Can someone throw me a bone where to find the CAB file for the HTC Data Backup utillity please. I think it was originally designed for Dell Axim and is included with some of the native kitchen roms but I want to install it on my T-Mobile unit and cannot find the utility on its own.
Thanks a lot for looking.
I've searched and I've asked and no one wants to help...Could someone please point me in the direction that I need to be in
Purpose
Sliding sounds
Games
and other applications..
Thanks
LOL
Are you really asking how to install a CAB file????? No wonder no one wants to help you..............
First transfer the CAB file to your phone/storage card(remember where you put the file, you will need to know to locate it on the phone).
Go to Start, Programs, and File Explorer.....Navigate to the folder you put the CAB file into and OPEN it, once opened it will automatically start installing.
I am assuming based on your question that its probably gonna ask you if you really want to install because it might not be a trusted certificate just click YES
Now its going to ask you where to install to.....option 1 the DEVICE.........option 2...........Storage Card(if you don't have a storage card then obviously there will be no options and it will just install)
Last, If you can't perform any of the above steps PLEASE don't even try OR attempt anything on this forum. Thread should be closed.
lol..kobe u went in too much detail trying to explain that..
man you have some patience..nice
i would have just said run the cab file from your phone..lol
Smoka PM me i'll make a video and send it to you so you can see how it's done.
No offense, but I'm a Noob on this forum and I know how to install a cab. BTW, I'm a girl.
Redundant thread alert ***
Why would you start another thread asking the same question when you got more than an answer in your original thread....

Send me your phone and I'll install it for you....
Lol chapman. Play nice. I was trying to help the super noob.
Hi all.
How can I install .exe packed software (like Adobe Reader and others) over
Windows Mobile 6.1 of HTC TyTn II Kaiser ?
On it (wm6) there isn't an [execute program] functionality or an [install program] one.
TIA

1. Copy the .exe file to your PC.
2. Connect your TytnII to your PC using the USB cable.
3. Ensure ActiveSync is running & has connected the mob phone.
4. Double-click the .exe file & follow the instructions.

Ummm...It would be far better if you posted the right side up. We do not use our pc's upside down. I am sure that a Mod will talk to you about this.
And if you cannot or do not want to help another forumite, then search Google or search the forum on how to be polite and stop wasting bandwidth.
Where do I find ActiveSync software ?!
Thanks, tytnrolz.
I bought my Kaiser without the CD from factor nor operator.
There is an .iso file from this CD on the net ?
BTW, I need to run ActiveSync on PC and point the installation software to TyTN?
TIA
MN
Are you using Windows XP or Windows Vista?
If XP - download ActiveSync 4.5.
If Vista - download Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1.
Also, you only need to install it on your computer. The only things that you would be missing from the CD is a trial version of Microsoft Outlook and ActiveSync (which I provided download links for from Microsoft). Therefore I wouldn't waste my time in looking for it. You probably won't find it

Way to have a sense of humor boys and girls, I thought it was funny imagining everyone trying to turn their heads upside down to read it.
And he was right, a search would have provided answers.

Hello,
I am very new to this, so please dont mind if my question seems to be silly.
I tried to install an exe file as you have told above. but the application is getting installed only in PC and not in phone. COuld you please guide me?
You can look for a .cab better and installed directly in your phone though

Chances are that it is not a PPc application. Copy it to your phone, if it is a PPC app it should install on your phone.

I see your was asked in your last thread about battery, you should not post questions in development section. It took 1 minute using the search function in this forum to find your answer to where that file is.
Hopefully this information will make you stop posting these questions in this section, Using Root Explorer or a comparable program navigate to (Mount R/W first): data>system> you will find and be able to delete file batterystats.bin or you can use Rom Manager and boot into clockwork recovery mod go to advanced and there is an option to wipe battery stats. Then you will need to cycle your battery a couple time to get it to show correctly.
Yeah but you know none of these options have worked and neither of the have shown it. I am know thinking that it is a problem with the way I flashed it or a problem with my phones Tom so that's why I posted it in the android development section. You know people like you make us wonder why people aren't nice any more
Questions go in Q&A.

And people like you make us wonder why there isn't a test to get posting rights on the forum. This does not belong in Development.

Astro will not work, you need root access. Download root explorer and go to the root directory. Data-> System -> Batterybins.bin
just delete it from there.
For future notice, a Google search can avoid all this. Thats what i did when I had this same exact problem.

A google search brought me to this thread (first link). Thought that was kind of funny.
And how is this relevant to the thread?
I can't seem to get my fire stick to dump to my computer, only to the stick itself. I need to dump it to my computer so I can restore my settings to another stick or to a fire box.
All the YouTube videos I've seen or threads I've read have Kodi on their computers, or the info is just too confusing to make this happen. Please direct me how to do this. Please?
Thanks in advance.

Wrong Forum... http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-tv/general
nevertheless...
Use adb. Look up the commands.
adb pull...
adb push...
However, it would be a lot easier to use "ES File explorer" for APK install and file manager, which can be installed from Amazon Store
Thanks man! Do I install ES Explorer on both the stick and my PC? Which files on the stick to I save to my PC and overwrite on the new device?
Thanks for your help.

I thought I was in the correct forum area. I was told my post was moved to the correct area...hence why I just hit reply.
Someone want to tell or direct me?
I thought 'Fire Q&A help and trouble shooting' would be what I'm asking about...
