Anyway to uninstall .NET 2.0 from official ROM? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

As the header say, is there anyone that know is there anyway to uninstall the .NET 2.0 from phone if I'm using the official HTC ROM as I wanted to install only .NET 3.5 into the phone and remove the older version. Thanks...
As much as I have read, it's not possible

just instal the 3.5 and the old one will be overwrited

apparently reading further into that thread u mention will show you this link
http://blogs.msdn.com/andrewarnottm...ultiple-versions-of-netcf-on-your-device.aspx
the registry entry under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETCompactFramework does nothing more than just show you where each version of the .NET is install in(ROM or RAM) that's all... doesn't help in this case then....
Found the file netcfcfg mention....will use that file...thanks

Gosh, don't just read the first/last few posts...
It's only going to affect those that use the .NET CF with no preset defaults. But those that come with a preffered default should do so for a reason right?

Opera

Hi,
For some reason I seem to have got two different builds of Opera installed on my Pro.
I can remove one by Remove Programs but not the other as it came on the device by default.
How can I get both versions removed and can someone proviode the link to the latest build and version of Opera Mobile?
And does Opera Mobile support Opera Link?
Thanks
Regards,
Neil
Please can someone help me with this?
you cant uninstall the default opera that came with the device (becasue it is in rom) you can overwrite with latest version though
use search to find latest builds...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2973544&postcount=36
or vga cab (acardinale) with flash:
http://rapidshare.com/files/168720071/Opera95_2808_vga_FL.rar
I have found a file which seems like I can use to overwrite the current files but my pro won;t let me overwrite them. Opera is closed but it still won;t let me.
Any ideas?

Not strictly true, generally the ROMs ive seen have the Opera built in as a cab...so yes you CAN uninstall it....wether or not it puts an entry into remove programs is another matter.

you may have closed it, but there is likely to be processes running in the background which youll need to end
thats true, if you can install it, you can delete it, but if it comes in the rom already installed, you cannot remove it
How do I close those background processes then?
you can use something like sktools
or maybe try installing straight after a softreset

I just posted this at ppcgeeks. Maybe it can help you.
I like the stock Opera on my Sprint TP a lot. It's build 2316. Wanting the latest and greatest, I tried to install 2745 without success (no CAB, it was exe). I then went to the Opera web site and tried to install their "stable" beta - something like 9.51b (build 2723). Installed ok but did not replace anything on my TP. So back to last known CAB that I know of - 2649. Looks great but half the time I hit a link in text (like an e-mail) it runs and starts a download of a page but never finishes nor displays the page.
Any advise greatly appreciated,
tsp

and what do mean by "what rom"??
thanks
nevermind, i just had to restart the phone, thank you anyways.
Watch out for Advanced Config. Some (like me) have found that it screws up basic function like being able to answer a damn call. There's a thread about this on PPCGeeks somewhere.

once you download the cab just save it on your sd card. then open it with total commander or your file explorer from your phone. once you find it just click on it and it should start installing. then soft reset

I clicked on the 000TP2.000 file and WM said can not open. It ask me to open application first and then open the file later.
The other files is an xml file and it open with Opera but nothing happen after that.
Try to reset but problem did not fix either.
Don't extract it move the .cab to phone and run it.
That works for me.
Thank you. I appreciate your comment.
BTW, how can I get the Touch FLo view?? I am using Titanium rom
No offense, but you need to READ the instructions! NRG clearly states in the first post of his ROMs
Here are the different versions that I currently make and what their descriptions mean.
* "Standard" includes the new TF3D2 (Rhodium Manila) along with the standard Windows Mobile 6.5 today plugin called Titanium
* "Titanium" only includes the Titanium today plugin, which is the default Windows Mobile 6.5 homescreen interface. No Manila (TF3D) in this version.

You need to reflash your Touch Pro 2 to the Standard Version.
Please take some time to read and in future, post in the relevant thread.

Sure, man.
ROM: Energy 28244 2/12 Dink
Font: sunglobe
IME:
ngn4's EZInput (basically the HTC IME)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=622054
The above setup is what I use now. If you have a Tilt2, you will need to use Tarkim's keyboard controller to remap the hard keyboard back to its stock setting after installing EZInput. Otherwise, you should be set.
I have also tried qq and sogou (formerly plumsip). Both work okay, but for qq, I couldn't figure out how to turn off Chinese; and I don't use sogou because it did not do traditional (or I couldn't figure out how).
Do a google search for the cabs above. You should be able to find them. If you can't find them, you can pm me.
Thank you once again

Go to this link, go to post #26, and follow the instructions. I am not sure if you need both the Tilt2HWkeyboard cab and this keyboardconfig file, but I install both of them anyway (no harm in using both).

I've installed an official ROM from SE Asia before, and it seemed to work just fine. Same is probably true for an HK version (where did you find one.. I couldn't find one). However, I don't know what TMO's keyboard looks like since I have a Tilt 2. If it is different than the unlocked version, then you will need to find a way to map it back to stock (I'm sure there's a cab floating out there for that).

Thank you everybody for your great info... I tried the above recomendations and works great on my TP2. One issue is the memory on my device seems to run from initial 53mb down to around 20mb after awhile, anyway to prevent that from happening???
That would be an issue with the rom you chose to flash, I would suggest using one that isnt full of bloatware and adding only what you need....The cab mentioned in the link above is for those who dont have a rom compatable or made for the Tilt 2....There are a few that were made specifically for the Tilt2 and no outside cabs for hardware are needed....Chinese language would be your only obstacle to overcome....
Regards,
WC

You're welcome, dude. I can only take credit for pointing you the right direction. The real hero is the guy who made the cabs available for everyone.
As for RAM, the Chinese input does use up a little extra ram at initial boot, but definitely not 23 MB. At 53MB startup, it sounds like you're using one of Energy's Cookie Roms w/ the stalk start menu. Memory usage has been discussed to death in that thread. Do a search for memory or RAM, and you'll probably find several ways to save RAM. So far, the one that yields the highest results seems to be to replace the start menu. Also, consider using cleanRAM (you can probably find here in xda or in OpnMarket)

That's strange. What ROM are you using? I didn't have any trouble installing it on an Energy ROM (or any other ROM). Is this the cleanRAM you were trying to install?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=514333
Some other ram cleaners include Ram Sweeper and Memmaid. I didn't use them much, so I can really only vouch for cleanRAM.
