3rd Party Software that WORKS on ATT/Cingular 750 with WM6

Those of you with a 750 on the ATT/Cingular network with the new WM6 please post your experiences with 3rd party software (what works, what doesn't).
After reading the current WM6 threads it is obvious that there is a big difference on how well WM6 works across the different carriers and brandings. So I would like to limit this thread to ATT/Cingular (hopefully others will start threads for different carriers). I think the biggest barrier to most of us in upgrading is whether the hundreds of dollars of 3rd party software we had on WM5 will still work on WM6.
I am especially interested to see people's reviews on spb apps, wizbar, smallmenu, Handy Switcher, MemMaid, Mortscript, TomTom 6, SlingPlayer, Goodlink/GMM, AEbutton Plus or other button mappers.

Installed on mine, 750C (Cingular) and it doesn't work. Goes from Not Connected -> network available -> suspended by user.
Anyone else w/ different experience ? Anyone there willing to find a hack for BBC 4 ?

Did you try to make calls w/ Skype ? I have it installed on my 750C and skype seems to be crashing when I want to call someone, just closes and the call never happens.

iGO 2006 Plus doesn't work
Doesn't work:
iGo2006Plus - loads with compressed screen (unusable)
oggsync 2.21 - crashes in the middle of the setup

i'm using a Holux GPSlim 240 - TT6 works perfectly, it connects each time I start and navigates fine.

I cannot seem to get my "ebay-purchased" bluetooth GPS receiver to work with TT6 anymore. It worked fine when it was still on WM5 but even though i CAN connect to the GPS receiver when adding it manually, TT6 doesn't recognise it whatsoever.
i MIGHT have forgotten to do some settings, so if someone else does have a bluetooth GPS receiver please help me out! i need to navigate a lot to get to client's offices for my work and i cannot live without TT6!!

Just to make sure, did you set the 'outgoing port' in the bluetooth settings to match what TT6 uses?

Blackberry Connect 4 on WM6 rom ?

Has anyone had any success with Blackberry Connect 4 on the WM6 Rom ? I was trying over and over unsuccessfully on my 750c and I had the same symptoms as on WM5: Network Available -> Suspended by user, no IP address, no PIN (shows Pending)
Any help would be appreciated

yes i have... i dont remember this... but do i need to check the Serial Port service in the Partnership Settings? and do i need to set up anything in the External GPS (Start -> Settings -> External GPS) for it to work?
i got a feeling i got my TT6 to work with my GPS by fluke when i was using WM5 which is why i'm having trouble now... i will try again tonight and see how it goes. Thanks!

IE on Kaiser keeps locking up device

Hi,
I have a Kaiser which keeps locking up whenever I try to use IE. Very rarely will it actually load a complte page and allow youto click on a link. More often that not, the device hangs whilst trying to load a page, the little circle in the bottom right stops 'spinning', and everything freezes. The soft keys onscreen and even the hard keys stop working and you have to do a soft reset.
Is anyone else having this problem?

I had this on mine... wasn't sure what was causing it so did a hard reset and re-installed apps and its fine now. What apps/tweaks you got? Maybe there is something common that caused it?

I still have the problem on mine. I am using Opera now don't want to re-install all the apps.

I did have fit4Cat Hermes Tweaker installed, but as I was not using any of it I have just uninstalled it and tried IE and this time it is working.
Not sure ifthis really made the difference as Fit4Cat wasn't even running when I was having the problems. Weird.

I had the same issue but I had the patch installed that used the SD card for the IE cache. I removed that and did a warm reset.
I haven't had IE lock up on me in a day now on either Edge or 3g

That seems to have solved it!
The removal of Fit4Cat Hermes Tweaker was not the problem, it was a previous registry hack, that had worked on the Hermes, that I used to store the Cache on the Storage Card to save space.
I edited the registry to put the cache back on the device and IE loaded pages without locking up and it was much quicker too.

Hmm I have that problem too ... and yes, I moved the cache to the card. I think that is the root cause.
Anyway, I use Opera Mini now which is way much faster. IE is just no contest against Opera Mini in terms of speed !

Same here, I changed the chache lokation to SD using Memmaid and IE was locking up randomly. But after reverting the settings back to original (use device memory) I didn't have a single hang.

Yahoo Go! on Diamond not working...

Has anyone been able to install Yahoo Go! 3 beta on their Diamond?
When I install the cab the text keeps over-writting itself (perhaps I don't have the the correct cab for Diamond??) Ican sort off "fudge" it but it still bounces me out and shuts down...very frustrating
Anyway, if someone has a cab that works correctly I would appreciate a share...

I have the same problem.
Yahoo go 3 a no go for me.

Me too, slow and weird overwriting text. Gave up with them and support didn't want to know.

Same problem here; its a pity because Yahoo! Go is such a good package. Hope Yahoo or HTC will do something about it soon.

I will routinely keep downloading the latest CAB's (if I can find 'em) and trying installs....they're bound to get it right somtime......aren't they?!?!?

Java ME Issue?
Hi Folks,
I've the same problem on my O2 XDA Diamond, too.
IMHO it's not a problem of Yahoo Go! but the Java ME on the Diamond.
Has anybody tried to use any other Java ME JRE on the Diamond?

Actually it is not the JRE. The one supplied with the diamond is Sun Certified so should be allright.
The problem is the Yahoo Go! application which uses a .net java-hack dll thingie. This dll is in effect a midlet wrapper for .net and simply is not working very well.
In other words: it is (as per usual) a Microsoft problem.

anyone get this to work? its as if its the wrong size? it just doesnt work right after instasll

Because Yahoo Go! is still not supported for our HTC Diamond as yet.

Even i had the same problem after installing new ROM upgrade. but after uninstalling it completely from my HTC Diamond (even remove folder from /program files/yahoo go) I again downloaded it from yahoo website and installed. Now its working properly.
Error is because we uninstall program but system folder is not deleted.
Try this. May ur problem get solved.

Any of you guys try this?

The Touch Diamond is a smart phone....
Just installed it, backing up files now. Seems to work fine.
Though I prefer syncing contacts with outlook instead of Windows Live.

The main problem with this is that there is no way to manage the contacts unless you use Hotmail as your email provider. This is an issue I've been trying to get MS to change for ages.

i just hope PPCPimBackup still works with the Diamond. i dont see why not since my mogul is running WM6.1 too.

PPCPimBackup is what I use, it works just as well on the Diamond!

ActiveSync problem

here is my system:
- Outlook 2007 SP1
- Windows XP SP3 Home
- ActiveSync 4.5
here is my problem:
I used to sync notes, tasks, contacts and calendar with my pc. Since this night activesync gives me error 80004005 for anything i try to sync except notes.
When I first sync notes it shows a windows to I choose between merge from device or pc and any option i choose performs note sync. Tasks, Contacts or Calendar in any combination will result in a fail sync.
what i tried:
- remove device, reboot device and pc. Try to sync.
- repair my Outlook file with scanpst.exe.
- remove all my calendars and tasks. No luck.

...Tired of dont get answers I hard-reseted my device.
The nice surprise, sync worked.
So i installed 5 cabs in a row, rebooted the device and sync dont work again.
Well, the problem maybe in one cab. Removed each one and repet the test but the problem dont go away.
So I removed my device from Activesync list, reboot the pc and the device.
Now its working, i will investigate the problematic cab and post here.

After some stressing research I found the problematic cab.
It seems to be a incompatible between Dutty´s 2.9 MSVC and "Duttys All in one Cabs".
-Remove "Duttys All in one Cabs".
-Restart PC and device.
-Removed my device from PC´s ActiveSync list.
-ReSync.
No more problems.
If someone is experimenting the same problem please post some feedback. Thx!

I have the same problem as I did exactly the same as what you have described.
I didn't know that was the cause. I gave up and changed to CVSD version. No problem at all now. Thank you for verifying this....

Yes, I did.
I thought I have the Sync problem solved when I switched to CVSD. The problem is coming back after I install everything I need including "Dutty's All in one Cabs". I think, again, it could be due to "Duttys All in one Cabs".
Here is what I have done,
Flash CVSD, hard reset
install Chinese CE Star for Chinese Font / Input Support
Sync with outlook, no problem and very fast
install "Duttys All in one Cabs"
install TrackThisOutTracky (GPS trail tracking software)
install Duttys Compact Qwerty KBD
install Full Qwerty KBD default
install Tnyynt Full Keyboard Font Fix
install Penpower WorldCard Mobile
install GPS Test
install Skype
I cannot remember the sequence of installing all other software except CE star (I always do this first everytime I flash with new ROMs).

i have read a lot of posts and used some of the tricks and tweaks since got my diamond last week /
anyway ' my problem is that ActiveSync runs from time to time on my TD
and i bellive eats my battery /
offcurse everytime disconecting from pc i kill that process ' and still it opens by itself latter on /
i hade installed alias ActiveSynckiller and sims that this does not help for me /
any sugestions ?

Which ROM are you using? Radio?

Sync problem with LAN
My HTC Diamond does not Sync while LAN cable connected to the PC or laptop... it only syncs when LAN cable is unplugged... I've always have to remove the LAN cable from the PC or laptop before synchronizing my device... I checked it on different PCs & laptops...but it gives the same problem... can anyone help??
