Hi Guys,
Ok I want to completely disable any 3g connection and GPRS connectivity if possible, how do I go about doing this as I have dried to locate options but only found HSPDA on of switch. The only option in the comms that is set to on is phone.
Any help would be appreciated as this is really annoying me. Thanks in advance.

Program nodata will provide your needs.
Search forum and you wil find it.
Grtzzz
Start|Settings|Phone|Band set network to GSM.
Start|Settings|Connections|Manage existing connections|Delete existing connection
You could also try Nadavi 's Improved Comm manager..
so u can switch between Auto modus (3G) and GSM only.
Thanks guys, managed to disable all connections. Its a bit annoying that the 3g or GPRS connections are always active, bills are becoming abit of a nightmare lol. Once again Thanks!

Hello All.
Does anyone have an addon or something which will help me quickly or automagically switch between different wireless networks and the GPRS network?
Basically, if im in a wifi area, i want it to switch to a wifi which i tell is acceptable (i.e. at work, home, and on UCF campus). Otherwise, iwant it to auto set itself to GPRS.
Any suggestions? Or even a quick-network changer would help...
Thanks.

Great question! I have been wondering about this too since I just got my 8125 on 5 days ago.
No one has any modification that would allow this?
Upgrading to 2.2 fixed this for me.
If you select 'My ISP' as your connection or uncheck the proxy server, you will be able to switch between wi-fi and GPRS automatically. The only catch is that you still need to turn on wi-fi manually. Leave it on all the time will quickly drain your battery in one or two hours.
Friends,
Anyone know the hack how to remove the 3G icon via registry hack? I looked around and didn't see anything out there.
Also, I no longer use AT&T data plan, how do I automatically set wifi connection to trigger when viewing web pages, email?
Please advise and thank you for your help!

1)Dont think you can remove the 3G icon, but i use wktask to cover it up and other unwanted icons(battery, volume, etc) its adjustable.
2)If you dont use the dataplan i suggest using Modacco Nodata to disable gprs and medianet. Its a good way to make sure you dont accidently use their service. can save you a loottt of money!
3)As for automatically set wifi, dont think there is one. Its just best to leave it on. In my opinion wifi doesnt consume that much battery when its on(aside from just being used to surf, etc. and it shuts off when phone is sleeping). But then again, you have to consider the issues of wifi availability, and configuration settings(wep, etc).
thank you for the quick reply!
I figured a way how to keep medianet, that is in the network settings by not selecting it for primary dial connection.
Looked everywhere to turn off the GPRS icon couldn't find it.

heres another quick reply!
as mentioned in my earlier post, use this for a quick way to enable/disable medianet and gprs.
Thanx for the info..
The one thing that bothers me is the GPRS icon at the top with the message "no data connections are found" message.
I wish there was a way to remove that.

Hello, I justa wants to disable EDGE auto connect when he do not find Wifi because sometimes I am loosing wifi connection and EDGE take the relay. With advance config you disable EDGE but not the connection at loose.
AdvanceConfig has an option to disable the GPRS hook. I think this only keeps GPRS on instead of switching to higher-speed protocols. I know this is different from the description that the program itself has, but try it...
SEARCH
And then look at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406440
my problem is that in a poor wifi design ( not home user ) EDGE is taking the relay. I have read all post about EDGE and used Advance config for GPRS auto disable and nothing, gray icon for EDGE but when the connection is lost or in negosiation EDGE connect automaticaly because there is a program request for internet connection and I want to prevent that. I want to totaly diseable EDGE and internet by gsm line; only by Wifi.
Hi,
I use iGo8 and TomTom 7 and with both of these applications, everytime I close them I can see that they openend the GPRS connection (internet mobile)... my internet has no limit of use so it's not much of a money issue but the battery is going down pretty fast beacause of this background running data connection ...
Is there something I could do ?
Install nodata.cab from modaco

Thanks for the reply. I tested the software you pointed out. It's a solution except that its pretty boaring to have to lock the internet connection everytime you need to use the GPS (for it's 15 to 20 times a day with a new adress) ...
Any idea on how to disable the connection only for the GPS software ?
EDIT : even with all connections disabled with nodata, the gsp still manages to open the connection !
I had exactly the same problem. I tried the same cab as you and it didn't work... I tired creating a bogus connection and selected it to try and stop the GPRS connection as someone else advised but a GPRS connection kept on opening itself...
Do what I did and flash a stock HTC ROM over your SFR one... It completely solved the problem for me.
You might want to dump the old SFR one first for guarantee reasons.
I use igo8 and it never turns on the GPRS connection.
I don't know if this is the cause, but can you check if assist GPS is ON or OFF?
Mine is OFF which is the default behavior...
If you don't have it, you'll need an app like "Advanced Config" in order to be able to see and change the A-GPS behavior
--Double post--- Ignore
This was the problem ideed. I have direct access to the A-GPS ON/OFF option in the parameters and it was ON. Switched it to OFF and the navigation software don't start the data connection now !
Thanks !
Gang:
I might have dropped my phone (or not).
But, it now won't connect on the 3G signal, (EDGE and GPRS seem to work).
It constantly is seeking the 3G connection "overruling" the EDGE and GPRS connections so I'm constantly missing calls and lose connections (both data and voice).
Is there a way to block the 3G connection (so it will connect on, and stay connected on, the EDGE and/or GPRS signals)? I'm over my head here, but perhaps in the registry?
For bonus: if anyone knows how to fix the 3G connection, let me know too. It "connects", but can't use data or phone in or out.
Thanks in advance.

Options search? Need a bit more. What's that please?
that's the stuff you got when you searched your problem.. Which is part of the rules, you need to try and figure out how to solve your problem on your own..
Go to your Comm Manager, there should be an option to toggle off 3G.
