via my computer, it wouldn't let me copy .xml files over (said something about not being allowed to create this file), and if I tried to copy them over from my storage card it froze the phone. So my question is, does anyone know of a cab for AudioManager that actually works, or if there's any way to customize HTC Home WITHOUT using HTC Home Customizer in order to get the media player to use WMP or some other media player? I had a different, resized QVGA version of Home that used WMP instead of AudioManager, but it looked kinda like crap. Thanks.
