Music ID program - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Themes and Apps

I have the music ID program on my Tilt which is pretty nice. It can recognize songs played through my radio speakers and it will identify the title and artist... but it's a monthly subscription after the trial. But the iPhone has a similar program for free, is there a free one for the Tilt?
I'd love to have this program because I'm tired of trying to remember lyrics of songs and then going to google it lol Thanks for any help people.

Don't know about the freebeb, but as for remembering the lyrics, use your phone. What I do is send myself an email with a lyric from the chorus of the song. Get home and google that lyric. 9 times out of 10 I find the song.

Yeah, but its always nicer to just have the program on the phone. I think the whole point behind buying a phone like the Kaiser is so you dont have to text yourself anymore, but to (at the press of your touchscreen) be able to let your phone tell you the song. I too would definitely like this program, without paying $4 a month for it. But unfortunately, the only way to not pay is to have the iPhone plan. Shazaam is only free to those with that plan, as everyone else still has to pay for that program.

here you go its the cingular music id program but its free just requires an internet connection which you obviously have

the vogue???
would that music id work on the vogue as well? if not does anyone know of 1 for the vogue?

yes its for any wm5/6 device touchscreen or not (this program doesnt utilize touchscreen so you need to use the dpad and action button on your device to select things

pazookie..... you are my hero! thanks!!!

Wow, iPhone commercials just barely started advertizing this Shazam applet a few days ago... and here I am with it. Just installed it and threw a handful of obscure songs at it.. it only failed one that I know for fact is out of print and rare as hell, but all the other obscure and rare tracks, it found!
Great program, thanks for the cab!

Any idea what can cause this?
Edit: seems it only works when installed on the device, any chance this will be diffirent in a later version?
Time tot test this thing!

Just got my Tilt - What would you do first

I just got my Tilt. First I am going to hard reset and remove the AT&T bloatware. Then I am going to Install the HTC Home page. Next I am going to reasign the PTT button. Next, I am enable the 'H' icon and GPS photo. What else should I do/install? Any ideas are appreciated.
what about settings?
If you do this, will you lose all your AT&T settings (e.g., wap, etc)?
I have read that you do not lose the setting for wap, proxy, etc. I saw that you just lose the add programs. Has anyone done it? Did you have to add setting manually?
Yeah I did it. After the hard reset and the reset when it said it was going to apply the AT&T changes, I had to do this to get it to make calls, connect to the internet, and send text messages:
Nothing
All the settings are already there for connecting to wap.cingular etc right out of the gate, and none of that extra trial software garbage.
So let me see if I will be doing this right.
Hard reset the phone
when the phone says '..customizations will begin in 3 seconds...'
I press the reset button.
After it resets I should let it apply the AT&T changes.
Is that correct?
this is what i did. after i reset w/o the att bloatware.
Skip all that nonsense and just unlock and change over to the HTC ROM. IF I can do it ANYONE can do it. You'll be SOOO happy you did. The HTC ROM listed on the website I've found is faster (especially with camera function), less (read: none) bloatware, and prettier. Keyboard and PTT button fixes are included.
Then install agile, opera, TomTom... done.

what website? i installed hardspl and tried running the kaisercustomruu but no luck gets com error. any help on flashing this phone to htc would be appreciated.
Just load the HTC Rom, it is good. About the network it will automatically update to AT&T. THe only applications you might lost is Cingular application like XM radio, Cingular vidoe.... You can always install via CABS you find @VP3G.
That is what I did. HTC runs pretty smooth... It is faster than the 8525 original. So far so good with 2 days on usage..BBC, GPS, Wifi, pursh mail, SMS..etc. no problem.
If you load the HTC Rom, will you lose your warranty with AT&T?
What's the difference between the "H" and "3G"? And if they are different how do you enable the "H" icon.
Yeah you will. And IMHO everything you'll get from the HTC ROM you can load onto the stock AT&T one using cabs. There's so much memory on this sucker I'm not even really worried about bloatware right now.
Yeah I'm looking forward to a good cooked ROM, but I think I'll wait awhile (probably near the end of my warranty period) before I do that. Especially since experimenting with this stuff right now is almost like beta testing ... The first HARD-SPL for this has just been released and personally I'd much rather wait until it is tried and tested before I do anything risky. AND since this sucker is so new, my guess would be that it'd be highly unlikely that you could revert back to factory settings to get warranty service if you do flash another ROM at this particular point in time ...
-Uninstall everything that came with it.
-Redo the Program icons
-KaiserTweak and adjust settings (no SMS confirm)
-TomTom (grab from a torrent site)
-AGPS registry change
-Skype
-Browsers
--MS Deepfish
--Picsel
--Opera Mini (create direct shortcut with Resco)
-TCPMP and FlashVideoBundle for Youtube access
-Chartcross GPS Test for GPS warmup
-HTC Kaiser Dialer + 3G-Batt Icons (vp3g's 3.5/3.6 addons)
-PocketNester + ROMs (haven't gotten 100% but I'm new)
But then again I've only had it 3 days and 2 nights

Go to the sticky in the main part of this thread, the one titled "Essential cabs for kaiser" or something like that.
Download the HTC Streaming media player. You can get m.youtube.com to work through IE without any issue. The HTC media player associates the rtsp:// to itself and it will stream videos.

Yes but that's the mobile youtube site. I'm talking about the full youtube. IMHO the mobile site sucks because I can't see my favorites from the computer. You need TCPMP, .72 is preferred. And Skunkworks FlashVideoBundle is a plugin for FLV files. Basically you install TCPMP, then the plugin. Then under TCPMP settings you associate it with "Flash Video". I would also change the buffering settings to like 800kb, and 8% when underrun.
Completely optional, you can tell it to play automatically full screen, and exit TCPMP when done. So you just click a Youtube link, and it plays, and you're back at the site. Sweet, huh?
CABs attached.
EDIT: PIE is the only browser I can get this to work with, none of the other browsers I've tried will launch with the correct app.

Has anyone gotten Pandora to work?

http://www.pandora.com
It's by far the best customizable web radio that I've found. I've gotten 7 or 8 good stations all trained up (it works like Tivo's suggestions, which you can vote thumbs-up or thumbs-down to, and learns as you go), and on QuickMix it's like my ultimate radio station.
So I'd love to be able to take it with me on my new Tilt.
It's basically just a Flash player in a browser, but from all my Googling it appears to be pretty difficult to get working.
Anyone have any luck with it?
Thanks,
Raketemensch
Have you tried Skyfire??? Seems like it will be the only browser that allows this interface as of now
I have been waiting on someone to help port it to the Kaiser..really love pandora.com
I used to have a motivation to play about with this as i was a big Pandora fan... but then they blocked access outside the US and bothering to find a decent US based proxy to bounce it through just seemed like too much hassle...
Would be good to hear if a PDA version worked now (i never managed to get it going in the past) - it might inspire me to start bouncing traffic about a bit more!
I love Pandora. I listen frequently on my PC. They currently have 16 AT&T phones with the ability to listen. I don't know what it takes to get this to work but I want it too!
I was on a quest to get this working once but never found a solution. If someone knows how, please come forward!
I guess Pandora requries Flash 8, and we've only got Flash 7 available.
So now that they have an iphone pandora app, will that facilitate the migration of that tool to WM? Let's not mention the giant crap that pandora just took on all WM users by putting out an iphone app after years of neglecting the mobile world.
This outta do the trick

nothing for pandora.com???
man.... i dun get why they write code for 16 diff phones from diff manufactures and not write 1 for the windows mo os....
As you said Pandora, and Last.fm are completely different, and while last.fm has one advantage over pandora in that they have comedy on there, pandora still has them beat hands down...... I just don't get how pandora is going to put out an app for ONE phone... I was thinking before the iphone app that the networks were legally keeping them from releasing a mobile app to keep the traffic off the network but now that's been blown out of the water.

Pandora Radio

I found a cab file for Pandora Radio in a Motorolla forum, installed it, and it works!
I'm using a Att Tilt running Garmin DK 9 ROM WM6.1.
Here is the link to the cab file:
http://mq.roeiboot.com/apps/pandora.cab
Note: switch to landscape when creating your account or you will not see all the required fields. ie: zip code.
Also Birthday is year only.
Enjoy
Happy Birthday to me!
The bitrate of the streams are low. They sound like 96kbit/s or lower compared to the 128kbit/s streams on Resco Radio.
Haha, that's awesome; never seen someone so excited about a discovery, only to knock it with their next post! Been using Pandora for a few months now. Kinoma freeplay is much better for specific radio staion searches with pandora being better for general types of music; resco is very flaky, and yea it has a larger bit rate, though that also causes a lot of sound distortion combined with a lot of "hit and miss" music selections...
This is Fing great!! Good find man.
hey thanks for this i have been looking for a pandora app for a while now because i like it better than last.fm

Great find thanks alot. Works great on my Tilt running HDIII.
Been playing with Pandora on my device for about a week now, it's quite splendid.
One little hack you might care to do...
Edit the following registry key/values to allow playback to continue while the screen is turned off:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences]
"UnattendedPlayback"=dword:1
"FastCacheReserve"=dword:00800000
"LocalCacheReserve"=dword:00800000
weird mine is working fine w/ the screen off, it pauses for about a second then contintues.
This is the best cab. ive added for awhile to my tilt. Thanks for the find.

Interesting. I had tested Pandora previously on Garmin's DK8Final
ROM (fresh rom, no other programs installed or tweaks done) and found I had to make that registry change to allow unattended playback. Updated to DK9 yesterday and just made the reg changes anyway. It all works though
Cheers,
I've only been able to log in one time. After that it just hangs up every time.
I would like to express my immense appreciation for this app/CAB. this has been a hope for me for a LONG time. i even got this running on my girlfriends treo 750- thank you so very much!

Searching for applications

Hello. I have been searching the internet, without any luck though of finding the programs i want.
First, i want a program, like ShopSavvy is for the Android, where i can use it on my touch pro to scan barcodes of products and find the best price.
Second, i am wondering if there is a way to have Google Street View on the touch pro. I have already seen KDKobes Google Maps Street View 2.3.1, from our forum. I was wondering though if there is an "official" or "fully working" program, as in KDJobes program unfortunately, location-data support and GPS integration aren’t working with this version of Google Maps.
Third, i want a program, like I-phone has, for Drinks (bartender?), same cool skins and graphics environment maybe?
Fourth, again like I-phone has a program where you record a song on the phone and then it goes through the internet and finds you possible matches.
Please, bare with me, as i a m new and maybe i didn't have enough luck or "easiness" finding these type of programs i want. Yes maybe i saw some "looking like them but weren't afterwards the programs i wanted, cause their functionality wasn't after all what i was searching for and was mislead by their Title Name.
So if you please know any "freeware/ or have to buy" programs that are exaclty as the one's i have described please feel free to post and tell me.
Thank you very much in advance,
Chris
let's see

2. Street view is officially supported by the latest Google Maps

FM Recording on Xperia X1

Hi all,
I have searched the forums, and tried a few apps and I haven't been able to find a solution to this - I was wondering if anyone else has or would want a way.
I like to listen to the radio to hear up to the minute local news, interesting local programming, some good new music and regular local humorous/comedy programs. And sometimes while listening to these I may get interrupted or may hear something I'd really like to share or refer to later - so in the past I'd just click the 'Record' switch on my MP3 player and then replay whatever I missed/saved later. Sometimes I also hear a good song and I'll record a few seconds to get enough of the lyrics to Google it later.
Knowing the X1 had an FM radio and WM6 I figured there must be an app out there to do this, the Samsung Omnia 2 apparently has this feature out of the box. I know some phones have the FM radio direct connected to the headphones/speakers, but I also know on the X1 has RDS and people have even found ways to use it as a TMC receiver on this forum. So I'm hoping there might be a way to record from FM - nothing fancy, not the full schedulers of the Chinese clone phones, but just some app that might at least let us hit a button and record a few minutes would be awesome.
Does anyone know how or if this can be done on the Xperia?
Thanks a lot,
Peter

Yes, I've checked many different programs and most that say they do record are actually Internet Radio stations and not FM. Actually when I clicked your link the first many results were already purple from when I searched it last week before posting.
One interesting thing I just came across is that Apple announced last week that their new iPod Nano will have 'Live Pause' functionality on it's FM tuner. That would be dream functionality for me, especially if it also included an actual recorder function to share the content later (which I doubt). But I really, really don't like Apple - and my X1 has let me leave my pocket digi cam, PDA, mp3 player and old phones at home and do it all with one device. It would be awesome if it could also record, even if rudimentarily.
99% of results you get with this search is either people who posted asking and were ignored, Internet Radio apps, info on clone phones or mp3 players or Call/Video recording software.
Thanks for your reply,
Peter
i used to have an ATOM exec that FM record function
go to their sub forum and see if you can get someone to make you a cab of their application. it might work
after this is done the next step would be is just to create a calander reminder to remind you to record

Thanks man, I'll do that . I'm ok with not having a scheduler attached, though it'd be nice. I'd really like to have the ability to hit a button and record though because sometimes there's some useful stuff on.
For example today they had a financial analyst on talking about GICs vs. Stocks vs. Bonds, etc..., and giving advice to someone on a situation almost identical to mine and he made some interesting points I wanted to remember to research further - luckily I was at home and had an old mp3 player that could record, but if I was out I'd just have to try to memorize it and probably end up just with confused recollections if I even remembered it at all. Missed a lot in the time it took to find the player though - just starting it from the Xperia - that would be awesome .
Thanks,
Peter

By the way, The Grizz, would it be the same application you were asking about in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493868&highlight=fm+recording or would it be something specific to the Atom Exec?
Thanks,
Peter
P.S. I see you were on the quest too man - good to know I'm not alone - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493761 - I did find the HTC/Diamond FM Radio App, which seems to work faster than the one with the X1 natively, but no recording, still looking around... Atom app seems to have scheduler, everything - would be awesome if we can just get this thing ported
I spent a couple of fruitless hours trying to find and fm_radio.cab or similar file for the Atom Exec - no luck, though a Chinese board seemed like it might have it, the page gives an error in Chinese when I tried to read it - either that the post doesn't exist anymore or you have to register or some such thing.
I found a couple of other FM apps that work, mostly for the HTC Touch HD and similar devices. I found about 3 others that don't work, giving various error messages about missing files or the Radio failing to power on.
I eventually searched for fmradio.exe and found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284477
A lucky hit - "From O2 Xda Atom Exec..." - fmradio.exe + some dlls. I tried this on my X1 though and unfortunately I just get the message: "FM Radio requires Stereo Headset to be connected to function." I do have my headphones plugged in though. No idea if there is some way to get the app to bypass this check to see if the rest of it will run. It may also have something to do with where the dlls are - I just put all the files in my main Windows directory - no idea if they should be somewhere else, or if I should leave my original files as well. My X1 Radio is broken possibly from my previous 7 other apps tried - so this app might work if tried with a fresh flash.
So close
No luck, I flashed on WinMo 6.5 and then back to WinMo 6.1 with Jack's ROM - but I can't seem to get the O2 Xda Atom Exec FM Radio app to run. It just says that there is no headphone in the port. Is there a way around that or could I be missing some files? Or maybe I put them in the wrong path?
This is only one way to attack the problem - any other suggestions or ideas would be good as well.
Thanks,
Peter
A friend of mine lent me his Omnia, which can record with a click. I got all the files, but unfortunately it just gives an error that it is missing files or a trust certificate. I found the fmradio.dl file was hidden in the \Windows directory.
I found some other fmradio.dll files online for various Omnia models, but still no luck with those. It may be that they are not the right file for this program, or they are incompatible with the hardware. It's too bad I can't at least run the program, and then find the FM doesn't work. That would feel more satisfying then it not working at all.
So, so far no luck. Unless the creators of Power Radio here on the XDA forum do infact add FM Recording to their application...or we find another way?
Has anyone been able to find a way to do this on the X1? Or maybe perhaps the circuitry or software is different and it is possible on the newer X2 hardware?
Thanks!
I'm thinking, if it were possible, there would be an app for it. It's probably a hardware limitation of the X1 just like call recording. The output of the radio may not even pass through the CPU/chipset and goes straight to an output.
