Is there an app that makes the backlight lit lower than current backlight for a time (secs) if the device is not used? (just to save some power) Just like in some nokia phones...
I'm managing to build one but I'm a super noob in CE programming using VB.
I dunno how to use registry so that user who modified the app will stay as it is when you softreset the device.
With Mortscript you should be able to write this quite easily. I once built one script to turn backlight back on when Tomtom mistakenly turned it off. The next day I received the Tomtom update that didn't have that bug...
There is hardly any learning curve, the manual is just a short reference, download some sample scripts, look into them and you can start writing.
success

Could you tell me more detail about Mortscript for TOMTOM?
I also worry about TOMTOM backlight. Now I use phoneAlarm to turn on backlight.
I actually used 3 scripts for Tomtom backlight problem, but didn't save them because Tomtom 6.03 no longer had that problem. Putting it all in one script didn't work because once the script started Tomtom it paused till Tomtom closed down. So one script called the Tomtom start script, that second script ended once Tomtom was starting but the first one was still able to call the third one, which wrote the correct registry settings for backlight.
Read all about Mortscript on http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=page&entry=ms_overview&action=view
still downloading Visual Studio 2005... 2GB+ remaining...
Any suggestions?
Who said anything about Visual Studio???
Mortscript is a very tiny download from the link I gave you. And it's freeware.
Visual Studio is nice for very professional programmers, although lots of them use freeware/open source tools as well. For such a tiny utility as what you were talking about it's like killing a mosquito by setting off all nuclear bombs at once.

64MB of what?...
Your 128MB of RAM is splitted between RAM, RAMDisk and page pool.

utak3r answered it already but just to be clear to all: EACH Himalaya has 4 chips infineon, always 128MB. Most of us never pick up a screwdriver to check that or any other hardware specifications.
I personally did, but that was just because:
-I bought mine with broken screens
-I'm a trained hardware technician
-I'm very curious

Hi.
I was wondering if the current Diamond owners already tried to run battery status extended to overclock the 528mhz cpu to a higher speed (let's say 600mhz)? And if so, what are the experiences till now.
Kind Regards,
TheWizard
I've tried it but it doesn't work. I believe the qualcomm proc isn't an OMAP proc, so you can't overclock it using batterystatus. It does show other stats though, but the main use of batterystatus is not available here.
xzces, sounds like you only tried the "free" version, not the "advcanced" one?
i tried to install this software (cab and desktop setup) but it does not work for me: installing the advanced version, the program does not show under "programs", but very well under "remove programs". so i can not start but only remove it.
trying the normal version, i am able to start the program, but after it says that it first has to active itself, nothing happened, so i deleted this one, too.
curiously, the task manager shows up under "programs" on both versions but does not start, too.
either this software cannot run (till now) on a touch diamond or i am too stupid to get it running (perhaps the tool "advanced config" or the settings i made with it causes the problem).

i have it on my diamond and working fine in the background. the CPU speed it shows is wrong (320). i should like to have it in htcflow, i miss looking at the CPU gauge and waiting for some heavy process or even the boot to finish.
there a lot of today plugins battery status ike but none with the CPU gauge.

528 Mhz with so many light roms here make your Diamond a racer compared to other Pocket PC devices. Don't be greedy, the speed is faar better really! If you still wanna move ahead, read overclocking guide (little outdated though).

No I don't think it would be easy...
that's why I ask it the pro's!!!
nice idea. Bluetooth connection to the PC?
lol... just the idea of pairing a device on Bluetooth with Windows...
Can't imagine the phone side to be too hard - my first shot would probably be WLAN since that's the easiest way to get some connection working. Once you have that simply passing gsen / dpad / buttons (maybe even touchscreen input?) to the PC should be rather trivial.
The harder part is probably to write a gamepad driver for windows that interprets that input data and transforms it to DirectInput compliant information.
While I certainly know how to do the phone side - I am somewhat unsure about the PC side. The last time I did some driver coding is AGES away. I don't even know if opening a TCP/IP socket from inside a driver is possible/a good idea. Maybe one would need a daemon-like user space program to read the input from the network and feed it to the driver...
Would acualy ge a freaking awsome Ide toward an playstation 3.
And acualy a computer.

Geez I wish I had time to look into that - if their stuff was open source I am sure we could leverage about 90% of their XP driver implementation (which most likely they managed pretty well)...
do we need to remake drivers?
you can get Python (program used) for PocketPC, and it just bluetooth on to PC with NiiMe software....
testing now...
while they seem to use python on a S60 phone - this doesn't directly translate to doing the same thing on a WiMo diamond... The fact that they released their source under the GPL makes reusing their PC software a viable option though.
Speaking of GPL source - has anyone found their code available for download on their site?
Okay guys - you got me as far as installing a devel enviroment and writing a simple gsen SDK based test app now - if there's someone willing to spend some time on the PC DirectInput driver side I'm sure we can get somewhere with this...
This.Would.Be.Awesome. !!!!!!!
if this works, I gonna get a diamond other than orbit 2

nice, i didn't know that this exist. So asking here for the request whasn't as stupid as i tought!!!
+1 for up!
Hey
I'm currently working on a little client-server (TCP/IP) thingie to at least get GSensor data from the Diamond to the PC - once that is done there's still the very ugly part of writing a DirectInput driver that acts like a gamepad...
If anyone wants to take over the driver-writing part things would progress much more quickly I guess
Sadly I don't have too much spare time at the moment to spend on the matter though.
Cheers,
Alex
a gsensor keyboard emulator could control for example
FLUX the game. (3d tube flying), by senden keystrokes
to windows` keyboardhandler
whoever does figure this out will be the man. when it does happen i just hope it will do the job for the cdma version coming to telus on or around august 6th
I have a .NET client/server pair running in an WiMo6 emulator now sending what could actually be GSen data at a fairly decent rate. Not considering the GSensor it's pretty much phone independent.
And if anyone tells me how to get rid of the files VS2k5 places on my Diamond for debugging the application I'll try the same thing with a real GSensor I am just tired of hard-resetting my Diamond in order to clean up the mess done by the development environment...
Cheers,
Alex
Edit: Okay, I tested it on my diamond by simply copying over the two required files (no debugging possible though) and transferring GSen data either via ActiveSync (say Bluetooth) or WLAN works nicely. But I'm afraid it's necessary to keep the device awake to avoid lags (does the diamond reduce CPU speed on standby?).
hi all, here is a overclock cab file, it's a freeware i found somewhere(forgot)
i have use over 3 month with no problems
it can lock the cpu to 624 mhz (300mhz when stand by mode)
as my experience, because it mimimal cpu at 300mhz when stand by,
so it didn't my the battery run out faster than not install it.
and you can see the device run smooth after you you use it.
just copy the file to device/window/program(or start menu/program)
run it> check "enable dynamic cpu frequence changing" > choose 624mhz
only need to run the first time.
i only tested in Touch Pro, i don't know will it work on other device
please take the own rise for using it.

Does it even change the clock speed? I wonder if under device information it changes from 528 to 624 (or whatever it was). and if it does change it, is it only changing the display of the clock speed rather then the actual clock speed.
There was an over-clocker posted in the blackstone forum (I think) a while ago, and I believe that it was basically a hoax. You can look it up in their software forum.
Most roms are really good in performance right after flashing but sometimes the performance dwindles, or performance was never satisfactory at all. So i present to you all the the names of all the tools, recommendations and help you need to make that rom work better than even the cook intended (i will not provide any links this is something you should work for).
now the list!!!!
1. Omnia d3d driver (best video driver ive found)
2. Xperia tweak 1.9 (2.0 doesnt work well on all cooked roms)
3. Chainfire-turbo 3d (makes a small difference)
4. removed
5. Ramdisk_WinCe (creates a virtual storage device on your memory card for
temp files)
6. Tnynt Sd tuneup(speed up mem card)
7. Advanced_configuration_tool (performance tweaks)
8. Speedbooster (set processor priority to an app)
9. Sdk certs 2015 (certs for applications that need them)
10. Soundboost (understandable)
11. Quick menu (faster menu access)
12. Pagepool editor (change the system cache size to affect
performance)pre flashing the phone
13. Sk tools.
After you looked for all these you probably dont know how to use some of them soo ill provide a guide for our hard work (congrats)!!!
Before the guide i should warn you. Not all roms have enough space to handle all this or work well with them... honestly go with a light rom and work your way up so its customized to you.
The roms i really loved using and would recommend are jacks 6.5 medium, 826x with cookie and the x2 rom by russel eclair all three really great roms (x2 rom has slideview!!!)
now the guide although most of them are on the thread some of them are confusing. in the guide d.i.r means download install reset.
1. just download the omnia d.i.r
2. download and install experia tweak go to the second set of options max both
caches.
3. d.i.r
4. removed
5. d.i.r go to ramdisk from menu tap right softkey, go to settings change the
following size 32. change from 16 to 32 bit. check all the boxes.
6. d.i.r
7. xperia tweak does it already but to change wifi to stay on until you take it off
go to menu, connections, enable the checkbox press done reset.
8. you have to buy this app but its worth it . tap processes max file all except
the last 2. or max all the system processes eg gwes filesystem.
9. d.i.r
10. d.i.r
11. d.i
12. download, unzip, run on pc , locate where desired rom is and change to
between 20 to 30.
13. d.i these have all the tools to keep your phone as close to peak
performance as possible...also has a benchmark for all those who want to
see what the difference was before and after all the work.
Congrats!!!!! your phone runs how it supposed to!!!!!!
I would love the honour thanking all the people here that made these apps
possible and to the cooks who work hard to please us at xda!!!!
And to you whose love for the xperia x1 fuels them!!!!
i am no longer showing how to overclock on this thread due to lack of real testing time. If you are still interested in overclocking google overclocking xperia with msm and read up on it!

Me too (that's why I still check the X1 forum right now....). It's not I don't want a change. I just can't find a better phone for me right now. e.g. AT&T 3G network and GPS capacity (iGo8 with TMC).
For OP, be warned to verify your video driver with this tool (all credit to ultrashot) as many drivers would screw up if you don't know what you are doing. Normally, I won't recommend to replace the dll afterward since dll being cooks in as module (if the cook knows how to do it right) is faster and use less memory. Read "What's the take-home message about VM? by Da_G"
For my rom's user, some of tricks OP mentioned already built in and configured (except the lite version). (For pagepool, don't believe the hype 0 = auto manage as I found 24mb is the bare minimal for multiple big apps to run concurrently)
5. Ramdisk_WinCe (creates a virtual storage device on your memory card for
