hey guys, my friend bought me a diamond in canada which works on CDMA network, and where i live there is only GSM network...
is it possible to unlock it somehow?
if anyone knows please help me.
thanks.
Nope, not a snowball's chance in hell. CDMA phones don't use SIM cards, nor will they ever support the insertion of a SIM card, so it'd be useless on your network. Sorry.

You are partly wrong on this about not using SIM card at all. Yes, CDMA phone will never work on GSM unless, there's also a slot on the CDMA phone for SIM card, like some of those international phone sell by Verizon and sprint awhile ago. Now, there are some CDMA phone that are selling in China that actually use something similar to SIM card, called USIM. Hell, even the KDDI au from Japan use SIM card, and they are CDMA network too...
thank you guys that was helpfull

I'm almost positive that you should be able to pop in any sim card, pre- or post-paid, and it should work...
i just tested it with a nextel chip with a plan but no data service and i still get no bars??? i will try to put up some pics....please help if ya can...thanks
As far as I know Nextel doesn't use GSM networks it has it's own iDEN network, I don't know what the difference is, or if it should work with a GSM receiver but I can't say I'm surprised it doesn't work. Also from what I've heard, the phone has only received FCC certifications on T-Mob and AT&T for the phone you have, Verizon passed separately. Again, don't know if this helps, but I'm not shocked it doesn't work. Your phone is carrier unlocked, it came that way from HTC and unlocking the bootloader has nothing to do with which carriers it will work with.
no all i did was i bought it on a tmobile network through google then i had unlock the bootloader then rooted the phone now is there a way to use differ carriers??? i did not buy it unlocked......from google.....so is there a way ?

Dude... your question is moot! The phone, even if bought on a T-mobile line, IS NOT LOCKED TO ANY SPECIFIC CARRIER! You can pop in ANY GSM SIM CARD, and it will work. I bought mine on a T-mobile upgrade... but I can throw in an AT&T, Rogers, Fido, Vodaphone, etc., SIM, and it will work just fine.
o okay will try it out with att thanks...
Has anyone ever seen the one click unlock or the unlock codes to get this phone to use another companys sim card... Ive checked all over and cannot fund anthing please let me know
Which company that uses the same frequencies that Verizon does were you hoping to use your phone on?
I've never heard of a Verizon phone that you could unlock... Well, except maybe their quad-band "world phones". I've had Verizon for years and this is the first with a sim card. I'm not sure, but I think the sim is just for access to their lte "4g" network, wich is of course probably just different enough from atts lte to not be interchangeable there either.
The sim card gives access to the network in general. Without the Revo is useless. I tried to take out my sim to save battery and not use my 4G radio before I relieve I could turn it off. Also, for OP I don't think there is a way because of how the phone works. Then again, I'm not a dev so I could be completely wrong.
the sim card in the revo is just for the lte access and is phone dependent it will fry its self if put in a different phone. also just a quick side note i guess verizon is moving to sim cards too (from what i heard from an associate on the phone the other day).

Yes. The SIM card cannot be unlocked and this phone will never be able to be used on a different carrier.

1)Unlock the SIM card...
2)Change baseband from verizon to "x" carrier ? (not sure if the baseband is stored on the SIM card or not)
3)Insert carrier SIM card
4)Hope it works...
5)Go to you carriers store with your new phone and say "I told you so!"

In the olden days that question would be cut-and-dry based on the radio types in the phone, but now I'm not so sure (last I knew Sprints network was CDMA). So could I buy the Sprint HTC One and then put my AT&T SIM card in it and run it on AT&T?

Nope. Networks are different, at some point you might be able to get LTE working but even that won't work out of the box.

I dont believe the sprint phone has a sim slot

yes it does.
The Sprint HTC One does have a sim slot just as the AT&T model and international model.

LTE is a GSM technology so every cdma phone with LTE has a SIM card for that purpose.
Do some research before you tell someone the wrong thing

The Sprint HTC One has a GSM radio but Sprint has to unlock it and it will not work with US networks. It will only work internationally. So no, you can't use an AT&T SIM card in the Sprint One.
The Sprint HTC One sim card slot is located directly across from the volume rocker. The volume is on the right and sim slot is on the left. Use a sim tool or a paperclip and push the little hole and the tray is right there in front of you.
Since LTE is used for data only on at&t, even if you were able to unlock the sprint phone, you'd have no voice. Also there's the matter of at&t LTE frequencies vs sprint.
i have htc one from sprint in red and sim is close by pwr button around corner, try different sim and it not ask for pin or code it just say simlock enabled if slide down menu. how to make it work with gsm sim?
.....
ok after reading this forum get it work wit gsm network and local sim , in short I did unlock bootloader , root, unlock sim
I have a verizon htc one m7 running a custom rom. I'm currently in Japan and decided to get a data only sim card. Registering on the site was fine, but when I put the sim card in the phone says that it is a non verizon sim. I've put in all the APN info and I think everything should work but it isn't. I've been looking for a solution for quite a while now but with no luck.

You will need to get the device sim unlocked from the carrier.

I just spoke to a VZ rep and they said I didn't need to get it unlocked in order to use it.

If you put in a sim and it tells you it is not a Verizon aim then it is locked and they have no idea what they are talking about. Which I hate to say is not uncommon for customer service people.
Just tell them you need it unlocked to be able to use international SIM cards.
Verizon HTC one comes sim unlocked out of the box. You must change the network type to global. On most stock based ROMs, it is set to CDMA/LTE only by default.
You must also double check that the carrier you are using utilizes the frequencies that the Verizon one supports. Below is the GSM bands the Verizon one supports:
UMTS/HSPA 900/2100MHz,
GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900MHz
The verizon one does not support WCDMA or AWS LTE.
