I'm hoping someone here can help. I've searched to the point where my eyes were glazing over, and didn't manage to find a solution to the problem I'm having, so here goes (it's more an annoyance than an earth-shattering problem, but one I'd love to sort).
I had a game installed (Bitforge Runes) on my TyTn II, which I've tried to uninstall. Despite the uninstall process apparently going through Ok, the app is still listed in the 'Remove Programs' list.
The program directory on the storage card has gone, as has any trace of related files on the device itself. Also, searching the registry for either 'Bitforge' or 'Runes' finds nothing.
Despite this, the game is still listed in 'Remove Programs'. Trying to remove it gives the usual message stating that the program could not be removed, and offering to simply remove it from the list. Selecting 'Yes' at this prompt also appears to go through Ok, but on looking through the list, the app is still listed.
Any idea where I can go to remove this from the 'Remove Programs' list?
Thanks guys.

I've got the same problem with some programs. They are (partially) removed from my device, but still appear in my program list. They don't show op in SKTools and i can't find any trace of the programs on my device or registry. It's not a problem. More annoying. I like a clean rom.
Some of those programs aren't entirely removed from my device. I can see that in my free storage memory.
Any ideas?
Can't remove program
I also have this issue. I have tried everything to remove TCPMP. I even went into the registry and searched and deleted all references to TCPMP. My final search came back empty.
Remove programs list still includes TCPMP.
The reason for wanting to remove TCPMP....It does not work!!! I keep getting a crash.txt message.
*** Bump ***
Anybody have any thoughts on this one, or am I flogging the proverbial expired equine?

I'd be grateful if anyone could offer any help with this issue.
I have an O2 branded version of the Kaiser. I have installed various of the cabs for HTC software available on this forum - which is excellent, by the way - and was very glad to find an "X" button solution.
Unfortunately, the device then started to crash whenever I closed a program for the first time and had to soft reset. I got a message saying that there was a problem with the shell.
As it stopped when I uninstalled HTC X Button, I am 99% certain that it was source of my problem. O2 stick a program manager in the system bar. It does not add X button functionality, but it does allow manual closure of a program. It does not appear ion any program list, and cannot be removed or closed itself, so I assume that it is part of the rom (not that I am an expert!)
Can anyone confirm this problem, and/or suggest a (preferably freely available) X button program that does not cause any issues? Alternatively, can the (fairly useless) O2 program be removed or closed without replacing the rom?
you are probably correct that the 2 apps are causing the issue. Have you looked in the \windows\startup folder for the O2 app? Also, there is a registry entry called INIT that does startup of services for the device. I can't remember right now where it's located in the registry. Let me know if you find anything in the startup folder and if not, I'll look up the key for you.
There is a file called O2 Custom in the Startup folder which has the same icon as the manager program I want rid of, but it is only 21b in size, so I assume that it is a shortcut.
Thanks for the suggestion. I would be grateful for some guidance on thew registry, since I am too inexperienced with this stuff to go poking around without very specific instructions!

that startup is probably it. you can try to cut&paste the shortcut to your 'my documents' folder, then reboot, then see if that o2 app is started after reboot. if not, then you found the solution.
I wonder if we are able to do a "corporate" install after hard reset like I used to be able to do with my Universal so it doesn't load all the 02 rubbish
Works like a charm, thanks smittyofdhs. The o2 program manager is gone, and HTC XButton 1.51 has not caused any soft resets so far.
You know, I feel really stupid not realising that removing the shortcut from startup would have done the job. I would have done the equivalent on my desktop or laptop without even thinking about it.
HTC has a new version of their Task Manager (V2.0) that can be found pretty easily by searching this website. The only problem I have with HTC's Task Manager(s) is that while the "X" functionality works in every application, the Task Manager feature seems to work only on the Today screen. Therefore, I have found WkTask to be a very good free task manager which also combines a program launcher.
I have looked and looked and i cant seem to find any information pertaining to my issue. I have a stock tilt with the HTC Home plugin, HTC Album, Kaiser Tweak, Shogunmark wm6 threader, and Arcsoft MMS enable and composer.
Now on to the problem. I will be texting through the shogunmark program or just messing around on the phone, nothing specific, and i will get a little box that says out of memory: please close some windows and try again. When i look in the AT&T task manager all it says is open is the messaging program and activesync (even though it is not hooked to my computer at all).
Any ideas or suggestions or ways to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Have you checked your device memory? It could possibly be quite low because you’ve installed far too many applications on your device memory, and not on your storage card (if you even have a storage card?)
Sometimes, temporary/unnecessary files end up installed and duplicated on your device memory. If you don’t need them, delete them. Applications like SKtools can also help you free up much needed space by deleting unnecessary files.
Is there a specific place to obtain SKTools? I searched and all i saw was someone else mentioning it, not a link or anything.
your problem is with the SMS threader you have. I'd love to search for you but I havent got the time right now. I personally posted a fix in another thread and I have seen the fix in other threads as well. It's out there, go get it.
http://s-k-tools.com/index.html?sktools/m_feat.html Even without the programme, click on ‘start’ then ‘settings’ then ‘system’ and then ‘memory’. You’ll be able to see both your storage and program memory.
To give you an idea, my storage memory is 92.75MB and my programme memory is 61.65 MB. If you’re memory is very low, then this could be the programme. This can be easily fixed by clicking on ‘file explorer’ then ‘my device’ and sifting through your programmes and deleting any uneeded programmes.
SK tools is meant to be pretty good as well, but it costs about $17. I’ve always deleted uneeded programmes manually by myself too.
But it looks like Grizzley has suggested a likely problem with your SMS. Maybe this could be the problem too...?
OK, so it seems that just about every time i want to uninstall/upgrade a program on my tilt (not cracked, only bypassed the att crapification...er, customization).
what happens is, certain programs (most recently cetwit) will not fully uninstall when i goto remove them from remove programs. it says this and asks if i wish to remove the program from the list of installed programs, and i usually say yes. that program is still listed when i goto start/programs, and the program files are still safe and secure in the program files folder through file explorer.
the worst part is, when i try to reinstall/install an updated version, it shows two icons in my programs list, which is very frustrating...enough so that it causes me to hard reset and reinstall everything over again. i've run registry and junk file cleaners to no avail.
is there any way to COMPLETELY remove a program in this situation, or am i required to hard reset each time it happens?
maybe here i will also ask for a good registry cleaner that knows what to kill and what to leave...
sktools wiped out some important things, had to hard reset and start over because even my backup app couldnt fully recover.
Get a file explorer, delete the program's folder in Program files, delete the shortcut in the start menu and most of it is done. You can then use a reg cleaner to remove the last remains in the registry.
That has happened to me with a couple of programs, I'd blame the programs rather than WM.
I have a similar issue. I've removed the program folders, shortcuts, registry entries, etc. but the programs still appear in the remove programs list under settings / system. Although it's not causing me any problems per se it is really annoying. If anyone knows how to fix it I'd love to know.
on pc's the list in add/remove
is
located in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
would asume that they are stored in reg on pda's too
I've had that happen a few times also, what usually fixed it besides manually deleting the folders and shortcuts, is to remove it in add/remove programs in activesync. Just check the box that says to delete from handheld and desktop.
I've tried that - using AS to remove the applications - but it still doesn't work. They all show up with a size of 0.0K but removing the tick in the box and selecting the remove from both device and computer option does nothing - they still show up in the list on both devices.
I have uninstalled programs and still have them in my add remove program list how do I remove them?
Is it in the registry i have tried everything and no luck thanks.

what program exactly, because I believe that some of them have this problem
programs
MAME CE3 and Concrete software bowling, i have uninstalled them no problem but it wont remove the from the add remove list and i dont know how to, thanks.
In similar cases, I use SKTools, an excellent program.
Here is the link http://s-k-tools.com/index.html?sktools/m_feat.html
I want to know why certain programs don't uninstall 100% even when it was installed and uninstalled correctly meaning the name still shows in the list as installed and there's no file traces left.
I have installed the SK Tools, but I cant seem to find how to do it, any instruction or fixes pls, thanks
In the registry, HKLM\Software\Apps if I remember well.
nope, apps still showing in "remove programs list" even though they were uninstalled like anything else

Before starting, I would recommend a backup, just in case.
On the main SKT opening screen, go to
- left soft key "Category"
- select "Maintenance"
- select "Installed Programs"
- after a short search, SKT displays the list of all your installed apps
- when you point your stylus on the app you want to completely delete, you will see all its installed components in the lower half of the screen (a good thing at this point is to make a screen capture so in the worst case you can manually delete the remains, but normally it shouldn't be necessary, SKT usually doing a better removal job than the default remover)
- make sure that all boxes are unchecked, except the one you want to delete, and then go to left soft key "Action" and select "Uninstall marked".
I always just go into File Explorer/Windows/Start Menu/Programs
Then remove broken links from there.
He means removing the entries from the add/remove programs panel, not the start menu.
Tried this and no go any other ideas guys, the sk tools might be ok if i had programs installed, i might install them again and then uninstall via sktools see how that goes. any other ides.
sktools can remove it, but it is always on uninstall list!!

I have found the solution to the various posts listed on not being able to get rid of an uninstalled prog in the remove progs window. Using MemMaid 2.3 go jump to/databases/database usage, highlight SwMgmtMetadataStore and click browse, highlight offending entry and delete it. Then do and soft reset and you will find that the prog is no longer in the remove prog window. Hope this helps.
Hi all,
My P4350 is showing the Notification Error for every now and then. It says "Cannot execute\Application Data\Volatile\pockeplayer wakeup.exe"
The Conduit Pocket Player had no problem. Once my friend took the phone to listen to the music. After the phone came back to me this error is appearing.
I uninstalled the application. But, still the notification persists.!!!
Help me.
Hi all,
I uninstalled the application and reinstalled. But, the error still pops-up every now and then.
There is nothing in that path, which the error notification shows.
Is this a virus? Do I have to change any registry?
Please help me.
Any solution?
Hi,
I may sound that I am in hurry to get a solution ofr the problem.
In mean time, I renamed the S2U2 as pocketplayerwakeup.exe and saved that into \Application Data\Volatile\
May sound crazy!!!!!!
So that, if the phone wants to do something, let it lock the keys. So, now I am not getting the Error message.
But, still is there any solution for this?
error again
The error appeared again on today. i was surprised to see that, the duplicate copy what I created was not there. Don't know how that file was deleted. I again created the file.
Is there a solution to this? (Apart from flashing the ROM).
Whenever I connect the phone to computer, it is deleting the duplicate file what I created.
So, whenever I unplug it from computer, I again start getting the same error notification.
It looks like some background services tried to execute that path. Here is my appoarch, but be caution, if you are not familiar with the registry, please make a backup before editing anything.
First check if no "weird" stuffs is in the "\windows\startup" folder, then check if that path or file is refered to in the \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Init and \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services of the Registry and delete them. If still nothting there, make a complete search of the registry to see any reference to that file and delete it (it's ok since you already uninstall the program). Hope this help.
I am even more dumb when it comes to registry. (I can modify something if the name of the particular key is given.)
I could find the follwing thing in Windows/Startup
Capnotify.lnk
poutlook.lnk
WifInit.lnk
sddaemon.lnk
iLock2.lnk
WkTASK.lnk
GPRSNotify.LNK
Among these I don't know what does Capnotify.lnk and sddaemon.lnk do. I don't even know how to find the registry key which it referes to.

Try PHM Registry editor. Do a search with "pocketplayer" or "wakeup.exe".
No success
I finally installed PHM registry editor. But, did not find anything for wakeup.exe
What to do?
