Instaling Opera Mini...

When I try to install it I get an error saying that it cannot be opened. I am using Dutty's Series software so Im not sure if thats the problem. Actually I am wondering if the Java software is installed at all as I cannot find it on my phone. Any help here would be great although I still like Opera Mobile.
Still scratching my head at this one. Is there any where I can d/l the Java for PPC software?
Try doing a search for Cloudyfa_Esmertec Jbed that should be what you need. It may even be listed in with Dutty's cab files that he has a site for.
Awesome found it, and Ill repost it here for future seekers.
Also make sure you read my articles - I've discussed and linked to Jbed in several of my articles (MIDlet Bible, Opera Mini 4-related articles, the article on the new Simcity game etc)

Windows Pocket MSN?

Just got myself a Kaiser about a week ago, and upgraded from an old O2 XDA. I've noticed on this model theres no MSN. Did Microsoft remove it? Or has T-Mobile given me a ****ty rom again?
Thanks in Advance.
I have a Kaiser from T-Mobile and I'd have Windows Live Messenger (msn)
I didn't have MSN on my Kaiser from T-Mobile when I got it back in December.
They were talking about closing the port MSN uses so people couldnt use it. Not sure if it ever happened but it would be odd for them to cause such a fuss about it, and then include it in their ROM. Still works fine though, and theres plenty of links to the cab kicking around on here.
idk if this is the right thing, i've got the cab on my comp. and can upload it if needed, but try this out first.

Sorry for the late reply. I've tried that link beofre posting here, it's basically a web based version of MSN, that involves loading webpages when switching between conversations/used for old mobile phones with limited internet. I was looking for the cab with the software if possible! Thanks in advance! =)

Kaiser and the Internet "pda friendly"

Hi All,
Has anyone else noticed that the Kaiser / IE seems to redirect you to a "pda friendly" version of a website.. I found this alot with News Sites and its nothing like the site you get from a standard PC/Desktop. I dont know how it knows I'm searching from my Kaiser and dont like the "pda friendly" pages, is there anyway to override this "feature" - After all I like to think I am getting to the actual website I want and not what "they" want...
It isn't the Kaiser that takes you to the PDA site. When you access the webserver that hosts the site it checks what browser you are requesting the page from.

You can avoid this and see the 'real' web by downloading and installing Opera. There is a setting in opera 9.5b's options to see the full web page rather than the mobile version.
Thanks there - I guess I should have known it was the Sites server etc and not the Kaiser.... So IE can't do it then, not had any experience with Opera so will give it a go (assuming I can find it) also I hear there is a Firefox version around called Minimo but again not used it before and dont know if it can do what Opera can....
Many thanks, will let you know how I get on.
Minimo was abandoned somewhere in 2006 at v0.2, was pretty unusable compared to today's browsers like Opera.
Hi,
Thanks for all the advice, yes I can see the pro's of Opera. Very sleek and lets me see the "proper" web page as opposed to the "pda friendly". Shame about Minimo tho as I like Firefox.... Here's to happy web surfing.

PIE isn't that great... but in these cases the owners of those particular sites have set it up to give a special version of their sites.
Its possible to get to the real version by messing with the user agent... but Opera does it soooooooo much better there isn't really any point. Opera mini 4 is free and works on any java enabled mobile phone (including the kaiser)
Opera Mobile 9.5 is available as a free beta version for windows mobile devices. Eventually they will release a commercial version which they will charge for and this is the one you really want on your kaiser (and should be worth the money!)

Hey I am a Tilt owner too. Why don't you start reading. Start with the stickies in each section of the kaiser forum. Then start reading all the newly posted threads. When you have a question, search, if you cannot find your answer then ask. Good Luck.
Yea there are a lot of softwares out there. Goto SPB SOftware House.com, Resco.net and many other sites.. They all have some nice must haves.
Regards,
Carty..
Have a look in my signature, hope thats helps, still very new myself, but this is what I've found so far.

This is a good place to start. Once you get into the phone & figure out how things work, then you'll become more knowledgeable about what will & what wont work.

Need help with a decent spreadsheet program

Hi all.
I have an XDA Mini S that I'm running WM6.1 on.
I usually use it for spreadsheets, and need a program that I can use vlookup in Excel on it.
Excel Mobile just won't do it.
Any suggestions for mods or other compatible programmes that can be used instead would be much appreciated.
My desktop currently has Win XP pro and Office XP pro, currently fully up-to-date.
Thanks in advance.
Try posting this in Q & A
You're in a device specific forum, and not asking a device specific question. Try googling windows mobile office.
Thanks, I've now re-posted in Q&A.
I've tried googling, just can't seem to find the specific answer I'm looking for.
