Hello,
Is there a way to make a media player to play whole mp3 file? Right now it skips last 2 seconds. It might be not noticeable for the music but audio books sound creepy.
Thanks.

I've noticed this in the past, as I listen to gapless MP3s. I gave up on Windows Media Player and started using GSPlayer which imo is a much better player anyway.
But using "standard" player (from the FLO) is much easier.
I cannot believe there is not a simple solution for that!

Is there any Developer working in a new audio player, with a lot of new features including just play songs from the folder you select.
I use my g1 on my car alot and the stock audio players sucks!
for example I can't play songs from a specific folder, the player takes all the songs from the g1 sdcard. the shuffle option don't work right I have about 1500 songs and it playes the sames songs when on shuffle etc.
I'm desperate for a new audio players with good features, specific to use the g1 as a real mp3 player, and for car mp3 play use.
TuneWiki perhaps?
^^^ I hate tune wiki. It never displays the right album artwork.
Hey there! Not trying to hijack your thread, but I got a quick question...I noticed that you said you use your G1 in the car. I have Ford Sync and I have heard the music/navigation broadcast over the speakers, but only when I was actually on a call. How are you connecting? Bluetooth doesn't work and I've also tried using the usb cable.
I also second your "request" for a new music player. The G1 is lacking in the music/video department. My boyfried has an iPhone and I just can't argue when it comes to the media part of the phone...my only argument is having to use iTunes.
Perrosky, have you tried aPlayer?
I'll agree with you on those points. I have a lot of poorly-tagged music and just being able to browse by folder/file would be helpful. Shuffling a folder would be nice as well.
I ended up creating a ton of playlists to accomplish this with the current players. Tunewiki is a step up from the bundled player, but it is still quite lacking.
Some other features I'd like to see:
1. Audio controls like EQ, Balance, etc.
2. Bookmarking. If I'm 15 minutes into a 30 minute audiobook track I'd really prefer to not have to remember where I left off when I start listening again.
I'm sure it is only a matter of time before somebody ports an open source audio player to Android. If they can do it for Rockbox, they can do it for android...

Funny it does for me. Best player out there right now. Coreplayer should be coming out with one soon for android.

AMEN! I Have been searching for a media player that could do that.
That is the ONLY thing I miss about my windows mobile phone is the windows media player!
I hope coreplayer can do this. Almost 80% of my songs are poorly tagged (ID3) and being able to play an entire folder would be perfect!
Do we have a video player for android? Its disappointing that there is not ONE decent video player for the Android.
theres a default video player with the phone framework. if you have astro file explorer or similar, you find your video on your sdcard and it will play great in a default player. theres also meridian player. if you update to JacHeroski the HTC video player in that ROM is awesome!
with LukLuk you can stream movies online, i think it will play videos off your sdcard too. I havent tried playing anything off the sdcard yet though...
Cinema has a great interface, Meridian works well also (though one of the last updates it messed with my stock music player when I set it not to be the default for the headset buttons, and it's idea of random music playback is a joke - it makes a single shot randomly sorted playlist - instead of randomly selecting upon skipping tracks).. So, I am sticking with Cinema now.
Windows media player seems to be really crappy to use and slow.. and nice smooth interface thats very popular for playing music?
I use pocket player. It does everything I need, sound quality is good and it has a great library.
Disadvantage: It's not freeware.
Nitrogen - free, cool .. but has some minor bugs .. occasional stutter and some mp3 can't be played. But hey, it's rather young project.
CorePlayer - not free, not as good controls, but usable, and has best audio quality (I mean NO stutters ever, if you check 'higher priority for audio').
And on Xperia you have media panel. It works. But I play songs by folders, not by albums or playlist, so no joy for me.
try s2p with s2u2 (just disable all the autolock stuff).. I love it just because it turns itself on when plugin headphones or connecting a stereo bluetooth device and it stop she music and closes when you remove them.. Sound quality is similar to wmp bc it uses its engine (though i gotta say its ok) To me, this is the most convenient music player (it does playlists too)
however, i've been pushed by a friend to try core player (i don;t if i got it right..) He told me that was the best player he tried so far.. then again, he has a raphael... so dunno...
for convenience, i like s2p (mainly if your lazy or dont want to hunt down for the player and kill it later )
core player as the x panel had a lot of issues playing acc files
Hi, Do you want an audio player or Vedio player?
If you need the first one, Pocket Player will be better.
Coreplayer is good for vedio, but only WMP could work with X.264 code.

If you need the Audio Player, Pocket Music Player will be better.
Pocket Music Player supports X-Bass and Preamp. X-Bass + Some Custom EQ + Preamp made very good sound.
I recommand you Pocket Music Player.
What is the best media player that player audio and video. I was use to coreplayer on Windows mobile. Thanks

I use Mortplayer Music with the Mortplayer widget ... it's pretty good but the buttons on the widget can be a bit hard to touch if you have the phone mounted while driving.
What don't you like about the music and video players that come with the phone? Just curious.
I like the HTC music player. The best thing is the media controls are available on the lock screen, like iPod Touch. My only problem is it does not support WMA since most of my music collection is in WMA format.
I just got a Lumia 920 and I absolutely hate the music players they have on it. The Nokia app is only a little better than the stock Xbox music app. For one thing, you can't specify where to look for your music, so it adds any MP3 file on the phone to your music list, which makes doing shuffle a pain. And for some reason, it is impossible to get a playlist on the phone unless all the songs are in the same folder. Anyone know a decent music player, or at least a way to get a good playlist on the phone? I tried using Mediaplayer from the pc and no luck.
Thanks for any help!
yeah and i cannot see all songs now playing (album tracks), only one. I cannot see how many songs in album remains and cannot select another. It sucks
I have found really nice alternative music player. It is simple, but usefull: Album flow

Disagree totally. On my Nokia Lumia the player is pretty nice, does what it's supposed to. Has an equalizer with presets and manual, suggests Nokia MixRadio channels where locally played music can be found (great to find other good music) and shows background images of the playing band from the net. It's actually a very nice player.

Just if you compare it to a stone. if you compare it to a decent music player it sucks. but in regards of your other postings i sense you dont care about the rest anyways
I ended up dumping my 920 and going back to Android on a Samsung S3, and much happier now. Not just for the music player (though PowerAmp is awesome!), but for the horrendous lack of basic features. Too bad, I really wanted to like my Windows phone.
I also don't care for the music player apps available on the Lumia 920. I keep hoping for a Rockbox port - mostly because it supports all the codecs I have.
Great alternative for music player on wp

I play mostly local music stored on my phone. And for those uses musictastic is by far the best player I have found. Its free, reads playlists I create on my desktop from windows media player, looks great, shuffle fun too works as it should, and displays album art correctly. Definetly worth a try.
