...I havent disabled ms threading yet in text messages but one thing that does annoy me is that when I click on the message from touch flo...it goes straight into a reply....is there a way to force it to open as a read only and then reply with threading enabled? Its a real shame that the message tab in TF3D doesnt support scrolling of messages isnt....anyone got any insight?
If you prevent the keypad from automatically popping up then the text will still be readable even in reply mode. One of the tweaking/config programs has an option for this, can't think which one right now.

Ok I'll have a dig around for that.....Im guessing disabling threading is prob the only solution...
Is there a way of modifying touch flo such that when you read them in the sms touch flo tab you can scroll...i.e. if you have a long message it seems to be the only way to read it is in the threaded reply...which I hate....have to say for something so fundamental as texting the current method makes a meal of it....this is my first WM Device and I like to read sms, in full, then goto reply...not just reply by default.....its too fiddly!
Turn off threaded sms.. u can do that with the diamondtweak tool..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409540
When you click on an sms in tf3d, it will show you the full sms, without a reply box..

Excellent..thank you....I kind of like the threading....but....I dont like the way it works in that a click on touchflo takes you straight to reply rather than read>then reply...
So this problem is just down to the mechanics of WM6.1 Threading?

I would assume, that you could install a different version of arcsoft mms, in order to fix it... bc it should just override the missing arcsoft files or whatever.
I also use mms on a daily basis. I flashed last nite and didn't noticed the mms prob until this morning... so when I get home tonite, I'll see if I can come up with something. But you should be able to search and find an arcsoft cab somewhere... if you do, try installing it. Obviously, we'd all like to find the newest version..
I found a post over in the kaiser forum about trying to extract version 5.xx of the arcsoft mms.. so hopefully that will solve our problems if someone is able to make that available.
thanks kamal, for sharing that...ill try to keep my acronym usage down for your sake...didnt mean to offend you or anyone else with "lol" im truely sorry i hope me and you can be bff someday and we will rofl about this..lmao lolol )
ohh and duprade, i tryed downloading arcsoft...but i had no success. maybe u kno if you have to copy some of the arcsoft files to directory or something bc my attempt to download it didnt solve the problem...
thanx in advance

sms typing area = threadded sms = chat window like
calendar is called calendar.exe not HTCcalendar.exe. you have to cahnge the reghack for using softkeychange.
ok i found the registry hack for the calendar , sry for wasting space...but has neone had the chat window get cutt off ???
no money for duprade yet..MMS still doesnt work...when i go to send a mms it just hangs there and doesnt send.....what can be done?

If you click the keyboard icon on the screen, this makes the reply window the correct size so you can see what you are typing. You can think resume normal typing once the window has enlarged...I am also missing my mms!
well, here's a cab that will setup your settings correctly for MMS ... but its still not working on my end... and im too tired to keep messing with it... but Im working with some other people on this .. so hopefully we'll get it solved soon.
i appreciate all the help..but where's the cab.? haha

I like the Itje's most recent rom release (6.1 black version), but reverted bacl to his previous rom release (ItsBlack) due to the stability, particularily the MMS issue. Would you or anyone else know the advantages or differences from this MMS cab's version over the HTC ArcSoft MMS 4.2.8.1?
the biggest advantage would be that arcsoft doesnt work! atleast not on 6.1black...i been trying to find some sort of solution...its really frustrating...but 6.1 black seems very stable to besides the mms issue....
has ne1 came close to finding the answer to our mms problem?
I love Black 6.1, and im dealing with the missing MMS (tho the dirty pics from chicks is sorely missed). Im just gonna wait since David and his "team" are working on it. They came thru with the keyboard fix....i have faith.
Quick side question (sorry to thread hijack as im in need of the MMS fix), how do you change the colors of the home icons?
What exactly is the issue with the MMS? It works on my ROM, maybe someone can compare the two's files and find out what's missing...

I have no option for MMS. From what Ive read its just missing from Black 6.1.
You know the lady voice that announces when the battery is almost dead, when you get a text message and reads it to you and all the other stuff...is there any way to change that text to speech voice to a different female voice? I know there are several other voices that are available but not sure how it would be changed on wm 6.1
First off, what app is doing that for you?
huh???!!

Are you sure your using a diamond for that? I have used a diamond for months now and have not discovered that feature!! please provide further details as to what device you have and which country bought in etc.
interesting....
I think I know what he's talking about, which is he has MS Voice Command installed.
As far as I know, it isn't possible to change the voices on MSVC but if anyone can prove me wrong please do, as I'd love a different set of voices as well

He's talking about Voice Commander. When you receive an email / sms you can run it and say 'Read SMS' or 'Read Email' and it will read any unread emails /sms
Very handy, esp. when driving
I would also love to know how to change the voice though

Come on now, of course I know what freakin' phone I'm using. That's like asking someone if they know what kind of car they drive and if they are sure about it.
Here's what you do to enable it:
Settings>Voice Command>
Check 'Enabled'
Check 'Messaging', 'Status' & 'Phone' boxes
The go to 'Notifications' and check 'Announce notifications through device speaker or wired headset only'
[/LIST]
Those directions above will read out loud the person calling you when you get a call, the person who sent you a SMS and what the SMS says, will read to you any email including the sender and subject line, but not the email and will also notify you when your battery is gonna die.
Trust me, it's a major attention-getter when your phone reads a text message to you when it comes in and people around you are like wtf was that. Plus it's great if you are lying in bed or something and your phone is across the room...you can hear what the message says and whether or not it's worth getting out of bed for. :-D
But anyway, if anyone knows how to change the voice please respond. Thanks!
Voice Command isn't installed on all Diamonds as standard and as I stated, there is no way to change the voices, I have searched for this myself before with no luck.
cool!

Man i'm learning new sh!t about my phone everyday. Cheers guys i know i have not answered your question but you have helped me finding something new
nice one!
pretty sure you cant change the voice but i know there's a registry tweak to slow the voice down witch makes it easier to understand. I've just remembered I'm sure there's the tweak in Advance config hope this helps
yeah i have this enabled on my phone and its the best when your laying in bed and wonder if its worth looking at. I do wish it was a more sexier voice like sigourney weaver from planet earth, and a little slower would be nice. IT came stock on my sprint diamond fyi, im surprised other versions dont have it
I have a sprint diamond and mines only talks when someone sends me a text message marked urgent and thats it. I have all the tabs checked on VC in the settings menu. am I missing somthing?

You don't have it setup correctly, that's why.
Go into Voice Command and do this:
- Check all the boxes you want to use this service. (Phone, Messaging, Status, Etc.)
- Highlight 'Messaging' then click on 'Options' button then UNCHECK 'High Priority Messages Only' and CHECK 'Announce New Messages'. Do the same steps for others like 'Phone' and 'Status' to change it's options. Make sure you highlight it first.

Hi, Folks,
I'm searching for a software to read the incoming SMS like the Blue&Me® by Fiat/Microsoft do.
I've found this app (TellMeText 1.1.0), but it has only one language (US English), and the language file is compiled with the executable app.
Anyone knows a app to do this function and a way to use the Gabriela Voice (Pt-BR) from iGo or something like this?
Thanks in advanced
If you have Microsoft Voice Command (MSVC) on your phone, you can set it to read incomming text messages, voice announce who is calling, and more Just be sure you really want it to do that before you turn it on.. It can be embarassing when someone TXT's you something questionable when you are in line at the bank or something... There is a feature where it will onyl read it when you have a bluetooth headset connection.. that is what I personally do...
I agree with Teej. I used the free/busy toggle cab to work around this. If I am not at work or somewhere I wouldn't want certain messages read aloud, I leave it free. If at work, I set it to busy. MSVC worked very well for me.
yes, MSVC is good, but reads the msg soooooo fast that you can berly understand what is happening. and the MSVC voice is sooo ennoying.anyway to fix it?

I haven't used it in a while since I am flashing roms constantly, but I know there is a registry hack where you can slow it down. Just Google it or search here. You can also edit voice recognition so that it is easier for it to pick up what you are say. Its a nice program, just very picky about installation and stuff so people don't like to always deal with it.
i just searched it, didnt find anything. prob didnt type the right info in search.
Is it any trouble if you can guide me ot the right path( regarding slowing the voice and voice recognition)
Appreciate it tilt4life2
this in an idea I like the sound of. Have you looked at the complete MSVC guide on this forum? It may hold a referance to the slowing down of the voices. Im guessing searching MSVC guide should find it or it may be linked in the Kaiser Wiki. Good Luck!
There is also TellMeText by Blondiesoft here and it's totally freeware:
http://www.blondiesoft.com/software/mobile/TellMeText/
It even announces the message before your notification goes off with its regular message tone.

Perhaps it has something to do with the threaded sms? I'm not sure. All I know is that it works fine on my TyTN II with WM6.0. In any event, I have decided to go with voice command instead.

Yes! the Kaiser Tweaks cab has the voice command settings in it. It's generically set to 4. Higher settings speeds the chick up, and lower settings slows her down.
Hope this helps.
You can search for Kaiser Tweaks in here to get the cab.
Cheers!

To change the voice's speed:
Go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Speech\Voices"
Change the value of "DefaultTTSRate" from between 1 (slowest) and 10 (fastest). Default is 4. Experiment to discover what is right for you.
is there a fix to this text msg freeze after i reply to it ? i heard its cause of the cache or something on the xperia. could i simply have my msg's on my sotrage card instead of my phone memory? what are some registry tweaks i can use with total commander and if u guys can point me to the right direction for this? i have tried the search but no luck for the text message freeze.
I know this is an old thread and no one replied but I too wonder if there is a fix.
Its annoying when I read/reply to a text message and close that conversation it freezes for like 20s to a minute for me when i try to go out to my text message window. and then from there sometimes it freezes for another 20s to a minute when I try to go to my home screen. I notice this only happens when I read a text or reply to a text to someone that I have a lot of text messages saved from.
If this doesnt make sense I can try and take a video of it and post it
Don't allow a huge build-up of old text messages. The more you have, the longer the pause, it seems. I wish there was a way to automatically delete SMS'es older than 'x' days.
I noticed the problem when I switched to WM6.5.
same problem here
If you are using WM6.5, use the newer version. I've got Christian's 3.904 Clean installed and the pause is almost non-existent compared to older WM6.5 ROMs.
yeah, the newer 6.5s don't have this issue (runnning Valkyrie LEO 5.5 and don't have the slow inbox anymore)
cool, im going to try out one of the new ones. I hate waiting for a minute after replying to a text.

Like I said, you shouldn't allow a buildup of many messages. Sometimes I wish I could know what the hell a WM phone is doing when we sit there and wait forever after pressing a function.
Which Christian clean ROM are you using. The problem went away when I went to the 3.904. I think he's up to 4.001 now.
Im using the latest one, the 4.001
I guess I have to delete my messages. Kind of sucks though since when I had stock WM6.1 it wasnt like this lol.
I remember a while back someone said its possible to change the save location of your text messages to your Storage card, will that make a difference in that freeze/lag?
Thanks
Anyone have the problem where when you select a contact and then text it takes 2-5 seconds to load the screen with the cursor? And the cursor itself is pretty slow to get input from the keyboard.
I'm pretty sure my keyboard itself needs cleaning as I've seen in other threads. However in Win 6.1 and now 6.5 with autocomplete of sentences on or off I still see the huge delay before I can type. Something feels wrong about this, anyone else experience this and have any advice?
usually turning off any autocomplete or t9 should speed up typing delay
well - stuff like that happens in Windows Mobile
theres a registry cab file somewhere here that fixes this.. do a search
Hmm yeah I have text correction set to None so no prediction or sugesstion.
I'm running windows mobile 6.5 is there anywhere else I could go.
Just counted now and from the time the screen acknowledge my click on text to the white screen and cursor loading is 7 seconds. My god windows mobile grrrr!
Everything else on the phone is pretty fast but wow 7 seconds!
royalbloodvi - I replied this morning before seeing your reply.
I've looked for cabs, registry tweak etc searching here and on google and I haven't had any luck. I've tried w/o quotes stuff like "SMS slow registry tweak" "txt slow" etc etc but no luck any pointers?

I don't know if it's going to work for You mate, but worked like a charm on my tytn 2 back in the past.
Hey, not sure if you tried this, but there's also a cab, or registry hack which disables the text "counter" in sms which also decreases the delay.
Here's there XDA thread which links to the original posting at ppcgeeks:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=581901
I have it cooked into my rom and it does help. I don't even miss the counter cause everyone I know either has unlimited text, or doesn't text at all.
Also, whenever you want to send a text make sure your Xperia is in landscape before going into the sms program or hitting reply. It helps a bit there too.
hope all that helps.
peace

yea thats the one..
Thanks I ran the cab and followed the directions about thread_sms.htm
All I saw in thread_sms.htm was <Inbox:ComposeBodyCount> which I assume is not the count of characters and my unexperia rom already removed that.
Having it in landscape mode prior to clicking someone's name definitely helps although first time I do it there's still some 5 secs or so of delay. But if I go back to another contact there's none. I'll keep playing a bit but thanks much better.
Day by day I will actually make my phone usable!
Edit: Also it's great how original X1 users have to wait and use cooked roms to get features from X2 to actually make the X1 "ok"
