I dont want to let you down, but there is NO versions of WINDOWS VISTA available for BA and all PPCs, at least for this moment. The reason getting you confused may be the themes/skin created by Wisbar Advance. Do you know this wonderful software for our PPC World?
Vista...
Open your tomtom soft type "Vista" then search,
may you find...
What about Vista...
can you tell something?
is that skin?
is that Mobile Operating System?
Is that interface theme software plugin or program ? such as 'Wisbar'
Or what?
If you want MS Windows Vista...
Goto wwwdotmicrosoftdotcom
I don't fun with you that's true.
But here you can ask about only Windows mobile based systems,
I think that must be...
thx.
Why do all of these people think that vista is for pocket pcs? I've already had to explain it to one guy.

GPS in Vista

hi all, I've just done the full on upgrade to functioning GPS, I can see from the GPS tool that it is working, Google maps is messing me about and refusing to download and install so I went to vista, I have autoroute 2007 but I can't get it to hook to the GPS, can someone out there point me in the right direction.
I can Sync with the WM side, I can browse it, but for the life of me I have no idea how to hook to the com port.
please help and keep up all the good work

Buy Franson's GPSGate for Vista and WinMo (costs you about $49). Install GPSGatePPC and GPSGate on WinMo and Vista. Configure GPSGatePPC on WinMo side to work on ActiveSync. Then Configure on Vista Side to recognize GPS on ActiveSync. Now ActiveSync using USBTool and run AutoRoute.
Thanks
Ram
so theres no way yet of doing it without buying software? I'll struggle on to find a way of getting google maps onto the WM side. and wait for a free option.

You have to liberate the shift to be able to install cab's like google maps... even with rom upgrade you still have to liberate the shift...
I used thaihugo's package, which is already liberated, it just seems not to complete the download, I've tried it on my phone and thats not playing either, there seems to be no way to get the cab from a pc either which is a pain in the backside.
I'll keep digging.

Hi Dammo
Did you update the registry setting to allow Shift to install cab files on WinMo side?
If not read the second page on thaihugo's ROM thread. This will allow you to install cabs.
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\cabfile\Shell\Open\Command and its value should be wceload.exe "%1" /nodelete
Please notice the space before and after quotes.
thanks
Ram
ok, so call me dummy, thank you.
That's why I told you to liberate. If you do MODACO procedure you don't have to mess with registry
It's a whole lot easier to just change one registry value with the tools already provided, than to go through the whole liberation procedure.

I know that but for unexperienced users I think it's easier, because for installing the ROM they had to liberate it before.

How to make the connection between Laptop and Wizard-GPRS to browse the internet

Hello there !
I would like to accomplish the following:
- VPA Compact 2 WM-5 with German E-Plus SimCard, giving me an excellent GPRS/Edge internet connection on the mobile phone.
Is it possible, by connecting my Laptop with the HTC Wizard, to use the mobile phone GPRS connection to browse the web with my laptop `?
Does anybody know/have an exact tutorial for a little dumb as I am ?
Thanks in advance !
Internet Sharing
There should be an application in the programs folder called Internet Sharing. As long as the laptop has been setup previously with active sync the internet Sharing program will give your laptop access to the internet. It has worked on every XP system that I have tried but I have not used it on a Vista machine.

Sorry, but on my WM device there is no such program... I guess it is an older WM5 version.
Any simple solution ?

Thank you for your hint, you seem to know where the information lies
I successfully installed the driver „USBMDM.INF“ under Windows XP.
My problem:
After going on the phone to "Modem Link" according to chapter "1.1.1.1.1 The Pre-WM5 AKU3 approach" (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2398206&postcount=2), as an "Access point name" in the drop down menu, I can only select “none”, nothing else.
I believe I should select my “eplus GPRS” connection, but it is not available in the drop down menue !
What am I doing wrong ?
Can you please help ?
Thank you,
PLEASE, be so kind to give me a hint...
Thanks
