Light Sensor during call - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Hi Guys
I constantly read in this forum about the light sensor doing something when the phone is ringing or within a call.
i have two questions about it:
- how do i enable, that the screen turns of during call, when i move the phone to my ear?
- how do i enable, that the ringing mutes when i turn the phone upside down?
i read in the sticky notes, that it is kind of standard, but my diamond is not doing it.
now the more important question (i know it's the third one)
is it worth to enable these things? or is it more trouble having this options enabled?
i can think of accidently muted calls etc.
thanks so far
please do not blame me for not using the search. i did. but i think it's helpful to have this bundled in one thread.
thanks in advance

hi athena99, please check out Tuatara's post: 3 Rings Delay ... & Volume Fixed thread, read through the thread first before installing anything.
tried it before & working fine in Himalaya, but never felt the need to install in BA. you may want to update us if it worked for you.

Volume increases when an incoming call is not answered

Hi!
I have got a peculiar porblem. Searched for someone with similar problem. Doesn'r seem to get one!
Whenever an incoming call is not answered in my touch viva, the volume of ringer increases automatically. If it is silent come to vibrate, if it is in vibrate then comes to Ringing mode. I cannot rely on silent mode anymore while in meetings.
I have Touch viva, Wm6.1 and few third party softwares installed but not anything related to sound or calling function related..
Please let me know if someone has already killed this bug!!
Regards and thanks!
Elmad.

Problem with accepting phone call

I have a question that I usually put my HTC One into my pocket and when I receive a income phone call, it is a big problem for me when I get out my phone from pocket, my finger in this case may tap somewhere on the screen and from that I can answer the phone call without need to tap to the green phone icon to answer. Sometimes, it suddenly automatically end the incoming phone call, I don't know where I can touch to have this action and I'm trying to test again. Anyway, this problem is not convenient for me because there is somebody I don't really want to answer or someone I need to answer but I'm facing with the automatically end incoming phone call like this. Does anyone help me? Is there anyway to fix this problem??

I find it hard to imagine how taking the phone out of a pocket would slide the Answer Call button far enough to actually answer the call. Unless your screen was never off, answering a call while it is locked requires you to slide the Answer button quite far into the middle of the screen before it's answered.
You seem to be having the same issue that someone else here had, but he fixed it somehow. I asked what he did but he never replied ):
The big problem is that i just only need to tap everywhere on the screen to answer without need to slide the green answer icon Anyone help me??????????
You can try asking the OP in this thread for the solution. He had the same problem and he somehow fixed it, but he didn't say how.

Cheek turns on speakerphone

I know this has been addressed, in part elsewhere but I cannot find a definitive answer. Simply, when I answer a call, touching the phone with my cheek switches to speakerphone. Previous Apple and Android phones detected the phone movement and disabled the screen until it was moved away from the ear. Can this be "fixed" on the Z1 (4.3) without rooting?
Are there proximity settings I can play around with - I can't see them!
Thanks

he want to answer without touching to screen . when you moving your phone to ear while calling it'll automatically answer. on your picture there is no this option. you have to press volume button or it'll automatically will open if you even don't move phone to ear.
if these not working you have to try another apps for this.

The options I suggested go some way to meeting the OP's request, as in both options there's no need to touch the 'screen' to answer a call.
With the 1st option shown, whilst lifting the phone to the ear, pressing the volume button (not the screen) answers the call.
With the 2nd option shown, the call is automatically answered when headphones or bluetooth connected, no need to touch the 'screen'.
Both options meet the criteria set by the OP, without the need for 3rd party apps that don't work anyway.
In Settings, Advanced Funtions, exists "Direct Call", that settings is what you loocking for.

Don't want to contradict you, but you're giving wrong information to the OP. 'Direct Call' is intended for 'making' calls, not 'answering' calls.
At least on my device, this is how it works, if different on yours, my apologies.
