Hi, got a really frustrating problem, could do with some serious help.
When I first got my Diamond, my TomTom (V7) was working perfectly.
Since upgrading the rom and radio however, it hasn't worked since.
The latest Rom I have is Swift v 6
And the latest Radio is Dutty's 1.0.25.7
I've made sure I haven't touched AGPS
I've made sure I have downloaded quickgps.
TomTom doesn't even recognise that there is an internal gps device! I have to go into tomtom GPS and configure it to use other nema GPS device, baud 4800 com 1. It then recognises the gps, but doesn't even get even the tiniest signal.
PLEASE HELP! I need my satnav this week.
Thanks
Hi,
Did you Hard Reset after the ROM upgrade?

Hi, may be it can help, I have read that gps is not working properly with some radio version, you should try radio .05 instead.
Ensure TomTom is set on built in receiver, then do a soft reset. Go Settings > System > External GPS and ensure GPS program port is set to COM4. Then on the Hardware tab, ensure GPS hardware port is set to 'none', and baud is set to 4800. On the Access tab, ensure the 'Manage GPS automatically' box is ticked.
You say Quick GPS is up to date, which is fine, so when you've done all this, do another soft reset. Now, if possible, rather than jumping into TomTom, use another GPS App like Google maps (if you don't have it already, there's plenty of ways to get it, and it's free). In Google maps, go Menu > Options > GPS Settings... and ensure it's set to 'Set by Windows'. Once set, exit and restart the app, then go Menu > Use GPS. It's worth doing this to prove your GPS receiver outside TomTom. Hopefully, you'll be up and running with this, and you can then go to test TomTom, which should now be working.
If after all this you're still struggling, then a hard reset, and a TT re-install might be on the cards.
Hi
I have used TTom with radios 05to08 with no problems at all.
When you checked the TTom GPS configuration and set the port, does the little sign top-right of the TTom GPS Status screen rotate? It is just below the time display.
If rotating, then put your phone out in the open and have a cup of coffee while the GPS sorts itself out! If NOT rotating, then try another port.
hello excuse for my poor english (i'm french).
1 - Soft reset your PPC
2 - Find the file “xtra.bin” (dans \windows et \temp)
3 - Delete the file “xtra.bin”
4 - Reboot your PPC
5 - Prove that there is no more validity of GPSRapide.
(don't download the update)
6 - Try with TT7 now to pick up satellites
7 - If TT7 still does not work put has GPSRapide day by downloading the updating.
PS: Or try in manuel settings, Bauds 57 600 / COM : 4
You can try to launch Google Maps and activate the GPS signal then wait 1 or 2 minutes for the fix.
And then try with TOMTOM, i think with the two solution it's will work fine for you
Thanks for your help guys but I've still got the same problem.
TomTom does recognise the internal gps now (so don't need to set it to NMEA) but still doesn't pick up even the slightest of signals. It's definitely trying to get a signal as the round yellow and blue icon is rotating.
I've done soft and hard resets and left it outside for over an hour but it doesn't get anything...
Google maps works fine however and always has done so it's just tomtom.
Are there any other satnav programs I can try for the Diamond that give you turn by turn like TomTom or is TomTom pretty much the best out there?
It finally worked! Well for 3 minutes. I left it in the car plugged in and tomtom suddenly kicked in and worked, then all of a sudden it went off and has not found the satelite since...
Oh well!
the best results I got was using the external nema, com4 baud 57600
GPS Test
I've found that if I run GPS Test prior to TT it will pick up satellites a lot quicker....excellent programme and free

OK well while waiting for someone on here to help me with my activesync problem, ive figured out that the culprit is the kaspersky A/V and firewall. I totally uninstalled them both and activesync worked fine. But i want to use kaspersky so does ne one have true expierence with these products and can tell me how to go bout settin it up before i put a bullet in my pc and pocket pc!
There's a fix on the Kaspersky website:
http://www.kaspersky.com/faq?qid=180455931
i figured out the problems for my bluescreens was Kaspersky too. My friend had the same problem with GDATA Anti-Virus-Kit, which uses the Kaspersky Engine too. Now im using Bitdefender, but i will try the registry fix. Theres no better AV than Kaspersky.
Crazy: I only had bluescreens with my MDA Vario (Wizard). I have an iPAQ hx2110 with WM5 and no problems...
I finally found the cure. someone from kaspersky's lab forum told me to try the newest version os A/v and a beta version of A/H and it worked fine. no more crashes no problems no nothing.....yet. the A/V version is http://www.kaspersky.com/productupdates?chapter=146244099 and the beta version of A/H is http://d5y.kaspersky-labs.com/beta/kah/english/setup.exe, hope this helps ne one with the same peoblems i had[/url]
Heya, I have done the registry Tweak and GPS are visible I have setup Com Port 9 but tomtom will not work. I get Waiting for a vaild gps signal for ages then it goes to cannot find GPS Device.
My SPV M700 Information:

ROM Date: 01/25/07

I would perfer not to have to flash it but if i do need to could someone please post a guide.

Nick
try to configure gps in tomtom, like NMEA baudrate 9600 com port 9
Doesn't let me choose port 9, only
com3
GPS in com9
com7etc.
I choose com9 but any signal of gps.
Regards,
MM.
Ok.
Done.
Problem only with the signal that was to weak.
Great.
To Nick and mmelo
Did you only do the registry tweak to get GPS icon enabled and it started working???? or did you also flashed your ROM ? Because as far as I know, you do need to flash your ROM to get GPS working and the registry tweak is only to get the GPS icon. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I haven't flashed my ROM as waiting for genuine HTC ROM, but if only enableing GPS icon can get gps working then I might try that cause nt really want to flash with Dopod Rom.
Thanks.
I got it three days ago...
For Orange SPV M700, it doesn't need to do anything to have GPS, just install tomtom 6, and choose com9 GPS~~
So Orange SPV M700 (UK VERSION) has gps enabled ??? Ofcourse it would be better than the french version. Is this UK's gps enabled Orange ROM available anywhere? My HTC P3600 is unlocked and unbranded UK edition bought online.
Or any news of HTC ROM upgrade?
Thanks.
Working
Heya, I've got my GPS working it was just a matter of low signal.
These are the Settings i used:
1. Tweaked Reg to display GPS Icon.
GPS Program Port: COM1
GPS Hardware Port: COM9
Baud Rate: 4880
Manage GPS Automatically (Ticked)
Tomtom set to COM Port 9
Note that it can around about 15mins to recieve a GPS Signal and tomtom does try to say there is "no device found" while finding a singal but this is wrong. It is still trying to find a vaild singal it just takes awhile, but after setup once it connects quicker there after.
Thanks
Nick.123
But why does it take up to 15 min to get a valid signal?
It could take about 20 sec.. :\
I have mine set to:
Program port: GPD1
Hardwareport: COM9, 115200 Baud
Manage GPS automatially
Also in tomtom nav i got GPS setting of: NMEA GPS with 115200 baud.
And its connected to COM9 (not GPD1 as one could think, its not even an option). In the latest tomtom 6.030 custom for htc 3600 among others its possible to choose internal GPS device too.. i think i got that working if my mememory serves me right. But i downgraded coz I had some map-problems
I use RUU_Trinity_HTC_WWE_1.23.800.2_6275_1.35.00.11_Ship as ROM. Before I tried the dopod verision, i got it working there too.
Sometime I get the signal after 1-2 minutes, sometime I need an hour for it to lock on some sats , not really reliable, I hope the oficcial ROM remedies that. A friend of mine has a bluetooth GPS for his trinity. It takes him between 2-10 minutes to lock on to sats even with that.
A tip for those with tomtom's that lock up and freeze sometimes.
Press the PHONE button to get your dialing screen, from there use the startbutton to start tomtom again (it doesnt reload the program it just hands back the control to the current running tomtom), then you can use it again. It doesn't always work though, sometimes it's necessary to reset the phone.
Sorry people, I'm an absolute moron when it comes to programming etc - so none of this is English to me.
I've recently got the M700 and am aware of the GPS being encrypted. Also, being an Orange member of staff, you would think that I'd get some kind of help from our "technical team" when it comes to unlocking the damn thing - but alas, they "cannot do it".
So, here I am, asking for a little help in getting the GPS activated...Pleeeeease
Hi, i have flashed may HTC P3600 with TRIN_RADIO_1.38.00.11_Only_SSPL but it does not want any to know to go!
Mine puts into effect them situation is:
ROM : 1.15.408.2
Radio ROM 1.38.00.11
Version extrom 1.15.408.101
Versione Protocollo: 32.71.7020.12H
TOM TOM 6.030.
I have tried all but I just do not succeed to make to go it. While com the 9 do not appear to me just in tom tom, and then I asked myself if before the gps it had to be found from the bluetoth. I have tried also with gps tuner but it says to me gps not found.
I ASK AID!! PLEASE HELP ME.
Hello, I have done the following thing and everything without problems has worked me:
1º) Is necessary to install some of the ROM that has the activated GPS. In my case: RUU_Trinity_HTC_WWE_1 [1] .23.800.2_6275_ 1.35.00.11 _Shi p.exe.
2º) Later, I have updated the Radio with TRIN_RADIO_ 1.38.00.11 _Only_SSPL (this step is not essential).
3º) After it, I have installed drivers of the GPS for ROM Lvsw (HTC_GPSdriver.cab).
4º) I am modifying key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ ControlPanel \ GPS Settings to activate the icon of the GPS, so that it appears in Settings / connections, in that I have put: GPS prog port: GPD1; GPS hardware port: COM9; Baud rate: 115200.
5º) I have installed the TomTom, version 6.030.8320, and in the Gps configuration: GPS type: Other nmea GPS; Baud rate: 115200; GPS in COM9.
The first time has taken about 4 minutes in taking satétiletes.
Second and the later ones, in about 15 seconds…
I hope that this helps somebody… GREETINGS (excuses by my English incorrect one, but the fault has the translator of google... )
hello, I take or but of two weeks with the ROM of Lvsw with the activated GPS, to people it gave problems him of blockades with tomtom, I haven´t this problem , but this weekend I have made a long trip and I have realized of which tomtom is hung when 3G or UMTS is no signal, that is to say, that the GPS lets work when there is no signal of 3G, I have proven it xq I have put I telephone in GSM and the GPS is not connected, but i have active 3G in telephone, the GPS activates at the moment in he himself place where without 3G not it connected, and for that reason tomtom is blocked when losing the signal of 3G becomes crazy and it is blocked, I hope that somebody knows like using the GPS without the signal 3G
is tomtom navigator 5 working, too?
here in germany they sell tomtom6 in the vodafone shops as a special VPA compact GPS-version. But did anyone try tomtom 5 yet?? Just asking, 'cause I need maps including germany and poland - but the new western europe coming with TT6 don't cover PL. The TT5 version is still available with DACH PL CZ-maps... So please tell me if someone successfully runs TTN5 !!

M700 & Tom Tom Freezing
I have been trying to work out why my M700 freezes when using Tom Tom Navigator 6 with maps of Western Europe.
Turns out it is the speed camera's POI from other countries that causes it.
So remove all the speed camera POI and it works fine. (Not sure which "Speed Cam. POI country " is the calprut, but left only UK on and this works.)

GPS is already active on the Orange M700, for some reason your Marketing Department hasnt bothered pushing this as a feature at all, but hey-ho.
To get it working get tom tom 6.03 OR search for GPSUtil125Setup.exe this will show you your GPS and get it talking. Otherwise arent sure what GPS being encrypted has to do with anything
BTW slap your IT support department cos last timeI phoned them I had to teach them about the phone

Hi all,
There are several threads talking of this problem: as soon as you install VoIP on the diamond, the GPS cannot be accessed, whatever the application you use (TomTom, GoogleMap, HTC GPS Tool ...).
It seems that for now, the only way to get back GPS is to hard reset the device.
There must be a way to know what files or settings are overridden by VoIP so as to get them back to the correct version.
If someone has another solution than Hard Reset, please post it here.
For reference, here are the threads dealing with this problem:

This issue is with the WM implementation of VoIP. I have had that same problem too. I was hoping to use it because it is transparently integrated into the dialer (you can switch GSM and VoIP dialing on the fly). This problem doesn't affect Fring ,Skype or SJphone etc. because they implement VoIP independantly from windows - they use their own signalting stack and probably codec implementation.
I used WM6 VoIP on the cruise and it worked *sort of* ok - echo sometimes, and often pretty bad delay - more than 300ms, even when network conditions would allow for a much better performance.
Still, Anyone out there knows if the WM6.1 VoIP implementation was fixed for the Diamond yet?
What about fring ? is it slow on the diamond ??? is there any problems about delay or else ?
Regards
Tony

I installed and tested it with my 3mbit wireless connection with no problem. The sound was not as clear as if you use GSM, but hey, you can call for free!
Try this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-344429.html
I tried to delete the following files:
ipdialplan.xml, dnsapi.dll, voipphonecanvas.dll, rtcdll.dll.
I could not delete the third one. Then after a power cycle, I got back the GPS. This was done on 1.34.
i cannot confirm the gps "lost" problem.
GPS is still working after installation of the VOIP package.
Only the sound level of SIP calls is really low.... (and i am locking for a solution)

Which VoIP package did you use? You're about the only one for who it does work fully properly. If you could supply us with the ROM you've used, including the Radio ROM, that'd be great

i used this package: destr0_VOIP_WM61___SIP_Config_1.1.CAB (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2326934&postcount=50)
on one diamond applied step by step (without the cab install) and on a second diamond with the cab install. On both GPS is still functional and running.
ROM and Radio is german stock O2.
the low volume problem: ivestigations shows that the rear speaker (which is on top on the diamond) is used for the output. So this "sounds" like low volume on the internal speaker (since both speakers are close to each other).

Weird, that's the one most of us use. It's probably to do with your specific ROM and Radio. I hope one of the dev's who know infinitely more than me on this could shed some light / use this info to make it work for the rest of us
For us, though, the internal speaker is used! This might also have to do with the ROM differinces. Very weird.
Hi,
same here on my 1.37.0 german ROM. But I used jasjaming "VOIP drivers.cab" from http://wmblack.info/addons/enchantments.rar and those can be uninstalled. So installing them, VOIP up and running, just need to tell it in the settings->phone->internet tab to use VOIP (everytime I reinstall the drivers).
But GPS goes dead. If I unstall the drivers via Remove program the VOIP will not connect anymore, but GPS is up and running again.
Did anyone try it with ROM 1.93?
Thanks,
Seven
I use googlemaps and the new Skype for 6.1. Before that I used Fring.
Reporting NO problems here SIR!!!
To solve the problem just rename file /windows/dnsapi.dll to for example dnsapi.dll_bck and make soft reset or turn off and on your device.
There will be created a new file with the same name and you can delete the old renamed one. Then the GPS working properly as well as VoIP. Good luck...
file not created after soft reset
I renamed this file but it isn't created again after a soft reset. On the other and everything seems to work properly (exept SIP for the moment, but it wasn't before I deleted the file!).
Does anybody know how I could re-create it or where I can find it ?
(btw it's a Touch HD)
thanks !
I've got the same problem, renaming let everything working... except voip...
...damn...

I want to give information that will for sure has a lot of us (three days of hell that I enjoy doing.
It concerns the version of the GPS VoIP plant, unfortunately got my HD1 and have only found it with Tomtom GPS, here is the solution that finds the GPS without Hard Reset:
1) uninstall the programs in the order listed:
SipConfigTool Voip.cab and then WM6VoIP.CAB then Total Commander (included but I think that that is a must) do a soft reset after WM6Voip Voip and for other leave them in place.
I had installed in parallel which requires Advanced_Configuration FrameWok3.5 I also uninstalled but before the manipulations above.
Eureka operates again it detects my Tomtom GPS again
Here
For those who always want the SIP I gave the correct version of WM6VoIP, the GPS function is continuous, yet again the install complete but I am hopeful.

Yes... Updated yesterday in Luxemburg through Kies.
GT-I9000HKAPRO to I9000XWJPA/I9000XXJPP/I9000XWJPA

Flash 10.1 and Youtube installed and work.
GPS now locks < S/N 20. (Orange bars in GPS test)
Hi everyone!
I could update to froyo this morning in Belgium.
Had to update Kies first in order to make the firmware upgrade show up.
Everything worked fine, data is not erased, you just have to reconfigure the home screens. I recommend a complete Phone memory backup nevertheless, since you never know. My Galaxy took 5 mins to finally reboot after the upgrade, so don't worrs if it takes some time, it will finally run smooth
Nevertheless, I use a Phone bought in Luxembourg with no branding and for full retail price, a part fro the Hello Proximus app which to my displeasure was still installed after the update, although i am and have never been a client of Proximus.
My network is BASE in Belgium and TANGO in Luxembourg.
Btw (out of subject but nevertheless), does anyone know how to get rid of that Hello Proximus app or at least how to close it after it's been launched? This app runs in Background even after a restart of the phone and i want to make it stop and dissapear. Any tips?
Hi,
Most phones sold in Luxemburg are from Belgium and are branded i.e Base or Proximus.
You can get rid of the *Hello" application by moving it to trash and immediately thereafter stop the service. You may have to try several times, but it works.
After a reboot however it is back again.
After the update my new email application is very slow and laggy, so I may have to do a factory reset and reinstall all aps. from backup.
The GPS is still a problem sometimes, but at least it now locks on satellites with S/N below 20 (Orange bars)

Btw (out of subject but nevertheless), does anyone know how to get rid of that Hello Proximus app or at least how to close it after it's been launched? This app runs in Background even after a restart of the phone and i want to make it stop and dissapear. Any tips?

I'm told you can remove it using Titanium Backup if your phone is rooted, but I got rid of mine because I used an older version of Kies to install Froyo from another region
Well that's a shame because I thought that when I pay the full price for a phone I'll at least get an unbranded version. This is worth a complain for me, because I don't want to pay so much money to let my phone decide which apps I'm running on or loose warranty by rooting it, that's the reason from staying away from Iphones..
Sorry for getting off topic.
Froyo up and running fine. I don't have battery issues some people have after the update. I am even impressed about how much playing around with wifi, 3g, display and 3d games the battery can endure and still have days of standby time left.
For the details: Of 8 hours, i was surfing 1h on wifi, 1h on 3G, playing a 3d game for about an hour while listening to music, listened to music all alone during 3 hours, had a total of 30 mins of voice calls, the rest on standby.
Result: Battery down to 58%. I think this is even greater than before the update!
On the other hand i feel that the general performance of the phone in matters of reaction speed (especially when typing on the virtual keyboard or using the two buttons below the screen) has decreased. It's still fast and all, but more often than before you'll have to wait 1 sec or two before the phone reacts to your input. This might also be due to the fact that I have installed a lot of apps recently of which many run threads in background without the user knowing about it. This uses Ram and might decrease performance.
2 Things to check after the update:
- Wifi->advanced settings->Wifi sleep is now set the "never" by default. This will drain your battery a lot, so you better switch it back to "when display is off" again.
- Discharge your battery completely once the update completes and recharge it fully an AC (not USB) while the phone is off. Some battery problems occur because of the battery indicator being set incorrectly after the update.

Has someone an csc (cwm or odin) of Belgian Proximus (PROJM1 or PROJP2) ?
Hello all!
I have identified a delay when i receive a phone call, my watch starts vibrating some seconds after (i haven't measured, but 5 to 10 seconds). Sometimes I have even finished the call before the watch starts vibrating... Does anyone of you meet this? How could I solve it?
Thx...
I have the same problem. I would be finished with the call and 10 seconds later my watch alerts me of the call. One time my watch alerts me of the call. I answer the call and the watch kept alerting me for about 30seconds.
Sometimes it happens too but only when watch connects through wifi.
Still the same problem... Only SMS are notified on phone and watch at the same time... I feel pretty alone with this issue
I tried to use the stock faces instead of watchmaker ones, but still the same... Could the problem come from the phone itself? (G S4 mini)
solutions?

G4 with W100..
I did some tests, but no success up to now:
- With or without Nova launcher
- With or without Wear Mini launcher
- With or without "Ignore alerts and calls when connected to the phone"
I still don't know what could interfere regarding notifications. I will try to clean the watch completely without any app to see if it's better... I'll keep you informed.
No success. Watchmaker premium unistalled, Wear Mini launcher uninstalled, hard reset of the watch, complete new install, still the lag... What I don't understand is that I had no issue 6 month ago when my watch was brand new (and same phone)... Could it be the LG firmware?

Probably the issue come with the latest versions of android wear...
For me the issue was here from the first use .... Just realized later.
CA Y EST!!! J'AI ENFIN TROUVE!!!!!!!

Oups I was so happy that I wrote it in French
Here is the translation:
"I found a solution, the issue is linked to Android Wear software installed on the phone. Rev 1.3 and 1.4 are bugged and it brings delay between phone call notification and watch call notification (up to 30 seconds!)
I installed a previous revision of AW found here: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/android-wear/android-wear-1-1-1-2113877-android-apk-download/
Since this installation, my watch notifies calls within one second after the phone one. May it continue like this!!!

Its just a workaround with version 1.1 of AW i think we will lose a lot of nice features done later.
Btw thanks for the feedback.
I too get this sometimes. Phone is Sony Xperia Z3 compact running Android 6.0.1.
I had the same issue for months. Then I had to factory reset my phone (Note4). After reinstalling, restoring backup, the watch did resync and the problem was gone..
Same here. Note 3 with android 6.0.1
Seems i've found a "workaround" try to active always on display calls will be show immediately
(Sorry for my bad english)
I got my watch a month ago, and it bothers me a lot that the caller ID takes almost 10 seconds to show the name or phone number. Before I had the Sony SmartWatch 2 and had no problems with this feature. Everything works great, but this is a major flaw. Having display on, doesn't work for me. I hope that we won't have this problem with Google wear 2.
I have it paired with my Huawei p9
