Ok...Im thinking of flashing.....currently on t-mob default 1.37.x.x and .03 radio.
I know there isnt a radio in swifts rom and recomended is .05.
So whos using this and hasnt had any probs....ie gps, internet, sms etc all working - no issue.
Ive read stuff about having to cold-start gps after flashing is that really necessary?
Im not keen on flashing but this rom looks like what I want which is close to HTC original but faster.
I'm using radio .05 but not Swifts rom (im using Dutty's and i had Panosha's before) and i also have an MDA C4 and i can say that the radio is much better than .03, better battery life and the gps tracks much quicker! Hope this helps!
I'm using radio .05 and Swifts ROM 6.5 on my Compact IV with T Mob for a week now. No problems - GPS was very quick to get a fix...but I'm about to flash to 7.0

Guys - did you flash the radio at the same time as the rom...Im unclear as to whether you can flash them independently?
Which HardSPL did you use?
Did you have to do anyting with the GPS in terms of cold start after flashing?
Which backup tools are you using between flashing...?
Appreciate your help.
i flashed the hardspl, radio then the rom, all seperately
for backup im using spb backup and Jeyo Mobile Companion which successfully keeps the message threading intact!

Have used TLR 2 and 3, both very good ROMS but am currently using SwiftBL WWE Diamond ROM V4.0, the ROM is very quick, up to date and give you plenty of free storage and memory left after installation which is what persuaded me to change to it.
All the ROMS here are very good, some more customized than others so you either look through the different threads and compare the differences or try every ROM and see which one suits you
Stock 1.93
Mainly to destroy the ugly t-mobile pink theme. And oh yeah, touchlflo3d works significantly faster than 1.37.
Desperately needed help. Am thinking to change to Omnia, can't bear to part Dia.
Hi Bro Radeon, (had PM'ed you too)
Sorry to ask for help like this, as I had tried reading through, but I really got more and more confused.
I got only next 2 days to give my diamond a last try.
Till now I still can't truely understand what is Hard SPL, I tot all Diamond should have.
I look at your selection, it is very much what I hope to have, but can I know exactly how you get there.
SPL - OliNex 1.40 Developer Edition
ROM - SwiftBL WWE Diamond ROM v4.0 (1.93.405.1)
Radio - 1.00.25.05
After flashing, if things goes through, how I revert back to original factory default, so that warranty and resale is not a problem.
Infor about my device is as follows,
Red Screen:
DIAM100 64M
SPL-1.35.0000
MicroP-Diam (LED) v11
Green Screen:
PSOC-Diam STAGE_PVT v0.x30
Blue Screen:
White Screen:
Serial
Device Information
ROM version: 1.35.871.5 WWE
ROM date: 06/06/08
Radio Version: 0.93.25.NS26
Protocol version: 52.26.25.09W
Desperately looking for help, sorry for being so novice about flashing, kindly of phobia, perhaps is generation gap I supposed.
Ke Pin.
Take a screwdriver and dismount the screen, the Rom version is placed behind.
If you can't find it here, go to "Parameters/system/Device info" and you'll find it, it should be a better and safer way...
Cheers

Yeah using the UK updated rom version 1.93.405.1 (RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE_1.93.405.1_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship.exe) from HTC with updated Radio (.5) which is supposed to give better coverage and battery. Coverage went up by about one bar for me to total of 2 on 3G..
Phone is MUCH better with this ROM than the Orange one. Touchflo much snappier, phone faster. I did do the tweaks from Schaps advanced configuration tool and the TouchFlo3D config Tool.
Dont seem to have any memory leaks like others have reported even when using Opera.
Rom is on Duttys site http://duttythroy.net/
The Orange voicemail indicator works 100% with this ROM too and TomTom 7 works with around 7 satellites I got (TT7 NOT in ROM) !
Hasnt locked up once since flashing unlike Orange one. Im sure it will but been better than before so far
At the risk of sound like a super-noob, if you flash over the UK orange ROM with another one do you then loose things like the data-settings and other phone-settings you have to then re-input?

A new rom will detect your network and re-set all data settings.
K
from the polls most ppl are still using the stock 1.37 eh...
i heard the cooked roms are great.. and i do love the aestheticity of minimalism that most cooked roms offer.. great job
but i guess after tinkering so long with 1.37.. kinda tedious (and also lazy) to reflash the rom and do up everything again... i dun suppose we can port over everything after i reflash by using porgrams like Sprite backup since we are on a different rom..
My signature tells enough, though I am surprised to see so many 1.37 Stock rom's.
Probably the same people who mention about hot batteries , what hard SPL to use etc .
Honestly, each 1.93. 831 build is OK and better than the 1.37 , and some have more or less bugs & tweaks inside.
I currently use Dutty 1.1lite as it has the latest builds onboard and plenty of space.

maybe you should try posting in the ROM section....
call clarity is usually to do with the Radio rather than the ROM. Do some research.
thanks for your advice, its my first PDA WM phone - which radio do you reccomend, ithink i'm using the radion which comes with the HK 1.93 ROM
Thanks

05 is very good for UK users. 07 is also good, great recption but lower battery life. 05 has good reception in comparison to 07 and longer battery life....
Still no joy
Guys i have tried many HK 1.93 rom, duttys 1.8, E Euro 1.93, Vodafone UK 1.93.
and still the call qulity is by far the worst from a mobile phone i have ever come across.
Everything else works great.
one thing Yahoo! mail .co.uk keeps loging me out, and asks for password and user name, i enter the correct detils still wont work - however it does work at times. this is with all roms listed above. any one have a answer to why this happens.
and just one last thing, is there a limit on how many times this device can be flashed as i think i may have flashed it about 10 times in 3days of owing it.
tank in advance guys
EDIT:
I seem to have fixed the call / audio qulity - by using SRSWOW HD, no its much better than before, people can hear and understand me now.
help!!

Hi everyone,
Been using my BA for years now(4th one so far ) runing Sundreams 6.1 with radio version 1.06.02
Rom 6.141WWE HT4.20
ExtROM Black Kernel
rom Date 10/31/08
I know the latest radio version is 1.15 and here is my NOOB question
should I upgrade my radio version to 1.15 ???and BT version to whatever is latest or availabe??
I just dont know why?
Have no problem with it as is other than all the usual 6.1 glitches(wlan/ no radio after battery removed)
OOh right While I am asking, Why an earth I loose voip config after a soft reset? I use wm6 voip drivers and Sip conf tool by Shaun33 version 2.0.1 once i configure it works ok if I soft reset I have to re enter all the config via this tool otherwise no voip!! Any ideas?
many regards
It has some advantages (especially over the one that you have). Better voice quality, better signal, slightly better battery life, among other things.
As far as the voip, I cannot help you there, but if you go to the thread where you got this, I am sure someone had your same issue.

Thanks for your reply, Can radio be upgraded regardless of the windows version running. I have all the files to do the upgrade but not sure if its ok to do so whilst running wm6.1 Sundreams version or does it needs to be reverted back to wm2003 etc etc.
Thanks
the radio rom is independant from the OS Rom. technically, you don't even have to hard reset afterwards.
How To downgrade w.m 6.5 To w.m 6.1 ?
I Search All The Fourm , But Not Find Anything ..
down a 6.1 rom
Your search was flawed.
If you really searched, you would find this: Blackstone Wiki with all informations you need.
download a 6.1 rom you like, do task29 first and flash it.
read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377 and this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653604

It's so easy! if you have already done HSPL, and I'm sure you've done it before, if you have wm6.5 now
I by myself several times switched between 6.5.x & 6.1, all you have to do is to download a ROM of WM6.1!
here below you can see some of them!
1. Topix 3.5 WM6.1 Manila 2.1
2. Park Basic 1.3
3. Cloudy 0.2
4. Black New III by Kenia
And USPL will do nicely - my HD is working proof...
Performing Task 29 would not be bad idea if device was flashed often.
I recommend to flash latest stock 6.1 ROM you can find for your device. If not, latest Orange UK will be pretty good choice, due to later version of radio (1.14).
AFAIK, Park Basic is discontinued...
I would suggest to flash a stock ROM since it already has 6.1 and then flash a 6.1 ROM of your choice. I've experienced issues when i downgrade from 6.5 to 6.1 sometimes.
Just to be on the safer side, flash the stock rom and then flash the 6.1 rom of your choice.
I would suggest to flush stock rom and to stay with it The last one for ORANGE is a perfect rom imho

A guide for downgrading already exists. Just scroll down to the ottom of the first post in this thread
Reservations about Orange ROM
Hi, I wouldn't use the Orange ROM. I spent some time getting rid of it. Main drawback is the AGPS. It insists on making a data call everytime you want to use GPS software. Also, no Google mobile map, and when downloaded from Google, no satellite view. I would recommend the standard HTC 1.56 ROM, that uses just GPS and is just as quick.
Regards
Mike
I have Garmin and Igo software working flawlessly. No data calls made ever. GPS works fine. I dont use googlemaps so no opinion on that
I made a 6.1 ROM a while back.. check my "Energy" thread for it.

Well, a-GPS can be easily disabled, so that's no big deal. There are several tools to do that here on forum, like HD Tweak. And you HAVE TO disable it if using iGO...
But standard ROM is also not a bad idea... not bad at all...

Can't agree more With all due respect and gratitude to the cooks and the hard work and efforts they put into their roms, for a basic user like me the stock rom turns out to be the best and Ive tested quite a few custom ones.
