I apologize if this has been asked, but in Tomtom 6.03 under Plus Services there is a download other icon and when pressed it gives you a GPS Fix icon and a download voices icons. The GPS Fix icon is transparent with a correct mark sign on it but you cannot access it.
Does that mean that the GPSFix feature is installed on the Trinity and if yes, how come it takes a ges to lock a signal if it is getting the positions from the net?

I don't think that quickgpsfix thingy is on our trinity, or the GPS chip can actually use it.
There is a external program out there (I think from HP), but did not make any difference when I tried it...
Wondering if they are related in anyway. Reason i ask is the Active Sync programs keeps launching itself when i run Mapking. It does not pop up and disturb my Mapking program but it's always running in the background. Anybody else facing this problem? Anyway to stop Active Sync being so active?

yes, i've been getting the actice sync popups too, (while on MapKing or Garmin) but some people told me not to blame MapKing or Garmin..
And i thought that my data activity shotup too while ActiveSync was launched (was using SPB GPRS Monitor to monitor data traffic)
but now that you've mentioned, could we get to the bottom of this?
Well....it's good to know that i'm not the only one having this problem Anybody else or anybody with a solution to this?
I have'nt had the problem, when mapking was installed, but now I cannot test it out, I have no use for gps.

Nup...no chinese version but it comes with CE Star...not sure if that helps

I know this has nothing to do with the thread.
if i'm guess correctly, you have the hong kong english version, do me a favor can you try these two site and see if you get a full version or a simplified version, if you need to know the differences, you can compare it with a desktop PC.

Well i havn't used windows mobile in about 2 years, and back then it was all about trying to find QVGA compatible apps.
Since i'll be getting my diamond next week, along with a load of other people i'm sure, can anyone recommend some good/must have apps? I'm only interested in VGA apps, not upscaled stuff - unless you reallly think its worth it.
I think if we can build up a list it would help alot of people. If there's alot of repies i'll just keep updating this first post.
EDIT: Also can someone tell me whats the best GPS software? TomTom? iGo? Co-Pilot? And do any of them handle speed cameras and/of traffic?

I agree, I am expecting my TD next week also and think this would be a good idea. I have been using Windows mobile for a couple years after being a palm user for 5. I currently have an Orbit 2. I also use Tom Tom which i really like. It really runs good on my Orbit 2, a lot smoother than on Palm versions.
realvga is the best application you can have on a vga screen. granted, it makes more incompatibilities, but it basically makes your screen 4 times bigger in total [2x wider and length]
apart from that, id say teksoftco's fingertouch keyboard which is great, although the diamond one looks great too.
apart from that, id say most stuff i use is multi resolution

i have igo8 working on my diamond perfect, theres a few threads here about getting it to work and i believe there is a diamond specific version out there now. its much better than TomTom which lagged and took ages to catch up with where you acctually are! igo8 has so many more useful features too!

iGo IS very compatible with the Diamond and it looks absolutely amazing on the VGA screen. There are a few threads about this in the Diamond section of XDA including one that has very detailed instructions on setting up and tweaking the application. Search for it and you will find just about everything you need there
Almost all QVGA apps adjust themselves to the VGA resoution so you almost never have a problem. Maybe old games could be problematic but it's rare. So you don't have to go around looking for VGA apps.

I have SHAZAM musicID in VGA
I'm not sure if it will work for you "sprinters", as I have at&t musicID but the same company <SHAZAM> makes the music ID for all carriers. Mabye it would work. Would you like me to try to export the CAB?

I just got my TD2 for less than 1 week and i keep having the following problem.
The bottom command bar change colour from orginal black to white as shown in the attached pic.
I do not know wat happen...
I had tried hard reset, the problem is solved.
But after 2 days, the white command bar comes back...
i do not know how to do now....
Is there anyone out there facing the same problem???

have you tried resetting the theme?
Settings -> All Settings -> Personal Tab -> Today Icon -> Appearance Tab Select Windows Default -> Ok

Do the same again this time select "Htc black"

hard reset will solve the problem. I installed a theme for TD 1 on my TD 2 and the display got very very weird. Hard reset did the trick ...
Try update the rom, you can find in htc web site...

after i remove MapKing, i dun have this problem anymore...
I think it could be due to MapKing, do u have Mapking as well???

Yupz...I remembered posting about this sometime back.
I guess you were using Mapking R12...
It puts into your START PROGRAMS option a program which allows SMS to be sent of your GPS location. Removing that program and softreset would clean the bug out.
There's an apparent conflict.

Its something with SMS in its name. It'll appear when you install MapKing R12.

The display from a TD1 is different from a TD2 !!!!!
TD1 is VGA TD2 is WVGA so themes are not interchangable.
yeah mapking is the culprit but u dont have to soft reset and yet u still can use mapking
just delete the mapking entry in the windows startup folder and soft reset..thats all =)
didn't matter. The problem was that TD 2 is 400x800 and TD 1 is smaller. No problems with VGA/WVGA. The theme worked, but worked as if the display was that of a TD 1 (the fact is hat I got a link from a TD2 thread to a TD1 and didn't notice. So I installed it without questioning ...)

What do you mean by TomTom 7 rom tom codon?
Small icons? don't you use TF3D?
On the standard stock todayscreen of WinMo 6.1 the icons are small.
If you use TF3D the icon in the startmenu wil be bigger.
But you ask for help with installing TomTom and you allready have desktop icons?
You will only get desktop aka todayscreen icons if you install TomTom.
Since TomTom doesn't (yet) support widescreen WVGA i would sugest Nav 'n go iGO8.
Somewhere on the forum you will find how to make it work fullscreen @ 800*480 pixels.
If you need any further help please discribe what kind of help you need with what.
