I want to know what frequency/band (850 or 1900MHz) in being used.
Is there any software?
Hi,
Unofrtunately, not that we know of...
In the phone dialer, type in *#*#364#*#*
under the FIELD TEST screen, you should see a "band". Mine's running on 850mhz

Maybe "we" is some sort of hacker conglomerate.
But I have seen directions for ways to see which bands / freqs are avail in area and on phone. but heck if I remember how.
I wish I could remember where I saw that.

We have both decided to sell our MDAs on eBay and cut our losses. It's going to have to be the IPAQ models for us.
From what I remeber, the problem is it's actually set in hardware. This is why no fixes exist.

Just yesterday, I used CWM and got Andromeda 2.1 on my phone. Just by playing around with it I saw SGS Tools. There was a thing at the very bottom of the list in the secret codes which was called "Switch 3G--- HSPA". I looked it up on Google to see what it does, then I started playing with it. Finally I chose the option that is usually stock, and I used the speedtest. I usually get low 3.00's where I was, but yesterday I was getting around 4-6 mbps. My highest speed was 6.07. So what did I do to make it so fast? Did I break the AT&T restrictions? Also if I did, will it make my bill cost more?
Dial

Menu, end
Should do it

Hi,
For some strange reason in contacts, at the top it displays my number, this is incorrect as I ported my number from Orange to three last year....how can I change this? It also displays the wrong number in status in settings!
Thanks

Oh I'm glad it's not just me, it's rather annoying as if I share my contact with someone they get the wrong number!
Looks like the number comes directly from the sim card, there is a work around of putting the sim into an old android phone and changing the 'own number' field in settings, unfortunately as I am at work I cannot try it until I get home tonight...

Bit of a pain but it has to be done.

Is there any way to access the service mode menu? I wanted to see which LTE band my phone is on but none of the codes work with my nexus 6.
I'm looking for this too. Anyone?
nope, there no way. you can install the lte discovery app if you want to know which band your n6 is connected to.
Are you sure there aren't any?

doesnt work here. its probably related to you being on verizon, and me being on tmobile. on tmobile, the only code that works is *#*#4636#*#*, and thats to change your data service(can do lte only this way).

Sorry...
I apologize for bringing this thread back from the dead but I figured it was worth noting that the USSD code *#*#873283#*#* works on T-Mobile although I have no idea what it actually does. Tired it on my phone and it responded with "check-in succeeded". I googled it and it apparently has something to do with Sprint, even though I'm on T-Mobile??? Strange.....
On Marshmallow, the *#*3282#*#* seems to no longer work.
Wanted to mess with the band priority. Did I miss something?

But the code to get in to band priority does not seem to work on Marshmallow.
Are you running stock/no root 6.0?
