I'm on orange UK and all of a sudden my 3g/ 2.5g / 2g has stopped working, i.e. I can't connect at all or even download new weather :-( It just says it can't connect.
I've tried flashing a different radio and ROM but no change, any one got any ideas what to try ?

Check that all settings are correct and if they are try the SIM in another phone?
All the settings look okay, dont have another unlocked phone unfortunatley ;-(

Aha, then you got a problem..
If none of your friend's got a phone that it works to put it in I'd suggest that you contact your Telco about it or the place you bought it from and see what they've got to say about it..

yeah, was just about to post....my Orange UK died too, came back about 30 mins ago. Glad its all sorted. You then have the worry that something else is not working right when you have these unexplained glitches.....damn orange Sorted now though

Hi, I have noticed that a few have already complained about this issue
I'll tell you what happened to me:
I went on holiday from Israel to Jordan for 2 days.
My Kaiser did not roam as my sim wasn't open for Intl. Roaming so it couldn't find a network.
Also I did not charge it so the Battery went dead.
Following that two days I got home gave my Kaiser a full charge and could not get the network back.
I have done many Soft resets, 2 hard resets & spoken to HTC Help Desk.
The only thing HTC could tell me was to send the Kaiser to the UK for repair as they have not heard of this issue before.
Obviously I do not want to send it as I am sure it's not hardware but something else only.
My Kaiser was perched in the US (made in GB)
Network is Cellcom , which by the way I have tried other Sims in me Kaiser since this happened but with no success.
This issue is very frustrating as I feel helpless regarding this issue & I don’t know what to do

First, try just removing the SIM card, then re-inserting it to see if the phone reconfigures itself. You may have to do a power on without sim card, before you re-insert it.
If that fails, do a hard reset so it goes back to factory default settings, then the inserted SIM card should set up the phone settings properly.

I think this MIGHT be a bug/issue
I had this last week for almost 4 hours. I dont think the network was down but if it was then T-mobile did not state anything anywhere
I had reception all day and then suddenly around 5:30pm, I lost it and did not get it back until late evening

Hi , yes its the same problem
It shows the networks arround but it can't register to them only the !.. icon
This has nothing to do with the network carier as the sim works in all my other phones .

I have THE SAME situation. I believe this is the bug which MUST be solved by HTC! Or at least by someone. I still haven't found the solution. Have anybody done??
Has anyone tried what happens when 3G is disabled (GSM mode)?
I'm having the same problem for the last couple of days in the UK with Orange, but when I switch to GSM (Settings->Personal->Phone->Band->Network Type = GSM) it works fine.

I tried to do that - no result. I have made hard reset - no result. I have dowloaded update WM6.1 from offical site HTC and installed it - no result.
Also, during two days, I calculated at least 20 persons who had this problem around the world. I can not believe that nobody researched this problem yet!

I am also suffering from same issue.
My kaiser drop network at around 5PM till 1 hr approx, it hapeend for a week almost then I update radio then it was working ok, but still its not permanent solution.
Now a days my kaiser leaves network anytime and then it will not connect how hard u try, reset, hard boot, flash anything and after sometime suddenly it works.... magic.
I check sim with other phones its working gr8. but with this phone network gives trouble, I dont have 3G here in India, so its running on GSM.
Please somebody find solution, I'll post if I get any solution.

Did you try with manual selection of mobile network (start->Settings->Personal->Phone->Band->Network)?
i did the network setting and put it as GSM and it works like a champ
BUT
i lost the 3G capabilities. One of the reason i purchase Kaiser is because the 3G capability.
using other Kaiser will give me a full 3G capabilities so i start wondering whether this is a hardware issue or software

My Tilt is having a weird problem, which started all of a sudden on 7th morning.
No matter how muchever i try, the phone radio does not connect to my Mobile Network. It keeps saying "searching....." till eternity.
I was using Dutty's V4 + 1.27.12.32 radio.
All was working fine till today early morning. Around 10 am i try to connect to gprs, and i am not able to, then i do a soft reset, and then i see that my phone cannot connect to my mobile network at all. My mobile network is AIRTEL, in India. The phone keeps saying "searching..." and never stops that and hence now i am not connected to my network.
I have flashed different radio roms since morning - .17, .11, .32 again but no luck. Then i reflashed it with Schaps latest 4.33 rom (wm6), but still no result.
Then i thought maybe my sim is bad, and so i put my wife's Vodafone sim, and that worked! (Vodafone works on a different band than Airtel. this i know coz i have a SonyEricsson Mobile handset 3g-enabled of "3" from australia which works only with Vodafone in India, and not with any other network)
Then i put my sim back and it doesnt work again. While my sim is working perfect in my wife's iPhone.
can someone please help me in this, and tell me what i can do?
i wonder if the phone is somehow network locked or something like that ?
i sure did HARDSPL when i first got the TILT one month back. I have also tried flashing with WM6.1 and its respective radios, but with no success.
Please suggest what can i do to get it back up. Its really strange as its been working perfect till morning 8am.

I'd go get a new SIM card and test from there.
did you try checking the phone settings to see if anything there might be the cause of the problem? there is the ability to select/override band selection in the phone settings, along with other things you can try to change.

1. I did get a new simcard and still its unsuccessful.
2. Yes i tried changing the phone settings for changing the BAND, and there seems to be a problem on one of the bands.
VODAFONE works on the 800 band in india. and AIRTEL works on the other one, which is not working...

I have a big problem with my N1, this day i used my phone as normal, calls, web and so on...
Now my phone are completly unable to connect to my provider Telenor, i have tryed the sim card in another phone and that works nice so the problem is the telephone.
My phone is a "Open phone" with this info:

I have updated radio with:TheOfficial_Nexus1_Radio_Update_4.03.00.21_2 (for ere27)
I have wiped and installed my NexDESIRE-v1.2_REMIX two times without any luck.
WLAN works nice.
Are there anybody else that can help me?

This was an odd problem.. I my self have a N1 running with a Telenor simcard in Norway, and i have had no problems, have been running Stock, cyanogenMod, + other roms, and never had any problems like this, now i'm running 2.2 and no problems what so ever..
Try Flashing the new 2.2 update this includes a new radio image. Remember nandroid backup first!.. and WIPE everything just to be safe..

This could also be that your phone are trying to connect to Netcom instead of the Telenor network.. try this steps:
Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > Network operators > then select Telenor from the list. If every things ok, it should say "Registered on network" (sometimes the phone use some time searching for network operators).

try froyo, thats my only/best guess on getting this to work again. Worst case call HTC. So you have tried the method selecting network operator manualy?

then i have no idea what so ever.. try calling HTC costumer service and ask them if they can help you, just remember not to tell them that your phone have a unlocked boot loader as this voids the warranty.. Sorry i couldn't be more helpful..

I had the same problem, it may be a problem with NexDesire.
I flashed nexDesire and over night the radio died on me. I tried multiple different SIM's and ROMS (which I can account that work on my brother's Nexus One fine) with no luck.
I had to send it back to HTC, we'll see how it comes out when I get it back in a few days.
Leave the phone sitting for 5 minutes, if it still hasn't found it try doing a manual network search. If it still won't work, pull the battery, boot up again and repeat the process. I've had to do this 3-4 times a couple of times to get it to pickup my network.
Opps, that dosen't sound good...
This is a little cises for me sinse this is my "tool at work".

I just bought this new phone 14days ago. I got my number transferred from a prepaid to a new simcard. Everything was good until they actually ported my number to the new simcard. After that i have NO internet at all.
I have a 3G icon and can call/sms but as i try open the browser it says. The page cannot be find. Also when i turn my phone off and on it says after i dialed my pincode: Error cant apply settings to modem.
My provider is T-mobile here from the netherlands, they had some interference at the beginning at the week, but i spoke with them today and they can see everything should work. I tried to make a new APN with the guidance from T-mobile but it dosent help. Also rebooted it 4 times from fabric settings, still nothing.
Can say that i havent done anything with the phone, its not hacked/rooted or whatever. Basically in same shape as when i bought it.
I read another tread that also descripes the problem i have but these phones are rooted, and didnt really get any solution out of it.

Maybe also nessasary to mention i DID put my SIM in another device. Still same outcome. NO internet still
Well if you haven't got data on the other phone either then I am pretty sure its a sim/provider issue and has got nothing to do with your phone at all

Yea you would think that, they told me in the store today that was not the case. Funny thing is i tryed to switch it again into another devince, and still nothing. However, as I went into the store i got a new simcard that didnt fix the prob. Suspecting some internal flaw?
Anyway, gonna call LG and use my vip change possibility so we'll see if its the device itself or not.
T-mobile offcourse claims that its a software prob, as this often happens on first batch phones

phone was sim free from phones 4 u, if i take it back will they swap it for a new one or make me wait until its checked..

That's weird, my mobile data also stopped working around the time the OP posted
I am not joking either, I haven't been able to get it working again - I just figured the custom rom I put on recently had screwed up and I'm currently in the middle of getting all the files ready to put eXistenZ ROM on instead - happened to see this while looking for a 253 ftf for the kernel.
Probably a coincidence but still weird.

UPDATE: Just found out there's a major outage of 3 UK's mobile internet! No wonder my mate couldn't connect...

He's on 3 (UK). Swears blind it was connecting and working yesterday - this morning, nothing. His phone signal is fine, just not mobile internet.
Checked his APN settings, his mobile Data is "ON", the phone knows it's connected to 3, it says he's picking up HSPDA, but nothing will connect. It won;t even connect to re-install his internet settings through the "Xperia" menu in settings.
He says it did update to the .253 firmware on Sunday night.
What networks you guys in the UK having probs with?
(I'm only bothered cos I;ve got the exact same phone coming today on the same network )

Yes indeed threes data network is experiencing national problems there is a fault on the network ironically some lucky people are still connected wish I knew this this morning after I finished the night shift ended up factory resetting my phone!
Three here too, no data from around 7-11am
I had this and even restored a backup in case it was me. To no avail of course. But my data has come back now.

bloody three I had ruled t hem out as my wife's phone was working fine and there website want updated last night. the wife had a normal size SIM do I couldn't try it out but my spare micro sum didn't work either.
I should h dave checked my wife's this morning...
I ended up getting a brand new Xperia z in exchange for my old one. not happy as off next time something goes wrong with it they'll send it for repair.
well I've finally got everything setup the way I like now I just need to put the screen protectors on, this part I hate..
