I could really use some help here. I installed garmin xt on my htc and it worked perfectly untill i hard reset my device and installed it again. garmin cant detect my map and it shows no map on the navigator area. i did paste the img file on the root of my garmin. mapsource detects it as well yet no map to be viewed. any ideas?
I use Garmin too
My english is poor but I will try to explain my opinion.
The Diamond detect the satellites? if not, the garmin dont know where are and dont show the maps.
The maps are in the Garmin folder in the internal memory yet?
I am using Garmin 5.00.20 al all ok.
Carlos
Presumably GMXT is running on your Diamond. Can you see the World base map? Have you already achieved a Sat lock? If you have all these and still not able to see your detailed Map, then either it is locked, or you have not selected the Map on your GMXT setup.

im facing same problem here. installed garmin tx, also archived the Sat Lock (it's working), anyway the Map is locked. I used it before into my Symbian Garmin, but i use to add the Map Unlock code into GMAPSUPP.UNL file into \garmin dir, i dunno if the same produce re for the Windows Mobile version?
PD: every time i initiate the Garmin, it ask for a 8 digit product key (this weren't asked into the symbian garmin, you can hit continue anyway)

I have a feeling that this will become quite a discussed post. The *taster* version of TT that comes with the Kaiser allows you to download only one map - and the selection is limited.
I have a TomTom Go in my car and was wondering if I can use the map data from there? I have all of Western Europe. Obviously I'll need a memory card capable of holding it but the real question is - can you use TT Go maps on TT Mobile?
R
I suspect that the maps are attached to a particular device.
Depends on the map version you have.
I guess the Kaiser has a version 6 Tomtom. Therefore you need at least map designed for that version.
In general the maps for the Go and the WM versions of TomTom are identical. Theoretically it should work.
BUT:
Apart from that you also need a device specific activation code belonging to the map/device combination. Your maps are obviously allready activated for your Go, so you cannot activate them on a second device.
Maybe the TomTom helpdesk (forum on their site) can help you out.
Taster version of TomTom with Kaiser......is it possible to uninstall it so that I can install my own tomtom which I have got on my current sd card in trinity, as it is activated and with all maps? I mean, is this tatser verison included in ROM or is it removable from settings?
Thanks

I believe i noticed in the "retail TyTN II unboxing" video, that TomTom resides on a CD with applications in the box.... So that would mean you have to install it yourself, and in that case you can go with your own full copy of TomTom...
What i would like to know is, if version 6.030 from my Trinity will run smoothly on the Kaiser...???

tomtotm isnt on the rom. so there will be no need to uninstall anything. just put your version on and use it. its supplied on the software disk. I'll be putting my own version of tomtom onmine when i get my micro sd card hopefully tomorrow
but the version on the CD Rom is the latest (6.0.32)
the 6.0.32 version of TTN6 is specific for WM devices with built-in GPS, like the Kaiser.
So, best option is to use the app from the kaiser package and your own maps.
I think you can just copy the map folder from the TomTom Go to an microSD card and see if it is working.
I bet it is.

Legally? No. TomTom licenses you maps per device, so what you have is licensed to your GO.
Practically? Yes. You'll need one of the many keygens out there....
Can you nav guys help. I've never used GPS with my TyTN. I'm considering a TyTN II and have some questions.
Can you use the built in GPR without an external antennae with Google Maps with the TyTN II? Or do you need the TomTom or other software?
I like using Google maps.

You don't need an antenna or extra software like tomtom. Sometimes it's a bit fiddly setting up the ports to use to get say Google Maps or other software to see the inbuilt GPS - but you get there in the end!

Mike:
Thanks again for your reply. I think I may pick up the TyTN II here pretty quickly. I just wanted to hear that the built in GPS actually does something.

What port are you using in Googlemaps? I've left it at auto, which doesn't work :S
Thanks!
People said that Googlemaps is not so friendly with long waiting to get satelite fix. So, Googlemaps tend to disconnect and wont tell you anything.
The workaround (not nice btw), is to start TomTom to get satelite fix, then quit.
After that Googlemaps will be able to connect to the GPS and works fine.
But, sorry for asking, what are the good things of Googlemaps compare to, let say TomTom or Route66, etc. Of course, it is FREE, but other than that?
Is Googlemaps available for all continent (Europe?) ?
bear in mind that google maps is an API, not just a web site.
It is possible to write location sharing apps etc for google maps, a mobile interface would be very cool.
Guys where on earth is the tomtom cab file for version 6? I only got 2 cd's, 1 applications which only has 3 apps (but not tomtom) and the starter cd which I did look all over? Is there more than 2 cd's?
Please help, I just got the kaiser today and want to install tomtom.
Thanks.

I don't have Tomtom6 on any CDs either , I got the units from SuperiorGadgets, they are HTC Tytn II. And I tried Mapopolis, map4pda, igo 2007, Destinator 6, none can see GPS.
What is the hardware port? I checked the GPS CP app, it shows COM4: as software, none for hardware. I tried couple of settings there, none worked so far.
I want to move the GPS software to the micro drive and off of my memory card. Has anyone tried this yet?
From what I gather the Garmin s/w is tied to the card so you can't even move it to a larger card. So unless someone has hacked it....
It's hacked but still not working against the internal GPS... at least in mine. Some people using the same hacked release claims having it working in the X7500...
Works perfectly with internal GPS for me.
working very well here

You can get it here:
https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=11413
Unless you're looking for warez which is prohibilited on this site.
Cheers.
I have it installed on my 6gig card
but I want to move it to my micro drive
This is not supported by retail version, it requires original SD card - but you can try with patched que.exe file. It will work from any SD card - it should work from microdrive also.
I have an X7501 with the Garmin XT SD card and the GPS work fine. How do I get the POI to work? I've used the POI Loader from Garmin to create the POI.GPI file and it's seen as a custom POI set on the "manage my data" in the Tools screen on the Garmin Mobile XT app. BUT I can't see any POI's. Is there a setting that I have to set ? Do I have to get close to the waypoint. I thought that they should show up as blue dots? HELP

Calm down young Jedi. Under setting tap map then map features then POI. There you can set the label that will show on your map.
BT Gps
Garmin XT version 4.10.40w works with most BT GPS Receiver.
it just not working with SDIO GPS receiver.
in the other hand, Tomtom works fine with SDIO GPS receiver or BT GPS.

I've set everythings but it's still doesn't work for me.
edit
Now it's worked for me. Even POI Loader send file.gpi to directory eg. SDCard\POI, I made the same one in folder SDCard\Garmin\POI and copied file.gpi to the folder.
Now I can smile
I have a question,... I bought garmin mobile XT with the garmin mobile 10 gps bloototh reciever,... that i have been using with my nokia...now i've instaled software on my polaris today but it keeps scanning bluetooth in order to find GPS reciever instead of going to internal gps, the garmin mobile xt came on the cd within the box, not sd card.. does anyone know where this can be fixed, any help is welcome
thnx
I need some help or guidance. I installed Garmin XT 5.0 on my HTC Fuze and having issues. When I had it on my tilt it would show me full detail maps including all the streets. After I installed the Garmin XT on my Fuze it only shows me what looks like the basic maps. All I can see are highways and major roads, no streets. I have already told it to show the most detail as well as all areas. Any ideas? I followed the instructions to the tee, in fact I installed the software two times just to make sure I didn't make a mistake anywhere the first time. Let me know what you guys think!
Roman
You have to own and install maps as well, the software by default only includes the base map that you are seeing. Since you say you had them on your Tilt, you should probably try to track down where you put them, or reinstall them to your PC from the CD/DVD so that you can select the detail maps you want on your Fuze.
Heres the problem, the fuze sees the base map when I go to "MAP SETS" but for some reason does not want to display it. All I see is the base map

That sounds more like a comprehension problem than a problem with the program...
If what you're trying to say is that there is MORE than just the base map listed in "map sets" but you only see the base map displayed, I'd guess that the maps aren't unlocked for your device properly.
Oh whoops. Yeah when I go to mapsets it sees the north american 2009 maps and the base map but only displays the base maps. Ill try to play with it. Thanks!
What kind of Garmin Mobile XT do you own? Is it locked to an SD card, or to a Bluetooth GPS?
I need help for installing Garmin GPS.
I have download and install:
- Garmin Mobile XT for WM latest version
- Garmin Mobile XT Free Base Map
- Garmin Mobile XT Support Files
But when I run, the program always scanning bluetooth and scanning attached for a long time and never end..
Can anyone help me please??
are you not able to skip that step? i use garmin all the time, granted its from the same installation i've used for years. i just keep the files on the sd card & move it from phone to phone & execute the autorun & its re-installs the shortcuts etc..
anyhow i think u should be able to skip that step, but i'm curious does google maps or bing gps work?

Naturally Garmin, can only works with Garmin devices such as bluetooth GPS. but It's possible to run garmin with other devices, all you have to do is cr*ck it. Try googling "jet mouse".

U have to register it. Skip the scan, that will get u past that part. If it's unregistered, it will only see a Garmin GPS.
Actually, Garmin Mobile XT was made for devices such as smartphones with a built-in GPS...
into the garmin software go to:
config>>Sistem>>remote gps and there select com4.
@drdrewdown =
1. if i skip that process, will show "Some aspects of garmin mobile XT will not work properly without first getting a valid GPS fix"... Any idea?
2. how to make the google maps or bing GPS work??
@iwakpitik = thanks for your opinion, i try to find it..
Thanks for all
is there any tutorial to crack this gps?
You can't legally use Garmin without paying for it in some fashion - either by purchasing their Bluetooth GPS package, or their SD card package. If you want to use the built-in GPS you need the SD card version. Be forewarned that Garmin does not support using anything other their supplied SD card, which is not very large and is filled with their software/maps. If you want to use your own SD card you'll have to circumvent their protection, which is obviously not something Garmin or this forum like people talking about.
at the scan screen skip it, go to the about screen, find your device/memory card id
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=4075165&postcount=318
go there follow instructions, use the keygen to register garmin xt.
u wont see the scanning ever again and the program will work flawlessly.
now if anyone has maps for india, please oh please pm me
Thanks for advanced.. I can run the application but the problem now is the map is not show and the signal is empty.. Any idea?? Thanks before
^^ sori for duplicate
Map for India

And attached is a step by step guide to do everything...

PS: Most of the times you will not see any signal bars on Garmin XT, but you will still pick up on any satelites.
very clear my friend.... thanks for your tutorial.. I will try this....
Hey there,
in case anyone of you guys would like to navigate not only on land but also at sea i can really recommend garmin xt.
what you want to do to get it working is to buy (or find it on the net) the garmin xt navigator version 5.2 at least (5.4 is ok too)
than get yourself a copy of garmin bluechart for example for the atlantic region.
install it and you'll have all the maps of zone 2, which is the atlantic region. there are to more regions.
with the map, mapsource will install at the same time on your computer.
in mapsource (on pc) select the map choosing tool and click on the map, you need.
connect your windows mobile driven device (i tried it with 6.1 pro) to the pc and click on send data to device in mapsource (tool on pc).
mapsource will now send the maps for sea navigation to the mobile device, which is identified as garmin xt navigation device.
remember to shut down the navigation software on phone before sync. maps.
hope i could help some sailors out there.
by the way its my first thread in this forum. hope i did everything allright.
cheers,
ami
