Hello,
I noticed that some cooked Diamond ROMs contain an "HTC Diamond USB Mass Storage".. This one, for instance:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=367375
..and some cooked ROMs have links to the optional HTC and/or carrier add-on components in CAB form, so I know it is possible..
Is there an extracted cab available for this, and more importantly, would it work with an AT&T 8925/Tilt/TyTN-II running Dutty's WM6.1? I'm willing to test this out if the driver can possibly be extracted and CABbed into a standalone installer!
Anything would be appreciated! I can't get WM5torage to work properly (locks up the phone) and I want to avoid CardExport if I can possibly get the first-party HTC driver to work.
If nobody can help, then I will have no choice but to try hacking it out of a cooked ROM myself. If successful, I'll put it back into the community! If anyone else has tried this and determined that it's not possible, please let me know so I don't waste my time trying.
I have already searched the forums and Google, with no useful results other than links to the cooked ROMs.

Looking For The Same

I have this cab and I'm not sure what it does or if I need it on my pda2k after the 1.40 rom upgrade.
I also have pp2arm.cab. Any thoughts here?
Lastly, is there a way to play Shoutcast (music streaming) on my pda2k? If so, how. I connected to my wifi, went to shoutcast.com, and tried to play a stream but couldn't. I'm not sure if this is something that is possible.
Thanks,
Tom

If you dont know what a cab does then open it, have a look at it, check the reg settings that it gives you.
For this you need Wincab manager, other applications are around as well and you will find them on wiki, in the kitchen under kitchen tools.
The other option is on wiki (were else) have a look at the avliable roms, in the ERK_XXX you will find a link to a doc of that rom and what the cabs do (it has screen shots of wincab maneger and the exported reg entries). For most of the roms that is, the cook got bored of the work and got sloppy. Dont ask me which cooked version it was, its been a long time.
Album_EnableStreaming.cab seems to date back a while:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=ERK_X_106117
But, since the keys it creates are not created on their own in the new 1.40.xxx Extended roms, perhaps it does indeed still have some use.
someone know a rom version like is in this video for HTC P3600? thanks

Hi Marius -
You are looking at two different pieces of software on that phone.
The first one is the HTC Home screen for the TyTNII, which HAS been copied over to the Trinity. You can tell if that is the home screen used in the ROM because it will usually be shown as HTC Home Kaiser or something similar. You can also install this using a standalone CAB file. Search the board to find the cab, it's in the Trinity WM6 portion of the board.
The second one is a piece of software called Touchflo. The real Touchflo software requires that the touchscreen hardware be the same as the Kaiser or the HTC Touch. Those two phones use different touchscreen hardware (physical chips and the digitizer screen) than the Trinity. So, no one has been successful using the real Touchflo software on the Trinity, and probably never will.
However, there have been some attempts to get the same functions from other software. I've seen something called alphatouchflo, and there are other packages. Note that they do not have all of the same functionality. For example, I haven't seen any of them that could allow use f the scrolling feature to replace sidebar scrolling. I've only seen good scrolling of a third-party contacts list (see PocketCM as an example). This software is also available in a standalone CAB file if you like.
There is a thread devoted explicitly to using Touch Flo on the Trinity in the WM 6 section. If you take a minute or two you can easily find it.
Good luck!
Mike

Hi Marius -
The other devices that use Touchflo have different hardware which is why the Touchflo works for them. The device shown in the video is the HTC Prophet series, which uses the same touch screen as the Kaiser/TyTN II (which is different form the Trinity). You will not find any software or ROMs that can run the Touchflo software on the Trinity. As far as CAB software compared to a ROM, the only difference is in the method of installing. It doesn't matter if you install the software using a CAB file or if it is already included in a ROM, except that you can remove software installed using a CAB if you don't like it.
I suggest you continue watching the thread about Touchflo on the Trinity in the WM6 folder. That thread contains the most current information about using Touchflo on the Trinity.

ok.. thanks for informations
Anyone know of an HTC Random Access CAB that works well AND is uninstallable?
The only ones I found so far did not properly uninstall.
Thanks in advance,
Michael
they all should work fine, where'd you find yours?
I found it here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/69445758/Random_Access.cab
Now, in the same thread, others mentioned having the same issue.
strange, never had issues with stock roms or cooked roms, must be tied in with something else
It happens.....sometimes people just explode
Cheers!
Michael
keep tryin other cabs you'll find in the kaiser forum, could always find a rom based on what you want and dont want and flash away
Hi all, I dont mean to sound like a cry baby, but I just want to know if there are any patches or fixes for Nav4all.
I'm using Nav4All, as I'm travelling a lot to different countries, and to buy GPS software is just a waste in my oppinion.
I have tried most of thje cooked roms available, and I only 10% of those ones support Nav4all, apart from the original HTC roms.
Has anyone come up for a fix, because I reacon whenever someone cooks a rom they remove something thats required for Nav4all, as Nav4all runs perfectly on Original released roms, and I dont like HTC's original roms, I prefer these cooked roms
So if any fixes are available please let me know.
nav4all won't work with most cooked roms
I'm in exactly the same position with a cooked rom that doesn't work with nav4all.
Any answers to Gozzy's question? Gozzy, could you identify one or more decent cooked roms that will work?
Cheers,
Nick
have you tryed to disable AGPS before launch it???
Have you tried posting this is the correct section?
I moved it for you.
Thanks for the idea utopykzebulon but I've already tried setting
HKLM\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS\EnableAGPS to 0
I've also tried
HKLM\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS\GPSMode
at both 1 and 2
JimmyMcGee - thanks for the move - not sure where it should be as this appears to be ROM dependent - nav4all will work with original htc roms so I'm not going to get very far with nav4all support.
Thanks,
Nick
Where are you getting hung up exactly? The interface is confusing to say the least, but while it is glacially slow at locking on, I have no problem using it with Athine's light ROM. I did have to manually load esmertec jbed, but that's hardly a problem.
Oh, one thing that did help: I went through the GPS setup and had it search for the internal GPS - com4 was really crappy, so I switched to "gps0" port and things improved. Once you do that, do *not* then select "internal gps," as this will undo what you just did....just select "bacl" and go about gps-ey goodness.
Better than TOMTOM: uh, no. Better than nothing: most definately.
So, I searched around here, and couldn't find any information on this...
Anyway, I don't like the TouchFlo very much... There's just too much going on at once. I prefer the good old HTC Home... But, when I install the version I have, it doesn't work.
Now I've read on a couple other sites that I might need the VGA version, can anyone confirm this, and if they can, where can I find a copy?
Thanks in advance!
Make sure you disable TouchFLO, and go here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351553
I just for fun tried that HTC VGA above, and it didn't work too well. Search for HTC home2 and it'll look good on the fuze. That's what I use. HHC works with it, also, although the examples are small.
Edit: finally figured KD8NS' post out above--You don't have to disable touchflo, like just posted, it's TouchFloF3D that you need to disable. Better yet, just use Da_G's ROM, and TF3D won't be there at all!!!
could you link to the file pls?
Fuze Full Qwerty virtual keyboard stuck on numbers
I've installed the NATF's v2.3 rom on my HTC fuze and now my full qwerty virtual keyboard is stuck on numbers. I've tried tapping the ABC button but nothing happens. Does anyone know a fix for this. I've heard there is a cab fix but I'm unable to find that specific cab file
Wrong palce to ask but here you go.
