On my Home screen it displays the weather and I am wondering where the setting is to have it display the temp in F instead of Celsius
I've looked everywhere and can't find it.
I would also like to install the iPhone theme. I did a search but came up with conflicting info on what to install.
Thanks
Have look for HTC Home Customizer (HHC).

I'll help you out on the weather part since I was easily confused at one point. In the screen where you select your City, the right soft key will take you to Weather Options, select Fahrenheit from that menu.

Thank you. I found it.
This phone does SO much more and has so many more things to set up then my SDA did so it's taking me some time to figure it all out. lol
I though because you didn't find it staight away it must be in the 3rd party customizer software rather than in the Config options.
Google for HTC Home Customizer and you will find it.
I really should have installed HTC Home and looked for myself before guessing

Hello everyone, i asked this question in the 'post your today screen' thread but got no answer so will try asking here:
I recently installed the htc home customiser and changed a few things around and generally had a play with it to see what i could create from my today screen. I then decided i was happy with how the original htc one looked so i changed it back. Unfortunately i have a slight problem.
Originally, under the htc home section i had tasks, appointments, tomtom, etc etc showin up and there was a scroll bar on the right hand side that allowed me to scroll down the list, all while keeping htc home in the same position at the top. Now though, i have a scroll bar that extends all the way up the right hand side of the screen whereas before it only went as far as the bottom of htc home. It now covers up part of the date and the sound settings button. When i scroll down my list of shortcuts, it now also scrolls htc home also. (i hope my description makes sense)
It is very annoying and also makes my home screen look ugly. Does anyone know how i can get it back to how it used to be?
thanks very much in advance!
You can fix this by updasting the registry directly. There may be another way, but off the top of my head, I don't know.
Check your entries under the registry item: HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Today/Items
Under there, you will see an entry for every Today plugin you have available in your Today settings window.
Select one and you see it has entries called:
- Enabled
- Flag
- Order
- Selectability
- Type
under each one.
- Enabled denotes if its checked for your Today screen (1 is on, 0 is off)
- Order denotes the sequence it is on the Today screen. The lower the number the higher on the screen, so usually, HTCHome is the lowest enabled since it at the top.
- Type denotes whether it is one that is "movable" or not.
Type is the one that you need to modify. Type can be 0 (moveable) or 5 (non-movable). Type 0 ones can be moved up and down in the Today settings screen, where as Type 5 ones cannot.
The issue is that if the Today screen content is too much to fit on the screen, it auto adds the scroll bar. BUT it will only make the part of the screen occupied by movable activated plugins scrollable.
Before you customized, it HTCHome was likely a Type 5, and it was Order 1 (or something low since its at top). And all others were Type 0. Thus the scrollable section DIDNT include the HTC Home. Somehow, your HTCHome type is now 0, so it is scrolling along with everything else.
Hope this helps. Of course, manually modifying the registry has inherent danges, so be careful, and I take no responsibility if you mess up (disclaimer ).
This might be configurable and modifiable via HTC HOME Customizer app itself, but not sure...I just know the above is how I would fix it if I needed to.
Cheers for that mate, i will have a look tomorrow and see if i can sort it out.
in the home customizer go to the "options" tab and check "Lock plugin on the today screen" ... this will solve your problem!
Today screen keeps scrolling up
I don't know if this is the right post to ask, but you guys seemed pretty knowledgeable about today screen...
What happens is that whenever I scroll down (with the scroll bar) my today screen, it keeps scrolling back up to beginning screen automatically.
Only way to avoid this is to scroll all the way to the bottom and then it stops there. Then I can scroll up to see my today plugins which are in the middle (e.g. if you can scroll 4 times down - 4 screens of plugins - and I want to see my plugins which are 1 screen down the initial today screen, I have to tap all the way down and then tap up 2 times to see the plugins I should have seen tapping just 1 time).
This is so annoying. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

This is for mbernstein:
You hijacked the thread but since the op had his issue resolved I can offer you just a little input. I had the same problem you mention. It started after I installed a few SPB programs. I'm not sure if it was the Pocket Plus, Mobile Shell, or something else but it was definately an SPB proggie. Once I uninstalled the programs the issue went away. I'm disappointed because they are good softwares.
Thanks. This should be the case. But it is a shame as Spb softs are quite good (otherwise).
Yes, I unchecked SPB today plugins and it took a long time (right one) for the screen to go "home". thanks.
Hello,
I bought Kaiser in Poland and got it with a different today screen. What do I have to install to have that black today screen that you all have with weather forecast? I have already installed HTC.Kaiser.Home.Eng.0409.5Tab.schen.cab but it didn't do anything. I don't see any new programs or new settings.
I suggest to install another ROM on your kaiser. But it's a bit tricky to do it. If you do it wrong, you'll mess up your phone.
OK, so it's not an application like Spb Mobile Shell? Installing cab files won't do anything, right?
Did you enable htc home after instaling it? Go to settings, personal, today. From there goto the "items" tab and put a check mark next to htc home.
Cheers
What is that today plugin you are using called?

I didn't know about these settings. I have two new entries: HTC Home and HTCHomeplug and when I enabled the second one I have four new icons on the today screen standing at the top left corner: battery, rotating screen, vibrations and brightness. It is not what I want but it is some success

I think Orange. When I disabled it the icons on the left disappeared.
and I don't mean with registry editting, but it actually places an extra tab somewhere in the Today options in settings and lets you sort and enable/disable tabs. which version is that?
thanks...
you can edit the order by looking in the htc home plug in the registry, you change 1,2,3,4,5,6 to a different order, or remove a number to remove a tab.
You can do it on any version of Home Plug.

i am aware of that, but I'm looking for the version that doesn't require you to edit the registry. I had it before I did a hard reset!
HTC Home Customizer
HTC Home Customizer
Allows you to change pretty much any thing within the HTC Home Screen.

oh well. it'll do i guess.
Ahh. I think you are talking about the tab in Today => Settings. Try the HTC HOME Plugin.

sweet!
do you mean the media tab ??

no, it's a tab in the Today screen customization menu in Settings.
Hello guys does anybody know a way of being able to see more than one calendar appointment, or the device lock icon, or skype icon on the Home screen of Manilla ROMs?
I tried a search but I didn't come up with anything substantial or useful enough to follow.
Thank you in advance

Take a look at the SecondToday plugin... If you use the TouchFlo2D settings tool (search the forums) you can make a softkey on the main tab that says something like "Agenda", and link it to secondtoday. Then use an application like G-Alarm and / or TodayAgenda for your today screen plugins. Inside of SecondToday you can set a softkey to "return" to TouchFlo2D by pointing it at SecondToday.exe (this kinda tricks it like the OK button)
This is what I have done, and it's very slick and solved my issues. Hopefully it helps you.
Thank you very much for the help
sorry if this is a dumb question - trying out ahome and it only has 2 screens by default, where do I set the number of screens?
I think it's on aHome settings. On the homescreen press Menu > More to get to settings. Havn't used aHome since 1.1 so it might be a little different now.
hmm... i get menu / ahome menus then loads of choices. can't spot it! :/
Haven't used aHome in a long time, but I have a feeling that if you move an icon to the edge of the screen it will extend it and add a new screen. Maybe I'm thinking if something else...?

yessir that is correct
In the aHome menu, in settings, it allows you to choose number of screens, allows you to number (or mark) each screen, and so on. I can't tell you exactly because aHome doesn't work on my current ROM. Check display settings in the extra menu on the home screen. It's in the same menu where you change your fonts and drawers and stuff.
Thanks a lot guys - Adrian yep that's it, currently you drag an icon to the edge to make a new screen!

If you no longer require assistance with your question please edit the title or your thread with [SOLVED] (ie [SOLVED] set number of screens in ahome).
Thanks.
Done, cheers.
