How to record conversations? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

I'm wondering if there's anyway to record my conversations with other people???

I haven't done a lot of searching on this subject, but I know there's a few commercial packages.
I've personally used VITO Audio Notes on both the old Cingular 2125 (HTC Faraday) and currently on the Touch Cruise (Polaris). It worked flawlessly on the 2125, on the Cruise I have had a problem with the volume of the other side being pretty low. It automatically records all conversations without any manual activity from the user (warning, make sure you clean out the recordings semi-often). A quick look on a couple sites turned it up as being about $7.
The functionality of recording a phone conversation isn't too complicated, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a freeware, or even open source option available.
Also, just a reminder that many countries have laws regarding the recording of phone conversations, many of them at least require that you notify the person being recorded.

i think its exactly the opposite of this , its exactly the opposite reason why people are searching how to record the conversation.. to sneaky record the conversation with your girl

Well, that I won't deny as perfectly logical
I'm giving the 'legal' reminder on sort of the same grounds as people on here being so strongly against software piracy. It's one of those things where people need to know they are possibly committing crimes (despite how easy it is to do, and how incredibly unlikely it is that they would ever be caught). Obviously, there's no chance you're ever going to get busted for recording conversations with your girl....unless they are standing over your shoulder while you type up a message like this into a forum

Freaking Voice Dialing....

I have tried searching, and haven't been having much luck.
With a phone as advanced as this, why is having voice dialing WITH voice-to-text recognition such an issue? My Verizon V710 had true voice dialing with back in 2004!
From what I've been able to garner, true voice dialing is pretty rare with the GSM market, but with a PPC phone, there should be some option.
Before the Tilt, my Blackberry Pearl had voice recognition, but it barely worked. What do I need to install on my Tilt (using the latest Dutty Tilt version TouchFlo ROM) to have this feature? It is beyond me why a phone nowadays would not have this feature....
Get microsoft voice command 1.6. It will let you run your whole by voice. Do a search and you might find a link.
i agree with angel-78. I'll add, if you act like that and dont want to ask questions nicely and dont care about your phone, maybe you should sell it and go find a more simple phone to use. this one sounds out of your league.

Thanks for the reply. I did search, both with the forums search and using the Google "site:" function. No luck.

I'm not sure what your problem is, but if you don't have anything to add, why don't you go take a long walk on a short pier. What do you want me to say... pretty please, with sugar on top?? If I was mad, it was quite obviously directed at the makers of an otherwise great phone/OS, but apparently your 2nd grade reading skills don't cut it when trying to extract such information from a post.
...and when did I EVER say I didn't like my phone? I think it is just RIDICULOUS not to have some sort of hands-free calling that doesn't require training. Every non-PPC phone I've owned within the past 3-4 years has had it. For a phone in this price range, it is absolutely inexcusable.
I do not need a more simple phone. It's not like it's a feature that is there, but I'm not able to figure out. It's just not there. But you probably wouldn't understand anyways.
There. Now you can say my post was other than nice. Retard.

Thank God for the "ignore list".
Flapjack - I understand with and agree with your point. I don't know if it's a software or hardware issue but it seems that a voice recognition feature shouldn't be that hard to come by. I also have seen this technology at work on other phones, as with you, mostly Verizon Motorola phones. Seems odd that GSM phones wouldn't have the technology. Does anyone know why this limitation exists? To reiterate, I'm not talking about the voice recognition feature where you have to record your voice and use it as a tag. I'm talking about the enter-names-in-your-address-book-and-just-be-able-to-call-it-by-saying-the-name feature. I believe it's called SIND or Speaker Independent Name Dialing.
As with Flapjack, I'm not bagging on the phone. Mostly, I want to know why this technology is not available on phones like the Kaiser but exist on phones that are free with Verizon.
Was anyone able to trigger the Ms VoiceCommand from a Parrot kit ?
I have a Parrot CK3000 Evo, and the Kaiser won't launch the msvc invit
... while it does with a bluetooth heaset
At the opposite, my Blackberry 8820 works great...with the Parrot (else I still don't like Blackberry OS )
any idea?
Want voice dialing
I have also had it on my last 2 phones sony S710A and my old MOT V551. both GSM by the way. I have a hard time believing this phone would not have simple voice dialing. Does any one have a clear answer on this issue
The best voice dialing is Microsoft Voice Command v 1.6. I have used this on my Tytn and now Tytn II (Kaiser). Go to Handago.com and download and purchase this software. The accuracy is 95% and I have over 550 contacts. It also announces incoming calls by name (check the threads for a fix for WM6), can even read sms messages (careful who listens to these) and much more.
Best app on my Kaiser
Voice Command is the best retail package out there.
Voice Signal is much, much better than VC, but it's only OEM'd so you can't get it for the various Kaisers out there.
VoiceSignal doesnt seem to support as much spoken languages...
If MVC is so great, why is it not included as part of Windows Mobile? It doesn't make any sense...
Do any cell companies actually include the software in their ROMs? It would make a lot more sense for them to pay for bulk software and include it as opposed to us having to pay for it.
I mean, really... it's not like the voice recognition software that comes with other phones is free. They pay for it, we use it.
Voice command
I think voice command is not bundled with phones because of the few languages supported.
I'm italian and voice command is quite unusable.
I heard cyberion voice command support italian but I can't find it anywhere.
I agree with the first istance: it's very strange that a €800 windows mobile phone has not a voice recognition program. My old Nokia N70 does have and it works very very well.
It's the carrier/phone manufacturer's option to bundle VC, but MS is going to get their money out of someone for the software. For example, it's included on many Treo's, and I believe the Samsung i760 includes it. But then VZW or Samsung paid for that license and built the cost into the phone.
Well, the TILT does come with Cyberon Voice Speed Dial pre-installed. It works and not only allows voice speed dial, but voice launching of applications. MS Voice Command may be better, I don't know, haven't paid the money to try it.
Wish there was a way to select or adjust that synth/can voice. It's pretty rough.

Thank you so much!
It never even occurred to me to search for "MSVC". No wonder I couldn't find it!

awesome piece of software!
thanks alot man!
one question though, is it possible to map anything to the button on the handsfree? that's when i really need to use the voice command, when the phone is in the pocket and i have handsfree out. it would be little annoying having to take it out all the time to press a hard button.
any suggestions?

Recording a phone call finaly possible

Hi,
I don't understand why this hasn't cought everybodies attention, but recording a phone call is now possible. Both sides of the conversation are recorded in very good quality. It all seems to be made possible by the ICR (InCall Recording) software from the Touch HD (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=457808) although I can confirm that also my Resco Audio Recorder is now able to record both sides of the conversation in great quality, so it does now automaticly for all my calls.
It's really weird that everyone was under the impression that call recording wasn't possible due to hardware limitations, while all the time we just needed a little piece of software from HTC.
It's just a headsup, if it's common knowledge I'm sorry to have bothered you .
Cheers,
Cacti
I've look through the eniture thread...and there seems to be a lot of different files for different languages and such.
Could you post links directly to the files needed for the Raphael in English?
Thanks!

Be sure you got PhoneCansas (Slide to Answer/Ignore) installed. Some ROMs have it installed (eg: RomeOS).
You can download it separately: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3124498&postcount=76
After you install ICR restart the device.
Make a call, press Menu and go to latest item in the list "Start recording"..
Then go to the ICR application and press Play (I can't see anything but the previous screen... something is wrong here)
Anyway, unfortunately it doesn't record normally "two ways". It seems that it records only from mic . This means that you hardly can hear the other person if you are'nt using speakerphone.
I have the GSM version of Touch Pro. What about you le_cactus?
It's also part of the recently ripped and posted Sprint Diamond ROM.
VITO audio notes
I've found another good application.
This is the best app for audio recording so far. Also to hear the otherside talking.
This was sure one of my interests. I was wondering why nobody opened a thread related to this kind of software.
But try to google it. I've got the cab PM if you want. It is freeware.
This recording application doesn't ruïn your calls, because I had many lag with resco audiorecorder. (isn't freeware)

Ok just gave it a try. Only succeeded in recording my own voice during a call. Did'nt record what the other person was saying.
Looked for any settings but didn't find any one. Did you do something special to record both sides ?
Just an FYI, but here in California in the US, both parties must be made aware the call is being recorded and BOTH parties must agree to it, if one party is not made aware or does not agree it is illegal to record. Laws on this vary from state to state.

I don't know if it's free or not.
I just googled it and found what i was looking for. I haven't got any purpose of giving someone advise with wrong engagements or with bad ideas. Anyhow if it's worth it, buy it. I will if i could remember the source. But if the software is making me aware of it, i will not have to wait a minute to decide that i would pay the price for the software because it works quitte well.

So your link points to version 1.02. Will give it a try.
I download the version available on the link I putted here earlier, seems it's version 1.37 so I expected if it is working with 1.02 to work with 1.37
Maybe is the problem rom related. Tried ICR too and seems some people have nice recording and other don't
How?
Hi,
Thanks for the info. Just what I was looking for. But how...?
Who got it working on their Touch Pro?
How to install, and how to use?
Is it possible to record all calls automatically, and then later decide which to delete (to save memory)?
Sorry if I ask obvious questions, but I went through three threads and it is not clear to me what to install, how, etc.
Thanks for your help.
I ask because I installed
ICR_51spsoft_com.cab
and it installs OK, needed an unrequested restart, further no obvious problems. Doesn't seem to record any side.. Changed settings around to WAV and Card, but no records show up of my test calls.
I also tried:
Noonski-XDA_ICR-VGA-MONX.cab
As found with online with the following discription...
http://www.sharemobile.ro/file.php?id=281443
Filename: Noonski-XDA ICR-VGA-MONX.cab
Filesize: 610.3 KB
Description: ICR (InCall Recording) for HTC Diamond & Touch Pro (VGA). May work on HD too. ICR dumped from a HD ROM.
It installs, doesn't seem to need a restart (did anyway), but when opening the program it doesn't show on screen, except for menu button (bottom left) and OK/close button (top right). I tried a test call anyway, no luck.
This version says to work on Touch Pro.. but not on mine. Yours?
So, any advice?

Voice Recorder for X1

Is there Voice Recorder Software for Xperia?
If yes, where can i download the best voice recorder software?
http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/audiorecorder/
Did YOU try that yourself? They do certainly NOT list the X1 as compatible, or any HTC phone respectively.
I already tried another program, forgot the name, something like call recorder... but of course, did NOT work with X1.
this one partly works...
..but you can almost only hear yourself in the recordings. So it's sadly only recording the mic on it's own side.
yeah plane voice recording should be the same on all pocketpc's as
mic input is handled the same way
but recording phone conversations is another matter
it's rare that apps supported devices mean anything
unless it's software which use special features like camera or gps or
the likes
in most cases pocketpc apps is like pc apps and works on all pocketpc's
Might be true in some cases, but don't you think that if a phone would be REALLY supported, the seller would state that???!!!! Its called marketing.
So if some software works on some phones that are not stated as supported, is coincidence or plain luck on the side of the user.
One can only get back to the seller with a complaint or support question when that phone is listed. Else, out of luck
I've got Resco on my X1 right now. have used it to record lots of notes etc.
As well as used it to listen to audio books (It has a book mark feature)
I haven't tried it to record a phone call yet, will try it tomorrow when i get time
Sounds good, kindly DO report. Greetings!
"but don't you think that if a phone would be REALLY supported, the seller would state that???!!!!"
lol
do you realise how many pocketpc have been released since ms started using arm platform 90% of software works on all of them
the seller would be hard pressed to list them all or even know all of their names
you can compare it with a computer game listing
dell p3 blabla compaq p4 blba bla hp laptop tx acer........
Yeah, makes sense.... why would Resco or MS give a rats behind if a SONYERICSSON Brand and X1 (one of the most expensive phones on the market) would be listed and those users entised to get that.

Sorry to say, but it doesn't exist.
Well there is an app for Iphone ...but you cant use it while calling....but its real-time
http://iamtpain.smule.com/
Years back on the Ngage 1 the s60 world had one of the best apps which would add background noise into a call, i still miss that app!
you could be talking to someone and have a dive bombing airplane noise suddenly appear in the call or an elephant trumpeting or even pretend to be in traffic.
Yes. I use to have it on my Siemens SX1.
i don't think there is one for WinMo.
Actually, there is something that can convert on the fly... Not sure if it works over the phone, but check it

Voice Twister
I just got the 3 day trial of Voice Twister. It can't do live, real-time voice changes. Instead you hold a button to record, then let up to hear the altered audio clip.
I did have a few instances of stuttered or truncated playback, but that may be due to low system resources. Still a fun little app though!

program to record phone conversations

hello!
i need program to record phone conversations in HD2 ...
someone can help me? thanks
I dont know any program but you can record your conversation using your HD2 video camera... Just put your call on loudpeaker and fire up your video camera...Press record and you are done!
HD2 with WP7 or WM6.5?
WP7 i dont think there is any.
WM6.5 search for ACR (auto Call Recorded) the HD2 needs some reg hacks for it to work first.
THis kind of programms are illegal. its not allowed to record phone calse even not a normal chat without the awareness of every chater.

yes big brother...just like the patriot act!!!
I agree. We need more regular hacks like ACR for Wm6.5. that app. saved me from a couple of close calls. I never use it for anything illegal, but if you are someone who forgets things fast(like me) , and can't really be writing down everything, then ACR was a good option to getting around my problem. I'm willing to pay money for someone to develope the app(if it hasn't come out already). Anyone else with me??
