I turn off the WiFi when I am not using it.
Try the power button located on the right side of your tilt.

Pretty sure this should be in the Software section, not ROM.
I ordered the Sprint Diamond today online and should have it by Tuesday. I'm a long-time Blackberry user, so I've never used Windows Mobile and have some questions on setting it up. Go easy on me, because I'm not an IT guy or anything. I'm sorry if these questions are listed on other threads, but maybe this will also help some others that are getting the Sprint Diamond and need help setting it up.
1) I want to be able to use most of the apps in landscape mode. I understand there is a download here that allows that. Is it a program or a cooked ROM? Will it work on the Sprint version? If so, is it easy to do and how do I do it?
2) Likewise, I want to set it up so it doesn't answer in my pocket. There have been threads on fixes for this on this site, but my head is spinning from trying to figure it all out. Did everybody come to a consensus on which fix is best? I think one used the acceloratometer and one disabled everything but the hard send and answer keys. And most importantly..will it work on the Sprint version?
3) I also hear that there is a problem with the touch screen remaining active during a call, and that your cheek can unwittingly press buttons on the touch screen. What do I do about this problem?
4) At the moment, I am not using an Exchange server. Short of setting up a hosted exchange solution, is there a way to get push email (maybe a solution like Blackberry Connect software and Sprint's BIS server)? I saw something about the GSM version including Blackberry Connect software, but I haven't seen anything on the Sprint website about it.
What other apps should I install to pimp my Diamond?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone have any answers to the question above?
Thanks
JPJP
1... GSEN or Advance Config and there is an option that will let you map the call button to where it can change the axis of the screen.
2.. Haven't had an issue with this thusfar
3.. Nope never had this issue in fact I'm looking for a way to keep the back light on as it always locks within a minute.
4...Pretty sure push mail works on this and have read people hacking and getting blackberry connect working on the diamond.
At home or anywhere else, my keyboard works fine. However, when i text in school, the keys dont always work when i press them. Does anyone know why?
Im running wm 6.1 with garmins dk final rom. Any help is appreciated
What device? Tilt? if so you need the tilt keyboard fix program
it is for the tilt and i have already installed that. It works fine at home. its just when i dont have great service it starts acting up.

Has it always done this, or have you recently done something that started this
its been doin it since i flashed to garmins final. i guess that must be the problem.
doubt it..cause im running Garmins final release, DK.4.1, and have yet to experience this, nor have i seen it in the rom thread that ive been monitoring.
sounds like its a quirk in ur device
u ran the tilt keyboard fix..so possibly a hard reset will fix the issue?
Or maybe your schools is emiting disturbing signal that is damaging yor tilt. So u cant type and u have to concentrate on learning.

Had the same explanation .
However, I really can't imagine how the device keyboard could work in place A and not in place B...
I can - imagine the radio ROM and processes are being sidetracked into trying to make a connection to a network in a patchy location, and this is sufficient to cause glitches in the operation of the keyboard's driver software.
To check the hypothesis, go somewhere else where it's equally as dodgy and see what happens (although places with proper glitchy reception are often hard to find).
Also, could you be tapping more quietly and mis-hitting (too soft etc) in class?
Cheers,
Joe
i assure you im pressing the keys the same or harder than outside of school. i get so frustrated when texting so i press harder.
Then try my "poor signal interferes with PDA operation" hypothesis out.

Okay, long story short(ened).
I've been using xda-dev for a long time, but this is my first time actually posting. I used to have a T-mo Wing, realized just how many ways in which it lacked power-wise, and decided to upgrade to a Kaiser (specifically, an AT&T Tilt).
I used the Tilt with its original ROM for a really long time, and I was about to sell it on eBay to buy a G1 (which I may still do, we'll see) when I decided to try out flashing it with a new ROM.
I weeded through the various ROMs that you guys have cooked up, and I decided I liked Sakajati's Hyperdragon III Opal the best.
Took me a while to get it to work (biggest issue was that I had to switch to my wife's computer with XP, since my PC runs Vista), but now that I've got it running, I love it. I had my Kaiser running all sorts of fun apps before (man, some of you guys make some seriously awesome stuff!), but I could never get TouchFlo to work, so this ROM makes me very pleased. Manila is awesome, too. =)
Anyhow, to the point.
The Tilt has a different keyboard setup than the standard Kaiser. As a result, when I'm typing, I go to hit & and = shows up instead. # turns up with *, " yields &, etc. I can deal with this, but it's pretty annoying.
I don't know, maybe this was addressed in the Hyperdragon III thread, but I tried finding it to no avail. Since this isn't quite a Hyperdragon III issue so much as just needing to rework my keys, I don't think this belongs in that thread anyhow.
But, question is - do you guys happen to have any solutions? Maybe a program that lets me reprogram each of my keys to my own preference, maybe a .CAB that automatically reprograms my keys to the appropriate format. I don't care. I just want a solution.
Anybody?

Do a search on xda for tilt keyboard fix.
jeannette
this file will make the changes you need
Thanks guys. I appreciate the help.
RTFM!! haha just kidding. I'm not trying to be one of those guys.
Since you are new to the tilt, I'd recommend you read this thread though. There are lots of good links and tutorials in there.
Hey Guys,
I've just reflashed my phone today. Before I did this, any application that needed a connection could connect without any issue. Now, only certain ones can initiate the connection. This is probably a simple fix, but for the life of me I can't remember what I did to fix it the last time. I've searched here and the Wiki but no luck finding the answer again. I've used Advanced Config and Kaiser Tweak, thinking the setting might be in one of those but it isn't.
Can someone help me with this? I think it might have been a registry tweak.
Thanks!
Matt
