Hi,
Just wondering if anyone is using the US 3G Diamond with Rogers? Does the Rogers Name Display work? (this is like call display on a landline) There have always been problems in the past and some phones work while others do not. I love this feature and will be switching my Asian model for the US one soon. Thanks for any info.
Anyone? Thanks.

You can.. a few places here in Toronto have it in stock, but it is the Asian verision and the radio will not supports rogers 3g. You will only be able to get so so GSM quality for your calls, and slow internet.
With the addtion of Roger's high priced data plans and the early performance problems of the current verision of the Diamond.. i sold mine.. and still use my old trusted HTC 3600P...
Going to check out the Iphone 3G today...
Hello,
I just heard telus is going to release the CDMA version of the HTC diamond:

Anyone know what carrier will pick-up this phone?
I hope AT&T does because this definitely looks like a gem of a diamond!

There wont be a version that supports the US 3G network so it's highly unlikely that any carrier will pick it up.

HTC says that by the time they re-tool it to the US 3G band it would be time for the next gen. An unlocked version will still work on the Edge network and I believe HSDPA.

Hi
You can use it with some networks (Not CMDA) and you´ll loose 3G pretty sure (Unless htc develops an american version)
However I´m using my Uni in Mexico since 2005 and works well on my carrier (www.telcel.com) and I can´t connect to 3G, but personally not care as long as I have WIFI or WIMAX wich I do.
Good day,

Yes sir, you are right. Verizon, Sprint and others use CDMA technology, wich is different from AT&T, T-Mobile, etc. that use GSM. If you don't know how to tell the diff, it's pretty simple....SIM card=GSM, NON SIM card=CDMA.
Also the US network uses UMTS/HSDPA (850/900/1900/2100 MHz), while the European network works on 850/900/1800/1900 MHz.
So, if you buy the touch pro2 you won't get 3G in USA, unless AT&T come out with......let's say something like "FUZE 2" or I read somewhere that the name was revealed already (but don't remember).
Okay so i bought a Chinese HTC Diamond in China.
It looks exactly like the original one and the only difference is that it doesnt have WIFI and some other features like the camera has worse quality (2mp).
I tried using my T-Mobile (USA) Sim Card but the phone isn't connecting to the network. This phone is Triband (900/1800/1900) and works in GSM, GPRS and EDGE networks.
It is technically "unlocked" but i'm not really sure.
Anyone know what could be the problem?
Should I update the ROM to quadband to solve this?
Thank you in advance!
r u sure that one is not a fake diamond?
It is a fake diamond.... but a high quality copy, it works exactly like the original one. It was really cheap compared to it's features.
I'm just asking how can i make it work in the USA? It is triband and it should work with my tmobile sim card.

Usually what the spec says does not mean it actually has them, often total BS.
Don't expect too much, get a real diamond.

Yeah okay, if you're all gonna say that you're not helping me.
What it's done, it's done.
I can't afford a real diamond so i got this one really cheap and its actually a really good phone. And i checked the radio and it says "GSM 900/1800" and "PCS1900" so it has to be minimum dual-band, and i believe T-Mobile should work with it.
So if anyone knows about any update for this phone that could get it to work, please tell me. For now i will just check if it works with AT&T sim card or other carriers.
Thanks.
I don't thinks update with some ROM is possible It's not a Diamond but a simil-Diamond!!!

I can always try, if i unlocked the 850 gsm band it would work with in the US.
The problem could be that it is only dual band (Europe) instead of triband?
So ill just call tmobile today and see what happens.

It is a fake Diamond, the LCD only is QVGA!!!
what a fake...
Well, I'm a Chinese, and I'm using a HTC Touch Diamond.I'm sure that you've got a fake one, which is well known to our Chinese as a name of Shanzhai(zh sounds like dr),the name means it is made in small or OEM factory, but usually, Shanzhai cell has a lot of function(such as extraordinary standby ability etc.)
Lot of Functions and stability but Diamond's ROMs and Radios aren't compatible ^^ so thazeid don't solve his problems with Diamond SW

hey guys, I bought an HTC HD7 phone off of a guy that brought his fone over from the UK and I'm on a rogers carrier so I can't get a 3G connection due to the diff bands I guess, so if I bought an HD7 phone off of a guy on a Bell carrier and I unlocked it, would I be able to get that 3G connection? cuzz this edge crap is driving me nuts! I have a great data plan and I wanna take advantage of it by streaming my fav radio stations and stuff like that....or is there a way of getting 3g on my current phone? cuzz I entered all the APN settings and still no 3G!!
ok so I'm guessing with the non responses that this cant be done, as I thought since the last 2 years bell switched to GSM AND CDMA to accommadate the iPhone users of their customers...which is why I was thinking I can use a bell HTC HD7 phone on a rogers account. CAN ANYONE confirm or deny if its possible? aaanyone?
ok thx for nothing guys...
as long as the 3G bands match, 3G should work.
couldn't find the 3G frequency bands for either Rogers or Bell Mobility in my quick google search.
but i believe AT&T and Rogers use the same 3G bands, so an HTC HD7S should work if you can find one.
I have a hd7 on bell. If I can find a friend on Rogers I will try swapping the SIM cards and seeing if that works.
wonderful! thx guys appreciate it...

quick google/bing search shows both Bell and Rogers use 850/1900..so yes, long as it's unlocked it should work just dandy

I'm using an unlocked Bell HD7 on fido (rogers), and 3G works great!
ahh kool! thx for the info
