hello,
i have my diamond since 1 week.
It has german Vodafone branding:
ROM: 1.93.162.3 Ger
Radio: 1.00.25.03
HTC says, that battery livetime should have up to 280 hours in standby in GSM-mode.
I come up to 48-60 hours!
no manual started programs works into the background. (no GPS, no other programs are listed into taskmanager)
TF3D is deaktivated.
there are no connections aktivated! only phone.
Phone usage? In this time around 2-5 minutes on day. No data connections or other thinks!
After a day in standby the battery is down to 70%! Thats not normal!
Observationes:
If i take the stylus out from the Diamond, it wil switch on. This is a normal funktion.
But if i take the diamond out from the cover holder, it is switched on, so i can usage the Diamond as i has it manualy switched on? Normal?
On this day, i take the phone (into the cover holder) out from my jacket and the phone is warm, so as it workes some times. a look into the cover holder: Display is on but no "task" is running! How can it be????
Radio: very bad! Lost signals where my VPA compact II has a safty signal!
Phone settings GSM network to GSM by manualy and GSM/UMTS band to auto.
How can i perform the Diamond to become a very better battery lifetime?
only 60 hours lifetime by a manufacturers claim from up to 280 hours in Standby-mode are not enough lifetime! In my eyes is it a Deception of costumers.
Is there a Diamond user, there comes nearly 100 hours standby time or more?
(with usage the original battery)
greetings Frank

de:
Hallo Leute,
Also reiner Phone-Betrieb.
erste Erfolge - first successes
Hallo mathayus,

"up to 280 hours Standby in GSM" can be in theoretic.
by my WIZARD i have delete and deactivated some (background) programs. But i did it for a better memory performence. It also gives a better battery lifetime.
Now i have doing the same, how by the Wizard:
Hardreset. now reboot and after "welcome" comes a (mutatis mutandis)message: "in 3 secounds the device will be configurate". On this Message => reset for skip the following installations.
So not install TF3D and other (for me not needed applications).
For me is TF3D "nice" but not a "must have".
After this i install the powermanagement.cab
now after over 12 hours Standby inclusiv 3 allerts and 3 minutes of telefon usage the battery showes 100%!
(in last days before doing the hardreset the Battery was in the self time by 70-80%)
i will look, with for me not needed software/applications/funktions (that usage Energy) i can deactivated in the registry for even better battery lifetime.
i will message my successes here.
Greeting Frank
standby test with light usage after charging the original Diamond battery
nun über 24 Stunden / over 24 hours now (day #1): battery status => 100%
end of Day #2: 80% => with some more usage as the first day (more phone time)
end of day #3: 50% => 20 minutes telephon usage, 3 photos, 15-20 minutes Calculator and some other light tasks on this day.
I think, the battery capacity should be sufficient for the next 1 or 2 days (or longer by lighter usage as on this day?). I will observe and report...
When I think about the previous result of observation: My Diamond is need to recharge every 3 days or later by normal usage
OR 1...3 days by intensive use.
now ends the day #4: the Battery is down to 30% => This day use was almost like the day yesterday. But one day should be to go...
5 days without recharge by a light use? That is OK!
Or what do you mean?
Well, my test is finished.
4,5 days Standby with easy use
But now i don't know, what are the cause for my test result:
skip the setup by the first start after hardreset or first start of device
or install the powermanagment.cab
or both
Well, it is a big difference, whether i can use my Diamond one day or some days more...
The very high energy consumption of the Diamond must be some of background applications and some settings.
I think without all of applications the Diamond will have a very longer standby time. Then a standby time up to 280 hours can be realistic.
(only OS)
Flash to a newer radio.
The radio you stated on the first post is outdated.
Read this: LINK
OK, a newer radio brings some hours more, as i had won with my settings.
I will check the radio threads to find the best radio.
But a question:
flash a new radio only with HardSPL?
By the WIZARDs a radio also can flashed with SoftSPL

Honestly I have no clue what you need to flash radio. I have Hard SPL and thats what I use to flash. I guess that the way to go.
I believe the latest radios such as .05 and .08 do save some battery.
Another thing you could try is using Advanced Config by Schaps to disable auto attach to data network and the app also has some battery saving settings.
Give it a shot
Greetings
What i also observe:
Are the settings in "Settings > System > external GPS" set to "no COM" for software and hardware, my Diamons need 71 mA. (so as in my Standby test)
Are the settings for Software set to a COM port, my Diamond need 144 mA. But my GPS-Software is not running.
Disable the COM-port for GPS in "external GPS" if GPS is not needed is also a point to save energy.
is an interesting thing...
I`ll test this and if i find the same results i think we need to add it in the commmgr as GPS on/off ...
Can I know what software you used to show the power require (in mA), I may want to observe my battery consumption as well.
My TD can last mostly 3days with 3mins call and using calendar daily, it is still far aways from the manufacturer claimed 280hrs standby.
The software i use: PowerGuard v1.2
Ok. My results:
ROM: 1.93.871.1 WWE
Radio: 1.00.25.05
With TF3D, 3G mode
- 64mA at standby (with screen backlight 2nd level)
- 145mA at operation (start SMS)
Very interesting:

I will test these settings also. As of right now I turned of the GPS as stated by fraham.
I would also like to add that if im not mistaken, the Gsensor logs activity all the time, maybe finding a way to completely turn it of is also good battery save.
On the other hand are you guys using Advanced Config by Schaps? The app has various battery saving settings.
Greetings to all.
OK, i observe nearly the same results:
backlight to the second level, GMS => in Standby = 68/69 mA
if i start a application or i navigate between the menues, the mA goes up to/over 150 and fall down step by step nearly 73...85, if there are no inserts. new inserts = more mA.
What say it? There must be a build-in powermanagement software for the CPU.
Not all applications need the full CPU-speed to have a good performance. the most applications can also run with 50% CPU speed or lower. If there a way to set the CPU permanently to maximal 50 %, the energy consumption also reduce. But it was strictly needed to config some links as exeptions for some applications, there are need the full CPU-speed for get the best performence...
Did you play around with these settings?:
No! Tuning- and performance programs are not used in this time. only the powermanagment.cab
with the observed ascending and descending mA i got the reflecktion, that there must be a CPU powermanagement, thats variate the CPU speed (low speed = low mA, high speed = high mA)
It is only a theoretic reflection.
For the WIZARDs i know a program "battery status". There i can config also settings as the permanent CPU speed, over or down clocking for normal or use etc.
I mean, that there also be some link definitiones for applications, that need other settings, as the remaining applications.
But i don't know: work this program also on a Diamond?
But this program also need some energy for the controlls... Win i enough energy with this program? I'm not sure! (if it work on a Diamond)
Made a battery test this weekend, and i wanted to share with you.
Sunday 19:00 I disconnected the Diamond from the wall charger (the usb charging seems it doesn't do the job well... to be verified):
Tweaks:
- disabled TouchFlo 3D and also disabled auto-backlight (it's set on minimum btw).
- Phone -> Options -> Band -> GSM only (if you leave 3G/HSDPA on, you will noticed fast battery consumption)
So in this 24 hours I've made 2 calls, one was 5 minutes long the other 7 minutes, received 2 SMS's and that's it: Monday 19:00, battery stays at 75% (mind you that the phone was on during the 24 hours). It's almost 22:00 now, received another SMS, battery's at 72%.
Conclusions?
not bad for a 900mAH battery, considering VGA screen and 528 Mhz processor
*EDIT*
haven't made any other tweaks.. just the 2 mentioned above.
OK, how can i get up to 280 hours Standby time?
The condition must be: around 3 mA in Standby => 900 mAh : 280 Hours
280 standby hours : 24 hours = 11,6 days for Standby
is this realy to get?
if i look to my observation:
around 4,5 days lifetime => 900 mAh : (4,5 x 24 =) 108 hours = average 8,3 mA
average between standby and easy use (some phone time, 3 alarms per day and 3 times per day to use the calculator for 2 minutes)
With 74 mA it get around 12 hours (turn on, no app's are running)
3 mA if standby AND 71...74 mA if turn on AND over 120 mA if running processes ...
Is the Diamond made for Standby, but not for use?
But who will has a phone in order to not use it, because he will has a long Standby time?
The Battery is under dimensioned for a normal use in the normal HTC settings.
I think HtC claimed 280 hrs at Standby time. It does mean that in the idle state can last 280 hrs. Of course you will not buy a PDA phone for idling. So HTC is not cheating people on the 280 hrs.
It is just that if you design some product to be thin and nice, something need to be given way which is battery as in Diamond.
I think i'm going to give up complaining about bad battery as limit and minimize the usage are already defeat the purpose i bought a PDA phone! I'll just charge it frequently or get a spare battery or sell my diamond

Hello gentlemen,
I have the following problem. I have flashed the RomKitchen with a JS8 ROM.
Then everything was also great, as I then but the new kernel Speedmod K13D have flashed my battery indicator spins.
I then deleted my Batterystat last night after my battery was fully charged. Now, my phone but uses Whereas in accordance with no data content, 6%. Otherwise, there were always 2%.
The einezige what I've done in the time it was updated I AppMonster.
I ask for help. I turn yet because of the battery.
Can no body help?
It's probably just the battery stats that are inaccurate
Wait 2-3 recharge cycles and it should get way better
(It's best if you, at least over that time, discharge under 10% and charge fully)
Realy only this???

yea, probably, flashing can and does often mess up the battery stats. Some people recommend wiping the battery stats, but I don't think anyone can prove that that really helps so my advise is the given.
Once again in German since I suspect it's your native language. If not you can ignore it.
If you have further questions don't hesitate to ask
Yes German is my Languange.
Ok that i wait.
Thank you for your help. I have looked i sqaure Parts and found nothing.
I see at network :
Android System and it get red. What does this mean?
What Blue or red means?
Wow I guessed right, I'm like a mother****ing mind reader!
No idea. Interesting for you is probably the "partial wake usage" it shows what apps were running while the screen was off and therefore prevented the phone from sleeping. If there's any app that doesn't seem right, like a messaging app that goes berserk, you can try reconfigure that app or find an alternative.
-----------------------------
I really love writing in German^^
Thank you!!!
I have looked and find only Android System with 2min 50s
Is that good?
Hi I have now 59% Battery but Spare Parts show me that I have 3816mV
Is that correct?
can nobody tell me?
Hey Guys,
i use SS_KINGCobra Build 6, thanks samer for this rom!
But my BatteryLife isn't better than on other roms, it falls down from 89% to 20% in 12hours. I saw a picture where this rom lastet for 3days? I just saw it uses ltx kernen from lexmark. How can i configure him or is it already done. How can i get the Stock Kernel again? Didn't know that samers rom overflashes my kernel :/
Also a reboot costs me 4% of battery life :/ any ideas?
Otherwise, How can i improve my battery life
Also sometimes my phone crashes, i lock it, put it into my pocket put it out again and then its rebooting. But this failure don't happens everytime, it comes from time to time. I already had this problem, my stock battery was broken. So i bought a new one from HTC (Original Sensation Xl Battery) and now my phone is only charging till 89%. The first 2 weeks it was ok, but now the "crash" appears again.
Thangs in advance!
haendler
No one can help?
You can improve it bu dimming the screen, putting automatic sync off, turning 3g off, chanching cpu governor...
With mobile data on, and if you use the phone, you cant get 3days batterylife with any rom.
Hey AlluXX thank you for your response,
here is picture of my battery drain, it looks very strange. The break down to 0% are when the phone crashes and on that day it happend rlly often.
My phone is in daily use, nearly 24 hours in wlan. But at the moment the battery of the phone doesn't not even last till the evening (12-14hours). I'm kind of sad because samer said: "epicbattery", it's not epic at all. With other roms (fshami or stoanas) it lasted around 24 hours to be at 5% with the same usage.
Hopefully some1 can help me.
Thanks in advance.

if you're using the LTX kernel you can try to download the CPU Master Free and set the scaling to smartassV2. That's a better balance and can/will improve your battery.
I had also the issue that my phone crashed often for some reason with the stock HTC battery. I noticed that the battery is a little bit to small so it's moving when the phone is moving heavily. Squeeze your phone very softly and you could recognize that the battery isn't really fixed. That was the reason why my phone crashed. After that I replaced the battery with a Polarcell battery what is good fixed so I never had that issue, I guess. But now I'm using the Stock battery again but without any issues (I don't know why). I'm sure that it's a little bit too small 'cause sometimes I was not able to start it after a crash until I pushed the battery back in. Sorry that sound so stupid in english and your screenshot is in german, so: (Drück den Akku einfach mal rein, ohne dein Handy zu öffnen.
Let me know if I could help you
hey all,
thank you rachorid for your help! I downloaded CPU Master Free and now the performance of the Battery is good. At the moment its running since 14hours and i am at 58% left. Going to test it how long it'll last. But don't forget to set on master cpu free ("set on boot") else there won't be any results to your phone ^^.

yes but be careful this setting "set on boot" is dangerous, test all before flag it, you can get bootloop

Okay, didn't know that this is dangorous  | I setted scaling on smartassv2 and checked "set on boot". I also setted "Voltage" on "set on boot". Had no Problems with this settings. But i didn't changed same, i only use them
But there where still the Problem with the Reboot / crash of my phone and now i think i have figured out what the problem was:
Like Rachorid wrote the Battery could move <1mm in my SXL Case and that was the Problem, the contact didn't fit for 100%. With folded piece of paper. Maybe i could help some1 which has the same problem as i had.

I tested all the kernel settings, you can set on boot wbatever setting you want, no bootloop!
Well, you could get some random not-boots using BFQ scheduler, but i think i fixed that from what i remember.
Check my kernel thread for more infos about how to set your setrings for battery life and so on.
My recommandationa is using Conservative 149-1497, sio sched.

Hi there,
I'm both new to this forum and new to ZUK.
My name is Pascal, I'm 23 and I currently live in Germania.
I received my Z2 Pro on Monday and was shocked to see, that contrary to what is said about the battery life of this phone on the internet, be it reviews or user posts in forums, reddit, etc. my battery right off the bat.
I don't know if this is a hardware or software problem with my device, but while people tend to get 5h+ screen on time, I just sit here watching my phone drain 2% in idle. Not touching it, not doing anything.
You can imagine what that means, when I start a game and I'm on really low display brightness too, also no mobile data involved.
Over night the phone drains a whopping 18%, which is not acceptable, not for me personally and not for this phone: I know something must be fishy, Zuk hasn't that much history, but in the history it made it proved to make great handsets with superb battery life.
The phone is factory new, but the support told me that's nothing out of the ordinary with that battery drain, as it is really powerful hardware, but that's not what the internet says (about the battery) and certainly strong hardware doesn't mean, at all, idle battery drain of 2-3% an hour...What nonsense. No response at all would be more competent than this explanation...
I don't game much (yes, I know Pokémon Go is out and I REALLY would play it, but for that I need to fix my battery problem), I don't even do much with the phone, just surf the web, chat, talk (phones still do that, who would've thought) and occasionally watch a video, but mostly I just read.
I lurked this forum for years and as I try to find/fix my problem since Wednesday, but to no avail until now, I decided to sign up and test the finesse and know how xda proved to me time and time again with great apps and roms on myself.
I'm sorry that my first post here is such negative ranting, but I'm at my wits end and just want to be able to enjoy my ZUK and the battery life you all happy owners have.
I hope somebody can help me here.
If it's more comfortable I'm also available on some Messaging App.
Also speak German and Polish.
Thank you, if you made it this far and thank you in advance for your attention and help.
You will be paid in honest gratitude and, if you want, internet friendship.
Did you flash the stock ROM?
I infer from that answer that my experience is defo NOT normal?
No, I didn't flash anything. But I thought it is stock. Today it updated to ZUI 2 via OTA, so I thought maybe there's a fix but no.
Fully charged, Wifi on, screen brightness at about 70%, horrible results. Down to 79% in 2 hours.
31 minutes screen on time only. Nothing power consuming. Is it faulty?

maybe you got a defective unit. return it.
Huh...that's bad.
Got another mail from support now. They want the serial and IMEI. I wonder what for.
Also this plead might be too much, but maybe someone has the time for like testing his/her own fully charged phone with 20-30 minutes of a certain app maybe and tell me the consumed percentage. I'm fully aware and understand when this request is too much, as this is x time of someones life, so if noone does, that's okay
Was gone for an hour now, phone set on idle at home falling down 5%. I don't know what to do.
edit: later that day I charged it again fully. Turned off bluetooth for fun. Only wifi is on. Not three hours later it's on 88 %.

It sounds like you have the malware infected reseller ROM. If you had the stock Chinese ROM you wouldn't be able to OTA without a Chinese IP address.

If you have the official ROM you will not be able to OTA without a Chinese IP address. I know because I had to VPN to get the updates.
As a first step, you could check the battery stats to see if there is an obvious culprit. Also, by tapping the battery graph, you can get more detailed stats for e.g. "mobile network signal". If you are in an area of bad coverage, most phones will drain their battery much, much faster than somewhere with a strong and stable signal. Good luck!
Thank you for your reply and sorry for my late answer.
Do you have any app recommendation for a good battery check-up? I don't have Sim-Card in it yet, so the bad signal shouldn't be an issue, only wifi is used.
I thought I had official ROM too as it looks the same until I read these forums
If it has more languages than Chinese and English it is not official.
If programs like U-Health are missing it is not official.
Flash the latest real official rom...my battery is awesome.
@shaunydub: There is no other languages there.
U-Health is working.
I don't know. Now the System Update (which cannot update without chinese vpn) is keeping the phone alive and the battery is even worse. Factory resetted it yesterday.

Hi,
Can you provide a good link to flash it ?
I seem to have the same problem because the phone has a lot of languages, and moreover, there is some apps still in Chinese.
Maybe i should flash it to CyanogenMod because i want it in French.
Any help from everyone will be appreciated.
Lot of Thanks and Happy new Year to everyone

Any solution for this problem? I just got Zuk Z2 Pro from banggood, battery life is terrible compared to my zuk edge.. my Z2 Pro has 8 hours of standby and 30 minutes of SOT. And the battery temperature is hot under idle condition (about 37 -40C). I contact banggood for this problem, they said to try flashing the phone to official ZUI rom. But no luck..
I have the same issue with z2 plus. Battery drains so fast during non usage. And phone gets heated up.. with no reason. There must be some software bug. Because most of the other phones using the same hardware having the excellent battery life.
BG's custom ROMs are defective.
Flash ZUI 1.9 with QFIL (be sure to use the USB 2 ports at the back of your computer) to get back to stock and get access to OTA updates.
Hi everyone,
long time no action in this thread, but I have the same problem with my Z2 Pro and no solution yet. Is it confirmed that the problem is caused by a defective shop rom from Banggood? I also bought my device from them, but immediately unlocked bootloader, installed custom recovery and run RR. The problem never disappeared unfortunately, independent what RR version it runs, battery maximally lasts one day (normal usage, no gaming etc.) and loses ~20% in flight mode per night.
Very annoying, the device itself is great but this problem let me really think of replacing it. Was anybody able to turn such device into a normally working one? Does ZUI 1.9 flashing with OTA enabled solve it and I can then go back to RR?
Thanks & Regards,
Torsten
Hello guys, I've visited the forum occasionally (I'm just a simple user) and mostly it's been really helpful moments. Today I registered here because I have been having problems with my Huwaei Psmart-LX1 2019 for about 1 week. This device has delighted me every day since 2020 with its reliability and has become indispensable, so I am now appalled that, after the I loaded a new EMUI (the last one available) battery problems started. I really hope to find help here, because I can't believe that the battery, which was always very strong and lasted many hours, has reached the end of its life. Thank you very much....
Welcome to the forums!
I don't have this particular phone, but in general, it IS possible, that the battery has reached its limits after a few years (depending on the usage, which I don't know).
One thing I would try is to roll back to the previous version and see if the problem still persists.
Also, in the battery settings, did you check what app/process uses up the battery?

Yes, of course I tried to identify the cause, and although no app, apart from the operating system, shows high consumption, I uninstalled everything I could possibly spare, I reduced the light intensity at home, etc. I got the phone today tested these measures and taken with me on my daily rounds with my dog. At first it seemed to have gotten a little better, but basically the battery dies very quickly, my son said that the power controller could have broken.
I've already considered going back to Emui 10, but the problem is that I'm organizing some very important things with the phone that are difficult, if not impossible, to secure. So I'm still hesitating!
The power controller could have broken, but it would be an unlikely coincidence - unless you also tried some new charger, cable, etc at the same time.
Can you do a test for me tonight?
Before going to bed, charge the phone to at least 90%, then switch it to airplane mode. Leave it like that until the morning, then let me know how many percentages it dropped.
Hello, I'll get in touch today with the requested information. Yesterday at 11.30pm the phone was 100% charged, set to flight mode and disconnected from the charging source, the battery level is at 83% at 9am. Best regards
