Seems like there are ways to change your splash screen on many other models, (hermes, prophet, etc...) just wondering if there's a way to change the splash screen on my herald... thanks.
wondering 2
in your windows dir is a picture called, welcomehead xx.jpg i think , check that out and change it and then reboot...should work.
have fun
Thx m8 , will test it later this evening
I can see the splash for the tmobile first screen
"TMO_Startup"
Haw can you replace that screen. It will not allow me to replace it
weeks ago someone post a splash screen that was a at&t logo looking like star wars death star. I search but found nothing if somebody can help me will be appreciated
I couldn't find one either, so I just slapped this one together...
thanks great splash screen
That would be a cool startup screen - if you make it I sure would like to have it.
Right on, thanks. Glad you guys like it.
Yeah, I'd like to make that my startup screen too... =P
I made it and then realized I didn't know how to change the splash screen. Ahh well. I'm sure the instructions are on the board somewhere!
In the mean time, I decided to make a background based on this graphic...
It actually works out pretty well with the black theme and HTC Home.
Nice Graphic, Here's it converted into a usable splash screen. It needs to be 320x320 24bit PNG file. Unzip it and copy it into your phone's windows folder.
You may need to use something like resco file explorer to change the original splash graphic (welcomehead96.png) to remove the read-only attribute so you can copy the new one in.
Have fun.
P.S. This is the "2nd" splash screen and comes up after the ROM splash.
Here's an updated version with the starfield background...

Oops... Just saw your post.
Hmmm.. Not sure I can do that with paint.NET, which is all I have installed on this box at the moment. It looks like it can save PNG files, but I have no idea if that's 24bit or what.
Here you go..
could you be talking about this one???

Windows Phone 7 Splash Screen (Animated)
Hi,
Here is my first contribution to XDA, and I'd like to share with you this Boot up Animation I made, based on the real Windows Phone 7 startup.
I hope you will like it.
----------------
How to use this splash screen on your Windows Mobile Phone
1. Download the .zip file below, extract the .gif and the .png files on your phone.
2. With a software like Advanced Config modify the original splash screen like this :
- replace the original splash screen with wp7_splash.png
- replace the startup animation with wp7_anim.gif
You can use only the .png if you want, in order to keep your HTC animation.
Restart your smartphone, and it should now work !
----------------
Updates :
- QVGA-VGA Version in Post 2
- Smoother animation
- Focus/Motion blur in order to have an animation closer to the Microsoft's version.
----------------
Big update
New version with the actual Windows Phone 7 logo (not the old Windows Phone logo as in my first version), as you can see in the second thumbnail below. This version looks very close to the future WP7 version.
Download wp7-logo_splash.zip in order to get the new version.
Here are the QVGA and VGA version of this boot animation.
Instructions in Post #1.
Enjoy
Looks nice! Good work.

I added a VGA version of the splash screen. You can download it in the post#2 (that fits Raphael's resolution).
It works in the same way than WVGA version.
Enjoy !!
For QVGA version, i think it is better to have a smaller logo and text.
Moreover, is it possible to add the loading dots as present in the real WP7 splash screen?
BTW, gd job man!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks downloading

Good idea, I will make a smaller version for QVGA devices before next week-end.
But I don't know what do you mean when you're talking about the loading dots ?
The boot animation I've reproduced (and also customised a little bit) looks like the one I saw on LG devices, that has not dots. I've seen an earlier stage WP7 that even didn't have the complete animation but no loading dots.
Do you have a link to a video in which we can see them ?

Can I try this for my motoQ guy ?
Nice work, I prefer the old version though.
Cooooooooooool but if you add more delay, it would be more nicer !! 2.5 or 3 second would also be standard

I don't own a moto Q device, but it should work. I'll make a 320x240 version, (reversed QVGA) then you should be able to use the PNG to replace the original bootscreen in the Windows directory.
Then, in the registry, you will have to point to the new file here : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Splash Screen

So do I in fact, but the new version is closer to the real WP7 startup. But the older shiny Windows Phone logo really looks good. But WP7 is a big step to simplicity, so is the logo.

Thanks for all your comments.
Yeh, Exactly, I mean animation
Looks great, I'll probably use the loading dots version when you make it
What do you think about this first try ?
Hi,
I've bumped into one cool WP7 taskbar, but it seems like its not working and the developer has given up on it (i think )
So, can i request someone to complete this beautiful taskbar?
Or if the original creator bump into this thread n feel like continuing it?
This is the link of the original thread ;

Credits to the original creator; qitt
Thanks in advance
It works for me I'm on NRG Topaz ROM (WWE)... If you want I can share sources...
didnt work on my omnia 2, crashed it had to hard reset!!!!!!!
Needs a 6.5.x version and i would be happy. Works on 6.5.x but we will lose some buttons.
i too am waiting for this little beauty
someone please pick up this project
for the leo please.
very nice taskbar.....working and matches perfectly to my ROM...( see my signature)
Thanx. for the creator.
Can it use on SE X1??
Ok...it working on SE X1..
I tried that and it crash my Topaz. I need to hard reset then only my Topaz come to live again.
During the startup splash screen, it shown an error saying missing file...
Anywhere wait for a stable version of WP7 Taskbar...
It works on my Elfin (QVGA) with Onyx Rom (6.5.5), but the icons don´t appear clear and nice, and, for example, the battery icon is the old one, and when I activate Bluetooth, the icon doesn´t appear.
Thanks to qitt.
Greetings!
this taskbar works great on a wvga 6.5.5 device...
the trick is to install the HD Mini mod so you only have 2 softkey buttons and the "NO START TEXT" mod so you get rid of the "START" text that will show up on upper left corner on every screen.
let me know how it works for you

the factor time is against us. But maybe help will come. Do someone know a good tutorial?
,,,, at least for theaming taskbars.
I grabbed a .png from here and need to create a kaisimg.nbh for it.
Anyone know how? I tried loading it into NBH tool but it looks for an .nb file.
Attached is the modded .png image for the Kaiser, I can do others if needed.
Thanx in advance for any help....
here is where I found how to make .nbh from an image
Flashing Custom Splash Screens on Kaiser
good luck ^^
Post it when you're done!
Also, black would be nice
I was thinking black as well but if I invert the colors the text and android robot goes purple, all except "quietly brilliant", which turns white.
I might mess with it in paint tonight... Thanks for the link!
On black as requested.
Also in BMP format.
https://sites.google.com/site/speedysurferuk/SplashScreen.bmp?attredirects=0
Ok, after much deliberation and fidgiting with .ocx/.dll files, I finally decied that Win 7 sux for using the nb splash tools... I reverted to "old faithful" toshiba WinXP lappy.
It was a PITA to get the pic to invert AND keep the aspect correct, and I will admit the lower phrase is skewed left, but only slightly.
Anyway,...
Here's my very first contribution for a splash screen!
240 x 320 24bpp, for Kaiser only.
Unzip, put on an SD card, enter bootloader, install and enjoy!
PS:
I'll post one of the black one supplied by SpeedySurfer sometime tomorrow.
oooo man its great now fist boot is more androided thanks
