Text message marked as "read" - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

I'm not 100% sure but it used to be when I got a text message & went to message in TouchFlo3D, it marked the text as "read" and I didn't have the green circle with "1" on the messages icon anymore.
Now it actually requires me to open & close the text message.. even tho I can just as easily read it in the TouchFlo3D preview..
Is this a setting or anything?

Incoming SMS popup notification.

Hello,
Does anyone know if the popup that shows up whenever you receive a text message can be made larger?
There's an option in sounds and notifications to enable certain things whenever a SMS arrives:
1./ Play sound
2./ Display message on screen
3./ Flash light for... 15 minutes
4./ Vibrate"
Option 2 "display message on screen" is very nice but unfortuantely, the amount of text that it displsays within the popup balloon/bubble is very limited. For example, if you receive a text that is perhaps over 100 chars, the end will be chopped off.
There is then no way to click the popup to display the rest of the SMS. You must cancel the popup and then go into your messages manually in order to see what the rest of the message said.
Perhaps there's a registry setting controlling the amount of text that is allowed in the bubble?
Any other tweaks for it?
Thanks,

[MOD] New SMS Notification ?

Hey friends... I tried to search with all possible keywords on the forum but couldn't find an answer, hence I'm creating a new thread.
I was wondering if there is MOD or Tweak that can prevent a New SMS from being partially opened on the Home screen when it arrives. Instead a Nokia way of indicating a New SMS.
The opened SMS kind of refarains from privacy incase the phone is in someone elses hand.
Please can someone help in this regard...
Thanks in advance

search for ZOOM SMS... you will see a blue sms icons instead of sms showed up!
Its really simple... settings, sounds and notifications, notifications tab, then select whether to display message on screen for each type of new item...
Really should have searched, but here ya go:
Start > Settings > Personal > Sounds and Notifications > Notifications > New Text Message
Then uncheck "Display message on screen".
I'm surprised you didn't look there in the first place.
Fix
Settings>Personal>Sounds & Notifications>Notifications
Event: "Messaging: New text message"
Uncheck "Display message on screen"
I think he means a way for it to display on the title bar instead of the notification. I would like that to and a display of the same manner if you sent it, instead of the big annoying screen a little icon that has a chect and a little envelope and it vibrates the phone and when you recieve a txt it will have a envelope only and it would vibrate the phone or make a sound.
I would love that to happen.

Yes, this is what I mean. Rather a dialog box showing "1 New Message" and the '1' should increase based on the number of new messages.
Thank you all for pointing me towards the right direction. Appreciate it.

Text bubble

What does the text bubble mean that sometimes appears about 1 cm to the right of the Start menu?
Thanks,
Jon
Im guessing it means that you have a new Text Message, Try going to the Messages Menu in TouchFlow3d or by going to Start > Programs > Messaging

nope, this one appears on the bottom. i think it the bluetooth in "discoverable".
btw, jon12345 can't you read what is written there?
The one which looks lke a speech bubble? Its shown when you have too many notifications for just the top bar for example you have a mised call notification a text message and your bluetooth is active.
Hope this helps
Well, I never switch my bluetooth on and I had no text messages waiting to be read.
The bubble appear when there are more than 1 things to do.
If you have a missed call and a message, the bubble appears, as if you have the batt. empty and a missed call, the bubble is always there.
1 Time has appened that the bubble doesn't come out, also after the message/call reading, it was still there.
A soft reset has resolved.

[HERO]SMS's not being marked as read

After recieving a text yesterday I saw it popup on my lockscreen, I pulled down the nofitications draw and clicked on it to open it in the messages app to read it. I didn't reply, just hit home and locked the screen, but the text was still on my lockscreen, notificatons draw and the messages icon had a badge to show one unread message. So why isn't it being marked as read?! I got a text the day before that I didn't respond to and it was fine.
Same here... its driving me mad!!! anyone with a fix??
I would say try doing a wipe.

Different SMS Icons

Just an easy question about two different SMS-icons. i don't know what is the difference and i don't know, what they mean?
Icon 1. Attachment
Icon 2. Attachment
Thanks!
Let's see,
Well the first one is the symbol for a message stil being sent, as if you sent it with no reception or very poor reception.
However, the second, i cant see to well becuse of the red arrows, but my guess would be it is the symbol of an unsent message as if you sent it with no signal and if gave up trying to resend because of the lack of signal. Is it the shape of a triangle, because if it is in fact, then it is the symbol of an unsent message.
Anyone correct me if i am wrong, but i dont think there is any change from the g1 symbols
Thanks for your answer!
...but the crazy thing is, that the icons don't fit with the delivery reports. Because they say, that the SMSs have been deliverd. I also asked the recipent, if the she gets the SMS. Her answer was yes....so all my SMS have been delivered. just the icon don't match up with the status Very strange!....
I could be wrong, but I believe the one with the arrow pointing out means it was sent. Then it disappears after a few seconds?
No...the arrow doesnt disappear.....the SMS, which are shown in the pictures, are sent by yesterday. No disappearing after few seconds....

I've never seen the one with the blue arrow. Did you forward those messages to someone else?
Noo....no forwarding.
All my SMS have this icon with the blue arrow. I thougt it's normal
Just my last three SMS have the icon with the red clock...so i thougt there is an error...i am confused

I'm confused as well, but don't worry.. if people are getting your messages, then there's no problem.
In the Messaging options, have you enabled delivery or read reports or anything like that? Maybe the blue arrow is a visual notification that the message was delivered or read by the recipient?
Yeah....i've enabled "delivery reports". So i can read the status of the messages by holding down on one message. There i get the option of "delivery report" and all my messages show "Delivered".
By holding down on one message with the red icon i get one more option than by holding down on one message with the blue arrow.
I can edit these messages with the red icon....so the N1 "think" that the messages arent delivered ?!
What icon are shown in your message application?

The red clock looking icon means the message is still being sent. I do get that, but only very briefly.
The only other icon I ever get is a grey triangle with a red !, which means the message couldn't be sent.
Edit: I have no idea what the blue arrow icon is... I thought it meant that you had forwarded the message or had a delivery report, but after trying myself, neither are the case. Still, if people are getting these, I wouldn't worry.
As for the red clock... if it is stuck on that icon, then the message is still being sent and for some reason it's not sending. This usually has to do with the network, but could be a problem with the APN. You're obviously able to send some messages, so the APN should be fine. That leads me to believe there's a network issue that isn't allowing you to send all your messages.
Maype this is the case....
Yesterday i installed APN Settings because i was travelled in a other country. I just wanted to forbid roaming...But while sending these messages, APN Settings was disabled (no blocking)....but i got the red icon...strange. Maybe the Nexs was confused, too
...and i've thougt, that the icon with the blue arrow is quite normal
