Hi Everyone,
I am running WM6.1Pro standard HTC ROM.
Since installing Windows Live, when I open my email from the standard today icon it opens by default to Hotmail. How do I change this to Outlook? I have searched all the forums, Google and the MS site to no avail.
Your help is appreciated.

Hi Guys,
I've noticed for a while and never got round to asking any one but I've asked a few guys in the office who also have Windows Mobile / Smartphone's and they seem to have the same issue.
The issue is that when you sync with your Work PC its fine and the Calendar keeps the Organiser and the Attendees.
But when you sync at home it will convert the Metting Organiser to yourself and then have an issue with attendess it doesn't know about.
One why for the second option is to add them to your contacts list but why does it change the Organiser? I wonder (not yet tested) if I add the meeting organisers to my Contacts list if that will fix it?
Any help would be appreciated.
Many Thanks.
Hi there.
I've got a problem on my kaiser (tytn II) using htc official WM6.1 ROM.
I can download my mail from gmail using pop3 but before I can even click on a new mail all my mails are deleted.
Can anyone help me with this really frustrating issue.
What email do you have? I had this issue with Gmail, and had to set up differently from other email. Instead of selecting "automatically detect settings" I had to go to the Gmail support page and follow instructions to set up manually.

I had this problem when using AT&T Express; by any chance you're using it. I solved the same probably by removing AT&T Express. Then I went to 'Manage Folders' in 'Messaging' & selected which folders to sync.

Stop using POP3. WM6.1 has IMAP4 support and it is vastly superior to POP.
problem solved
thanks all for your advise.
My tytn was automatically changing time setting to GMT+2 but I live in france (GMT+1).
setting up my location and removing automatic setting fix my issue.
PS: imap is not yet available on my operator network.
Here si the fix on the HTC and disappearing emails
1 start/message/click email account/menu/tools/options/tap email account/edit account setup/next/next/next/next/next/download message 3 pls days/advance setting/keep them on server/next/ finish
Do this for all accounts
Now go to your computer and outlook tools/email accounts/view or change email account/next/change/ more settings/advanced/leave copy on server/ how many days is up to you
You must do this for all you accounts on that computer. then do the same to all the computer you use to get the same e-mails.
I used to have a Wizard and in the ROM was Windows Live and I set this up for my Hotmail account. When I started Messaging (i.e. Pocket Outlook) I was presented with four options - SMS \ MMS, Outlook E-mail, Windows Live & Setup E-mail. With my Kaiser I also have Windows Live included in the ROM however when I set it up with my Hotmail account and then launch Messaging I am presented with SMS \ MMS, Outlook E-mail, Hotmail & Setup E-mail.
I know it is pretty trivial and merely aesthetic but I preferred 'Windows Live' to 'Hotmail'. I have tried in vain to edit the .rgu & provxml files and then re-cook the ROM to change this but have only managed to screw it up more than 'fix' it. Does anyone know what needs changing to make this 'aesthetic' change?
It's Windows Live version 10.6.34.800 and its provided as three folders in SYS in the kitchen (WindowsLive, WindowsLive_DPI_96 & WindowsLive_Lang_0409).
Thanks
Andy
Hello folks,
I just installed the Gmail Java app. It works fine but I have problem reading the messages !!
The diamond as a excellent VGA screen but the gmail app displays the message with no zoom, as if it was a QVGA screen (works great on a HTC Cruise).
Does anybody know how to increase the text siez of the gmail app ?
Thanks in advance.
See the attachef picture and image reading it on a 2.8" screen...
why java app for gmail?
if you want, you can configure an account email on diamond for gmail, and in settings of the gmail prefs on the web, you can configure the pop account for receive the mail in your mail client.
works fine, i just use this configuration, also for 4 different account.

With the Java client you can use all the search functionality of Gmail. No offline client would give you this option, except you download all your mail (up to 7GB currently) to your device.
That's what makes Gmail different from all other mail providers. All IMAP or POP access turns Gmail into an account like any other. The difference is in the search all mail functionality. You'll never understand this until you used it.

Thank you for the tip : I used it, but it's not fast as the java app... and the search functionality is awesome...
Furthermore, gmail handles my 6 personal mail accounts : I use the label / archive functionality.
But I tested the IMAP WM6 client : he does not retrieve correctly all the subfolders of gmail... gmail or WM6 issue ?? I don't have issues with outlook 2003 ou entourage in IMAP config...
gmail IMAP with the wm6 client is useful if you use it in "push" mode (always on).
I guess if google can't provide a client that's readable in VGA you will have to use your web browser.
yep... I think I'm going to stick to that...
I'll send a feedback to google on this issue...
Cheers.
Problem solved !
Hello, i finally managed to find my answer !
I installed the US version version on gmail java 1.5 !
it has an option to enlarge the text.
See the pict.
I've been using the gmail java client with the "large font" switch on for quite some time. But the fonts are still too small, especially when you are walking.
I'm using JBed, what jvm are you using?
Hi!
I'm using the HTC embedded java machine (Esmertec Jbed). My ROM is a genuine HTC rom.
But you're right, even with "Large Font" option, the text is very small...
Cheers.
Search here for Esmertec Jbed new version , so u can define the font size in the registry
I've been using java gmail for a while, but I just switched to real onlie gmail, which happens to be better and faster, in my opinion.

Hey everyone,
Google recently released official sync support for Windows Mobile devices. Google Sync supports synchronization with Google Calendar and Google Contacts. Instructions can be found here.
The issue is that the instructions and respective screen shots do not correspond with the Touch Flo interface, and I see no way of inputting a server address within the Diamond's ActiveSync client.
Does anyone know how to set up Google Sync with the Diamond? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
Elliot
Just follow the instructions from the link you provided.
I will start you off:
Start>Programs>ActiveSync>Menu>Add Server Source....
..and then follow the instructions from your link!
Thank you! I was confused because it asked for my email address before the server address. My calendar and contacts synced almost perfectly, but I still have a couple of issues that maybe you could resolve:
1. Despite that everything synced, ActiveSync shows an "Attention required" message that says,
"Synchronization could not be completed. If this condition persists, try deleted and then re-creating the device's sync relationships.
Support code:0x80004005"
2. Is there anyway to get the Diamond's calendar application to recognize and distinguish between the multiple calendars I have in Google Calendar?
Thanks again,
Elliot
Google sync is used only for contacts and calendar sync, so if you check the mail or task in the option of activesync, you will have an error.
Just check contact and calendar and enjoy.

I've had no luck in getting this to work. Always get this error 'ActiveSync cannot reach the server. Check that the server address and proxy server settings are correct' Support code: 0x80072F78
Any ideas?

It will work as I've tried it setting up sever on the diamond, but you can also do it via activync.
I have stopped using it as I would get a couple of good syncs then the same error messages as your getting.
Also google and outlook do not play nice with each other.
All my contacts revert to Lastname_Firstname on my diamond, and the "file as" gets messed up.

Just configured the sync options on my Diamond (1) with WM6.5. But the contact sync works fine, but none of my google calendar items will appear in the calendar of my Diamond.
Is this due to WM6.5? Or are there other possibilities?
Well I successfully synchronized my HTC Diamond. But after this the ActiveSync on my handset would start automatically after regular intervals creating memory issues for me. I tried all the methods available on this forum to solve this problem but finally I had to Hard-Reset my handset. So pls try this on ur own risk.
I just configured my phone to sync every 4hr on and off-peak times, but only told it to sync contacts and it seems to be working pretty well.
Hopefully, this will reduce the amount of time it spend syncing and then I can let OggSync manage my calendar. Unfortunately, I synced my calendar and contacts first so I now have a bunch of duplicate events on my google calendar.
I wish I had know about this months ago... doh! Thanks!
