After reading such great reviews of this case I ordered it. I've been using it about a month and it's great. The rubber feel is nice, the case is durable and protects the phone well, very thin so it doesn't make your phone too bulky.
BUT
The damn rubber coating is flaking off all over this damn thing!!
I take pretty good care of my phones, there is no reason for this. It lives in my front shirt pocket by itself or placed on a flat surface.
Slowly the rubber coating is deteriorating and I'm left with a cheap plasticy case. I contacted seidio about this and received a "copy-and-paste" computer response to send in proof of purchase, pictures etc. It honestly isn't worth my time and am really upset on the garbage quality of the case. I'm going to pickup the silicone verizon case next...
I recently bought this case too, but I haven't experienced any of the problems you're describing yet. I don't notice any peeling on mine whatsoever, but then again I've only had the case for a few weeks. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Haven't had that happen to me. Had mine for about a month now.
I probably got a bad batch then, but if you notice it happening update your posts in here.
Had two of these (black and purple) for my wife and me, not had this issue on either and bought them in early July.
I have the same case, I've seen a few spots where it's flaking off or rubbed through. I will have no qualms about making them send me a new one when it starts to really look bad. I know some people that have already gotten 3 or 4 replacements. They are a good company, let them fix it for you - even if they have to fix it over and over again.
Rather than coming in here and claiming the case should not be bought by anyone, stop the drama and send them what they want so you can get a brand new one. Why would you spend that kind of money and then blow it off because you're too lazy to send them a few things??

It's good to know that they will cover it if this ever happens to my case, thanks for the info.
does this case push up the screen protector? i recently purchased a case from ebay and thats the problem im having. im having a hard time finding a case that will protect my phone without pushing up the sides of the screen protector
Same is happening on mine and I've had it for about 2 months. In the bottom left corner, the soft rubber is coming off significantly. My first Innocase was too loose so this is my second one. After they cancelled the car dock I don't see myself using it for much longer.

Unforturnatley it does push up on my ghost armor screen protector. The screen protector itself is slighty a little to small . But it is just enough for the case to catch the edge of it and push on it. If the screen protector was an exact fit it might not do it. But all of the protectors that I have tried are never an exact fit.
I don't have this case, but was seriously considering buying it. On amazon there's a review of a guy who said it scratched his phone all up (inside the case). According to him it's happening to everyone - "just check the forums" he says. When I saw the title of the thread I expected it to be about that, but it's something totally different. Soooo... what's a good case for this thing?
It's true.
I have this case and all around the front housing (the black edge) are scratches.
Mainly they are at the top part of the case and I don't even understand what caused them.
Though I still use the case.
i am experiencing this flaking too. it's looking like ass.
No issues with mine. Had it for 6 weeks or so. If it starts flaking, I'll buy a new case. Not like it cost me 50 bucks or something.

Not trying to get you all fired up or anything, but a good company doesn't only mean they have good replacement warranties. In my mind at least it means they make a good product too. I would definitely not be happy with any company if i had to replace their product every few months and get another one. Building a brand name starts with a good product and good customer service together.
I'm not a big fan of cases and sleeves because in most cases you can "see" and "feel" the phone; i have the zagg shield on mine and i have been absolutely happy with it.
I don't think I've had any of mine long enough to have the rubber flake off. Mine have all fit like ass, especially at the top left corner. I'm on my third case since June. The bezel of my phone is all scratched up due to the poor fit allowing the case to rub dirt/dust/debris into the phone. Seidio has been very prompt in replacing the cases... The first 2 times. Now they've apparently realized they're losing their asses on shipping (the same poor quality) replacement product and are expecting me to advance ship the case at my expense before they'll replace it. They're also refusing to replace it with a different Seidio product that, I've heard, doesn't have the same issues.
In short, I agree with the OP. Don't buy the case.

Full body. Be aware though that the curved edges and sides are not covered. So in other words if you drop your phone a lot this might not be the solution for you. It's also really easy to install the zagg shield on your own but if you prefer them to do it then its $10 extra. Cheers!
This is not to attempt to discredit the OP; I've had my case for 2+ months and it still looks great and functions well. There is some contact rubbing on the corners but then again i take the damn thing in and out of the holster 100 times a day and have dropped it a few times as well on brick.
Hey guys,
This is something I see alot of with iPhone cases at the Apple Store. The most popular cases, similar to how Droid seems to favor Siedio, is the Incase Slider Cases. These are generally plastic cases, with a matte-finish paint on them (my friend has the Innocase, and it's the same material). That paint is known to, over time, deteriorate.
For every customer that comes in with it flaking away after 2 weeks, I have one that comes in a whole year later with just a tiny flake. It depends on the batch, sometimes, and from what i've been able to see exposure to heat, sweat, and sun. The more it's exposed to those elements, the more it flakes away, I believe.
Also, if you're having problems with a case pushing up your film screen, you might not have it properly aligned. With the same aforementioned slider cases and the anti-glare film screens, if you're screen is even slightly off center to the right by a smidgeon, the case is super tight and pushes it up/causes those nasty bubbles.
So, you might want to try re-appling it and making sure it's perfect center.
Hope this is some helpful information.
Has anyone bought or knows of a Belt Pouch case for the HD7 that actually fits the HD7 and has a magnetic clasp.
I have tried two different cases from two different amazon businesses and neither was big enough, they don't bother checking, getting my money back on both but need to find one that DOES fit the HD7 fine.
Jamie
I bought this one and it fits my HD7 very well.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00466DL1O/ref=oss_product
Only issue is that it's not leather. It's some sort of leather replica material made out of rubber which gave it a strong rubber smell when I took it out of the package. The smell has disapated over the days.
Thanks for the info Kino, after searching online all day I have ordered two different style cases from http://www.pdair.com/ a lot of UK Mobile shops stock their products so decided to look at their site and they have just brought out a range of new cases and such specifically designed to fit the HD7 and only the HD7.
Good warranty and prices too as it's free worldwide shipping, just need to wait and see what turns up now.

I'm looking for a holster myself. they have one for the iphone that alows you to have a your case on the phone and it fits in the holster.

Sorry to say. That I actually have\had that case for my HD2. And the stitching on the inside was a little poor and where the brown on the inside met the black on the outside was misaligned very noticeably. Overall, it was just poor build quality. I actually have this case http://www.cellularoutfitter.com/p-...ontal-leather-carrying-pouch-for-htc-hd7.html and it works perfect too. I actually bought it for my HD2 also. And it fits just fine on the HD7. I actually believe I paid less than 12.00 for it, but can't find or remember the site.
Try the following site, I've always bought my PDA/Smartphone accessories from them:
http://www.shop.brando.com
Ha, forgot I had started this thread, I got my 2 cases from PDair, both came in nice boxes and were very nicely finished. Designed specifically for the HD7 and they fit perfectly when they came, been using it every day for last 3months and it's great.
I've tried two covers on my phone
This one which is a rubberized plastic 2 piece case that snaps together.
And this basic soft single piece silicon case.
The first was a pain because since the phone froze a lot, I needed to pull the battery often, and the case couldn't stand up to being taken on and off repeatedly. The hooks eventually snapped.
The second is ok, but it is loose and not very solid.
Does anyone know of a hard single piece rubber one? Like that reinforced silicone stuff?

I have tried both, and they both suck. Dont add enough protection.
I found a black hard rubber one from a cricket corp store. It was an official zio sleeve made of really tough durable rubber. Had the ZIO logo on the back, but has since rubbed off (it use to have a matte finish, but the wear and tear causes it to turn a bit shiny).
For $20 and the amount of times I've dropped my phone,, it was a well worth investment.

Yeah, DO NOT buy those plastic snap together cases. Total garbage. When you drop your phone the case splits in two and your phone ends up getting scratched up anyways. Amazon has amazing deals on cases for our phone. Under 10 bucks I got a silicone case and love it.
It looks a bit like this one. They appear to be solid rubber and have the same looking holes as yours from what I can tell.
I also just found this one that looks interesting, but there aren't any other pics
Yep, those are the ones. I have the black, and it doesnt have any extra gfx on the sleeve asides the word "Zio".
Good cases, and highly recommend them. If you're jonezin for one, just go to a cricket corp store and ask, Im sure they've got stock of them, or will in the near future.
I have one like the rubberized plastic ones you linked to first... mines black and have had no problems with it at all.... have dropped it a few times with only some white showing through where the rubberypaint stuff flaked off but thats only in one tiney little spot by the volume controll..... have not had any problems with that OR the screen protector I got off ebay for a few bucks and the phone itself looks brand new still
Thats good. My snap on case actually scratched up my phone!! o.0
It left a scratch line around the perimiter of the where the front piece touches the actual phone. Every time I dropped it, as stated above, the case split in 2, so I'd have to chase down 3 pcs on the floor. lol Pretty embarrassing in public. hehe
The case asthetically-wise however, is very sound.
I'm surprised that you guys haven't thought about hitting up the Sprint store for their very own Zio accessories. They put cricket's Zio accessories to shame. I bought a 2 pack of hard and glossy (smoke and blue transparent) silicon cases for my cricket Zio for $20. They are the best Zio cases that I have seen. I kept the black and gave the other to my brother.
They also had an all white hard plastic 2 piece case for the Zio. It resemble the iPhone 3G incase phone case. I didn't get it because I learned from the rubber cases that the front and back of the Sprint Zio are a bit 'bigger' than the cricket Zio.
The Sprint cases for the Zio fit well on my phone though. Hope that this helps.

yea I got mine off ebay with some screen protectors... they where all cheap so I didnt have high expectations to begine with lol... was one of those get it now till I find something better type of buys.....
have to say though I have been SUPER happy with them.... the case IS a pain in the rear to get apart if you have to pull the battery !! those thin little tabs scare me I am waiting for them to snap myself..... but what I like about it is it has a very small "form factor" it doesnt really add any bulk at all to the phone and it looks good on the phone... though I guess I could see it scratching the face how its made but my screen protector keeps that from happening....
hell for the 5 bucks or so I paid for it I figured if it lasted more then a few months its all good
where I thought about the silicone/rubber holsters and have tried them before and I didnt like the way they fit.... loved the armor protection of them but mine always made it a pain to get in and out of pockets(to grippy??) and it seemed like the thing was always wanting to slip off the phone
the screen protectors I have are the kind you wet down and slide into position and then squeegee flat..... I had them on my old phone and wasnt reall happy the way it went down wasnt real smooth looking BUT I wear a few earings and one of them is a small diamond and it plays HELL on phone screens and that type pf screen protector is damn near invulnerable to scratches..... this time however when I put it down onto the zio maybe it was luck or more skill doing it the protector went down smooth as silk and you cant even tell its there.... think the trick is when you squeegee it down to go VERY light.... if you press to hard you will move the sticky stuff around and cause it to crater and bump.....
yup
i also have had the silicon and hard plastic snap together ones. I actually liked the snap together one but like many have mentioned it just became too annoying to pull it apart if freeze happened. I will say though i paid like $10 for the silicon one and though i mostly hate it from amazon i found one that offered extra usb cable antenna booster and a car quick charger (and it actually works well full charge time in like 1.5 hour) it was worth it for the extras. lol
Here's a few of cool cases that I found on ebay,

dark energy is entirely correct about the sprint store option... i visited there as late as sept, of 2011, and even though they were no longer carrying the ZIO phone in their lineup, they DID have the silicon cases in a two pack, for $15...very stylish and very sturdy bodyglove feel, and with the mirror screen protectors i got off eBay for $3 and free shipping, i'm as happy as a geek...oh, that and the fact my ZIO cost me $50.

Hey guys anyone know the best quality screen guards to get? I bought a pack of 6 when I first got the streak, while there protection was good they were a pita to apply. Im just wondering is there a specific brand, type or supplier online which is notibly better than the millions available on ebay?

I've bought 3 lots off eBay recently to replace the first one I fitted. The first two lots were cheapos and completely the wrong size, the third one was perfect but expensive and I ****** up fitting it so there was crud on the underside.
I've come to the conclusion that any of the 6 for 1.99 types are going to be useless. The one for 8.99 types are good but you need to be wearing hazmat clothing and gloves in a totally sterile sealed room 600 feet underground to be able to fit them properly.
Yeah the 6 pack I bought were fairly good but i think the real difficulty is the sheer size of the streaks screen, lining it up and preventing bubbles and dust is a real krypton factor challenge
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
Apply just after a shower. Have the kit (including streak) in the room too. Easier to apply, less junk.
Other than ZAGG?? Don't think so
Need to check out ZAGG, expensive but worth it, lifetime screen protection (was given a replacement for $3.99 shipping when I had to RMA my previous Streak). No better screen protector out there.
I got a Steinheil Crystal Clear from ebay for about $14 and I love it. It came with 2 protectors and I think it helps stops fingerprints but otherwise I can't really tell its on.
The best that i have used is Martin Fields Overlay Protector ( MY SE P10i had it for nearly 3 years and even after using a stylus a zillion times on it , not a single scratch)
Cons : Expensive. and ships from singapore and takes a few days to get here in US
Very close runner up is Zagg
I removed the zagg from mine. Looked and felt horrible, and built up more static than the screen alone. Mine is naked again. I do like the zagg for stylus devices.
you realy cant go wrong with zaggs
Zagg protectors are expensive. I have them on two of my Nokias. Search ebay for prestige protectors, I bought two full body protectors (just like Zagg's) for $7. They don't come in the fancy box like Zagg's, no solution or rubber squegee, just a plastic sleeve with the protectors in it. But the quality is on par with Zagg's.

Sometimes you just need peace of mind. And also, depending on jewelry...for example! I bought an iPad recently on my honeymoon, was amazed by the lack of scratches on the 6 month old demo units at the store. Within one week of having it my wedding band scratched a nice wound in it.
As for Zagg devices...they're not clear. Everything looks dithered and grainy. Ive bought 3 before, and everytime i rip them off after a while and trash them. They also get...sticky feeling.

....L M F(royo) A(ndroid) O! Aint that the truth?!
I use the one comes with the ottorbox impact case and it works perfectly. Both for $10 from Amazon
I picked up a Streak in the recent sell off and am loving it - have upgraded to Streakdroid 2.3 (really easy with a bit of background reading even for someone coming to Android for the first time). I picked up the Otterbox commuter case but never really got on with it - I prefer leather flip cases so decided to look what was out there apart from the many derivations of the "PU leather" cases you can see on ebay.
Morpeth Mobiles are selling off their stock of PDair cases for the Streak at only £5 delivered (UK) rather than the usual £30+ that these seem to go for. I think the Tuff Luv case generally seems to get a better reception (and is a little cheaper at RRP) but I decided to try one of these for a fiver and am happy enough with it (its the flip style rather than the book style folio that I think PDair also do).
Anyway, if anyone wants to buy one you will have to google as I'm a new user and can't post outside links (before anyone asks, I have no relationship with Morpeth Mobiles whatsoever other than as a purchaser of this case). I don't know how many they have but they are still showing up at £5 this morning

Glad you can join us on the twilght of the Dell Streak. Shame the price was £199, its hardly the £75 they were selling them for in the states at the end of life. There again, Dell support is so crap, they would have to pay me to take a another piece of their kit on.
Its a great phone, but mine had a dead earpiece from new. Absolute rubbish, whatever happened to quality control.
You buy a nice shiny new phone, then they give you someone elses if it becomes faulty.

Review PDAir Flip Case
I ordered this case and it arrived today, so i will give it a quick review.
I have used a PDAir case before for my Sony-Ericsson P1i, but that time it was a aluminium case. The quality of this leather case is very nice, well stitched.
It has a magnetic catch that holds the flap securely closed, 3 pockets in the flap for credit cards, business cards or memory cards. There are cutouts for the PDMI port, power and camera buttons,
The top sides of the device are not protected so you have total access to volume buttons and headphone jack. The case fits tightly, i doubt you could fit the phone with a extended battery installed, might be possible but i doubt it. There are 5 holes punched in the back to allow sound out of the speaker and cut outs for the 3 capacitative buttons, microphone and screen, earpiece and front facing camera and sensor.
To use the main camera you have to pull the flap right back to allow it to be used.
There is no belt clip, so it will have to go in a pocket, or a bag.
Generally fits nice and keeps the phones slim profile, but apart from protecting the screen and back of the device, the sides are very exposed and personally i prefer my Otterbox Defender case, which although chunky provides my delicate streak allround protection apart from the screen, which is protected when in the holster if its put in with the screen facing inwards.
I have attached some photos for those considering this case
Overall, at £4.99 its a reasonable case but i will be sticking with my Otterbox.
The Streak can be bought from Morgan Computers for £199.95 sim free, as for the PDAir case it's great at a fiver (if it was in stock) but not worth the original £30~
Wish they still had these as looks nice but thanks for flagging it up for us maybe they'll get more
