I have been trying all day to get this working, downloading program after program, which proved to be nothing but a waste of time and aggravation of nerves. I want to be able to stream media then and there, without having to save it first. I tried tcpmp, wvd, flash lite 3.1, and al lthe plugins, still nothing. When i go to a website it keeps telling me i either don't have java enabled or flash is missing. i even got flash 7, still said the same thing. I mean youtube is pretty smooth, via you tube app, but if i am reading an email and i click on the link, it goes to stupid streaming media and doesn't even load. BOOO!
I am a CDMA Telus Diamond user. Is there anything I can do to just freely watch media on the web. I go through opera sites, still bummer. I have been on this all day, and am rather exhausted. If you can offer help, please do so without reproachful scorn. Much appriciated. What should I download, and how should i work it. Any chance of making pornhub work?

Hi all,
Am tearing my hair out trying to figure this one out! I've got:
Windows Media
Coreplayer
GSPlayer
(Flash, not sure if this is needed)
All installed, as I'd like to listen to a radio station stream that I work on/manage the internet stream/technical setup for.
However it just won't connect at all! I have managed to play another shoutcast stream, but still never managed to get this one working.
Can anyone advise on why this could be? The stream in question is:
http://mobile:[email protected]:8000/hartlepool-mp3
Which works fine on all other players on the PC, etc, but cannot seem to figure why its not working on my Kaiser.
Thoughts/things to try, etc please!!
Can't see the link in full to analyse, or click it to open it.
Please repost it, perhaps not as a link but just as text and I'll take a look in the morning.
Cheers,
Joe
Oh strange when I pasted the link it was just a link, must have been the forum software that auto-linked it. Here it is, just cut the spaces out
http :// mobile:user @ arctic.thebmwz3.co.uk:8000/hartlepool-mp3
I've been trying a few other things here, and still cannot seem to figure out what is wrong with the stream/player on my Kaiser.
I've tried changing the stream from mp3 to ogg, same problem, have also set it not to require the username/password authentication, same problem.
Not sure what to try, anyone??
I stream a few stations, here's what I did;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=350675
Good Luck.
Thanks for the tips, unfortunately since this is a small UK regional/community station that I operate, it isn't in any public listings, so cannot stream via pages or other links.
The bit i'm struggling with is why the kaiser won't stream the link, as its a fairly standard CBR mp3 streamed from icecast2 at 64kbps/22kHz and I cannot stream either over 3G or wlan when I'm at home, so that negates and proxy or anything like that with my cell provider, so it looks like I'm struggling with some form of incompatibility with my audio applications and the stream that I'm running.
Help! Don't suppose any kind souls out there can try my stream I posted and see if they can play it on their kaiser?
Thanks everyone for your input, its been driving me mad this!!

I tried the stream as posted, with .mp3 rather than -mp3, and without the mobile:[email protected] both as . and -
It couldn't even find the stream! Kept saying the file (etc, not typing the whole message) could not be found. Tried it on a couple of other streams for local radio I know of in South Wales, and it was fine. Couldn't seem to handle Radio 1 tho, but no loss there...
I have no clue about streams, so can't help with what might be wrong, but least this confirms that a Kaiser and WMP will run streaming internet radio. Maybe there is something on the config that a PPC couldn't handle? Does this stream work for you:
http://gmga.planetwideradio.com/RealWales
Thanks Steve, thats what I was wondering. Yes your link works fine which confirms that the streaming to my WM kaiser is fine, its obviously how I'm handling my own stream.
Interesting that you've tried all the combinations that I did, and with no luck, and yes very strange it doesn't find the feed at all and errors with unknown url, etc, I'm wondering if its somehow because the stream runs on port 8000 instead of 80?
However, in pocket IE, you can get to http://arctic.thebmwz3.co.uk:8000/ which is the admin for my icecast2 server, so PIE does seem to accept the alternative port too.
I'm very confused! I'm going to post to the icecast2 forum to see if there are any answers, but anyone else can give me any pointers too??
Cheers!
Right,
Chatting to the Icecast streaming developers, they suspected the authentication being the problem.
So I disabled authentication and sure enough the stream connected immediately, so I suspect there is a bug in the internet/backend on the WM that doesn't interpret multiple colons correctly, as obviously I had two in the URL, one for the TCP port number to use, and one to separate the username/password.
So think thats the problem.
Hi All,
I have been using YOUTUBE on my HTC TYTN II since last two months through FlashVideoBundle.CAB and TCMP and it was working flawlessly until I checked yesterday.
Now I am not able to see any videos on www.ytpocket.com and moreover when I go to main www.youtube.com and click on a video and say either save or play it shows me error message “youtube swf args not found”.
Please help me to sort out this problem.
Thanks.
Download the new flashbundle from this thread m8.
Be sure to uninstall the old one before you install the new one.

Hi, Thanks for prompt reply....
Are you sure it will not screw any existing applications as i was able to stream youtube before and apart from youtube i am still able to stream videos from other websites like goggle videos, VEOH videos, DIVX STAGE6 videos etc...
It is just a concern.....
Thanks for your help
Not sure about that, guess you'll just have to try and find out.
Just out of curiosity, how do you stream vids from stage6? Is there a plugin or a certain player for that?

I use TCMP and FlashVideoBundle for Stage 6, Just you need to associate divx files with TCMP.
Just as additional information, in the event that someone had the same problem as me.
I had problems through wifi where it failed to connect.
The phone had defaulted to trying to connect through "My ISP" in the streaming media app options. To get it working through wifi, just change the option to connect through "The Internet" and it goes for the wifi rather than the phone network (which I have disabled with Modaco".
I just tried m.youtube.com and everything works as usual. I use HTC Streaming Media, it intergrates with browser perfectly. You can find a cab floating somewhere on the forum.
Sorry to hijack the thread man, but I thought it might be better not to open a new one for a very similar problem.
I had to hard reset my device yesterday and then I've installed everything back.
Now youtube doesn't work as it is supposed to. When I'm watching a stream in landscape mode and I want to see it full screen, it rotates back to portrait.
Before the hard reset it was working just fine. What could it be?
Thanks.
The ROMeOS Rom works very well with YouTube. If you want to try it here it is, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406346. It as actually a very good, stable, and fast Rom. It is on the Lite side and an excellent base to add just what you want in your Rom.
hey guys, ive been reading ur treads and everything. i got all necesarry files on my phone to play youtube videos. but, when i enter any of the youtube pages u gave links to. and wanna open a film to se it. i get this message could not find the network.(the film always open in the phones media player)
can this be the problem? i dunno how to fix it. so a little help would be great
This is my first time posting so go easy.
Since getting the Kaiser I have really wanted to be able to stream videos from Youku or Tudou since it has pretty much everything. The TCPMP video loader doesn't seem to be working anymore and the only way I have been able to achieve this is by searching the site for the video I want, copying the link into www.clipnabber.com and then copying the download links into TCPMP. Does anyone know of an easier way, or perhaps is anyone willing to write a program similar to youtubeplay to allow us to do this. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Just wait for the new Opera mobile to come out which supports flash?
Then you can go directly to youku or tudou websites and play whatever you want.
have you tried skyfire?
its not like tcpmp (instead it plays within the browser) but it has a nice zoom feature that basically makes it full screen.
Actually my version of Opera plays video from youku in the browser. It only started about a week ago, problem is it's slower than a three legged dog. And as for Skyfire, not in the US so thats not an option. I just thought somebody might be willing to write a program considering how many TV shows and stuff are available on youku. By the way is TCPMP with videoloader working for anyone?
I recently came back to the HTC fold after a year of uing Nokias by being given a Diamond for my Christmas and I've given my wife my N95. I have spent the last week searching various forums to try and solve the following problem.
I used to use my old phone to watch programmes I had downloaded from the BBC Iplayer site. I presumed it would be as easy as using Windows media player on my PC to sync the content to the Diamond as I could do with my old XDA Mini S. Unfortunately it's not !! I keep being hit with error messages saying that it requires a licence. I have tried downloading it with iplayer downloader and renaming the .mov file to mp4 which at least gives me picture but no sound on the Diamond. It is all the more galling when I see my daughter just dragging and dropping content onto her Creative Zen mp4 player and it plays without any hassle.
If someone could suggest a simple and hopefully guaranteed method I would appreciate it. I ahve searched the forum for this but all the threads relate to streaming content to the phone. This isn't really an option because I am on Orange with a pretty meagre data package.
Second that...
Yeah, I'd like to know the answer to that one too. I can play iPlayer programmes on the device via the video streamer thanks to the information in this forum, but I get the same lisence error if I try and play a programme I've downloaded on my PC... even though the download actually says it's for mobile devices?
Can anyone shed any light on this?

You'll have to search the forum for that one my friend... I can't remember where I saw the information. You have to update one of the settings in Opera to fool iPlayer into thinking your device is a Samsung Omnia, then visit the mobile iPlayer site and click away. The videos stream throught the pre-installed video streaming app on the device. (At least pre-installed in stock ROM's, if you're using a custom ROM then the cooker may have removed it!)
Happy searching!
The device needs to support playback of DRM protected content, to be able to playback the stuff downloaded from Iplayer. (something like that)
Thanks for that
It's not the streaming of programmes I'm trying to do it's playing files I have already downloaded and want to transfer to my Diamond

Have you tried coreplayer ?
Not the answer to the original question I know but a bit of info for streaming iplayer direct from the BBC website. I use Skyfire browser which is fine, and pretty quick.
Problem resolved
I did as suggested and installed coreplayer and I can play the content. I'll go through what i did because I'm not entirely sure that Coreplayer resolved the problem or no.
I downloaded Coreplayer and installed it on the phone. Because I had deleted the previous downloads I used my daughters laptop to transfer a programme she had downloaded to her Creative Zen. After I transferred it to my phone I went into File Explorer and clicked on the programme rather than opening in Coreplayer it opened in Windows media player. A warning popped up as usual "A licence is required to play this file" and it offered to download it as before. I thought "here we go again it'll fail to get the licence and won't play" but surprise surprise it played fine. Now I'm not sure if Coreplayer installs a codec that allows these files to play or whether the phone got a licence off my daughters laptop that was designed for the Creative Zen but bottom line is that it works. So I'm happy
I need one that doesn't suck @$$..
give me some links!
Yet again someone who hasn't tried a search. Loads of threads on this already.
sorry. :/ guess i was searching in the wrong place, because I tried.
Hi there... Sorry you had troubles searching on your own... I know I have had problems finding what I am looking for at time too.. Here is my personal reccomendation to you for media streaming..
Try "Orb".. it is 100% free, and works GREAT.. On your computer, goto www.orb.com . Setup an account... install the software on your computer... and you are set.. It will handle many types of media, and works very well for a "free" product.
The on your phone, goto " mycast.orb.com " in mobile IE.. Sign in.. and there you go... OF course it works best if both your computer as well as your phone have a high speed connection... You can also use Orb on a Wii, xBox, and pretty much any device that supports internet browsing and media playing.. It isn't "HD" when you stream on your Wii.. but for the small Kaiser screen, it loosk crisp and sharp...
I hope this helps...
