Friends,
Finally found through another post how to get SRS working on our Raphael's/Touch Diamond's etc..
Here's the link, but in brief:
Install the SRS_WOW_HD 121 "SRS_WOW_HD 121.CAB"
from post http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...355913&page=17
Do not reboot ppc, edit the key in this path:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev]
"Flags"=dword:00010000 <<<<<<< Chenge this to "Flags"=dword:00010002
"Prefix"="WAV"
Perform soft reset, enable SRS WOW. both Bluetooth and wired Headphones should sound SRS enhancements.
I tested it last night with my fuze and its perfect. Full bass sound, just awesome!
Only drawback is that TF3D music player does not work with this. I have been using S2P, mortplayer and these apps work fine.
So chefs, check this out and start adding to your roms..
Enjoy and Merry Christmas

link is not working mate!
Rohit,
Try this link.

Thank You Sir!
Its so GREAT to have SRS working on the Fuze... everything is now complete!!!
tvos
is the reg value binary or hex? thanks for this
edit: changed it in binary, hex value was 8, soft reset & lost sound from my TP
changed value back to 0 soft reset & now sounds back & sounds a lot better on S2P.
numeric..
tvos
I found this CAB and it works on my raph out of the box, just install and soft reset
@tvos & nik3r
Thanks mates. Actually I dont use HTC Audio Booster nor SRS WOW.
But will try it & see the diff.
Monx,
I do not use AB either, just a standard EQ program. SRS WOW throws out so much bass that any other third party app does no justice.
I have a 2003 & 1998 VW Beetle standard speakers and the bass is incredible in the car.. Definitely recommend checking this plugin out.
Enjoy,
Tvos

some devices I have noticed work perfect right out of the box and some people are jumping through hoops to get working. I was one of them and really missed SRS wow. I spent two weeks playing with settings, factory default, exchanging my fuze (thought it was the device) and compared registry values to other fuze devices.. nada.. the registry edit made a difference and now I get way too much bass and complete clarity..
tvos
now if it would just work with the tf3d player
I was having issues after changing the reg edits below, but after just-reinstalling the cab linked above, the phone seems to wake up from sleep okay.
"Flags"=dword:00010000 <<<<<<< Chenge this to "Flags"=dword:00010002
"Prefix"="WAV"
Before the phone would lock up form a sleep and only reset after a battery pull..
Hope this makes it to NATF's latest creation.
yah. there are so many variations people use to get this plugin working.. what works with one might not work with the other.. al i can say is don't give up and try every available resource because SRS WOW is deffinitely the leader.
i would not hesistate to buy a product with SRS hardware incorporated in it.
tvos
in advanced config there are also options for bass boost and stuff like that.
But i doesn't work well on the TP
I tried installing this, but it somehow screwed up my hardkeys. The long button to block screen would not work anymore. Uninstalled it, still didn't work, so had to hard-reset and restore backup.
I don't think this is made for the Raphael....
srs wow does work.. here is my post and how i got it to work for my fuze..

This did the trick and now I have so much BASS its too much..
tvos
I really want to use this but I do not want to lose my tf3d tab
no offense but ab sucks!
tvos
Does SRS WOW work with Windows Media Player and TCPMP? I don't use s2p which seems to be the player everyone mentions.
Also,my wired headset sounds ok but my bluetooth stereo headset (Plantronics 855) has no bass. Would this app add more bass to the bleutooth headset?

Have you had any freeze issues since you've added this??? With just the cab I still have to battery pull.
Friends,
I am a very big fan of SRS on the Raphael and I tell you the application plugin is pain to get working. As everyone has written before my post, it either works or it doesn't on their device. There are a few versions out there floating around and it does require a lot of trial and error in order to get the sound wanted from the plugin.
Now, before I start I have been through three Raphael phones due to hardware problems that I had to send back for RMA replacement. I am now on my fourth phone and hope it stays that way for a long time!
On two of the raphael phones, I was not recieving the full punch of SRS wow with the extra bass, compression, surround sound etc.. But on the other two same identical phones I had no problems with the full sound. At the present, if I listen to a song - doesn't matter the song I hear the bass thumping into my chest.. Sometimes, it can be annoying and other times the balence that srs brings out between all instruments is amazing. This is where SRS does a beautiful job bringing out the extra heavey bass without muffling the other sounds. If you think your srs is working but doesn't deliever the bass thumping in your chest as I describe for your mp3 playback phone, then it's truely not working...
I have included my screen shots, registry edits and the different device information for you to plow through and compare. Now, remember this is for the AT&T Raphael pocket pc phone.
Steps
1. Install SRS_WOW_HD 121.CAB and reboot the ppc
2. Install WOWHD_ARM_Panel.cpl - copy this file directly to \windows folder. It might take a few seconds to copy.
3. Change the registry entries before going into the app.
4. Goto: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev]
5. Change "Flags"=dword:00010000 to "Flags"=dword:00010002 (Note: Energy Rom 3.0 I had to add the Flag Value)
6. Launch SRS WOW from the settings and use the screen shot I supplied. I like the heavey bass thumping sound, so these are my settings.
SRS Software Versions
I could not get the other software versions to work with the raphael phone. So for SRS to work 121 is the only one that works. Don't waste your time trying the others....just use 121
Now, how do you figure out if your Raphael phone will produce the sound with SRS WOW as I mentioned above? That is a good question because it definitely comes down to the electronics in the device that HTC puts into the device. Should SRS WOW work on all devices "YES" but as I expressed earlier, it does not. I have already been through four phones and two worked and two didn't. (Same settings, reg edits, radio, spl etc). So there is something between the devices that delivers better performance with SRS.
Stats Information on PPC
Rom Version Tested in ROMeOS or Energy 3.0 (no problems)
Radio Version: RUU_1.02.25.32 (AT&T Stock Radio)
Music Players Tested: S2P, Touchflo Music Player (no problems)
IMEI - first ten digits I noticed a trend between phones. "15" works and "12" does not. I verified this with the other two phones and the one that did work also had a "15"..
3531420212 SRS doesn't work (Old Phone)
3531420215 SRS works (New Phone)
SPL
RAPH110
SPL-1.90.Olinex
MicroP-Raph (LED) v13
MicroP-Raph (Key) v5
PSOC-Raph Stage_CVT v0x36
R: 1.02.25.32
G: 52.39c.25.22
D: 1.9xromeos (RomeOS) or Energy Rom 3.0
Mac Address
I also noticed that the two phones that SRS wow did work on the mac addresses were close and similar, the other two were different.
I would honestly for those really interested in having SRS on their phone for the Raphael users, definitely use ROMeOS rom and radio I listed.
It will take some trial and error deffinitely. But in the meantime, the application SRS wow has to be handled with kid gloves in order to real deliver the sound.
Also, take note and back everything up before making changes to your ppc.
Please note that I am not the person who originally figured out how to change the registry values. Not too sure who the author was, so I can't make that claim only pass on to others what helped me.
Good luck and hope you enjoy.
Tvos
Hi tvos,
You mentioned "6. Launch SRS WOW from the settings and use the screen shot I supplied. I like the heavey bass thumping sound, so these are my settings." The screen shots you have uploaded does not show any settings specific to SRS .
TIA
what do you mean? they are there..
tvos
Good job tvos,
Thanks for adding the screen shots.
Does this make the htc audio manager stop working, I thought I read in a post somewhere that it does...thanks TVOS
the plugin for SRS does not work with audio manager. I tested srs working in S2P and other third party apps and it works fine.. something with htc audio manager or srs just don't like each other..
tvos
Thanks!
Seems to work very well on mine...with IMEI 0202 (early build). I am also using NATF's ROM with the .28 radio.
EDIT: After installing the app, the phone goes to sleep and never wakes up -- have had to soft reset each time. I have since uninstalled and all is back to normal.
thats good... its really hard to say why SRS works on some devices and others it does not. i know from experience that srs didn't work well with the two that I had to return but the other worked fine and delivered BIG bass sound..
thak you for your contribution.

SRS over A2DP
I have this working on my Fuze (SRS 1.2.10.0 from the MONX cab, including the CPL) and it truly rocks my brain playing with S2P.
I really love it!
If you are having issues with yours, here is the CAB I use. I am also including the REG file with the settings I use. Give those a whirl.
(Monx, if this is somehow not kosher, please let me know and I'll remove it, post-haste. All credit for this CAB should go to MONX)

Well, ensure you don't have SRS WoW already installed (uninstall and sr if you do)
Install CAB
extract REG file in ZIP, copy to phone, and import (using whatever registry editor you prefer - DotFred's works a treat)
open the new WoW SRS applet in Settings, and then close. (don't change anything)
Connect your headphones (BT or cabled, no matter)
fire up your favorite player
hit PLAY boogie to the very satisfying sound form your headphones
Have fun!
Hi is this configured to work in TouchFlo music tab and also change the volume? The other cab I used wouldnt allow me to change the volume and would also stop working after a call was received or made.
Thanks!

No clue, my friend. I don't use the music tab. It has worked flawlessly with WMP, PocketPlayer, and S2P, though.
i got it to work but the settings don't last when i use my bt headset. i have to open s2p & play a song, then minimize it, open up srs wow then choose internal headphones, then it would change to my desired setting.
it doesn't happen with wired headphones though.
Thanks!
Works great on my Sprint Touch Pro running JD ROM v2.15, OP's CAB worked, Yom's CAB did not (gave me a driver not loaded error in the control panel applet, even after a soft reset).
You should update the instructions to indicate that the .cpl file should be copied to the \Windows folder, and can be accessed by going to Start->Settings->System tab.
Edit: I changed the Flags registry value back to my device's previous value (0). I'm fairly sure the new value was causing an issue where if I put my device in standby with the power button I couldn't wake it up, forcing me to perform a soft reset.

are you talking about the separate file that is copied to the windows folder after the intial install?
i have added that already..
thanx.

I have SRS WOW working in the TF3d music player tab, with working volume buttons.
Here's how I did it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=485732
However, if there is a simple .cab that would be better --- but I couldn't find such a .cab.

Thanks for the update.. Does the music player work after calls are made/received? I had to soft reset to get the tunes back on.
Maybe someone had the same problem than me...
I installed SRS, and it works great with S2P... But after install, i can't hear anyone when i received a phone call...
I MUST hard reset to hear my phonecall !
Is there any solution ?
I'm not sure why but, I've got this working just fine with HTC's Audio Manager. I've got a (relatively) new HTC Fuze (AT&T) purchased off Craigslist with Audio Manager installed from a seperate cab located in the Raphael forum.
Rockin' big-time through my Plantronics 590A BT headphones. Looking forward to kicking some tunes through my portable "stereo" (old set of PC speakers & Sub) that I connect to using my Motorola BT receiver.
I just moved over from the Tilt to the Fuze. I loved the way the HTC Audio Manager functioned on the Tilt, speedy and user friendly.
Unfortunately that cab no longer works on my Fuze. I've tried Win Media and Core Player but both programs have an incredible lag when choosing playlists.
Is there a HTC Audio Manager cab for the non-Manilla version? What else are you guys using to play your MP3's?
Try MortPlayer or GSPlayer.
I like Mortplayer. You have to be careful with the skins though, some of them like to crash, or have impossibly small fonts.
I wish someone would come up with a skin that has a car screen that's basically three HUGE buttons (skip forward, back, and play/pause) and then the name of the song and a counter. Most people have tried to focus on aesthetics but I think that would be the most useful.
mortplayer had a tendency to lag/skip when i play music on my fuze. i've since then switched to pocket player (so far so good)
I would use Nitrogen when I am on the run. If I have time, I like the look and interface of S2P. It's pretty slick with opengl.
Great feedback. I'll look into those programs.
One thing I noticed is that a lot of the players would shut off when the phone goes into sleep mode. Do mort player, nitrogen have that problem?
Here's the .cab for HTC Audio Manager fot TP/Fuze
I had HTC's Audio Manager working on my TP, found the cab after lots of diggin and testing... got it here on XDA, just don't remember where...(thanks to the maker of the cab anyways, sorry I don't remember who you are! )
Well, enough chatting, here you get it (lucky you I keep most of my cabs in MediaFire ):

Thanks! I've been playing around with both HTC Audio Manager and Nitrogen. Both are great programs so it's hard to narrow it down to one music program for my Fuze.

I'm not sure it's a unique feature, but I am toying with Nitrogen, and it has a "blank screen" button. The elements of Nitrogens user-interface are super-simple and easy to manipulate. As a plus its billed to be lightweight and responsive - it's fast to me.
Nitrogen is still early in development, and it looks like the author is adding features that you may miss, relative to more mature players, like Mort.

I have a cab in my faq that's called keep music playing.
basically you just hit the power button to put your phone into standby mode.
it's better than blank screen as taht just shows a black screen and still uses more battery.
The music player built in to tf3d is as good as any of the other ones. Nice library function. Menu has the audio booster built in to it. Shuffles music. I can't find anything that works as good as this. This came stock with my sprint touch pro.
i use S2P *Slide 2 Play* it also intergrates itself into S2U just like the iphone which i like, power manage is awesome while using the music player and ease of use is also great, make it even better yet, its FREE!!

I am with you on this one. However i recently switched to WM 6.5 and titanium to save battery life so I have lost the Touchflo music player. I tried nitrogen and found it to be great in every way except one.
On the Touchflo music player it would scan your whole phone for all of your music and organize it for easy selection. With nitrogen though you have to look through all of your folders to find a song which is a major turn down for me as I use itunes to organize my music. Which means it goes by album and I never remember which album a certain song is in. If anyone knows of a workaround that would be great.
The best music player is Pocket Music Bundle.
Best sound and manager playlist.
http://www.pocketmind.com/pmfp.htm
realy like htc audio manager. Even when I used tf3d, for some reason the volume was too loud, and I hated having only 6 increments for volume.
Also unlike windows media player, audio manager doesn't think my 4 zillion sound files whic are from my various instaled games are music too
Is there any reason why there is AudioBooster preferred over SRS WOW HD (in fact I cannot see any ROM with this included)?
I am using SRS WOW HD without any issues and like it much more than AudioBooster, in fact AudioBooster is making the sound really crappy, like those old equalizers in radios and walkmans from 20 years ago whereas SRS WOW HD has a much better sound and much more functions to configure.
It's just a question to know if chefs know about that option or if there's any particular reason
Thanks.
What version of SRS are you using? Didn't it give you problems when installing on your blackstone?
Attached. Works perfect for me
Do you happen to know if it works with WM6.5?
Of course it does
I'm using Miri's WM6.5 Premium V19 and have no issues with SRS WOW HD at all. In fact, I haven't had any before, too.
Thanks! will try to install now. Wish me luck!
Install, soft reset, then go to Programs - Settings - System and you will find it there. Enjoy.
I have installed successfully but it doesn't seem to make any difference when I change the modes. Like WOWRock to WOWClassical or even to Normal. Also the Volume doesn't seem to change. Even if I put the volume to 0% it is still playing. Could this be because of the software?
Have you selected headphones under the "enable" checkbox in WOW HD Settings?
yes I did. I'm not sure why it doesn't change. Do you have an idea? I've been wanting to use this sofware for a long time.
Have you soft reset your device? Do you have AudioBooster disabled? What player do you use?
Yes I did softreset. I have not enabled audiobooster. I use WMP. It also disabled the volume changer on my phone. I put volume on WMP and on the system to 0 and it doesn't change it is still playing with the same level of volume. you are not experiencing this?

Alright.. you convinced me. It does sound better than HTC's Audiobooster. We cook it in cause it comes with every stock ROM outthere. It's more an issue of... why we dont take it out then putting it IN.
Anyway, I'll cook the cab you provided in my ROM from now on
I definately agree that SRS WOW HD sounds much better than Audiobooster. I've been using it in a few devices and many ROMs without any problem. I also install it through SASHIMI with my personalised reg settings. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SRS\WOWXT\WaveDev]

Hi Mate.
Nice one.
Last time I tried wow on HD it didn't work, and I miss it.
Hey why don't you tell Miri about this?
Anyway, I can use it myself.
Thank you
I know there is a version flowing on internet which is older than mine (but higher rank in web searchers), I think 1.2.09 or so.
That version is buggy and doesn't work well, the one I have attached works just fine.
Does this cab break master volume as well as WMP?
No, this cab will not affect master volume changes, I have found only WMP not working with this.
Great find my friend, thank you.

I really liked the music player cause it had audio manager which was the equalizer so can this be done or is there an equalizer for the g1 I have the audiohack and the headphone booster there's like no overall sound cause I use my phone as my mp3 when I'm driving so the external speaker is louder but distored and the headphone boost is not that great. Any input is greatly appreciated

I don't believe there is any third party player that has an equalizer or whether the HTC Music app from the Hero has one. Nothing can ever ported from Windows Mobile.
yea I figured that when I first got my g1 and tried 2 download winlive and it said it can't be run on google system oh well maybe microsoft will make a winlive app 4 google one day. and maybe on of these great devs on here will make a equalizer 4 the g1

CoPilot is on the Market for like $35 or something. Its a full nav software with online updates as well as offline navigation. From what I hear, definitely worth the money.
yea it does especially if u can update it online and it's free. Sounds awesome thanks will look into it
