Deyavuuu? i dont know BTW... try to reformat it first in FAT16 insert it on the device if shown so reformat it on fat32... is 2gb? or 4gb?

So if you have a card reader in your PC insert your miniSD and like a Diskette click it with the right button it will said it hasn format do you want to format now... click yes format it wit FAT16 option... then insert your minisd on the PDA if is dysplayed so, unplug it again and reformat it but now in fat 32.

Its the memory card......
I had the same problem. Sometimes the card shows, sometimes it doesnt.......
One day, it just didt want to display at all......
It was also a Kingston 2GB (One of those adapted ones from MiniSD)
I bought a new one, works fine!
(Oh yes, the kingston cards apparenlty have a 5 year warrantee, if you have the slip!)
its becasue your card is corrupted..try to format it in your pc and hope it will work.else......
My Storage Card (2GB A-Data) started to act funny when I set the camera to store photos on Storage Card. It was if files were disapearing from it and even it seemed as if there is no Storage Card inserted at all. Once I set the camera to use main storage again and soft reset it all became allright again.

install WM5torage on your ppc which will make you use your ppc as a cardreader..or you can try Resco explorer or i think Total commander

first install WM5torage on your PPC..then run the application and Activate it,,after that connect ur ppc via usb and a new driver will be found in your pc...after a little while a new drive will appear i.e your MMC..right click and format

U are welcome my friend...the problem could have been caused by a virus or any software..maybe u ejected the card when it was in middle of something..this might have corrupted its sector..any way im glad i could help
i have tried this with 2 different micro sd cards. both 1gb. 1 sandisk, the other is a samsung. both work fine in the g1 and if i connect to my laptop (windows) i can access the files and everything as normal. when i right click and tell it to format however it ejects itself and i have to remount. i do not have an adapter to put it in my card reader, so this is the only way i can do it. can anyone tell me what i'm either doing wrong or a quick fix for this?

The g1 doesn't like it when you do that. If you don't have the adapter. Your only option that I know of is to format it is from android itself in the system options. Sorry to hear about your situation

I have/had the same issue, so i will tell you what i did and maybe it will help. I formatted my sd card on the RC33 update in fat32 and from the computer.(when the g1 liked the sd card).
My suggestion if you don't want to downgrade to upgrade..is to stick the card in another phone that can connect to your computer and format it that way.
Upgraded to cupcake (what ever version you want). Then the g1 was reading my 4gb card wrong. So i removed all info on the sd card just copied to folder on pc and formatted the sdcard through the phone. From there it was reading the card correctly. To go on, i then partitioned with apps2sd. Placed all info back on sd card and waa laa...like magic...or dream...or hero...i dunno confusing...who's on first?

I'm New with the G1! It's tmobile branded, RC07 Rom.
The problem is that the mobile wont to read the SD card. I tryed different card but nothing. The same card results working with the card reader! I formatted with FAT and FAT32 but it's the same....

have selected to mount it. when i plug in my g1 to the usb i have to select mount to copy files back and forth from the sd to my pc. i know its a bumb question im jut asking
when i was using my xperia with the cm 6.1 barebone that is released by neopeek,i see in the gallery that it stated thet the sd csrd is not mounted so i tried manualy using setting to unmount the sdcard.but when i tried to mount it again it failed.so,i switched to winmo and i can't read my sdcard.i tried to connect it to my computer,it won't recognized.it said in properties that it is in RAW format.How can i repair it?i tried few formatter like sdcard formater by panasonic but it said card not suported.
btw my sdcard was san disk 4 gb sdhc.
any help would be appriciated.

Some SD cards have problems with android. Problem might be fixed later, but for now use another card.

sounds like you broke the sd card. as android runs from the sd card it could have been corrupted when u pulled it out.
Ps. If u did not spoil your sd card, sd card not found problem could actually be fixed by hp format tool. Probably android does not read the format of the sd card at first....

In my Lumia 635 i put an 8gb micro sd card in it and it says "cant use sd card" upon turning the phone on... So i use the option there to format the sd card.... after the phone formats it, it has 256.00kb used 199.67mb free... So my phone has made a single 200mb partition on my sd card.... So then ill take the sd card out and reformat it on my computer to 8gb again and put it back in the phone and the phone says "cant use sd card again" and the same thing again... I've used many different formatting tools.. SDFormatter v4.0, BOOTICE, Windows Disk Manager, etc... but nothing seems to work.... Please help me someone...

Hi there, have you ever 'played' with this sd-card, as in partitioning ?
I recommend you try the GParted Live-cd, (also found on Hiren's (restored) 15.x).
steps to take:
-Clean the whole card (remove partitions)
-Create one (and only one) contiguous partition (FAT32)
-Place the card back into the phone, format from there
Please let us know if this works for you (and us) :fingers-crossed: If not, the card might be fried, or worse, the cardreader in your phone... Anyway, for about 10 bucks you can try a brand new card...
