Hi all,
My desktop Outlook is packed with a zillion items I'd also like to have on my TYTN II. Hoever, I don't want it to take up the precious RAM space.
Any way that I can get Outlook Mobile to operate via dirs on the SD card?
Any way I can get My Documents (+My Pics etc.) to be on the SD card?
Thanks.

I bought a 2gig memory card for my phone.. but I can't see anyway to make it store email on the memory card.
There is an option to store attachments on the memory card but not the emails themselves.
The phone has such a poxy in built memory that after installing programs and contacts etc. there is only 5-6mb left... this quickly gets clogged up to the point where in coming SMS, emails and new contacts can't be stored.
So I have a great situation of 2gig of memory, that is semi useless and an OS that doesn't seem to have been designed to integrate extra memory properly into the daily functions of the phone...
Anyone got any clues or addon softwares that might help ?
ALSO... was wondering if anyone knows a way to wipe the tmobile rom off the VARIO and install a plain one or K-Jam rom.... ?

As has also been pointed out in the Mailer Roundup, you can NOT store Messaging POP3/IMAP e-mail on storage cards, only Outlook-synced mails (the latter with hacks).
That is, use third-party mailer apps: FlexMail 2007, Qmail etc. Read the Mailer Roundup for more info.
On my tilt, i'm trying to get my outlook items to save to my storage card instead of the device storage, since the device only comes w/120ish mb, but i cant figure out how to do this? everytime i connect to active sync and it loads up my outlook items it drains my device mem, and i want to stop that by having the items use my storage card mem. any help on this? thx
edit: i'm trying to get the all emails to use the storage card, instead of the device storage.
bump, anyone able to help me w/this?
Hope this is not a stupid question?
I use my diamond for work and on my S730 i had a cab file that used my Storage Card instead of the phone to store mail. I used this cab file on the diamond but does not work. Does anyone know how to use the internal storage instead of the phone for my mail
Thanks
Brian
in the mail settings you can choose to let attachments of e-mails be stored in the internal storage. The mail itself can't be stored on the internal storage, but i don't see the point of that (because a email is about 1/2 kb most of the time.
Thanks for the reply. The reason i like to save all to the storage card is i had the whole 2gb mailbox on my 4gb card on my S730 phone. We do not currenly have exchange 2007 and i can not use the search option. As i am out alot around our 4 sites its a pain if i need an email that is not stored on my phone as on the road alot. That is why i had that cab file that changed the settings some how so it stored all emails and attachments on my old card. I am sure someone will release a hack to do the same on the Diamond
Thanks
Brian

Yes it can...the (PropertyPath) setting is just located in a different registry setting.
However, I've tried it and immediately ended up getting the common "Storage Card2 issue", a known issue with this trick.
So I've reverted back to the default setting. But you're right that just the emails aren't all that big to begin with.
I would'nt encourage you to put 2 gig of e-mails on your phone. Isn't it smarter to just get the last few days of mail via your phone and if you need a older mail you use the webinterface of your e-mail provider? (on your phone with opera ofcourse)
What is going on here exactly?
You can Import/Export phone contacts from/to the SD card (sdcard folder).
This means that the contacts are going to/coming from the internal SD card, not your external SD card, if you have one.
Where are they coming from if you export them to the SD card?
Are they coming from Internal Phone Storage?
What is exported exactly? Just the names and tel. numbers, or all of the contact info you have entered (tel. no., e-mail, pics, notes, home addresses, etc.)?
If you delete all your phone entries and then Import from the SD card, will ALL the contact info come back faithfully, or will you be missing any info?
Has anyone here ever tried this?
A few more questions. Where does the SIM enter into this picture?
Is any phone contact data stored on the SIM card?
I heard before that you can transfer contact data onto SIM cards and take them with you to other phones.
I don't see an option to transfer contacts onto the SIM card with the SGS.
I had a Blue Earth recently that allowed this.
The manual says there is a way to copy contacts to your SIM card, but it mentions selecting 'a contact', not your entire contact list.
I also can't find this feature on my phone anymore (I did once).
TIA
